Satellite C75 - Performace problems after recovery

After that I got my C75 Satellite back to the factory settings (who took severala hours) I suffer from drastic performance problems. Games that were running with 50 images per second, now have about 10 frames per second.

What could be the problem and what to do?

Are you sure that the configuration of the OS is 100% the same as before?
Laptop slower is usually too?

I downloaded the new version of BIOS (v1.4) official Toshiba site to update my computer Satellite L500D (PSLK0A - 00U009). But after the update, Windows 7 cannot start, Windows logo appears for a while then it restarts automatically. Windows then goes into repair mode. I followed the instructions on the screen to fix. But it does not work.
When I reinstalled Windows, the computer worked fine until Windows Update told me to restart the computer. The computer dies again.

I think that this version of BIOS has a problem. I wonder if there is a way to downgrade the BIOS to the earlier version. I found some instructions on the net to use the Phoenix recovery disk, but I have no file disk and BIOS.
    Please Please HELP, very appreciate.

    Hello

Well 15 minutes ago, I worked very well with my laptop computer and all of a sudden, I get the bsod... ?

    How is that even possible...

There are two possible reasons why BSODS happen.

    (1) serious software problem
    (2) hardware problem / fault

In the case of point 1) system recovery / laptop should solve this problem. But it doesn't have t
So, I think that, in your case, the material started to malfunction.

You want to know what part might not work.
Well, I think that these details can be provided only by an engineer who has already checked the aircraft and ran some diagnostic software.

In my opinion its HARD drive problem isn't. If something's HARD drive, unit turns on properly but would not boot the system.
Possible hardware parts that could be affected are: module of RAM or the motherboard.

RAM problems can be solved easily in replacement of the module, but for motherboard problems, the fix for laptop can be very expensive in case the warranty isn't valid.

  • Satellite X 200 - 1AA - after recovery, I have the older version of BIOS?

I've recently updated the BIOS of my Toshiba Satellite X 200 1AA with Windows Vista SP! After a few days, I did a product recovery using the recovery CD. When the recovery is performed, the BIOS back to the previous version?

    Hello!

No, the BIOS don't go back to the previous version. The Toshiba Recovery disk contains factory settings of software on your laptop and not the BIOS. The BIOS has nothing to do with the software on your laptop.

So Don t worry, the recovery disk doesn t touch the BIOS and you still have the new version.

    Hello

In most cases, BT does not work due to lack of BT software.
The point is that most laptops use a module for WLan and BT.
This combo module WLan/BT requires additional driver filter...

According to your WLan / module BT, you will need to install the filter for the BT driver package.
In most cases the 8 Win / filter package 8.1 Bluetooth driver should work under Win 10...

But you have to watch for the manufacturer of modules... There are different modules like Atheros, Intel or Realtek

  • Satellite 1110-Z15: problem with Recovery CD and DVD player

    I currently have a Satellite 1110 model number PS111E-006R8-EN/S1110-Z15.

Anyway to cut a long story short, I tried to rebuild the system by using a version of windows xp that has been successful, it is now, I found the original recovery disks, but without using the cd drive inward, I had recourse to an external cd drive freecom, I hold the c key at startup , but nothing happens, can anyone help emergency
PS: I made the changes in the Bios to boot from the cd drive

    Hi nichollsr,

in our society, we have 2 Satellite 1110-Z15, and there is a delicate hint for recovery.

Toshiba has made a small mistake and printed the wrong order on the CD. You only need to change the order of the Recovery CD. No.. 1 is no. 2 and vice versa.

Insert the diskette n ° 2, hold down the 'C' key and the recovery is expected to begin. If your laptop does not identify external drive-Freecom CD try to hold the 'U' key to boot from USB.

  • Tecra M8-S8011X - a few problems after recovery

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help.
This has been driving me crazy for a few weeks now.

I have the above model and will give it to my cousin who start College and used the recovery DVDs created when I bought it all first to restore the system to a fresh out of the box state.

The installation went well, I was invited for two recovery DVDs. The DVD Apps & drivers has not been requested or necessary.

At the first boot of Windows XP but I had a few problems - every time Windows starts up I get a box with the title 'WARNING' and the message: ' cannot Access Volume Control! "my only choice is to hit"OK ".

In fact all of the sound card is not found at all - in device manager only codecs are listed under devices Audio Audio Realtek High definition or whatever it is supposed to be is not listed at all - no exclamation point, no Red Cross, the system can't even it's supposed to be there.

I tried to re - install the driver by downloading it from the site, tried DVD drivers, tried to install it manually too Toshiba and Apps... Nothing - the system never recognize it - so I have no sound.

Also first when Windows starts the "new hardware device" Assistant come to ask to install drivers for a "PCI memory controller" - I did this 'automatically' and manually and connected to the internet and it even manually to the file where I extracted the driver files for the Intel chipset (also downloaded from the page download driver model) - manually but it always ended said that he did find the correct drivers for the hardware...

Just for the heck of it I have re-directed the recovery discs from scratch in case something was wrong the first time - but it's the same exact results... I find myself with no noise, the error of the volume control and the list in Device Manager that the PCI memory controller cannot start becaue it doesn't have the correct drivers.

The only information listed under it is:
    Feature: unknown
    Manufacturer: unknown
Location: PCI Bus 2, device 0, function 0

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

    Hello

All I think that this is not a European model of Toshiba and that is why I first know whether the Win XP should be preinstalled.
I think that the Vista must be preinstalled and that is why I am asking about the Win XP on this laptop however

    Just something about your problems;
The audio problem is known to me using Win XP.
Needs 2 Realtek sound card windows XP hotfixes/patches.
You need to first install the AUDIO KB888111 patch before KB835221 will follow you with the Realtek audio driver installation.

According to the memory controller PCI.
This feature is supported only by the Vista operating system and therefore the Win XP drivers are not available

    Welcome them

    Hello

As I see that you posted several discussions on the same issues. I imagine that you are not happy because of all these issues.
    (1) what to write about BSOD? Nobody here can say with certainty why this happen. As you know, it may be because of some software pre-installed. Who knows what you have installed on your laptop? Accurate diagnosis is definitely not possible.
    (2) install all the missing drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities. Each of them should be available on the Toshiba U.S. support page.
    (3) in this regard, we can only speculate. The fact is that this model of laptop pre-installed with Windows XP Home edition and optimized operating system should work well and smoothly.
    (4) I don't know what answer you expect on this subject. Make sure that the network adapter is properly installed. All others you must clarify with network administrator in your company or your Internet service provider
    (5) no comments for this.

I lowered my Satellite P300-212 from Vista to XP. I used an installation Win XP CD of Win professional XP including Service Pack 3.
Then I installed all the drivers from the Toshiba site.
    But I still have a yellow! in the Device Manager to the "Audio device on High Definition Bus". The details of this device show "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_1002 & DEV_AA01 & SUBSYS_00AA0100 & REV_1001\5 & 3B6F18F1 & 0 & 0001"
So I don't know, what driver I need to take to solve this problem. Rather, modemdriver etc are all installed and work fine!

    Restart the unit.

In addition you must update Win XP for the last State because there are many patches that are required under Win XP latest series laptop.

  • Satellite 2210CDT: two problems after installing Win XP

Hello! Maby it sounds funny but I found Toshiba Satellite 2210CDT inside my closet, installed Windows XP (oem supplied with the mouse, I bought some time ago) and it works!
The only problems I have are:
    * When the system is in hibernation, it is impossible to 'wake up' (I remmember in Win98 in this laptop there is problem);
    * I don't really have the tools provided with Win98 came with the laptop (ie.battery status and so...)

    Appreciate the help, Mike

PS sorry if I post in a bad place in the forum, but this is my first post (I hope you can understend...)

    Hello

Satellite 2210CDT is an ancient and you should be lucky that Windows XP runs on you laptop.
But this unit has been designed and delivered before the era Windows XP started.
I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and there is no drivers for Windows XP. I found drivers only for W2k and Win98.
Unfortunately, if you use the Win XP on your laptop you must do without drivers Toshiba, tools and utilities.

I found a utility to do Hibernation for Win98 on the Toshiba site. I think that this is a utility that is important to use the hibernation mode. But as I said, it is available for Win98.

  • Satellite L50D - Boot problems after replacing the hard drive

I just upgraded my hard drive of the pathetic crod 5400 they provide to a SSHD@7200rpm, but now have a major issue.

I initially image the operating system from the old hard drive to the new drive and have had chronic start-up problems (1-3-4 attempts to start to succeed if it fails at any time (often to the Toshiba start screen)).

I reinstalled from a drive under Win 8.1 plain own ENT (trying to avoid the bloatware) and it is exactly the same number and is what I used to format the laptop very well with previously and had previously worked.

I tried reformatting and reinstalling (by removing all partitions on each attempt) to the CSM, unsafe UEFI and UEFI secure. MCS is a straight line never works not proceed and both UEFI methods have the same exact result.

I tried with original restore disks and it seems to work (not had time to fully test) but I don't want the bloatware and it shouldn't be serious since, if I were a customer who forgot to make restore disks (too often) and just have to have a failed hard drive or replaced sacrificed the laptop would be now a door stop.

This seems as bad as Apple to lock people in.

So I would appreciate ideas of people to please, I don't know if there is a program that is supposed to take place on a new drive as PS3 etc (I doubt it), but that leads me into the wall, and will be the last time that I consider Toshiba as anything other than a joke, if there is no solution.

I had to replace the hard disks many times in my previous Toshiba laptops and were devoid of this crod, it has something to do with UEFI which seems more a nuisance than a help right now.

    TIA.

    Hello

In my opinion, you should first check if the startup problem is related to the new installed HARD drive or new installed system.
You said that the laptop fails to start up often to the Toshiba start screen.

The splash screen appears during the POST (power on self-test) procedure. During this test, the material will be checked.
I m wondering if the hybrid SSD/HDD isn't recognised by the BIOS during this particular step.

From my point of few, this could be the reason why the system cannot be started.

    Another important note:
The 8.1 win requires enable start secure as well as the UEFI boot mode.
Therefore, you must enable both options in the BIOS.

Last but not least check if you are using the latest BIOS version as latest firmware for the hybrid SSD/HDD
