Satellite C660 PSC1JE - 8 GB RAM upgrade problems

Fellow owners of Toshiba,

I have a Satellite C660-PSC1JE-00Y00XHU with 3 GB RAM (1 + 2) I want to go to 8 GB.

I went out and bought 2 x 4 GB, but so far no of the below those worked (the computer restarts or stop):
http://www.Amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1333MHz-KTT-S3BS-4G/DP/B00B2UWSD4
http://www.Kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR16S11S8_4.PDF
I was not to mix memories above, purchased two of each. Certainly, these operate at higher MHz and they aren't memories KIT, so that may be the issue.

According to the specifications of the laptop (SEE attachment), I should be able to move to 8 GB.
I found the following thread here, but it is not help me solve this problem: https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...RAM+memory+8gb

I found my memories at Intel:
http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/platform-memory/DDR3-1333-n-ECC-SODIMM-validation-results.html?wapkw=m471b2873fhs
Two of my memories have a value of 'B' in the R/C column, but what that means? I ask, it is because in the list, there are two 4 GB memory listed thus:
M471B5273CH0-CH9
M471B5273BH1-CH9
But these memories have a 'F' in R/C column. Is that mean that they didn't work with the tested chipset?

I found a KIT on amazon, where PSC1JE is registered: http://amzn.com/B00WAFGDTK
But on the important information of the product section, only C655 notebooks are listed.

Another thing I noticed, is that support for DDR3 frequency on my motherboard is only 533 MHz, but the memories that came with the laptop are 666,7 MHz. Does that mean I shouldn't buy same PC3-10600 memory, since it would not even capable of running at full speed?

What I absolutely have to buy KIT or can I go out with two sticks of Samsung 4 GB?

I am at a loss. Can someone point me in the direction of someone who can check what memory modules I need in order to have 8 GB in my notebook?

Thank you
David

Hello

I'm looking to upgrade my 8 GB RAM. I bought 2 x 4 GB of RAM, but I get a blue screen on startup, so I went back to them. Currently looking for something that works. Did you find something that works well with your laptop?

    Hello

Sorry for my level of English, I'm French

I have a problem without a solution with my Satellite C660 (for the moment, I hope!) I downloaded the software google sketchup 8, dedicated to the development of architecture, but it does not work, I still got a bug message advising that it is necessary to update the graphics card drivers (according to google support it seems that OPENGL functions must be implemented in the drivers of my laptop)

So I downloaded the latest drivers available for the configuration I have (Intel HD graphics for pentium, 64-bit windows 7).

the link (french site, that Intel is not currently available, it is a document of .exe)

    http://www.Touslesdrivers.com/php/Constructeurs/TELECHARGEMENT.php?v_code=37057&v_langue=FR

I tried to update manually driver graphics card with Device Manager menu (graphics card > update drivers button > file.exe manual selection), but in the end, there is no update, I did that a very small message advising that windows has determined that the pilots are already updated.

In fact there is no change on the drivers (always the same date of the 2010-07-28 drivers in the properties of the graphics card) and sketchup is still unemployed

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    What C660-xxx you have exactly?

If you have an Intel graphics card, you must download the driver directly on the Intel site.
There you should find the last version of driver

  • Satellite C660 - 1 M 0 encountered a problem and needs to restart

    Hello
Today, when I turned on my laptop before it starts, I get a blue screen says:
Your computer has encountered a problem and needs to restart. Collection of information.

    What is this problem for?
    My laptop is TOSHIBA Satellite C660 - 1 M 0 i3

    Is this a Windows problem?

Here is a message I received in Windows7forums on this subject but I don't understand what he means, can understand you for me please? e

    * Re: Heeelp! Your computer ran into a problem! *

These screens generally include a sentence in the screen "fallen on problems." Usually something like Violation of Watchdog DPC (Deferred procedural call) and are often associated with a bad driver and or a power saving state not supported (sleep, hybrid sleep, hibernate, etc.,)

First of all, make sure that you have the latest drivers from your computer manufacturer and or the individual device manufacturer's Web site. Then consider whether this computer manufacturer includes any software that may be incompatible with Windows 8 CP or is somehow patented conflict with Windows 8 CP in energy saving power scheme options. You may need to experiment a little, maybe remove the proprietary tools or taste affecting your schema of high performance or even the options down or max.

The overview of consumption is more or less a new frontier for everyone here to work through this kind of problem is going to be informative and beneficial for all who read your thread, so please keep us posted as to how you are progressing with your current number.

    Hello

Blue screen of death (BSOD) may be caused by software or hardware problems.
To know if it of really a software problem, you can try running a HARD drive recovery procedure which would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

What is an option for you?
    If Yes, check this:

  • Satellite P100 - 216 (PSPADE) - CPU / RAM upgrade options

    Hello guys,.

    I just got a laptop Satellite P100-216 (PSPADE-01400UEN). (card: T5500 - GeForce Go 7600 512 mb, 200GB)

It has a Core 2 Duo T5500 inside and I intend to upgrade as well as the RAM to make a good laptop for my wife.

The question if CPU is supported (assuming that the latest version of the BIOS). I am interested in the series with FSB800 or same T9000 T7000 series (1066fsb) shall if possible because I can get them pretty cheap - I know that the T5500 is just 667fsb by itself, so I wonder if the higher FSB is supported or I stay with 667 Mhz.

Have searched through the net, but no information so far. Would not buy CPU only for it being not recognized by the laptop.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

It is very nice for laptop and if you want to upgrade the RAM upgrade for your wife. In combination with the operating system pre-installed and optimized its own missus will be like to work on this machine.

Upgrade of RAM is quite problematic and you can do it alone. what you need to do is get the compatible modules and high quality.
I think now P100 has 2 GB of RAM, but you can upgrade to 4 GB.

As compatible modules, you can use
    TOSHIBA
    PA3513U-1M2G (memory 2 GB DDR2-667 Kit) or

    Kingston
    KTT533D2 / 2G 2GB 533 MHz Module
    KTT667D2 / 2G 2GB 667 MHz Module

On the CPU upgrade, I would just say that we forget. As a first step, it is not necessary to do so and secondaly - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

I have exactly the same problem as Juan29. Link to his post below.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=15837&MessageID=57907

I want to improve my Toshiba Satellite pro 4340 to 320 MB of ram.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 RAM upgrade problems

Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.

I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.

I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.

However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.

I put the original 256 MB of RAM in the slot, and it works fine.

I'm something wrong or missing something?

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    > Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!

Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.

You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

  • Satellite Pro A200 - 1 X 1: RAM upgrade problem

    Hello
all I have a Satellite A200 - 1 X 1 with 1 GB of ram, I installed an another 1 GB ram that is the same brand: SAMSUNG 1 GB 2Rx8 PS2-5300-555-12-E3, it works fine, but after 10 min the laptop restarts and goes to a blue screen, can help me on this issue.

    Thank you

    One question;
This question seemed before that you have installed the second module of RAM?

If this isn't the case, then this problem is certainly related to the second module of RAM.
What you could do is to spend both modules of memory in a different memory location.
    Sometimes it helps.

If the BSOD will always appear then you should replace the memory module and need to test another.

    Best regards & good luck

  • In Satellite A105-S2236 RAM upgrade problems

I'm working on a Satellite A105-S2236 for a customer. She has Windows Vista Basic - and did not come with 512 MB of RAM, so it is very slow. I went by Crucial and got another chip 512 MB for this computer - after installation, it shows again that 512 - I tried to change the chips, each chip individiually running into the two slots to see if 1 chip or locations did not work, and everything works fine - except with 2 512 chips - it shows more than 512 RAM.

I spent some time on the phone with Toshiba - bascially for them to tell me that the motherboard is picky and will not recognize 2 different brand of chips of RAM. 2 chips are quite identical features except the one who came there is Samsung and the new is Crucial. I can't believe they don't work together.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You won't believe me, but many people have reported the same issue with the essential modules. The best thing you can do is to return and buy products known and of good quality. If you want one, order the module of RAM Kingston. They will work for sure.

Homepage of Kingston. You can find a list of all compatible RAM for your laptop model.

  • Satellite S3000-214: HD and RAM upgrade

I want to upgrade a Satellite S3000-214 with a new hard drive and RAM.
Anyone know how I can upgrade the HD? It is currently only 20 GB.
About the RAM, I tried to upgrade before but abandoned after Misco sent me upgrades wrong a few times. Does anyone know a supplier who could have a sales team could sell me the good memory?

    Any help would be appreciated.

It is possible to upgrade the HDD up to 30 GB.
The BIOS should recognize this format without any problem. You can use a simple 2.5 bus master IDE HDD.

It is also possible a memory upgrade for max 1024 MB

  • Satellite L30-10 x and RAM upgrade

    Hello

IM missing to know where and how to upgrade RAM in Satellite L30 - 10 x. I would like to switch to 2 GB (maximum) and also upgrade to vista Home premium.
    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hello

To upgrade of RAM on this laptop model is very simple. Memory locations are under the memory cover. Remove cover memory placed in the lower corner of your laptop (in the middle) and you will have access to these two RAM slots.

If you want to use max RAM I recommend to buy compatible DDR2 400/533 1 GB module with the PA3411U-1M1G part number.
Vista upgrade should be no problem at all. On the Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support, you can find the Vista drivers, tools and utilities for your Satellite L30 (PSL33E).

    Good luck!

  • Satellite L10-119 freezes after RAM upgrade

My Satellite L10 is 4 years old. I wanted to update this change of RAM and HARD disk.
I installed in RAM DDR1 SoDimm 1 GB PC-3200 (a unit) and used my computer for a few hours.

But next time, he started to make mistakes and freeze or stop going to the blue screen.
When I use DDR1 SoDimm 512 MB PC-2700 as a single unit, everything is OK.

Will not track with * 1 Gb PC - 3200 * to use?

    Hello

    Case is clear!
    > When I use DDR1 SoDimm 512 MB PC-2700 as a single unit, everything is OK
You used the not entirely compatible RAM modules!
This is the reason why your laptop freezes!

The fact is that your L10 can be upgraded to 1 GB RAM max, this means you need to use max 512 MB RAM module in a slot

In addition, you can use the PC2700 200 pins (333 Mhz) DDR SODIMM modules and not of PC3200

  • RAM upgrade problem: Flash the BIOS? or upgrade the processor?

Hi, I jumped in with both feet and now need help to get out me!

I have a desktop PC HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk who becomes a bit slow (processor card here http://ark.intel.com/products/48505/Intel-Core-i3-550-Processor-4M-Cache-3_20-GHz). After you have added a bluray player that I noticed that it's getting a bit slow so thought I would add little RAM.

I bought a few Hyper X8GB of HyperXbeast 1600hhz, slipped in and the PC did nothing but to turn on and off several times. I checked the two sticks and they both do it. I then (plow in front) checked what memory, the processor can handle and discovered "The Intel® Core™ i3 - 5xx / Intel® Core™ i3-21xx processors handle memory DDR3 1066/1333 MHz" by http://www.intel.com/support/processors/corei3/sb/CS-031175.htm

After a discussion on another forum, that it has been suggested that I have updated the BIOS because it can allow the processor to manage memory 1600 mhz, but I don't know where to start on this or what version to selected download. I'd appreciate any help you can offer on this.

The other way, that I can see is to update the processor itself. I thought of nothing too fancy just an i5 because it will allow me to run 3d blurays and should allow me to run some apps at the same time. After reading this http://m.wikihow.com/Upgrade-a-Processor it seems too complicated. Is it really just a matter of taking off the fan, declipsant the old processor, nine droping in and then put on some cooling stick stuff?

Or should I just return the memory and get good memory?

    See you soon

    Atdot.

Here are the specifications of original factory for your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk and its card mother MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E). Based on these specifications, this model can support up to 16 GB (4 GB x 4 DIMMs) as follows:

    Dual channel memory architecture
Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)
    PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports up to 16 GB on 64 bit computers

    In addition, this model can support the following Intel processors;

Maximum frequency of the processor of the heart < = 2.93GHz
    Intel Core i7 - 8xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 7xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 6xx (Clarkdale core)
    Intel Core i3 - 5xx (Clarkdale core)

If you do not have to worry about the update of the BIOS, there is no updates available for your computer BIOS. Honestly, I return the incorrect memory and upgrade to a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. Then, if it solves all your problems, you could also upgrade the processor.

As the computer is nearly 4 years old, you can consider a factory HP restore to return the computer to a facoty as State. In many cases, it returns original full speed of the computer. The reason why this helps, because the BONE is swollen and clogged over time.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Satellite M115-S3094 freezes after RAM upgrade

    Hello

    I just added Corsair - 2 x 2 GB 200 PIN SODIMM DDR2 667 mhz memory to my laptop Satellite M115-S3094.

Earlier I had 512 MB included with the laptop. The problem is that sometimes the computer starts and freeezes, none of the buttons work and I have to hold the button for 10 seconds to turn off and restart the computer. Sometimes I restart 2-3 times until it works.

If there is any problem after commissioning, then I find myself using the laptop for hours like now and I won't have any problem until I restart.
This all started when I upgrded memory. I tried to re install and it did not help.

I would appreciate any help from anyone who has faced such a problem. I also have windows xp home edition.

On the casablenca system, it shows 4 GB but used is only 2 GB. I even deleted one of the sticks, but I still have the same problem.

    Hello

I think that the problem is without a doubt for new modules of memory installed
Maybe the modules aren't 100% compatible or failed modules

I guess the laptop ran correctly with the old module of RAM.
This would confirm my hypothesis and I think you should test the specifications with the other s RAM
