Satellite C660 / 03C does not start after upgrading RAM

Has decided to upgrade my lappy missed at 4 GB and bought 2 x legend 2 GB L256483J - 16 (2 x 2 GB DDR3 - 1333) chip and will not go beyond bios.

Put the dirty old standard 2 GB Samsung PC3 - 10600 S-09-10-222 back in and works fine. Then put 1 legend of 2 GB and it works and reads the 4 GB of memory.

Why it won't work with 2 chopsticks legend?

> Why it won't work with 2 chopsticks legend?
I'm afraid there is a compatibility issue of Mr. to avoid these problems, use recommended, tested and compatible memory modules.

My advice to you is the use of modules from Kingston. The right one, you can find HERE.

Hi, I just upgraded the RAM on my P200D 130 but it does not start after that.
I removed the 2 Hynix 1 GB PC2-5200 and put in 2 SO Kingston DDR2 2 GB PC667 (should be the same as PC2-5200).
Post-market nothing happens, light power control is turned on, I him stays CD drive but screen black, no beeps.

I put one of the 1 GB modules, it starts normally, then I tried a 1 GB into the lower slot module and a 2 GB module in the top slot and it works.
I tried a single 2 GB module in each slot, even in the form of 2 2 GB modules.

What could be the reason, better: what would be the solution to ensure that the modules of 2 x 2 GB to work?

    Hello!

I think that both modules are not compatible to the laptop.
Normally you can upgrade your laptop to 4 GB. Look in the user manual.

The RAM, you should bring the computer dealer and request a new one. More buy modules with the same specifications and dimensions. Try buying RAM with the same specs as before.

  • Satellite L670-1EE does not start after upgrading RAM 4 GB to 8 GB

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB. If I replace two 2 GB of 2 modules of 4 GB modules, the BIOS (which is the most recent) realize the 8 GB, but does not start at startup. There is just the white cursor blinking not.

When I put in the 1 4 GB module and 1 2 GB module the system starts without a problem and has 6 GB. I checked the two 4 GB modules, they work in any combination, but not when both are installed together.

I couldn't find any rider or the settings of the bios for the RAM...

    Any idea?

Thanks in advance for the help

The last plausible explanation is that both modules are ok, but not compatible with each other.
The laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. This should not be a problem since the unit is supported by the Chipset Mobile Intel HM55 Express.

So I think that you need to replace the modules Kingston modules are great and work without problem.

I have exactly the same problem with a Satellite M30 604! I have 2x1GB sticks and screen stays black. It works if I use one of the 1 GB sticks and one the old 256 KB stick but not the 2x1GB sticks as it should be (according to the specifications of my model manual).

Boths glue work perfectly, I tried to the sepparately.

In addition, computer does not work with the single 1x1Gb stick, mandatory I have to combine a new (1 GB) with an old (256Kb), or just stay on the two old sticks...

    Hello

Satellite M30 can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM, but you must use compatible RAM modules.
As far as I know, you can use the modules of PC2700 and PC - 2100 DDR SODIMM 200 pin.

I think that you problem is certainly linked to a not entirely compatible RAM modules

    Hello activity

I recently bought two RAM sticks of 1 GB for my laptop upgraded from 512 MB to 2 GB.
I turned my computer off and pulled out the old RAM and put in 2 GB sticks. I then turned on the computer.

The computer seems to boot up normally, but all the time he needs to just showed the start TOSHIBA computer screen is turned off.
The screen never shows anything... it just stops. Several attempts donnГ the same result. I put in one.

There could be only one explanation.
The new RAM modules are not compatible, or there is a power outage!

I guess that the laptop starts properly using older modules. Am I wrong?
Well, I think you should simply replace the modules with one another!

    Hello

    The A200 series supports different chipsets;
    Intel 945 PM
    Intel 945GM
    Intel 943GML

As far as I know your laptop supports the * 943GML * Intel chipset and the chipset supports 2 GB RAM max.
Take a look at your laptop s user manual * Page 18.*

Summer: 4 GB of RAM are not possible, and therefore your laptop does not start.

  • Re: Smoker L30-10 X PSL33E does not start after upgrading RAM

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop.
    It has 1024 MB of RAM (2 x 512), but it wasn't enough, so I decided to update to 2048 MB (2 x 1024).

I bought two modules and my computer does not start after changing them.
It was only a screen black (same BIOS has not started). I tried another combination of installation of memory modules RAM.
    2 x 1024 - did not work
    1 x 1024 - did not work
    1 x 1024 + 1 x 512 - working but not properly.

BIOS find that I only 896 MB (1024-128 for the video card)
I said OK. Let's see what will show windows. He was also 896 MB.
I launched CPU - Z and it shows that the total size of memory is 1536 MB (medium detect both modules).
I found that CPU - Z detect 1 module 1 024 MB and 512 MB secondary, but the BIOS detect only 1024 MB 1536. How is that possible?

I have fought, is that my BIOS is old, then I update the toshiba Web site form most recent version, but the problem persists.
Please someboy help me and tell what to do.

PS. the Modules are new and work correctly.
    They have been tested.

    Hello

Have you used two identical RAM modules?

What kind of modules did you use?

In my view, that the problem is related to the new, inserted modules.
There must be something wrong with the modules or modules are not completely compatible if the laptop can not boot after installation.

According to a few pages of the book handles the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM modules.

    Did you use these modules?

    Hello

I think that the laptop does not power upward because of a barrette memory faulty or not fully compatible.

  • Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC0E) does not start after upgrading RAM

    Hello

I hope someone can help me here, I recently bought a Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC0E) and decided to upgrade the RAM. I bought a stick of 512 MB of curries with the following specifications: DDR PC2700 200-pin 333 Mhz SODIMM (64 x 64).

However, the first problem I encountered was an alignment problem. A little effort and handling solved this, but after you insert the RAM into the available slot, the computer laptop wouldn't boot, and instead, I had the flashing sequence on the LED from 2,3,3.

I was told it might be a problem matching, then tried to remove the original RAM and booting with just the new stick, still the same error. I tried it in the slots and still no joy. It starts very well with the original 256 MB of RAM, but refuses to take the new RAM.

Are there any known issues? Can anyone suggest something that I can do wrong? I followed the usual steps of upgrade to remove all power cables and the battery before the upgrade, but still no joy.

Hoping that someone is able to help!

    Hi James

You simply have bad memory modules and is not a compatible uses.

    > the first problem I encountered was an alignment problem. A little effort and handling solved this,

This should not happen! The right modules can be inserted without any problem of alignment!
    Handling can damage the module!

In my opinion, you should use another and supported the RAM module.

To my knowledge, you can use the PA3512U-1M1G (DDR2-667 1 GB Memory Kit) or (PA3411U-2M1G) DDR2-533 1 GB
    The two should be compatible.

My first attempt to upgrade my RAM has failed.
After correct installation of the 2 Kingston 1 GB of Ram (Typ: 2,800/1 GB SO-Dimm DDR 2 NMR), my laptop has not started yet, only 5 short sounds (in the owner's Manual: not the duty extended memory).

    Who can help me?

    Hello

I think that simply there is a compatibility problem between the memory modules.
5 short beeps that appear during POST is a common signal that appears if an error has been detected.

I think you simply test the different memory modules.

  • Satellite M30X-122 does not start after upgrading memory

    Hello

I want to upgrade the RAM in my Satellite M30X 122. Correctly my NB contains 2x256MB.
I bought a GB 1 333 MHz. Cl2.5 module PC2700 (corresponds to the former, but more grand ;-)))
Now I build in the module, but after the build-in system is dead.
It doesn't show anything on the screen (after pressing the button one)).

    Does Anyboby have some tips?

    Thank you very much
    Peter

    Hello

Toshiba has recommended the use of these memory modules:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

Well, the size of 1024MB should be compatible. In this case, it s not a module size.
Have you tried to get into the BIOS? BIOS recognizes the memory module?
    Maybe the module is broken?

In my opinion, you should check if the module memory works on a different unit. If this module works correctly on another unit if your M30X doesn t support this module of memory and you need one another.

I know that from Toshiba Web site indicates that it would accept only max 2 GB.
Two 2 GB ram works, I tested the two of them separate. Also do not work 2 GB more than 512 MB. If it's true that he accepts 2 GB? I run Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
Thanks a lot for your help! I'm almost about to send the other 2 GB of ram back, but I really want to make it work! ;-)

I put t know why some dealers offer false information. Maybe you should ask the dealer.
But you should not forget that the single books supports different hardware specifications and are equipped with different chipsets.
Some chipsets Intel support 4 GB RAM and some can handle only 2 GB of RAM

However, you laptop doesn t start because it cannot handle 4 GB of RAM
