Satellite C855 - 21Q does not start - BIOS flash failed

Hello.

I'm french, sorry if my English is bad.

I updated the Bios of a Toshiba C855 - 21Q. But during the flash, mobile restarts.

Now, the computer will not boot (black screen + power on wifi led flashes).

I'll try the recovery mode.

I extracted the exe file. Rename the FD PLCSF8. EDM
Copy to the root of the USB stick (256 MB FAT16).

Can I plug it into the laptop with AC, HDD, unplug. Just the USB STICK.
Plug the AC, hold + B key and start the computer.

But nothing happens. The USB is not read (no Flash)...
I also tried with the other key like Fn + F / Fn + B / Fn + Esc... still nothing.

What are the keys to start the recovery.
The process is correct?

Thank you.

Hello

Unfortunately, you need special BIOS version to be able to Flash the BIOS to USB flash memory.

The fact is that you could download only the version of the BIOS Win-based driver Toshiba UE page and requires this version of BIOS preinstalled system.

In your case, it seems that something was wrong during the process of updating the BIOS and the EPROM module was not properly flashed. To resolve this problem, the EPROM module must be flashed once more use special disc of crisis of the BIOS.

To my knowledge, this can be done by Toshiba approved maintainer.

However, I have also read in this forum that only users managed reflash the BIOS with Bios Phoenix crisis recovery tool. Not very well where you can find these software but recommend to google.

    Hello

You are able to access the advanced boot menu by pressing F8 while turning on the unit?

If you are able to do so, you should try to start the computer using one of the advanced options available in the start menu.

You can try to start the laptop computer using the last known good configuration or you can try to repair the system by automatically selecting the repair my computer option, you can try to start the machine in safe mode to access important data on the HARD drive.

Finally (after data backup) I would recommend to recover the laptop using the Toshiba recovery media

  • Satellite C855-CCI does not start - I na not create Recvoery media

My son laptop won't boot say "can not find the HARD drive. The HARD drive IS listed in the BIOS settings.

The bad news is that it does not create the recovery media - one of the many things he'll "do later."

The laptop is still under warranty, however, the laptop has Win 8 64 bit installed and I have a recovery disk to my laptop working (a happens with Win8 64-bit) - the simple equation is, can I use the recovery on my son's machine?

In General, you cannot use it. Recovery image contains all the necessary drivers and laptops both have different hardware platform.
Enter the BIOS and set it to default settings.

After having done this, test it once more please.

  • Satellite C660 - 21Q does not start

Hi guys, new to this forum so bare with me!

    I dropped my laptop last week, on his side. Now when I turn on, it's on a black screen with the white light flashing on the upper left side. After a while, the "Toshiba" loading screen lights up (where you can seleft f2 and f12 for menus), after that black screen stays blank for a minute and it comes up with the start menu (I think). There are four options;

    HDD/SSD
    CD/DVD
    FLOPPY DRIVE
    LAN

I can get away from it, and returns a lot of text (I don't know what it says, it disappears too quickly) and it takes me right back to the start menu. When I click on enter on all these, they say that they are failed.

Can someone help me with this situation?

    > Now when I turn on, it's on a black screen with the white light flashing in the top left hand sid

Yes, it seems that the HARD drive is not found
Check the connection on the HARD drive. Maybe its loose
In the worst case, the HARD drive is bad and you need to replace the HARD drive.
You will need a SATA 2.5 HARD.

  • Satellite A200-1BJ does not start

    Hello

My Satellite A200-1BJ does not start. After turning on the button it starts only for 1 or 2 seconds (flashing light, work from HDD, fan work, display blank) and then it turns off automatically. Once it happened days before but I didn't have the time to solve it and over the next few days, he has not occurred. Now, I tried to launch it more than 20 times and it still won't start.

I tried only with full battery and also only with the power adapter. I removed the HDD, RAM, keyboard, DVD, speakers, display and a few other connector under the keyboard and it still does not start and it shuts down after 1-2 seconds each time.

In recent months he sometimes exploded due to overheating during work so I cleaned the dust inside.

No problem with the motherboard or power?

    Thanks for help.

Hmmm... on this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is. described behavior is the same as in cases when the BIOS is dead after failed BIOS update installation.

Of course, it's mainboard problem but what exactly, it is not easy to say. For me, this looks like faulty BIOS.

Have you installed any updates or anything that may be responsible for this?

  • Satellite C650 - Windows does not start correctly

I have a Satellite C650, who does not start, when it lights there are two options, Startup Repair launch which leads to a black screen and mobile arrow, the screen remains like that until you turn it off the button stop (seriously ive left for about 10 hours). The other option is to start windows normally resulting in a blue screen and the laptop restarts itself.

Help me please, make things worse I can't find the box that it came in which contains the guarantee and recovery disc

    Hey Buddy,

You can start your laptop in safe mode? This means that if you press the F8 key before Windows starts and you choose Safe mode can you start Windows?

If this isn't the case I think that it s something wrong with your Windows installation and that's why you need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings.

  • Why Satellite Pro A300 does not start when you press the power button?

Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button. The situation is the following: when I press the power button is displayed the opening of Toshiba (Leading Innovation) and the disappers image quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. There is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation under. And nothing happens however long wait.

In order to get with the trial starting I then shut down the computer by pressing the power button until the computer turns off. ("The hard way to close")
Now, I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then, the computer starts normally with the photo to open Toshiba and after a few seconds, I wonder to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.

What should I do to get a normal departure procedure?

When the laptop starts normally (after choosing normal mode) stop your laptop properly using START > shut down option. Next launch should be normal.

When the OS is moving towards the low irregularly will always ask you how to start this new (secure or normal mode).
The same thing happen on my Satellite A300.

I would like to point out something that you may not realize: Windows 8
has two interfaces; the modern/Metro Interface (which may be all the)
you have looked at) and the traditional desktop Interface. You can use
one or both. This traditional desktop Interface is almost
identical to the interface of Windows 7. the biggest difference is that
There is no Orb start clicking to bring up the start menu.

But note that you can get the ORB start by using one of the many
third-party programs, are free or very cheap (the classic interface
    http://classicshell.sourceforge.NET/ and debut8 to
    http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/; my personal preference is
Debut8, but they are both very good).  And goes from an interface to
the other is very easy; There are several ways, but simply by pressing
the Windows key is perhaps the easiest.

Just install one of these two and using the traditional desktop computer
interface may be a better choice for you than going to Windows 7.
I use Windows 8, almost exclusively with traditional workstations
the interface and with 8 Start installed. If you were to look at and use
my computer, you may have a hard time realizing that it is not
    Windows 7.
I also recommend to read "how to make Windows 8 or 8.1 watch and.
    Want Windows 7 "to http://www.howtogeek.com/elk/298/45121/4206
I can't address the issue with your games, except to say that
whenever you move to a new version of the operating system, some of
which is used to run on the former does not work on the new. And it's
much more likely with utilities and games with companies
    applications.

Is it likely to be a hardware problem? I'll try to remove the RTC battery if possible to see if this resets the bios.

  • Satellite A210-199 does not start successfully after the BIOS update

    Hello

    I've got Sat A210-199.
Yesterday I updated the BIOS, and after that problems occurred:

While restarting my computer does not start. When I enter the BIOS after a while, it shuts down.
I guess all this because the temperature of the CPU:

    When I do nothing it is 77 C. I don't think it's normal: (.)
Computer is very recent, so it's probably not dust inside. And it's so hot from the start, but after the new BIOS, something bad happens.

Why this temp is so high?
There is no any process background or something.
    Is this normal?
And what about this new BIOS?

To be honest, something like this should not happen. I really don't understand why this is happening. I have updated the BIOS on friends A200 and mine P200 and everything works fine. Here on this forum we can only speculate on this issue, but what you need exactly's professional opinion.

This probably not help but install recovery image and check with the factory settings. Make sure you also on the lower side cooling fan is not blocked and the laptop can be cooled properly. If the problem persists, you should contact the nearest authorized maintainer and clarify this issue.

Sorry, but I don't really know what you can do in this situation. I don't see any other way to solve this problem.

    Good luck!

If I press F2 to open the Bios, it seems not work while the works of F12 (select boot device), but it is impossible to start anything.

    I tried the following:

4A tried to boot from the Windows XP cd and install it but it crashes

    6. has created a Windows 98 flash drive to start, but it does not work.

I visited a technisian but he couldn't fix it.
He told me that the BIOS is corrupted or crashed. Maybe I should replace somehow.

    Is this possible?
    How?

    Thank you

It is for the Satellite A105 (PSAA2U) Bios Update, you can test the file at your own risk.

A text readme file is located in the folder, follow the instructions.
Download the Bios file from the link and copy it to a USB key, go into you Bios and this flash file.

  • Satellite C660-2EL does not start

    Hi guys,.

After a few days full of frustration here I am.

I am working on a friends Satellite C660-2EL
He was stuck in the endless loop of boot Win 7 and would not be recovered by any means.

So I decided a format was the way to go.
After the format using partition magic everything's fine.
I reinstalled Win 7 and the installation was also fine. Once the installation is complete, and it's a reboot that I decided to jump into the BIOS and change the order of boot if I put the CD Drive first. If after changing the settings and then save and quit this crap won't start at all now, no CD HD or anything else.

The toshiba screen flashes upward, but when I hit F2 now it freezes just tell to get into Setup.
When I try to hit F12 the screen goes back to the blinking cursor.
If I press anything I get the white screen with the cursor.

I saw a video on you tube to reset the CMOS, I tried it work with no luck.

    Any ideas guys?

    Hello

You want to say you have a cursor blinking in the upper left corner and the unit does not start CD or HARD drive?
The blinking cursor is above all a sign of failure of the HARD drive.

I recommend that you check the HARD drive with the help of a tool (freeware) called Drive Fitness Test.
This tool creates a bootable disk that scans the HARD drive for malfunctions.

If the HARD drive's fault, it be replaced
