Satellite C660-1J2 - about speed of Wlan

Hello
I have a Satellite C660 1J2
Win7 Pro 64 bit 8Meg Ram
Driver Realtek rtl8188ce 19 wifi / 420/1005-2011-20/04/2011

My setup is a router linksys wrt54gs + wre54g amplifier and the toshiba uses wifi, through the amplifier when I start the tosh every day, the connection is always big 5 bars, but speed is always moving between 18 to 36.

The amplifier is 3 feet distance and in line of sight. If I push the disconnect and re connect speed to 54 and rest until I have shut the tosh at night.

I got a sony vaio before and not issue however the wifi card was only the b - g card.

Is it a no number or you think has something to do with the ariel is a reason for updating the driver in the latest version on the website of Realtek 28/1005-1006-2011?

If you think an update is guaranteed can you confirm it is correct for my tosh and it says auto install, what I have to do something to install or

can you suggest anything else.

It seems as if the tosh cannot see the amplifier and when I do a disconnection and reconnection, he can see the amplifier.

Thanks for any help

Tony Miller

I recommend you update the WLan driver if new version is available.
It is possible that the compatibility between different routers and modems would improve with new version

However, I also recommend to check the power of Win 7 options and disable WLan Card to save energy.
This power save can save the battery, but affect the WLan functionality.

  • Satellite C660 - no internet access via WLAN when powered by the battery.

    Hi guys,.

Just bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 and went through the installation process and everything seemed simple and easy. However, this changed when I tried to use the laptop wireless. As long as I fed it with the AC adapter, all right. When I remove the adapter I lose the internet connection for about 3-5 minutes before it reconnects for about 1 min. Then, he constantly repeats the cycle.

I have a strong signal that shows as "Connected" to my wireless network in the network and sharing Center, but get the message "no internet access. I have another laptop and PS3 connected to my network wireless without any problem. I disabled them both where they do not interfere with the signal, but that made no difference. Therefore, I am sure that's not the router, the modem, or the wireless signal.

I checked to see if my WLAN adapter needs an update to the driver, but it shows that I have already installed the latest drivers. I tried to change the power settings for the adapter wireless of "Maximum Performance" all this without success.

In addition, it works fine on battery if plugged directly on the wireless router.

Can anyone offer advice on how to fix it, before I return it to the store?

    Thank you

    Hello

I think some sort of background process CPU stress.
You can check this in the task-> processes tab Manager
Click the CPU column to get the ordered process and to show all processes that emphasize the CPU.

Closing or disabling of these processes can reduce the performance of the processor.

    Hi milleras,

Sorry, but that just confused s really tell you the color of the screen and not the brightness of the screen? You can post a screenshot of this message?
    What operating system you have?

The brightness of the screen, you can change with the key FN + F6 and FN + F7 combination, but it has nothing to do with the color of the display.

  • Satellite C660-1J2 - the screen goes black for a second

    Hey everybody.

I recently changed my HARD drive and did a reinstall fresh, as previous was damaged. What is happening now is that whenever I have connect or disconnect the cable the screen goes black for a second. There is no real consequence of this, I'd rather just if there was an option to make it happen.

Then, give a shout someone if you know how to deal with this.

    Hello

    > I have recently changed my HARD drive and did a reinstall of fees
You have installed Windows from Toshiba normal Microsoft Windows disk or recovery disk?

To me it sounds like that, you forgot to install the display driver. Also check the Manager of devices for the yellow exclamation points or unknown devices.
Make sure that correct display driver is installed. You can download the latest version of Toshiba's official website:

  • Satellite C660-1J2 blue hue on screen

I just bought a new laptop yesterday and I noticed that there is a slight tint of blue to especially sensitive screen with whites, I was wondering just if it's something I'd be worried or if that is how the screen is with these laptops? I compared it with my PC monitor, and this is just light.

In my opinion, you must contact your local agent and check if the same thing happen on other models.
To be honest I don t understand what do you mean exactly with this shade of blue, but on my two computers laptops, screen is quite clear.

Maybe you should ask for the replacement.

  • Satellite C660-1J2 stuck in the Win10 upgrade

During the upgrade the laptop gave a 0xc000000f error code and three options, enter to retry, f8 to startoptions and f9 to change operatingsystem no matter what options I try it keeps coming back to the same screen.

    What can I do?

Switch off the phone by pressing and holding the power button / stop.

Then turn the power on again and press F12.
Now you should see the advanced boot menu.

Here choose the HARD drive recovery
Then choose the language and keyboard.

Then solve problems->-> automatic repair of the advanced options.

I hope it helps... If not, you may need to get the laptop back to factory settings...

  • Satellite C660-1J2 hard drive failed

    I have some problems
First of all, I can't write English very well

    Hello

(!) Sounds like the HARD drive is faulty.
    I think you need a new ;(

Usually, you can use any HARD SATA 2.5 drive.

You can order the HARD drive and could replace it yourself it s not very tricky as you can see here:

  • OpenGL driver for Toshiba Satellite C660-1J2?

Adobe After Effects always crash at startup.
It says it is unable to initialize OpenGL and I need to contact the manufacturer of the graphics card.

So I contact Intel because I had an Intel Hd Graphics adapter, but they say that the driver I already customized is set for Toshiba. So I search on Toshiba but can't really find any useful link.

Do I have to manually install OpenGL or can I disable it somehow without starting After Effect?
    How can I installOpenGl manually?

I downloaded the latest driver of graphics on your part, but it does not help.
What I want to do is run a popular Adobe product then I think that a lot of people have this problem.

    Hello

OpenGL is a standard API for writing computer graphics 2D or 3D software.
OpenGL is a product of open source but DirectX is published by Microsoft and DirectX is part of the graphics card and not OpenGL driver.

However, you cannot download and install OpenGL for use in the graphics OpenGL driver must be implemented in the driver

Mostly it of done by the graphics card manufacturing.
Therefore, you will need to check the Intel page to get a driver from Intel that supports OpenGL because the laptop supports the graphics HD Intel HM55.

This link detects the driver updates are relevant to your computer, and then helps you install quickly and easily.

  • Re: Satellite C660/1J2 and new BIOS

    Hello
I wonder if anyone can help, count it has bios win-1, 90 published February 2012, looked today and they have issued a new bios 1.70 dated 06/01/2012.

What gives there is no recording of version 1.90 and I guess 1.70 is much earlier? and if we do a search on the web (Toshiba site not) it shows toshiba 1.90 as last.

Before someone asking why I need the Bios, sometimes have improvements

    Thank you
    Tony Miller

I ve checked the support page Toshiba and you are right. Available BIOS version is 1.70. I put t know why the lower version number is available in the latest BIOS update.

In any case, consult the Toshiba page days. Maybe any new version will be available.
But let's be realistic, if your laptop works well you don't need BIOS update. If you don t have a few problems serious don t change anything.
