Who knows what you do with your laptop and don't use it.
If you are not happy with it reinstall the recovery image and start using your laptop with factory again.

  • Satellite L850-1LK - keyboard response is very slow

MY laptop keyboard response is very slow.

I'll have to press the character for about 3 seconds before what that what is on my screen, please help.

I assume you have all new laptop. Initially the laptop is very busy with many services and loading Basic applications. Windows Update is set to automatic and it looks permanent new updates and install them in the background.

I'm pretty sure that the HARD drive is busy when you try to write something.

What you need to do is the optimization of operating system pre-installed. With other words change Windows update settings and stop commissioning for some useless but preinstalled applications, and additional software.

Please check a little and post comments.

  • Satellite P with Vista series load very slow on start up

My computer takes 4-5 minutes to load completely when I swiftch on, the office immediately loads but then seems to doing nothing for a few minutes then taskbar and sidebar start charging.

    Is this normal on Vista?

Tried to stop unnecessary programs from startup in the taskbar but makes no difference.

Anyone have any suggestions or help.

    Thank you

    Hello

I assume you are using the Vista operating system. Am I wrong?
Well, the Vista operating system needs a lot of material resources like OS first, that is to say XP.

This is why all computers work slower with Vista for another OS that is XP but I think it is nothing exceptional, due to the fact that the Vista eat resources of the computer due to new features such as Aero, new photo and video files, Direct10X, etc..

What you could do is update the memory which allows for slightly better performance, but you shouldn't t expect a big difference.

  • Satellite Pro L500 - wireless connection is very slow and unstable

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro L500 a couple of weeks (Windows 7 and Realtek 8191SE). I have no problem connecting to public networks, but I can't use it at my place, where I have a broadband cable connection.
The strange thing is that, in the same room, I have no problem with my old A105 Satellite (Windows XP).

It is also very strange the fact that, even if the signal is good, sometimes excellent, the connection is very slow and unstable (it disconnects when I try to browse the Internet).

    I have already tried:

    -Update the Realtek drivers.
    -Disconnect the firewall;
-Modification of the properties of the Realtek card.

Maybe it's a problem with the software or, on the contrary, with the material?

    Thank you!
    Poncet

    Hi Patrick,

If you can connect to public networks correctly, I think that this problem is related to your router at home. So I would recommend updating the firmware on your router. You can get it on the page of manufactured goods.

Also try to disable WLAN encryption and MAC address filtering.

By the way: you can access the Internet at home via a cable connection?

  • Satellite L650-1MC begins to be very slow

    Hi guys,.

I have a Toshiba L650-1MC, with an Intel i5-480M dual core with hyperthreading (2 cores, 4 threads), and since last Thursday (May 10, 2012) it was * very * slow.
The hard drive led is * always on, * and when I resize a window sometimes does not.

It has 6 GB of RAM (upgraded from 4 in February this year), and I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit.

Here is a list of the things I've tried:

-Made a * _full_ * scan of Microsoft Security Essentials, which showed no infection.
-Removal of 15 GB of files and software (disk cleanup, defragmentation, CCleaner, add remove programs and my old documents ect)
    -Disabled several startup programs.

I'm really anxious to get back to how it was, System Restore is not an option as the only restore points are from before I installed Office 2010 and I am very reluctant to do a system restore, because that would mean use my license 2nd and last for MSOffice.

Any ideas before going through the recovery methods? As a last resort, I can format the drive and do a clean install of Windows 7.

I would be really grateful of * any * ideas/suggestions you may have, because I'm really disappointed by how slow it runs and would like to get back to how it was.

    Thanks in advance.

    > Any ideas before going through the recovery methods?

I m wondering why the HARD drive light is still on did you check the fitness of HARD drive?
I would recommend this making the nice tool for such job is Drive Fitness Test Utility.
Is a freeware and can be downloaded on several pages.
Check the HARD disk using this software.

If there would be no error, you can try to recover the laptop as suggested by the detachment
    But
You did a good job. I would also clean the system using CCleaner, maybe you should try extra to defragment the HARD disk

I have bad news boyfriend. The message missing operating system means that the laptop can not find the operating system on the HARD drive. And do you know why the laptop can not find the OS (operating system)?
Because the HARD drive is DEAD!

I had the same behavior, 2 years ago. My 4 year old HARD drive was dead. It was an accident of the head and I lost all my files :(

But fortunately, I created backups on CD so I could restore my photos and my mp3.

  • Satellite M505-9490 - operating system unbootable

So this morning, I rebooted my computer to find it wouldn't boot beyond the Toshiba screen. After that, it becomes black and cannot be persuaded to do anything.
I tried to start in safe mode, but the same thing happens. I can't assume the OS files somehow has been entirely corrupted or the HD is shot.

Part of the confusion is that she worked a-okay and then suddenly, nothing.
Any way to deal with other than reformatting?

    Hello

You can enter the BIOS settings (set by default)?
    Disk recognized and listed correctly?
When you start F12 at startup HARD drive is listed as peripheral start?

What operating system do you use?
If you cannot boot OS in safe mode there must be a serious problem. On this path, it is not easy to say what is happening exactly but maybe you should try to launch the installation of recovery to see if there is full access to the HARD drive. If this does not work, I assume that HDD is troublemaker.

Try to get the new HARD drive for testing purposes.

    Hello

you said, you´ve reinstalled your windows. For slow typing may be a reason may be a faulty driver or missing for a hardware component, such as for example chipset graphics card.
Can you tell me what drivers and tools that you have installed, and order in which you did.

    Hello

At first, I must say that on this forum you will find many threads having the same content and also with good reviews how to increase the performance of s for laptop.
What you need is the optimization of the OS.

Laptop with factory preinstalled OS with of many Toshiba tols individuals, utility and also different additional software. Many of them start with Windows and run in the background. It is logical that the computer's performance will be slowed down.

Each notebook with factory settings also allowed installation of windows update. With other words, it is set to automatic. It is logical that after short time of period notebook, will start all of the updates in the background. You will know what is going on, but because of download and update for computer laptop installation reacts very slowly.

As a general rule it is no problem at all and I don t know why you sent your laptop to the service.
    Anyway check it please http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=134947
You will find an interesting thread on slow start. It's the old model of laptop, but the principle remains the same.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

    The temperature is between 52 - 54 c for cpu, gpu, hdd 44 c 54 c.
Also, is it normal that at the speed of the fan, there only Core0 with its temperature in the home page?
Is it possible to keep the processor at high frequency? Because with cpu - z, it's 800 mhz, most of the time...

Please help me, sometimes I want to destroy!

  • The XP PRO system running very slow!

    slow?

XP PRO SP 3, MS Updates all installed. 1.96 GB of RAM. 3.20 Ghz

It takes the system never start, the user finally logs and it always take before she can open a program (any program is: IE 8, AutoCAD, Explorer, MSCONFIG, etc.)
    What I did:
    (1) installed and run the following tests:
Glary Utilities, Malwarebytes, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware. Some malware, spyware and adware found and removed, I ran every program at least 2 times just to make sure that there are no more problems.  I installed and updated all the software scan in normal mode run the scans in safe mode.

    (2) program Ran Trend Micro Anti Virus and no viruses were found.

    (3) Ran SCANDISK, it took several hours (step 4 of 5 has taken more than 6 1/2 hours to complete, it is still running when I left the office and I don't know how long a step 5) and when I came back the next day, logon screen is on the rise.

    (4) to defragment the hard drive - 2 times - both times it took forever.

    (5) went into MSCONFIG and disabled all programs start and started the system and again, it takes forever the system start-up and connection and anything on the system.

    (6) hard drive has over 95 GB of free space is not a problem

    (7) delete temporary Internet files.

    (8) checked for conflicts Device Manager and there is not.

What else can I do to verify this system before I format and install the system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    Robin

I ran the Seagate SeaTools and passed all the tests. Ran the Dell Diagnostics program and he hung up, I had to unplug the system and when I tried to turn it on it would not.  Reference Dell sends a technician replace the card mother, memory and power supply and possibly the hard drive.  see how the system works after all is replaced.
Thanks for your suggestions.  I'll post back with the result.

  • Satellite A660 - WLan Broadcom 802.11n very slow on Win 8

    Hello.

    I have a Satellite A660 PSAW3a 07r00r and my speedtest is usually 12 or 13 MB/s
After you have installed Windows 8 64 bit, my speed went back to 2 or 3 MB/s.
All my other computers are still at 12 or 13 MB/s.

I tried the drivers 64-bit windows 7 as well but no luck.
It seems to be a common theme when I googled.
My broadcom driver version is 5.60.48.35.

Someone at - it solution or something for me to try?

    Thank you, Will.

    Hello

As I m not wrong the 802.11 standards (B/G/N) WLan wireless card BROADCOM BCM94313 supports.

What Wlan standard are you using exactly?
The Wlan standard can be changed in the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab

Given that the wireless network adapter supports 802.11 B / G and N, the 2.4 Ghz frequency is supported.
This means that max 54 Mbps transfer rate is supported
    But it's just a theoretical value. You will never get to 54 megabits/s usual speed would be ~20Mbit/s = ~ 2.5Mbyte / s

As you already get 2 or 3 MB/s, everythign seems to be OK
