Satellite C850-19Z - boot loop error

I have a Toshiba Satellite C850 - 19Z on Windows 8. I got it for about 18 months.

At startup, the Toshiba logo comes up as usual. Then a blue error screen comes up with a:(émoticône & dit le portable devra redémarrer.) The Toshiba logo rises again with 'AutoFix preparation', then the screen turns off. Still on but blank, & then it just keep looping it. I took it for my University COMPUTER support, they tried to recover with a disc of Windows 8, but it did not work. I contacted Toshiba, they sent me the 8 step guide to recover the hard disk (0 to start holding), but after selecting Yes, it just goes back in the loop again.

Hoping someone can help. It just happened out of the blue when I was not even in the room. I've accepted the fact that I will lose everything on it, but if there was a way to run and save all my stuff, this would be ideal!

It's not easy help this issue.
In my opinion the best test would be USB or DVD recovery recovery recovery image installation, but somehow I feel you didn't create this recovery, right media?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 / 07C - PSK1JA-07C017.
To get a little more life out of it, I've updated yesterday with a SSD and 8 GB memory.

The SSDS works perfectly and I have installed OS and all the drivers and software.
However, the memory causes a boot loops. I returned to the standard 2 x 2 GB memory at the moment.

With the new memory installed, the computer startup-loops. When you try to start Windows, the computer will appear at the stage of loading Windows (the boot animation) and then restarts.
I tried to start with the recovery discs, and it arrives at the stage of loading of Windows Setup, and then restarts.
She will continue trying to start, then by restarting (then repeat), until I turn it off.

    The memory I installed is Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 (2 x 4 GB):
    http://www.Corsair.com/cmso8gx3m2a1333c9.html

For me, it looks like the same specifications that the modules of memory Kingston 4 GB listed on the Toshiba site as being compatible with my laptop:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/products/Accessories/memory/KTT-S3B/4G/accessories

I found the specs of memory recommended here:
    http://www.LASystems.be/PDF/Kingston/246787/KTT-S3B4G.PDF

If I go into the BIOS, I see that the memory is detected as 8192KB. The Toshiba site says that this laptop is expandable to 8 GB.

    Is there something I'm missing?
Is there another step I need to perform when upgrading their memory?
I don't know why it won't boot with the new memory modules in that I put.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I assume you have the Australian model is not easy to find info on the hardware upgrade. What I can say is that model European uses DDR3 1066 MHz memory modules and 4 GB of RAM compatible a part PA3677U-1M4G number.

It must be exact model described by microcens.
I recommend you use the tested and compatible memory modules.

I m not 100% sure, but I think this version of BIOS is for Win8. European C850 most of the models were shipped with preinstalled Win8 64-bit, but you've got your without an operating system.

If everything works correctly with your Win7 version don t change anything. Not even BIOS.

    Hello

    Method 1:
Try to disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.

    Method 2:
I also suggest that you do the startup repair using the Windows Vista installation disc and check if it works.
If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc. If you do not restart your computer from the disk, the option to repair your computer will not appear.
    a. Insert the installation disc.
    b. restart your computer.
Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.
    c. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    e. click on repair your computer.
    f. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    g. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair
    Check out the link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/startup-repair-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 3:
You can also follow the steps in the article knowledge base provided and check.
Windows no longer starts after you install an earlier version of the Windows operating system in a dual-boot configuration

  • Satellite C850-19Z - internet connectivity problem

    Hello

I bought this laptop about 14 months ago and have had fairly consistent problems with internet connectivity. Initially, the problem occurred when the prompt "Choose your browser" would appear. After selecting IE or chrome, in a day or two, we would start to get the "limited connectivity" message. We have around this simply by avoiding the selection of the browser prompt, but would still have problems every few months, IE being told there was a communication problem with the DNS server.
We did the usual stuff: unplug the modem for a few minutes and sometimes he would settle the matter, but only temporarily.

Usually, as soon as the first problem arises, it would be just a matter of time until we could get no connection whatsoever. The only thing that could make it work again was a complete restoration of the system, we have done 5/6 times over the months.

In any case, it happened again, but this time NOTHING we tried before doesn't work. He started by see us full bars and 'connected', but being not able to open Web pages and now tells us that there is the usual problem of "DNS server".
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm not able to get a new laptop, or pay for repairs now.
I must also respectfully as advice or assistance request to explain as if you were talking to a 5 year old... This is NOT my fort!

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Usually all the laptops with the factory settings and good connection LAN or WLAN can be used immediately for the internet. You have to just pick your favorite browser or install it also and just start using it.

In your ad I didn't understand one thing: what type of connection do you use.
Are you using a LAN or WLAN connection?

  • Satellite C850-19Z - display backlight problem

    Hello

I bought this laptop about a year ago and my laptop disappeared for about 2.5 months.

    The screen went black suddenly.
We used an HDMI cable to connect our laptop with our TV screen, and then it worked perfectly.

So we thought (while even shining on the screen with a flashlight) that the backlight is somehow be disconnected or broken. Because sometimes the screen turns on for a few minutes and then it turns off again.

We had our laptop to our shop in the first week of October.
He send to Toshiba and they replaced the hard disk drive (when it wasn't really something goes wrong with it).

But yeh we went it like 2-3 weeks later and initially it seemed to work once again, but a day or two later it returned to the black.

We shot new, we returned there again after yet 2 or 3 weeks, I did not what they have changed, but they have installed software to check the health of the screen.
Everything went well until see a day or two later that there was no light at the end of the tunnel.

Now it's back to the store AGAIN and I wonder or it isn't some distance that I can use that they actually give me a new laptop or replacing the entire screen or something instead of turning around.

Toshiba has a good brand name in Belgium but I am far from happy with the services that have been performed up to now.

    Best regards

    > Now it's back to the store AGAIN and I wonder or it isn't some distance I can use they really give me a new laptop or replace all of the screen or something instead of turning around.

Usually the laptop is covered by the limited warranty of one year.
During the warranty period should be set the laptop free for free, but to my knowledge, you won't get a new laptop, but defective parts will be replaced.

    > Toshiba has a good brand name in Belgium but I am far from happy with the services that have been performed up to now.

Well, it s Plains still if a device starts to malfunction. But the electronics are very sensitive. It's so any portable computer from the manufacturer; just something like that happens in the world of computing world.

But the fact is that should fix the laptop for free to your full satisfaction. If the laptop does not work, service provider contact allowed in your country again and ask for the manipulation of the Fryer

    Hello

As you say, the laptop was equipped with processor Intel Celeron B830
This processor supports the graphic chip Intel HD as mentioned on the page Intel ARK:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/de/products/71141

The driver can be downloaded also from Intel page:
    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/

    Choose here:
    -Graphics drivers
    -Portable computer graphics drivers
-Intel Celeron processors with Intel HD graphics card

Here you can download a zip package.
Then, you will be able to update or install the driver in Device Manager.
You can use the Advanced installation which will help you to point to the folder of the unzipped driver

  • Satellite C850 - when I shut it down it is not off

    Obtained by Satellite C850-19Z.

When I shut down it closed ok but the computer doesn't turn off got to hold down the power button.
I checked power options and everything's fine.

It is not easy to say what's wrong there.
All I can say is that you can test it a bit by using different power options.

Please, test option "choose the closure of the hood." What happens when you set it sleep or Hibernate?

By the way: what operating system do you use?

  • Mouse/touchpad does not work on my Satellite C850

    Hello

Had problems with the mouse and touchpad on the Satellite C850-19Z.
It turns off after a while. I tried the shortcut on the computer but nothing helped. I called Toshiba and they said to update the laptop.

It worked, and then he cut again a few weeks later then tried what I've been through with guys from Toshiba and nothing happens... I need the laptop for work.

    Can anyone help?

It's really amazing that you have the same problem with the touchpad and external mouse. What's more amazing to me is the fact that Toshiba guys were not able to help you with this.

I put t really know what to think about it. Laptop warranty valid for Toshiba service SHOULD help you with this. I put t know if it is possible for you to get the replacement you can continue your work but talk with the guys from services and try to find the solution.

By the way: do you use an external wired mouse or wireless mouse?

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 6: "boot loop" at power on

    Hello world.

I have a Satellite L50 - A - 1 6 (just bought). I changed the HARD drive partitions in order to better utilize the space. Then I tried to create the recovery from the preinstalled recovery partition disk (However this was not changed!), but it did not work. It was posted this message: "the recovery partition was not found.

So I tried to restore factory settings (as explained in the guide, press '0' at the beginning upward).
After that, my laptop computer goes into "boot loop", and it continues to go in the boot loop every time I turn it on. The boot loop here is summerized: + logo (leading to innovation) toshiba-> error message (.. .has been detected a problem... etc etc)-> black screen-> logo toshiba (leading to innovation)-> ecc. ECC. +

    The only possible operations are:
-to power the laptop off (by turn off by pressing the key)
-to access Bios (by pressing the F2 key)
but later, the laptop comes back still in boot loop.

I also tried to set up an order of boot device for the use of tools like "live recovery cd" or similar (also USB)... but nothing... He always goes in the city "boot loop".

Any suggestion to have the correct start of my laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    >. I changed the HARD drive partitions in order to better utilize the space. Then I tried to create the recovery from the preinstalled recovery partition disk (However this was not changed!), but it did not work. It was posted this message: "the recovery partition was not found.

This does not surprise me. You have changed the partition table, and therefore the partitions of HARD drive will be more found.

    > So I tried to restore factory settings (as explained in the guide, press '0' at the beginning upward). After that, my laptop computer goes into "boot loop", and it continues to go in the boot loop every time I turn it on. The boot loop is summerized here: logo (leading to innovation) toshiba-> error message (.. .has been detected a problem... etc etc)-> black screen-> logo toshiba (leading to innovation)-> ecc. ECC.

This does not work for the reason that I mentioned above. The disk HARD recovery isn't possible now!

I recommend you to use stop force switch:

    Hello

The message indicates that you need to install the system using recovery media
As far as I know that the laptop came preinstalled with the VICTORY 8 64-BIT of the system.
You can use HARD drive recovery option

    Switch on and press F12.
Then choose the option of recovery of HARD drive that appear in the start menu.
Follow the instructions on the screen

    Good luck!

    Hello

Have you tried to connect this smartphone to the different USB ports on your laptop Satellite C850-B252?

    If this isn't it.

As far as I know the laptop supports a USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports and it is strongly recommended to test all USB ports.

In addition, you can use a USB Y cable that lets connect you this smartphone to two USB ports at the same time. In the event that this problem is related to the low-power USB port, this cable may be the solution.

    Hello

From my experience this error message should not appear on laptops that are equipped with 4 GB of RAM. Usually, this should be good enough.

However, try to expand the size of the virtual memory.

-Go to the control panel (Windows key + C->-> Panel, settings)
    -Icon-> advanced system settings. (left)
-On the Advanced tab, under performance, click settings.
-Click on the Advanced tab, and then under virtual memory, click on change.
-Claire runs it automatically the size of pagefile for all drives check box.
-Under drive [Volume name], click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change.
-Click on custom size, enter a new size in megabytes in the initial size (MB) or maximum size (MB) box, click on set and then click OK.
