Satellite C660D is not booting

I have a Satellite C660D, and normally a day off it will start is no longer. No lights on the laptop at all. Have tested the lead/charger and it works very well, do not know how to test the battery and there are a multitude of pins. It seems that there is no life at all, won't boot no whirring of fans or lighting of the screen etc.

Any help would be appreciated. He is now out of warranty.

Hmmm, it's not easy to say what the problem is here.
Unplug the AC adapter / CC, remove the battery and press the power for 30 seconds. Having done this connect adapter only and try to start your laptop.

What happens when you do this? Is there a reaction?

    Hi michel_91,

If the drive works properly in Windows, it seems to be related to your startup disk. I put t know which drive you are trying to boot from, but you should try another. Maybe it s scratched or something else in order to test another.

    Hello

The message indicates that you need to install the system using recovery media
As far as I know that the laptop came preinstalled with the VICTORY 8 64-BIT of the system.
You can use HARD drive recovery option

    Switch on and press F12.
Then choose the option of recovery of HARD drive that appear in the start menu.
Follow the instructions on the screen

    Good luck!

  • Satellite C650D is not booting from the CD

My mother has a Toshiba Satellite C650D and password protect the hard disk. She forgot the HARD drive password today! I want to format the drive and reinstall Windows. I changed the boot sequence in the BIOS to boot from the CD drive and I like it start I press F12, but it goes directly to the HARD drive password screen. I change the setting to prevent fast boot but still no change.

The only way I can boot from the CD is to remove the HARD drive.

Are there any other settings that I can change to make it boot from the CD?

I have a Satellite A200 series and yesterday it stopped automatically and will be without rebooting, wil does not start... no blue ligts... nothing.

What could be the problem and where should I look?

The laptop is 17 months old.

    > I have a Satellite A200 series and yesterday it stopped automatically and will be without rebooting, wil does not start... no blue ligts... nothing.

Do you mean that the laptop has stopped automatically?
Usually books turns off automatically due to a higher internal temperature
Maybe this is the reason why laptop computer exploded

Now, everything may be possible, it may be a RAM, the CPU, the motherboard problem
It is hard to say what role might malfunction

I think the laptop technician should check the hardware parts and then you will get a few details on the question

  • Satellite A200 is not booting

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop computer and can't run. The system itself is about a year. I just came in this morning and my laptop was on the second screen when the system is started and now that's going to go.

When I press on the power button it takes a lot more time then he does usually for the monitor the screen Toshiba (probably about 10 seconds). Then he stay on it for 5 to 10 seconds and then it goes to the next screen where it shows the rights of author and media RXE Roma or other...
I would really appreciate if someone could provide an overview of this. My computer knowledge is thin so to speak clearly please lol.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jackson

Depending on your message, Notepad starts, but the installed operating system does not start
There may be something with the HARD drive or with the operating system on the disk HARD questions are possible, and that's why I would recommend restoring the operating system using the Toshiba Recovery CD. You can try to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and could attempt to reinstall the system.

If this is not possible, the HARD drive is ok and there was just something wrong with the software on the HARD disk.
But if the new installation of the operating system is not possible, then chances are that your HARD drive is dead and should be replaced.

    Good bye

  • Satellite C660D-124 - not always switch to external monitor

    Hiya,

When I connect via VGA External monitors (I tried various ones, Samsung, Dell, Iiyama) on my C660D-124, it may have problems switching to them. In general what's happening, it of happening very well for about 5 seconds, then returns to the LCD screen. The only reliable method I can find to spend is to turn off the machine (hibernation is very good) while the device works on the external screen.
It is a right pain as I switch monitors all the time.

Anyone know what is happening and how I can fix this problem?

What is original OS preinstalled on your laptop (factory settings)?
You use the key combination FN + F5 to switch between LCD and external monitor?

  • Satellite C660D - Boot problems

I had my Tosh for over a year now, so out of warranty, but should still work. Sometimes at the present time, the comp will freeze completely, which ensures a restart, but on re-booting, I get the familiar if please insert disc to start or select drive, the pxe rom error, check for errors of cables (something like that I don't remember the exact wording).

After I left the computer off for the night, these problems seem to set and the computer starts normally. I first thought it would be a mistake to HD but which seems to work very well when it starts properly.

Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

    EDIT - this is a Satellite C660D-153 - 4 GB memory & hard drive 640 GB

    > I get the familiar please insert disc to start or select drive, the pxe rom error, check cables errors

The PXE error message appears because the laptop is trying to boot from LAN.
Why the laptop switches to LAN automatically?

In most cases, the laptop can not find the bootable HARD disk system and this means that the HARD drive is malfunctioning it would also be an explanation for the issue of the gel

  • Satellite C660D-10W - 02 wireless broadband does not connect

    Hello.

    I bought a new computer toshiba laptop, its called a Satellite C660D series Satellite C660D - 10W.
Then I installed the modem 02 top wireless broadband.
He showed a shortcut for 02broadband on the left side of the desktop.
So far everything was going perfectly.

But... then when I double click on the shortcut of 02broadband, 02broadband logo comes as usual, he shows his support for about 30 seconds, but then it says that it cannot detect or unable to connect! I disconnected and then reconnected to broad band several times, but it just keeps saying the same thing.
There are 3 other laptops in the House and the 02 broadband installed and immediately connected on each of them.

One of the laptops was just bought 2 hours ago and it installed and connected to broadband right now.
This laptop from toshibsa is the only one the 02broadband connects not with, but it installs perfectly down to it.
Its very weird and makes me absolutely nuts.

Is there anyone else that happened and could it please help?

    Thank you

    Hello

There is no module 3G inside the Satellite C660D-10W.
Did you find the 3G module in Device Manager?
I guess that you will not find everything and that's why you cannot use the software installed

This is the reason why it does not work

  • C55-b860 satellite is not booting

    Hi all

I have a Satellite laptop c55, b860 which is not booting unfortunately. I disassembled it and deleted all the components that are connected to the MB, including hard drive, keyboard, and touchpad and also changed ram, but still the laptop does not start. As soon as I connect the power (with no hard drive attached), I hear a little gurgling noise. Not even the small hard drive is lighting up so it seems that the problem is with the MB. However, I'm not sure if it's the power supply. Can anyone give some advice on this? or maybe experienced something similar? Thank you

  • Satellite C660D-104 does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

I installed the latest version of the bios on my computer Satellite C660D-104, but it has not restarted.

Where is the place to do a reset?

Under the ram I have any triple x or B499

I can not find, can you help me please?

    Thank you

BIOS update has not this means that the ROM module (where the BIOS is stored) isn t flashed properly.
As far as I know that this problem could be solved by flashing module ROM using Toshiba BIOS disk of the crisis.
I guess Toshiba authorized service provider to have this disc of crisis and able to reflash the ROM

  • Satellite C660D - 181 Power Cord issues and can not read CD or DVD

I have a Toshiba Satellite C660D-181 and my power cord has had problems with the connection. I plugged it in and the light on the left indicating it is plugged in and charged off and my cell phone begins to lose his load.

I must escape around and try to get it just in the right position to show him it is plugged. I have it plugged into an extension of the Strip which is connected to the main outlet (and the only outlet) in the room.

I use it exclusively in the living room so I'm close to the telephone and TV, so move it to another room will not be the answer. I'm afraid that the repair costs would be too high and the purchase of a new laptop computer is out of the question for now.

Another question, I'll have, it's that I can't read a CD or a DVD. I have Windows Media Player and Apple Quick time Player. I chose to play the media instantly, but it still does not work. I installed cc registry cleaner to see if it was a registry problem, but no joy there. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.

The most important issue to address at the moment is the power supply cord. I appreciate your help. Please, profane as computer jargon escapes me.

    > I worry that repair costs would be too high and the purchase of a new laptop computer is out of the question for now
What is this option? You want to fix it yourself?
Don t think that it s a real option since you would need good parts, hand tools, maintenance and find out how to fix it.

Since you and I don t know exactly the cost of repair, I would recommend first asking how this fix could be I mean, you can request a service in your country for a price and could decide if its worth for you
