Hey Buddy,
> The game is not graphics intensive and worked for about a month without any problems, has recently started to freeze
This could mean that the laptop is overheating
The reason for overheating is the dust that blocks the fan for laptop gets hotter
I recommend to clean using a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. You can do it without disassembling the computer so it is very easy and takes only 5 minutes.
Just remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter before doing this.
For example I clean my laptop every 4 months because a lot of dust is coming so it s worth it.

Why my system freezes all the time I play a game?
From: Xyptyk
Hello group.
A friend has recently set up my new system, using Windows Vista Home Premium OEM 64 bit OS about two weeks ago. The pieces of others of interest are: core 2 duo E6850 processor; 4 GB OF RAM; ASUS Maximus Formula MB; NVIDIA GForce 8800GT video card and I use the onboard sound of the mother board.
My friend has built this system and installed the operating system. Now, the system will freeze for several different tasks. While downloading files from a driver update site, (NVIDIA) I clicked the menu start, the system froze. I play the games, LoTRO, Call of Duty, Crysis, Battlefield2 and 2142. Most of the time that these games freezes while I connect, at other times, they will just restart the system or very rarely they will crash back to the desktop.
The latest drivers and the windows have been installed and reinstalled and downloaded from their respective sites. Still, I'm having this problem. I spent the last two days, through the forums looking for problems and similar responses here. A lot of information is out there, unfortunately no solution to my problem.
None of the antivirus programs are installed, the measures of security that come with Vista running. Oh, and Microsoft only supports their product chat, telephone or electronic mail unless I pay them.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you
Thom.

This is because you have installed the Windows OEM, the OEM versions are supported by people who sell OEM software. If you wanted the support of Microsoft, you bought the full retail version. Yes, you saved money on Vista, but now that you're on your own because the one that you bought the software from probably isn't a group of support for Windows Vista. Next time buy the COMMERCIAL version, unless the person you bought the
Software OEM has support, in which case that it would be installed the software for you and you charged as appropriate, in which case you would have been better off buying at RETAIL!
Another drawback of OEM is that if ever, you upgrade your PC hardware, Microsoft does not legally have to re - activate your software. OEM software is usually installed on a system, and the license applies only to the hardware/software.
A retail license you can uninstall and reinstall on a new computer, if you wish, and you are always covered. Given OS MS usually last5-10 years, you'll have to buy another copy of Vista in 2-3 years, where a touch of detail will last the lifetime of the product.
Not a lot of information to continue, but if 'your friend' knows anything on computer building (MCBS is, since he sells you an OEM operating system) while it should probably check all connections for you ensure that nothing is short-circuit (mobo touch the metal, not inserted correctly etc expansion cards)., run the PC Diagnostics on hardware , looks like there is some hardware fails on your system.
Something is not installed correctly, something is damaged, bad RAM, CPU, not getting don't not properly cooled, videocard overheating/dying, OS does not correctly installed, the drivers works do not correctly, etc..
At this point, your proposal is as good as mine. If I saw the system in action, I could probably find the problem. For you, I'll not charge $75 / hr.
It is low cost.
You can also try Geek Squad, take your system at any Best Buy, if it boots into Windows, they will check your operating system on free, but Advanced Diagnostics and repair runs $199 plus the cost of any material that needs to be replaced.
Dude good luck. Next time buy retail hardware AND software (Microsoft does not want to blackmail, they run a business, there is a difference, but not much), OEM is intended for people who know what they are doing and can solve their own problems or don't mind paying get their problems fixed. In the long term, you lose more money than you save.

Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files.
Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files. I tried to fix this by doing a start-up in minimal mode, but without any result.
It all started with a similar problem, Explorer windows stops working at first upward and restarts and stops working again and restarts again and keeps it doing. I've tried several things like do a clean boot, by safe mode, but even there it happened the same thing but this time, stop once and restart it once, and then it worked normally. When I started windows normally, it did the same thing, so I tried and inplace upgrade and did not work, so finally I did a cover, but only on the first partition, which is the operating system, now I have this problem, Explorer stops working at random times while browsing the folders, it restarts, but then the same thing happens.
Please help me I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and sorry for my bad English.Hello
I tried your methods, but still did not work. In the meantime, I did a full restore to two partitions, and it worked. I guess the problem was I uninstalled a few unwanted games, which came with the pc and the anti-virus of the trial. -

started to have problems while playing a game of wow. starts fine then cant get in my articles, press Esc. but do not go to the minamizes inter face just, if I got to the laptop will not let me type anything
Hi James,
1. have you done any recent hardware or software changes to the computer before the show?
2. What is the number of brand and model of the computer?
Please follow the link and check with the question:
Game hangs or quits unexpectedly:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/303032
Note: Also applies to non-Microsoft games.
Important note: You must follow step 7 of the article mentioned above to recover the computer to Normal startup after you complete all the steps.
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
I hope this helps.

OT: help!
Is there a a way to control the media player while playing a game? e.g. change of songsHi Serrieslack,
If you talk to a Windows game, the only thing you can do is use your "windows key" or the alt + tab to switch between games. If you are talking about during the Xbox game, you can press the 'x' button and go in the settings of your Media Player and do what ever you need to do.
Hope this helps,

Satellite C660-1NX freezes while stop after a new install of Win 7
Hello!
The first sorry for my English, I'm Spanish and use a translator.
I have a Satellite C660-1NX (PSC1LE-00F00NCE), I had to reformat the computer, put on a clean Windows 7 64 x (no recovery) with all the original drivers giving the official page of Toshiba.
Everything seems perfect, but when turn off the computer is frozen, I thought it was x 64 and x 86 and install the same, straight day, then started the same problem, eh update of the BIOS, as used before formatting it didn't happen, it's very weird.
I find that the reason for the problem never happened to any computer that.
Best regards
and what happen when you install the system using the recovery disk?
The laptop is too cold?I doubt that someone will be able to say why the unit does not close properly.
First of all, I think its necessary to find out if its hardware or software problem. In the case where its software related issue, the recovery disc that contains the image of configured Toshiba should fix this annoying problem.

Satellite C660-108 disables unsuspected rotation fan while rose
Hello
I so laptop Toshiba Satellite C660-108 series.
I don't really know what to do, laptop turns off by itself at any time, the fan starts to spin very strong and fair, he stops, when I try to turn it on again same thing occurs, time is random, sometimes it turns on for 10 seconds, sometimes for hours... Please help technicians in my town don't know what to do...Thank you
Karolis.I m wondering really that technicians can not help you with this. I mean if they can that help can we do on this virtual path where we can only speculate what may be the problem.
Did you contact Toshiba service provider or an independent PC company?Problem is that we do not know if your laptop turns off due to high temperatures and overheating of the CPU or there is another reason. At least what you can do about it? Nothing. All you can do is buy compressed air and try to clean it. What else can you do?
What confuses me, is the fact that your laptop turns off after 10 seconds. This must be studied.

Cannot load Windows 7 - Satellite C660 guard freezing
Hello world.
This is a biggy. I have a Toshiba AMD Vision Satellite C660 / C660D laptop without Windows installation disc. Last week, it has become very slow, the interface resembles that of the interface of safe mode, then finally, he became completely unresponsive, therefore, through F8 on start-up I selected the option to return to the factory settings (I have this option)
The BACK screen appeared and started normal loading then who responded, then I rebooted only to see Windows starts for the first time and carry the load, before that I had to create a cd boot from my other laptop to reboot the system that I had lost the boot mngr.
The last part of the installation process begins whereby a white Toshiba screen appears with a green progress bar which is responsible for some drivers (see attachment). There are 39 steps to this process and I remember before the computer should keep restart itself, but it keeps freezing after about two steps. I kept turning it off and eventually the locked system administrator accounts.
Once more, I restarted the PC, but this time in safe mode, the operating system did in fact load in safe mode and I created a few new accounts with administrator privileges, however, I still cannot load all of the operating system because it keeps freezing during the last part of the process.
I have very limited knowledge of loading operating systems, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello
First of all, it was a big mistake NOT to create a recovery disk Toshiba.
The recovery of HARD drive that you were able to start pressing F8, is only possible if the HARD drive is not defective.
I think in your case I think that there is something wrong with the HARD drive because there was a Bishop of startup notification which means that this laptop can not find a boot manager to boot the system.I have no other idea about trying to reinstall the system using the Toshiba Recovery disk or another drive in Windows 7 (of course if you have one)
If the recovery fails, you will need to investigate on how much material could be affected. I think in this case it of needed to start with HARD disk check.
Possibly the HARD drive needs to be replaced. Of course it is possible that I m wrong part is affected, but at the first step you should check the new installation of the OS.A recovery disc can be ordered here:

Satellite C660 - TouchPad freeze at startup
Hi I'm new and this is my first post so please be gentle!
I have a Satellite C660 with windows 7 purchased as a refurb factory it is my 1st laptop, I have a problem after startup, and everything loaded on my desktop, it seems that if I use my TouchPad too early it freezes, he did it since I bought it, but I thought it was me being not used to a touchpad and the "bloatware" to start is the only way I can get the pointer to move if I have a finger from the top to the bottom of line scrolling to the right of the TouchPad horizontally or diagonally, it moves very slowly until I can be open and close a browser window, the file or even the startup window, then it will then act as usual and do not freeze again for my entire session If I leave it for five minutes at the start, it works fine, sometimes it will freeze also out of standby or hibernation, but not always.
OK, I thought maybe it was the necessary driver update I checked in Device Manager and it said it was working properly but that of course is when the pointer is as it should be, in the Device Manager if I pilot of the touchpad/driver/update and internet search it tells me I have the drivers updated If I choose to search for a driver on my computer/let pick me from a list of device drivers that I have the following:-
Mouse Compatible PS/2
Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad
Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPadI should have all those showing? can someone with a file of similar specifications check that for me please?
strange thing is that if I go to TouchPad properties via the taskbar, and then click driver all options except the driver Details are grayed out and done, I can open two windows of TouchPad properties from the device and the task bar manager and have them on the screen at the same time.
Some things I should mention are a mouse in the usb works fine, I stopped a lot of the "bloatware" and would help the useless stuff running at startup, hoping that I have disabled the function of locking of the click on the TouchPad, sound as it needs to be "warmed up" to run correctly when running properly it works fine without problem as the laptop came pre installed and only Disc I have is the recovery one create you the initial Setup!
Any help would be appreciated!Hello
First of all, I don t think that this problem is related to the installed touchpad driver but if you wish, you can install the latest touchpad driver available from the European driver Toshiba.
Visit the European driver Toshiba page and choose:
Computer laptop Satellite Satellite C series Satellite C660 driver TouchpadNow you should get all the touchpad driver available for C660 series.
I found the driver for the touchpad Synaptics for Win7 32 bit and 64 bit.
The latest version seems to be v15.2.11.1I think you should go to Panel of-> Software
Check here if Synaptics touchpad driver appear in the list of installed software.
If so, uninstall the present.
Then, download and install the Synaptics v15.2.11.1 driverThe touchpad settings could be changed in Control Panel-> mouse-> tab advanced-> button Advanced.

Satellite C660 - mouse freezes for seconds
The mouse on my Satellite C660 is driving me crazy. As well as the functions I put t use, it hangs for seconds every time after passing on. I got to plug a USB mouse, which seems to stabilize on a Clipboard as well.
Is there a driver I can download to replace one installed and return to traditional mouse operation?
Hello
Do you mean the touchpad?
The touchpad driver can be downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page:

So I turn on my PC (Dell XPS 2 .8GHz w / Windows XP) and it takes 10-15 minutes before I can access my applications. Also, at seemingly random times, the system hangs for 5-10 minutes while the HD running in the background. The system idle process are running in the top 90 %s while the machine is frozen. What is going on?

Hello
BIOS update requires the VAP (value added package) and all the security tools should be put off.
Here are full instructions of the update to the BIOS:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=60You can also check if new OS install this fix because this problem could be related to confused operating system, you know, but first try reinstalling the VAP and make sure you use the good BIOS.
