To be honest, you can be happy that your laptop works because many people have had bad luck after the BIOS update fail.

In my opinion, you shouldn't be playing with BIOS updates. At the end you may damage the BIOS update and your laptop won't boot at all. Maybe you should contact Toshiba service provider and clarify this point. Ask for help. They should do it for you. If something goes wrong, it is not your fault.

Be careful with this. This is just my opinion and advice for you. Don t change well running system.

    Hello

I received a notification via Tempro that he did not have a BIOS upgrade. I downloaded the ZIP file (bios - 20120209125153.zip), extract the package (BIOS360_EC140_WIN.exe) and ran it according to the instructions.

The package runs, give the progress bar "extract files...". ", then displays a dialogue entitled"TOSHIBA BIOS package Ver.4.1.2"that says:"this package BIOS does not support this operating system."

Does anyone know what is the problem?

    Hello

You have problems with the laptop?
If not then why you want to do the BIOS? Just because the new BIOS is released?
I would not change anything if my laptop is running correctly.

However, the update of the BIOS requires the VAP (value added package).
So remember that this PPV is installed correctly. If this isn't the case, so far.

  • Satellite A110-180 - update of the Bios for Windows 7 and Linux

    Hello

I want to change the following settings in my bios on my laptop satellite A110-180
    * AHCI for SATA
    Disable the IDE

    But none of these options.
So I thought that maybe I should update my bios.
I found the download page, but there are 2 options: Windows Vista or NO vista, but I want to dual boot windows 7 and linux.

Which one should I download, or is there another option to change the settings?

    Thank you!
    Bart

    Hello

Satellite A110 does not support these options (SATA AHCI).
The update of the BIOS will not help you!

Linux is not supported and therefore, you will not find any special BIOS for Linux OS!

The two BIOS updates are for Win Vista or OS independent.
Therefore, if you use other than Vista OS then you should throw the update of the independent BIOS to the BONE!

But as mentioned above; both options will not appear after the BIOS update!

  • Satellite A200 - 23Q - update of the BIOS under Linux

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 23 Q (PSAE6) computer laptop,
My OS is Ubuntu 12.04 (but I already used Windows Vista, older versions of Ubuntu and Fedora)

and I have a problem with the BIOS.

Y at - he no download available for making a day, or even downgrade? D I prefer the first version or henriq one old, because I know it worked fine

    Thank you

Way General Toshiba does not support Linux and BIOS update can be done on Linux. All available BIOS updates are versions of Windows and can be updated with Windows operating system.

Out of curiosity, but what type of problem do you have with the current version of BIOS?

  • Satellite A200-193 - update of the BIOS under Linux

    Hi all

I have a 3 years old Toshiba Satellite A200 - 193 (PSAEC), purchased in France, it's apparently not released in the United States - or not under the reference of thos - because I can't find it in the database of the Toshiba bios. (I could post in a french forum, but there is no such support :-/)

The bios is a Phoenix, v1.30. This bios is known to have a bug inside, preventing the unofficial OS and not patched like linux to properly treat the acpi (control of the fan in particular). The temperature is higher than it should be.

I tried to update my bios to 1.80 through the en of the toshiba site, but I and draw attention to say "this bios should only be used with Vista.
OK, so it's purely disgraceful given the specific instructions of OS have NOTHING to do inside of a bios, what are my options?

Has anyone installed this BIOS? He end up by properly?

    Thank you very much

    Hey Buddy,

Please don t get me wrong, but Toshiba doesn't provide any support for Linux. This means that you search yourself for drivers or solutions and that s why the BIOS update is only Windows Vista supported.

This means that if you want to do this update, you must install the operating system preinstalled Toshiba, I think that in this case Vista. Then, you are able to update the BIOS.

  • Satellite C660 - how to pass the BIOS?

I have the same problem. Latest version of BIOS for my laptop is 1.3, but on my 1.4 is installed? Laptop is 10 days and I can't work with it.

We have a few C660 (PSC0LE), we bought tham the same day and they all have 1.3 and perfect work. Only my are BIOS 1.4 version and it of not good at all.

Please, I beg you, my question is how do I Flash BIOS with 1.3?

    Hello

Why did you create an additional thread on BIOS? I want to say that this can be discussed in your other thread too.

Anyway: the BIOS Downgrade is not possible and can be done a service allowed in your country. Latest Toshiba site only version is available, so a downgrade is not possible.

  • Satellite A300-17N - update of the BIOS has not

    Hello

I tried updating the bios with the winflash utility of toshiba-site official. He created a backup file and pasted into the half of the process. Then when I tried to restart the screen was white (without food). I hear the cpu works, the fans, the lights on the keyboard and hard drive. But I can't hear the beep on startup and the screen as I said is empty without power.

    Hello

  • Satellite L50 - PSKJNR - update of the BIOS is not compatible

    Hello.

Finally, you set a BIOS update driver on your site (a few days ago it was cracked).

I was so happy that started to read manuals on bios recovery (because I'm really scared of BIOS update). But for some reason I need a newer version of the BIOS (to disable the video card and bluetooth adapter).

Well, I started the file and got: "error. The bios is not for your PC"why? I am sure, I have chosen a correct version of the laptop!

    Hoping for an answer.
    Mike.

    Hello

Do you have something on your laptop or it turns with the factory system pre-installed?
From my own experience such BIOS error message may appear due to some missing essential Toshiba software. For example using Win 7 added value package is required. To help to win 8 Toshiba System Driver must be installed.

  • Re: Satellite L300-11V - updated after the BIOS no longer start

Hi guys, I've updated my BIOS today with 'InsydeFlash' with nothing open and everything looked perfect, said the program was a success and restarted.

Now the laptop looks like its broke, it lights up but nothing. However, it tries to read the CD in the status bar that resembles his tent to recover himself. Any ideas? The problem is that it's barely out of warranty

    Hello!

Akuma may be good but try this workaround too:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait an hour and after that connect the two devices again. Now, you can try to restart the laptop.

If it doesn t work it seems that, during the BIOS update something goes wrong and the module ROM needs to be reflashed. But it is possible to an authorized service provider

    Good bye

  • Satellite L40 - 14Y - update of the BIOS has not

    Hello.
I flashed (better: I tried to) the BIOS under Windows for my laptop.
The problem is after loading default configuration and exit the bios with saving the changes, the screen is black.

Now I want to recover my BIOS via method disk crisis but I need a BIOS wph file to do so, but I can't find it in downloaded files of the BIOScfiles.
Does anyone know how and where to get?
favorite I'd like having the version 1.60.

Is there a virtue, for whom?
any with the same model discharge the file would be for me and I download or send an e-mail?
    [email protected]

    Thenk you!

    Hi year - Dr.Zej.

You want to make this method of crisis? In the worst case, you could destroy the motherboard together and this procedure isn't so easy. In your case I don't this

From Toshiba Web site shows only BIOS update for Windows and that s what you can get

In your case I would contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can reflash the ROM module and should have all versions of the BIOS. Download just in contact with them! ;)

    Hi chaospunx,

Which HDD mode did you use before the BIOS update? Perhaps this option, you need to change, then Windows will start up again.

You can choose between the mode of access AHCI and Compatible HARD disk.
