Satellite C660-108 - Wireless does not work
New to the forum, I had to sign up because of a problem with shame. I would like to apologize in advance because I know nothing about how computers work.
I have a toshiba satellite c660-108, windows 7 OS. Yesterday I was updating it and I used it very well after that I restarted. He stops and went to bed. Today, I turned on and he did a system restore, don't know why. So all went through and then it wouldn't connect to the internet wireless, only ethernet cable (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=69127&tstart=0 - same problem as far as I can tell).
I'm in the middle of my diploma thesis and word does not work now, so I did a full factory restore hoping everything would be ok. This isn't.
Ive tried to download the driver toshiba wireless, just didn't work. It currently downloads Realtek but I'm sure it won't work either.
How to get another wireless network card?
Any help would be appreciated.
The essential is that you it works again.
So congratulations. :)
I have problem with Toshiba Satellite C660 - 121.
I installed new windows, and now my wireless does not work. I downloaded all the drivers LAN, WLAN etc. and WLAN will not work, I put the internet cable in the laptop, but not by cable or WIFI internet connection: S
Please can someone help?
Edit: in the Device Manager, NETWORK CONTROLLER is not installed, but I can't find that anywhere and I can't find any Wi - Fi network!
Which Windows version have you installed on your laptop satellite?
At first check if the WLAN and LAN card card are installed and registered correctly in the Device Manager?
If Yes, you must enable WLAN card by using the FN + F8 key combination. Can you do this?
After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.
Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.
I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure
(1) if they are correct
(2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.
I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.
(1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try
(2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.
But this is only possible if the windows started successfully
PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.
I bought Toshiba Satellite T110-121, with Windows 7 Home Premium.
1. after going into Sleep Mode, when he wakes up, my WIFI does not work, unless I'm in wireless network card setting, Advanced tab, then I change the Tx to say 100% to 75% power level, then the WLAN will work.
2. I tried to adjust the setting for power management on the network card for maximum performance and does not disable during sleep and also in the Bios but nothing is
3. I use Realtek 8191SE drivers have been updated (wireless card, Ethernet, Bios)
As much I know Tx power level option must be set to Auto.
Have you noticed the same behavior with Auto option?
My doughter recently bought a Satellite C660-1NW youcef.
This laptop has a webcam on board.
When you use Facebook, webcam chat, webcam does not work.
The webcam indicator led is active come on, but the facebook app remains blue without screen webcam.
Skype using the webcam works.
I have updated the drivers but when same no go :(
Please help move facebook webcam
If Facebook does not recognize your webcam right away when you want to share a video, click on the eye for cameras new button.
Your Adobe Flash Player settings will be displayed.
On the tab, make sure you only select the right type of camera you use with your computer.
On the tab, you may also need to 'allow' Facebook to access your camera and microphone.
If your settings does not work, try to uninstall Adobe Flash Player on your computer and download the latest Flash Player.
As the title says, I have a c660 that has only a working USB port. The other is dead and has been dead since day 1.
I tried to uninstall the USB controllers, re-boot and allowing the automatic hardwarediscovery run and install again. This has not solved the problem unfortunately.
I am running windows 7 by the way.
Another had a similar problem or has any ideas?
If only a single USB port does not work and if the other is OK then I think it is a dysfunction of the USB port and not related to any software.
So in this case, I think you should visit the ASP from Toshiba for a verification of the motherboard.
The USB ports are part of the motherboard and possibly you need new mobo.
I recently got the Toshiba satellite c660/c660D laptop for my 21st birthday in July. It is said there is a built-in webcam, but I can't see it or find it. Also when I try to use videoconferencing on Skype, he said that it is not important which web camera connected.
I was wondering how I can get the web camera work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
What operating system do you use?
When you open Device Manager check please if webcam is in the list. You can find it under imaging devices.
Also check the BIOS settings. I'm not sure but maybe webcam is disabled it. Check it out.
I just upgraded my Toshiba Satellite laptop to windows 8 and having a problem with my Matshita DVD-RAM UJ890AS. In Device Manager, I got the error "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). Now, I tried to change the registry, but it shows no upper or lower to remove, I also uninstalled the driver and re-installed and I used the automated microsoft fix dvd all to nothing does not. Windows troubleshooting tool shows the problem but can not solve? Help me please!
All you have to do to avoid this error, code19 is to uninstall Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator and Toshiba Recovery Disk reminder. I thought that it had been uninstalled before that I've updated but I was wrong. I just uninstall both and hey presto it works :)
In my Satellite U940-108 I open Tempro but if I click anywhere to see the windows me screen TEMPRO don t work and be close
Are you using the original version of the OS preinstalled?
I ask this question because I'm U940 too and Tempro works perfectly.
Laptop does not detect webcam even after I installed the driver (I think).
Do I need anything else, any ideas where to find the webcam settings? IM on windows 7, 64 bit
Help please, thank you.

Cam is detected when you use the laptop with factory settings (original preinstalled OS that you got with your laptop)?
Hello can someone help me?
I have Toshiba Satellite C855 1HU. I just upgrade to Windows 8 and now I have no internet Wi - Fi.
I don't see the wireless icon.
I have downloaded the widipl - 20121025100952.zip it din't work.
Means Enyone help me?
You laptop was equipped with card Realtek Wlan RTL8723AE
I assume that you have installed the wrong driver Wlan.
Check and try to install the Realtek Wlan driver released for the Win 7 system
I recently bought this Toshiba Satellite L300-190 (PSLB8E-014008N5) of the machine.
First of all, I tried to install Ubuntu 7.x, but which failed due to a problem of graphics card. So I try the new version of Ubuntu 8.10, everything works fine, except wireless. There is no detection wireless in there.
I tried through the Ubuntu forum, but still no luck. Please help me if you can provide me with a good driver or can guide me as well.
I await your response.
Great news. Thanks for the link.
Got a Satellite Pro A200 2 weeks and the wireless worked well.
Then after a week there was a problem, try to connect. I was able to reboot the pc and he was able to connect.
Now it just doesn't quite work.
I can connect through the LAN and I have another laptop that connects to the router with no problems.
I checked in the Device Manager, the wireless card works correctly and I've updated the drivers for it but no. - GB.
Any help would be great.
see you soon
Try to remove the network adapter from Device Manager wireless.
Then restart the computer and reinstall newest WLan driver that you can download on the page of the Toshiba driver!
Second, you could try to set up the WiFi network using an Intel ProSet Utility (but only if you have a Wlan Intel card.)
If you have an Atheros Wlan card, then try using the Atheros Client utility for configuring Wlan
A month ago I bought a Toshiba C660-1FE. After three weeks my HD broke down. I bought a new HD from Western Digital and I replaced the broken HD. I did a recovery of my HD image, so I had to order the recovery disks of the product on the Toshiba site (3 disks, which drive 1 and 3 were the only required for installation).
Now I have the problem that my laptop keyboard doesn't work. I am currently using a USB keyboard and a mouse to replace my keyboard and the touchpad of the notebook.
The keyboard of the laptop works fine in the BIOS. Therefore, I hope that it's just a driver issue.
tried to find and install a lot of pilots since the toshiba site, no results.
tried to change settings in the bios (usb enabled).
tried to fix the problem by reinstalling all of the computer repeatedly.
The keyboard seems to work until windows loads. When the system is switched on I can press caps lock and num lock and the green lights will turn on. All this stops working once windows starts is displayed.
Perhaps another problem in Device Manager: under the graphics card, 2 subcategories have exclamation points: it says Mobile Intel (r) 4 series express chipset family twice! I can't seem to fix these with the drivers I can find either. When I check the settings I have this message (google translate since it is in Dutch):
+ Digital signature for the drivers for this device is necessary, cannot be verified. Possible after a recent hardware or software change a file that is installed signed incorrectly or damaged, or malicious software is installed from an unknown source. (Code 52) +.
+ You must restart the computer for this change to take effect. + (obviously I've tried that too)
Can someone give me it please help? I'm at the end of my intelligence.
Keyboard works in the BIOS, it means that the keyboard material should be ok and the connection between the keyboard and the motherboard is established.
So, what could be bad? Keyboard driver?
Hmm, the keyboard driver is part of the Windows operating system and is installed automatically during the installation of the OS
I would recommend following:
Go to Device Manager and remove the keyboard point.
You should see something like PS/2 standard keyboard
If you see a red x next to this unit, then it means that the keyboard is disabled.
Usually, you should be able to activate this again (in Device Manager).
If there is no Red Cross, so I you would recommend the deletion of this keyboard in the Manager list of devices, then reboot the laptop. Usually, the operating system should recognize the device automatically deleted and should install the driver too.
Select this check box.
By the way: it is possible that you received a recovery disk wrong which could explain the problems after the recovery procedure
I downloaded the bios-20120613151531 and extraected in a folder with the same name.
But I don't see the list as indicated in the instructions, but I see only "BIOS_V200_WIN.exe".
Double click that gives:
Install UEFI WinFlash 0.02 - this program will be closed
What should I do?
> But I see only "BIOS_V200_WIN.exe".
It is also a zipped package
You should unzip the BIOS_V200_WIN.exe by right-clicking and choosing extract here.
Now you should get the other files.
