Satellite C855-1RP fail/no bootable device media?

My 2 years old Satellite C855-1RP crashed yesterday and now will not start?

I get the fail check standard support and no boot device.
I can't get into the bios and by disk HARD she shows none?

I changed the boot parameters to the csm found in the forum, but which does nothing.

Sometimes I have the password for hdd/sdd?
It came pre-installed with Win8 and I don't remember it asks me a password hdd/sdd create Setup?

I checked the disk hard where it was losing, but it's not.
I put a hard drive of a computer dell laptop work in but who had the same answer, don't know if it is compatible if.

Then I put the disc in the computer hard toshiba dell laptop, but the new medial check fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All my pictures from my baby for 9 months of birth are on the laptop so I really need to make it work.

If the disk HARD isn t appearing on the first page of the BIOS, it means that the HARD drive was not recognized by the BIOS, and in most cases, this means that the HARD drive is faulty.

From my point of view of a few you need to replace the HARD drive.
Then you must install the new system using the Toshiba recovery media.

In case you have not created this recovery (recovery or USB flash memory stick drive) media in the past, you can try installing the OS using another disc (from Microsoft?)

But where you would choose Win 7 system, you must disable secure in the BIOS startup and you should pass the CSM UEFI.

  • Satellite C650D - 12 c no bootable device - insert the diskette boot & a press

    Hello

I have a C650D that worked very well in a week ago.
Stop ok, it refused to start at the next startup.

It comes up saying "no boot device - insert the diskette boot & press any key".
So I blocked a recovery bootable dvd and the same thing came, but although the dvd player "trembled" when I inserted the disc, it does not seem to watch it at all when I rebooted.
I rebooted again & you press F12 to check the boot order. 1st is usb, then cd/dvd, lan, floppy, then hdd/ssd drive.
I chose cd/dvd and then a wait of a few seconds, he says ' disc error has occurred. Press ctrl + alt + delete to restart.

As well the HDD & dvd player display correctly in the bios.

I plugged a usb dvd drive, put in a recovery cd, rebooted & it started to boot from the USB, but then stopped doing anything after that the first bit of the info came on the screen.
I tried several bootable CD and they all do the same thing. They begin the startup, then freeze. For example, if I put in an XP installation disc I get - "Press any key to boot from the CD" usb (one), then "Setup inspects your hardware", then a black screen.

For example, I tried to change anything that could help in the bios, the SATA controller mode, but nothing has no effect on the situation.

    Any ideas, anyone please?

    Thank you very much.

    EDIT:
I just tried to boot from the USB stick with the hard drive removed from the system and the boot process continues normally. If I try and boot from the internal dvd player if he still doesn't see any disk...

    > I just tried to boot from the USB stick with the hard drive removed from the system and the boot process continues normally. If I try and boot from the internal dvd player if he still doesn't see any disk...

This means that if you remove the HARD drive, you can boot from the USB flash drive, but you cannot boot from CD/DVD drive even if the HARD drive is removed?

It seems really strange, but I think this means that either the controller SATA on the motherboard is defective and therefore it is not possible to boot from CD/DVD or HARD disk drive. Or it could also be that the ODD and HARD drive is malfunctioning. But it would be really strange that the two aircraft would begin to malfunction at the same time

So maybe the second idea is not true however, it means that something has happened to the motherboard.

But try this: access the BIOS by pressing F2 at the beginning. Now set to the default settings by pressing on F9 and then save the changes by pressing F10.
Now try to start it again using a recovery disk

  • Satellite C855-1TD begins with the message "checking media [Fail].

My Toshiba laptop has suddenly refused to work well, does not start. When loading from the initial loading of toshiba screen, a black screen will appear saying "Checking media [fail]" I tried everything I saw online that do not opening my laptop. It won't let me access the Bios and I tried all the combinations available.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C855 1TD and works on the windows 8.1 software.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

    Hello

Usually, you should be able to access the BIOS by pressing F2 when starting the unit.
I can't say for sure, but it seems to me like a serious equipment malfunction if you are not able to access the BIOS.
Such a material problem serious may be related to motherboard problems, but also modules of memory RAM.

In case you are able to access the BIOS, check if the HARD drive is still visible on the first page of the BIOS.
If the disk HARD isn't visible, then the laptop cannot find a bootable device and therefore no error checking media is displayed.

  • Re: Satellite L350: media test failure - no bootable device insert boot disk

I just started a new Sat L350 upward and I can not go beyond the second page that says; Media test failure and no boot device, insert the boot disk and press any key.

I have no disc and I'm stuck,

    Help!

    Hello

This error message appears because the BIOS didn't not find a bootable device containing an operating system.

What of the HARD drive? Is it recognized by the BIOS?
Check in the BIOS settings; Press ESC and F1 to access the BIOS.
There, you should check if the HARD drive (all details of the HARD drive should appear) is recognized.
If this isn't the case, then it means that your HARD drive is dead and so you cannot boot from the HARD drive.

  • Re: Satellite C855 - how to install drivers for devices without wireless Internet?

I had to reset Toshiba C855-1pj my son yesterday.

Bought a month ago and windows 7 is pre-installed.
I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro via a download online.
I was able to reinstall Windows 8 via USB, but when I turn it on now, it's completely empty of programs and applications.

I realize that I need to download the device drivers of Windows 8 for the model in question (write this since another laptop), but do not know how to do what the wireless device is not recognized and I am told to connect via ethernet. Is it just a matter of buying a cable and connecting the laptop to router?
Establishing an ethernet connection will allow me to download the drivers concerned?

I don't know which driver to download wireless is, like the 4 different options are to come (is it because I'm looking for another computer?)

Could someone list the hardware specification for the C855-1pj here so I don't know what drivers to download?

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions!

    Hello

Why you n t use the computer to download the driver WLan and it save on the USB.
Then connect the USB to the laptop Satellite C855 and install the driver required Wlan. :)

If I understand the question: you are not able to use the wireless Internet not LAN. Is this correct?
Probably, you have not installed right driver LAN or WLan.

Satellite C855-S5349N isn't known to me looks like it came out in the United States.

I recommend the page to Support Toshiba us to good drivers.

but I m not very well what WLan/chip this device supports that you need to check the drivers Wlan available (Intel, Realtek or Atheros)

  • Satellite C855 HDD unallocated / PXE - E61 problem

    Hello

I am the owner of a Satellite C855, and it crashed. I opened the laptop and after awhile, he showed me the Toshiba load screen. At first I thought that the operating system has crashed, but I could not re - install it back, there is no boot file.

Now, after Toshiba load screen, I get the following error:
    .....
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

The HARD drive is seen in BIOS. Connected to another computer, also it is recognizable in the BIOS, but it is not shown. There is no more partitions; now, it looks like a HARD drive unallocated. I checked the HARD drive for bad sectors and it doesn't have everything. I tried to recover the information about it but it does not work.

I don't know who are the solutions because I don't want to lose the data I have on the HARD drive.

    TNX

Hmm I m afraid the data is lost.
What you could do is to check if you can access the drive HARD and the data connection of the HARD disk to the USB port using a USB-SATA 2.5 cart.

I'm afraid that this will not help, but a check is worth a try m

If not for the workbook, you must reinstall the system once more because it looks more like the system isn't bootable.

  • Stack Bluetooth can not be installed properly on Satellite C855 - 29M

    Hello

I just reinstalled Win 7 on my Satellite C855 - 29 M and have installed the downloaded drivers on the Toshiba site, which worked well. I had an unknown device in Device Manager that I discovered was because I needed to install the bluetooth stack.

I downloaded and installed bfdp-20130924160827, then bltstk 20130924152252, as suggested on these forums, but after restarting the laptop, it will load Windows, then restart, then asks to use repair or start windows normally.

None of these options worked so I have to use F8 know last good config that worked and when the laptop started to the top there was a message about the bluetooth stack with a missing file. I uninstalled battery bluetooth redownloaded and reinstalled but it's same thing.

    Any ideas guys?

    Hello

To be honest I don't know what the problem is here and what exactly did you do.
I checked the download page on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and the fact is that your laptop is fully supported for Win7 64 bit so all necessary drivers, tools and utilities are ready for download from Toshiba.

Here is the correct order of installation for your machine:
    Windows 7 64-bit SP1
    SW 9.3.0.1020 Chipset installation utility

    Hello
To be honest I m not very well why the autopilot GPU update could not complete successfully, but I guess that the update is not out for the AMD Radeon HD7610M, which is built into the laptop.

I also read a discussion on this issue in the Microsoft forum, and it seems that there are other people having exactly the same problem with this update.

  • Satellite C855 - 2fc w / Windows 8 - audio/video trolling and buzzing

For the past week or so I have experienced a problem audio previously unencountered with my Toshiba Satellite C855 - 2fc (windows 8 OS).

I had the machine since mid-February, but it was only recently that I found that whenever I try to read multimedia files through any player - mainly Media Player Classic with CCCP codecs, VLC and iTunes, but also when streaming video and audio line - everything I watch/listen to will sometimes meet a hum and that for a brief moment it blocks on a time of audio/video of the same way as shown as in this video:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=CF9Pvdsz0UM
(not my video or on the same make of the machine, but the symptoms are exactly the same)

Although it is extremely annoying this happens particularly often - well that the time is not entirely predictable, I've found that when you listen to a podcast, it would occur about every forty minutes - I'll post again after trying time during video playback.

Whenever it happened I already had the the Task Manager ready and waiting, but so far I have not noticed any jump in CPU or anything whatsoever on the performance tab or anything that would stand out as being abnormal.

I'm lost as to what to do about it and what could have caused this--suddenly, it started happening so I thought that there might be a possibility of a windows update or some such thing to happen, but while they inspected my audio driver status in Device Manager I saw that the option to go back to previous versions has been grayed out indicating that they had not been modified since I first used the machine, which means one of the indices only I had as to its possible causes has been removed from the list.

I spend most of my time watching some stuff on my laptop and it drives me crazy so if you help me to solve this problem, I love you + forever +.

    Hello

Here are a few comments on the youtube page regarding this video, and some people have already solved this problem. But it wasn't always the same solution.

A user solved this disk defragmentation HARD running and this contributed to this day

Others used a software called malwarebites pro.
It seems that this software one causes some delays during which crisscross the audio.
    You have this software?
If so, uninstall the pro malwarebites check how it will work.

  • New hard disk dive on Satellite C855-29N

    Hello

I have a breakdown of total hard drive with my laptop Satellite C855 - 29N 64-bit Windows. I ordered a new hard drive for replacement. My problem is that although I did back up disks of my damaged disk before it failed, I fear that these disks will not work for the new hard drive.

I would appreciate your advice on what I need to do to reinstall the operating system and any contact: e-mail, phone numbers or any other useful tips.

    Thank you very much.

Why not? Recovery media created has no limitation. Many people Exchange original HDD with the most recent or even SSDS. I did the same thing and I installed after Exchange, original image of recovery without any problem.

    Just, without panic. ;)

Exchange HARD drive, set the BIOS to the default settings and try to install the recovery image using recovery media created.
If please post comments and do not hesitate to ask if you need help.

  • Impossible to start only on the desktop, bootable device error - please restart

    Hi Ericmadison,

This problem may occur if your hard drive is not set as your first boot or because of defective hard drive device.

What is the exact full model of your PC Toshiba satellite laptop?

Make sure that your hard drive is set us your first boot in the BIOS device. See your manual for your Toshiba satellite computer to check the key to enter the BIOS. Once you get into the BIOS, check if your hard drive is selected as the first boot device.

Warning of the BIOS: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly.

Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

If the hard disk is already selected as first boot device, I suggest you to run the check disk from the Windows recovery environment using the installation media. CHKDSK (Chkdsk.exe) is a command-line tool that checks volumes on your hard disk for problems. The tool will attempt to repair problems it encounters. For example, Chkdsk can repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, reticulate files and directory errors.

As Windows came pre-installed, try to create an installation of Windows 8 media (DVD/USB). Check out the following link.

How to create an installation media for a PC refresh or reset

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Try to go to BIOS option to change the priority of boot on CD/DVD (first boot device). See your manual for your Toshiba satellite computer to check the key to enter the BIOS.

Once you change the boot priority, follow the steps mentioned below.

Check the drive of the Windows recovery environment (RE Win) and check. Follow these steps:

    1. Insert the Windows 8 (DVD/USB) installation media, and then restart the computer.
    2. Hit F12 key (usually it's F12, but it may differ between computer manufacturers) and choose the drive in which you inserted into the installation media.
    3. Once the Windows Setup window appears, follow these steps:
    4. Then drag and select repair your computer.
    5. You will then see a blue screen and an option to choose.
    6. Choose the Troubleshooting option and select Advanced options.
    7. Select prompt to start the Advanced startup option.
    8. Computer will restart automatically.
    9. Once restarted, choose an account with administrative privileges.
    10. In the next screen, enter the appropriate password and press the button continue to access command prompt.
    11. In the command prompt window, type the following command:

    CHKDSK /F /R

    12. Once complete, restart the computer and check.

Important: the data available on bad sectors may be lost when chkdsk attempts to repair your hard drive.

Please answer us on the State of the question to help you further.

  • Compatible motherboards for Satellite C855

    Hello

I own a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 12K, I've owned for about 3 years, but 2 weeks ago I accidentally damaged the motherboard, while I was cleaning the computer, at first I thought it was the map screen or video that is broken, because it was weird (cutting, 20 seconds after loading desktop, colorful pixel, thin lines across the entire screen) but after 5 times of commissioning , disabling display, I left alone.
The next day it would not start at all, so I sent it to a really good computer technician, who called me the next day, saying that the motherboard is dead, and that he needs a new.

When I was cleaning it, I watched a video on youtube, which shows how to open Toshiba Satellite C855-12J or something, (not the C855 - 12K, I) but I noticed that the chassis is the same, the size of the motherboard is the same. That's why I'd love to not put a motherboard C855 - 12K in my C855 - 12K, but something more powerful, with more performance, because I want to play newer games, but I don't want to sell my C855 and buy a new computer, I would upgrade this computer instead.

So, there are motherboards for C855, who have a better CPU / GPU that C855 - 12 K, if there are, could you show me a list of computers that come with them? Maybe there are motherboards from other computers Toshiba, that match?

    Thanks in advance.

Because of the design specific notebooks are specific products and, in general, some radical physical upgrades are not possible. Each hardware platform has some cooling system designed for optimal to protect equipment.

Each laptop model also has specific design and different ports placed at different locations.
For example, Satellite C855 was offered with 6 different hardware platforms. With other words, with 6 different motherboards that may have different hardware (CPU, GPU, WLAN, BT) but also other ports on the left and right.

Each authorized Toshiba, but also independent repair shops for laptop, will exchange defective motherboard with the same motherboard model. Some little compatible mothers are not available.

Motherboard is very expensive, so you need to check the price and see if it's worth paying a lot of money to get it repaired. Four years ago my A300 was electro shock by connecting the external USB device. The repair was extremely expensive, so I sold it on eBay for spares and bought again a Satellite P500.
