Satellite C660-22V guard disconnect from the internet
I've had my toshiba c660-22v laptop for about a year and I just moved into a new House recently with a new internet provider.
I have trouble maintaining an internet connection.
Every so often, my laptop will disconnect the wifi.
My roommates have no problem with the internet either.
The only way I can put internet on my laptop is unplug the router of the socket and plug again.
Can anyone help?
> The only way I can put internet on my laptop is unplug the router of the socket and plug again.
In my view, this has nothing to do with your laptop.
It seems that the problem is related to the new router.
By the way: I guess you have not had any problems with your laptop before moving to the new home. Right?
I'm having a problem with my internet, and I'm running out of things to try. I've got the most recent Time Capsule with connection ca.
I have replaced the cable modem and have removed my extender. Always get disconnected every 12 hours or more. I can still access my local network, just the internet disconnects. I did a hard reset and replaced the cables. Unable to connect WiFi devices. What are my options?
Unfortunately, we do not have much in terms of specific details that would help us to try to understand what the real issue here might be... the things you may already have... but did not mention in your message.
You connect your computer directly to the modem a few days see if Internet connection "holds" that way... or... If Internet disconnection problems still continue during the period of "test"?
Have you had a technician from your Internet Service Provider (ISP), come out to your home to inspect all cables and connectors associated with the Internet line?
What is the number and the model of the modem? We ask this question because there are a few compatibility problems between the series SB-Motorola/Arris modems and the newer 802.11ac models of AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule from the airport.
Who is your ISP? Most of the suppliers are in the current process of implementation of a new type of Internet connection called IPv6 in their current systems, requiring updates and changes on the system that are supposed to happen during the night gently... but sometimes cause a loss of Internet connection in the process. IPv6 implementation goes relatively smoothly for most suppliers, except a major player in particular who asks various questions documented with current Apple routers.
Finally, there was some problems power stability on newer routers AirPort, causing a momentary intermittent loss of power resulting in an interruption of the connection when the airport restarts automatically. This question is very difficult to catch, because it happens very quickly and it must almost be watching time to know that it took place at the airport. If everything else goes out, it may be the router from the airport that needs to be replaced. I personally had this problem, and the only solution was to replace the AirPort base station.
We have a customer with a Tecra A2 provided by ourselves that, after 5 months without a problem from time to time, hangs when it is disconnected from the internet.
Reboot the laptop and the internet can be found sometimes up to 20 times and then it blocks again when we disconnect from the internet IE. A Ref post causing VOIP problems were found and the software disabled and disconnected hardware. No difference. Running XP SP2, IE6, Kaspersky Anti Virus, Tiscali ISP ADSL, modem ADSL Tiscal (a new requested just in case). A lot of work to do and lose valuable time with customer problem.
It seems that a 3rd party software causes this very strange problem.
You suggested that VOIP is causing the problem. Well, the problem is that Toshiba doesn't support any 3rd party software and applications.
What I can suggest is to check the Event Viewer logs. You will find all the errors that appear on the OS. Double-click the error and you should see the description of Microsoft.
Maybe you will find a solution.

I have a wireless router Belkin g with 1 Server 2003 cable and 2 xp machines and 1 machine vista wireless. My problem is when you transfer files to the internet, the router disconnects from the internet, but the network remains intact. I cannot remote in all computers, but not internet. Once I have restart the router, everything works fine. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how to fix them.original title: problems with the router.
I have no solution for you. It seems more likely to me that it is a hardware problem - but if it was related to traffic, I would expect that the problem on the downloads more downloads.
In addition to DSL reports, you could try to ask some of the forums that specialize in the updated firmware for wireless routers. This is not to say that you need to install the modified firmware (although there may be good reasons to do so), but people who do usually firmware mods are much how the equipment works and what might be its potential failure modes.
Is one of the best-known sites DD-WRT.com, but there is one list of other here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wireless_router_firmware_projects the firmware on these sites was originally designed to run on Modem Linksys WRT54G, but applies generally to Linux with chips Broadcom - based wireless routers and DD - WRT claims that its firmware takes care of some Belkin routers. If your router is one of those on what DD - WRT will work, there will probably be someone in the forum there will have something for you. See the list here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

A member of the family interferes with my computer and worse me. It's work! This family member is able to make me become disconnected from the internet. I'm not sure how he does it, but I have a feeling that he is able to see my IP address and it blocks my IP address of the router. I'm not familiar with TCP/IP or DNS settings. Here are some of my settings, perhaps you can direct me in how to change a parameter, so it can stop.Windows IP configurationHost name...............................................Primary Dns suffix...Node Type................................................ NO.DNS suffix search list...Ethernet wireless network connection card:The connection-specific DNS suffix.Description............................................................developmentsPhysical address...Dhcp Enabled.................................................... YesAutoconfiguration enabled... YesIP Address..........................................................Subnet Mask......................................................Default gateway...DHCP Server......................................................DNS Servers............................................................................................................Whether by TCP/IP or DNS, I believe that the family member is accessing my computer. Is it possible to change these settings where the family member is not able to see my local IP address? I need to change the DNS server settings and change TCP/IP settings. Maybe I'm wrong and you can tell me what I should do to fix this problem. Thanks in advance for your answer.
As already mentioned LEM that the rule on the router has an absolute rule that can and cannot access the internet or other network resources. I suggest you lock your computer, turn off the server, Remote Service registry service and Remote Desktop and change the password on all administrator accounts. Make sure that your firewall is enabled and have it block all inbound traffic local. Then talk to the guy that controls the router and ask him to lock the router with a password, the only way to bypass the router, then will be by resetting it and the router administrator will know if everything else does.
Having said that your problems are probably not caused by another Member of the family, it could be caused by flaky or failing hardware, bad cable, bad router, network card bad, if you really think that your problem is caused by a member of the family of your computer, then your question must be addressed and brought to a head in a "family meeting" rather than in a public forum on the internet. There is not a lot of people read here can do to change the behavior of the members of your family.
What happens if you use your computer, updatesare being downloaded, and you disconnect from the internet?
Nothing happens. The download is incomplete and the updates are not installed. The next time you go on the site to update or the next time that your automatic updates are are that the updates will be downloaded again.
My computer is constantly disconnected from the internet and to reconnect I just unplug the cable for less than a second and it starts to work instantly. Does every 5 to 10 minutes and it gets frustrating. It is not the cable modem because it is constantly connected, and I repeatedly checked.
I have this problem with all programs on the internet and she does every day and probably every 5 to 10 minutes.
Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.
Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.
After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they

I have an IIS Web site 6.1 on local 32-bit Windows 7 machine that serves HTML and MP4 videos via Internet Explorer on the local computer. An internet connection is not necessary because it is all local storage and local accommodations through IIS. IIS is configured to serve the MP4 videos in the form of downloadable files, don't not streaming somehow. I have the right MIME type ".mp4" with the installation of "video/mp4" in the IIS server, so I don't think that's the problem.
When the machine is connected to the internet, by clicking on a video link MP4 in any HTML page served by the local IIS server results in Windows Media Player opening and playing the video in its own window. However, when the Ethernet cable is unplugged, by clicking on the same results of video link MP4 in Windows Media Player by opening its own window, and then display this error message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is on a removable storage card, insert the storage card.
It's almost as if Windows Media Player has a bug and since it accesses this media file via a URL, but the machine is not connected to a network, he thinks that this file is unplayable.
When the Ethernet cable is disconnected, the local IIS server is still all the HTML code and ActiveX content except for media files. I also tried to access MP3 and WMV files via the IIS server to see if Windows Media Player will open those when the computer is disconnected from the Internet. These caused also Windows Media Player files display the same error message.
I tried the VLC (VideoLAN) Player after changing the property file in VLC of WMP for .mp4 files extension. With VLC installed and the extension changed to VLS property, I can download/open the MP4 video using the link in the web page served by IIS all when they are disconnected from the internet. The only thing I can't do is get VLC player to open and play the video simply by clicking on the link in Internet Explore web pages served by the local IIS server.
I would like to make use of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player with this IIS server that serves the MP4 videos rather than using VLC player.
I finally found the answer to my problem:
When they are disconnected from the internet, mysteriously, Windows Media Player 12 requires that you check a checkbox in tools > Options... > zone settings tab player called "Internet connection (ignore the other commands). Once this box is checked and the settings saved on APPLY, then Windows Media Player 12 will play videos served by the local IIS server on the same machine, while disconnected from the Internet.
I keep get disconnected from the internet, even if the network and sharing Center shows that there is no problem. The only way I know how to solve this problem is to re-login. Is there a way I could resolve this with on the duty to keep the re-login.
There is a firmware version of January this year for your router. I suggest you update your router to the latest firmware.
