Satellite C650 - S5049 Wireless adapt BSOD

I have been using a Satellite C650-S5049 for years 1 and a half. Until recently, the Atheros wireless card stops working and caused much chaos for my laptop.

a. every time I try to activate the wireless driver from the Device Manager, I was greeted with BSOD. Even if it does not, it would be suddenly begins to lag very badly. The LAG goes away when I disable the wireless driver.

b. sometimes, when I try to turn on the wireless via flash card (F8), there is no F8 flash card and the Device Manager does not detect the wireless card.

I tried reinstalling the driver, but to no avail. I even improved by the BIOS and did a system complete scan for viruses and malware, but there is none.

Is this a problem with my driver, hardware or other issues?

Any kind soul could you please help?

Hello

In my opinion, the problem could be a faulty WLan card.
This would explain why the BSOD appears favourable WLan.

The FN + F8 key combination would work only if the wireless network adapter is installed and recognized properly
If Device Manager cannot detect the correct wireless network card, the Fn + F8 would not work.

By the way: have you tried to test the System.* preinstalled Toshiba laptop?
Would be interesting to know how it works pick up the laptop and test the WiFi network once more.

I reinstallled Vista Home Basic, but there are a few problems.
Mainly, my wireless adapter does not work.

When I flip the button to turn it on nothing happens and it is not recognized in Windows.
I installed Atheros Driver, but still nothing happens, light is not yet.

    Any advice?

    Hello

First check the device-> network adapters area manager
You see the WLan card? Or the unknown device appears?

If there is an unknown device, then the WLan driver has not been installed correctly or you tried to install a driver badly these two options are possible.

Remember that your wireless network card? Maybe it was a Realtek WLan card?

If it's a Realtek WLan card, try the WLan driver from the Realtek website and look for 802.11 g (RTL8187B) chip or you will simply check the page of the European driver Toshiba too the Realtek WLan driver also appeared on the Toshiba page

    Hello

I have recently 'come down' Win 7 to Win XP on my laptop because the software I use works best from XP. It's a pain because of the SATA drive, I needed to streamline a facility etc... but now, I'm happy to announce that I am in place and running under XP with one small exception...

  • Satellite Z830 - drop out Wireless adapter / conflict with USB

My Z830 Satellite has a weird problem. Wireless connectivity works well until I have plug in a usb key into the usb port 3 on the side. The wireless, then falls after a period and then it does not find the available wireless connections. It effectively kills the wireless adapter, or at least makes it less reliable.

You must restart to recover the connection. I tried with several different usb storage devices with the same result. Both wireless and usb drive work fine, but not at the same time. This occurs regardless if the use of the battery or when it is plugged. I checked the power settings to ensure there wasn't a problem there. Everything is right on install/factory in general settings, so I can't imagine that's all what I changed.

I'm at work, but I'll see if I have the same problem with the usb at the back, or a disk takes hard usb powered, when I get home. It's really annoying, because you cannot use the net and let in a usb disk without risking a fall on the. I haven't checked messing around with settings of USB root hub or from IRC, as it seems unlikely. Any thoughts or is a matter of "give it back to Toshiba" - I'd rather not have the downtime. It took me a while to work on this has been the problem.

The wireless connection is very strong when the ultrabook is used, so is not a question of signal strength.

    Hello

To be honest, I've ever read on similar issues.
Did you check if the problem occurs with other ports USB or does it use a special port of Z830 Satellite?

In your case I recommend also using HARD drive recovery option and to set the system back to factory settings to make sure that there is no software related issue.

  • Wireless adapter has disappeared on my Satellite C660-22V

Hi, I am very well to this new and have knowledge on this SUBJECT.

The situation is, my computer had a problem turning on and the opportunity to restore to a previous point in time, that I continued with. After the completion of this and that the computer opens completely, the wireless adapter is no longer meet!

I tried to look in the network and sharing Center, there is no option for a wireless adapter, only one ethernet adapter unplugged.

I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C660-22V

    Thank you!
    Tom

    > I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

What devices appear in Device Manager under the category network cards?
    Is any unknown device visible?

To my knowledge, this Satellite C660-22V has been fitted with a 802.11(b/g/n) of Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.

For installation of the driver Realtek RTL8188CE WLan should help to make it work (of course, just in case a missing driver would be the problem)

  • Re: Wireless adapter change/upgrade on Satellite L850 - 1 H 4

    Hello

I have the laptop mentioned above, but I don't like the wireless adapter, because of this, I can't use my router on 802.11 a/c, most of the other devices to recognize the network. If I want to ask if its possible to change the adapter with one that takes care of a/c. I tried with usb but they are great, and I don't like them, + is not the same thing, unless you are buying very expensive.

    Thanks in advance!

Generally speaking its possible to remove and replace the internal miniPCI module.
This shouldn't be a big problem even if the warranty is not valid after this replacement.

However, I don't very well if the BIOS recognize new module correctly m.
Sometimes new pieces of hardware are not supported by s notebook WHAT BIOS and this can cause some side effects like no system crashes or start

But like I said above; It of possible remove the module but laptop manufacturer doesn't provide any support for these upgrades.

  • Satellite 5200 903 does not detect the wireless adapter

    Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone can switch me to it...
Since I reinstalled the operating system (my XP pro SP2) PC seems not detecting don't nor the wireless adapter in the device under network adapter Manager.
Also the light of the flexibility wireless no longer not.
I also have problems to access the BIOS to check if the card is detected there, have not a Toshiba HW setup in Control Panel as described in the manual.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Juliana

The question is how did you install the operating system? If you use the restore CD to install all tools including Toshiba HW setup. If the unit is pre-installed with the Microsoft Windows XP Home edition CD, you must install all the stuff of Toshiba late.

Just a little explanation about the wireless network card. Basically, if the wireless switch indicator turns not on s clearly indicate on hardware problem. I guess that the wireless card is faulty. Also check if the card is listed in the Device Manager.

If you want to enter the BIOS settings pres ESC key at the boot routine and keep it down for a few seconds.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A660 - need driver wireless adapter

I recently did a clean install, and while I have most of the drivers, I can't seem to be able to properly install the wireless network card drivers. Whenever I try to install the WLan Intel driver from the Toshiba page, it installs something or rather adapter Realtek family which is fine if I connect the laptop to an Ethernet cable, but what I need is a wireless adapter.

I downloaded and tried to install a wide range of drivers for the specific model for x 64 Windows 7 downloads page, but no, there is no wireless card.

It is a model of PSAW3A-07S00R, running on 64-bit Windows 7.

    Thank you.

    Hi Kwijiboe,

Here is an interesting article on the identification of unknown devices:
[How to identify an unknown device (e.g. LAN wireless module)? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=78]

After that, he should t be a problem to find the right driver more. You can download the latest WLAN driver on the official website of Toshiba. :)

  • Re: Unable to get the wireless adapter to work on my Satellite L550-1CC

I'm getting bored with this laptop, I reinstalled windows 7 (32 bit) and can not get the wireless adapter to work.

My router settings are perfect, my netbook is zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - the laptop insists that there is "no available networks."

This of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.

Windows automatically installed the wireless network - I thought that could be the problem, so I downloaded the realtek driver directly.

No difference. Always the small icon with Red Cross barred through it.

I thought it could have been a hot key problem - so I installed the flash card driver that apparently controls the access keys (for some reason any).

Shortcut keys still don't work - I could really care about that - it's just the wireless network I need.

Thanks for any help I receive.

    > my netbook has zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - yet the laptop insists there is "no available networks."
After reading this sentence, I'm a bit confused. If there is no available WLAN networks how your laptop had zero problems to connect?

    One last thing:
    > Of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.
What is the difference between the old and the new installation of Windows?

In general the WLAN use is fairly simple.
Wireless network card - must be installed correctly (listed in Device Manager
WLAN card - must be enabled using FN + F8 key combination to activate the wireless network card
-scan the available WLAN networks area, click on the button of your WLAN and use connect
-put key WLAN if necessary and after a few seconds WLAN connection will work

I did this many times on laptops preinstalled Win7 and didn't have any problems. On all laptop computers pre-installed with Toshiba recovery image (factory settings) is not necessary to change the WLAN settings.

  • Satellite C650 - is slow on the first day

Got a new Satellite C650 two weeks ago. Everything on it runs very slowly.

Abandoned entirely on Internet Explorer and positioned on Google Chrome, which helped, but it is nowhere near as fast it should be. I use a broadband wireless connection which works fine on other laptops in the House. I read that I should look at disabling some start-up processes that are not necessary but which? Toshiba has loads of their race and I don't have any idea what they are.

I should add that I also installed BitDender antivirus software and that is the only addition I made.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest it is always difficult to discuss issues such as a series of portable computers slow down because nobody knows what exactly you were doing and what additional programs that you have installed.

Done if you have installed another anti-virus software, make sure that the pre-installed McAfee of Toshiba is removed.
If you have two antivirus installed, they will slow down the performance.

You can also defragment the HARD drive. This can also increase performance.

Finally and above all it s always advisable using the forum search. You will find a large number of discussions on this issue.
