Satellite C855-2F1 - internal Windows 8 recovery tools does not

This Toshiba laptop not recover itself thanks to the built-in tools.
I tried to reset the PC, and restore factory default, however, both saying "there was a problem.

I think I want to clean the hard disk and manually, re - install Windows 8 from a good USB stick, however I do not see the product key of Windows 8 on the underside of the machine. Is it hidden somewhere else?

Also, if I have to re - is install manually, possible to recreate the recovery partition?

Thank you very much

I guess you want to retrieve the computer laptop back to the factory settings.
To do this, you have two options:

(1) use the internal HARD drive recovery procedure:
Details here: [Windows 8 recovery & repair |]

(2) you must use the Toshiba Recovery Media creator to create first recovery media (disk or key recovery USB flash Recovery)
Then start the laptop using this support would begin a new installation of operating system and would be to install the image of Toshiba. This image is already activated and needs no series keys.

  • Follow this procedure when the Sansa Connect recovery tool does not work!

    Hey people;

This thread is just to consolidate the info from a lot a longer wire, earlier.

Currently, the Sansa Connect recovery tool may or may not work for you.  You can see an error like 'failed to connect to the Internet' or "cannot retrieve the device, SanDisk contact technical support for assistance."  If Yes, it's probably because the recovery tool is unable to download the firmware images he needs  SanDisk has not (yet) recognized this problem.  The strange thing is that * sometimes * recovery tool works, if you already have images of the firmware on the drive... but usually it doesn't.

So here's what you do (with thanks to Larlos for providing the firmware images and order lines to their installation).  This assumes that you're 'stuck' to the "necessary recovery" post on your connection.  If not and you are in the regular menu of Sansa Connect, first follow steps 2 and 3 in this paper:, do the following:

    (1) download the zip file containing the images of the firmware

    (2) search for the following files in the zip file, and then copy them into the directory of your drive "C:\Program Updater Connect Device Recovery\cmdline":

    • everest_initrd_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.SRR.e
    • everest_vmlinux_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.SRR.e
    • yeverest_zap_ota_rel_1.1.2.65799.tar.gz.e
    • yeverest_zap_ota_rel_ext_prod_1.1.2.65799.SIG

    (3) in the same directory, create a file named recovery.bat that contains the following three lines:

    zsi_fw.exe w everest_vmlinux_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.srr.e everest_initrd_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.srr.e

    zaprecover.exe t 600000 f yeverest_zap_ota_rel_1.1.2.65799.tar.gz.e yeverest_zap_ota_rel_ext_prod_1.1.2.65799.sig

    (4) connect your Sansa Connect USB.

    (5) run the recovery.bat file (double-click it in Windows Explorer, or run from a DOS command prompt).  The line of 'pause' is there only so you can see the results of running if you run it from Windows Explorer.  Expect the recovery to the end; at the end of that your connection will restart.  If Windows displays the hardware wizard detected during this process, simply cancel the wizard.

Thanks for the help - it updated my white box to connect to the WiFi and after registration on Yahoo (without choosing any service, just updated my old email and user ID) I now INet radio with a number of stations that work fine on my home wireless network. To do this, DND to explore and syncs with WMP OK. A few quirks that I wonder about.        (1) after the firmware update, my ZAP showed that and OS = - NOW (the next day), it changed to ZAP = and = OS. Every thing seems to work even though; I have a firmware download while I was playing with the INet radio?     2) there is also a new menu item "Server Zing" that lists the name of the module, the version, and the primary and secondary server. Is this normal?  (3) what Yahoo service I - I see a small Y! symbol at the top right of the screen.                                                                                                                                               Thank you very much and congratulations Warren

    (1) no; you see the version numbers are associated with the files of the firmware (names starting with "everest" and "yeverest" files) that you have either downloaded when you ran the recovery tool, or download in zip file.

    (2) Yes, it's normal.  Zing is the company that allows you to manage authentication of audio stream and firmware for the connection.

    (3) the Y! symbol indicates just that when you use the Internet Radio feature, you are streaming audio of Yahoo (in fact, now owned by CBS Radio).  There is also a function of Flickr photos, which is associated with Yahoo.

If the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 10 becomes blocked or unresponsive to 99%, wait at least 4 to 7 hours. If the installation program does not progress, close the wizard and restart your computer. Follow the instructions to upgrade manually by using the tool of creation of media or file ISO for Windows 10.

If you encounter an error about enough space to perform the upgrade, see the instructions:

How to install Windows 10 on devices with limited space

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    Retry the upgrade manually:

Option 1: Using the media creation tool

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader). You can do so from the Device Manager.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
    • Support your default BIOS reset BIOS.
    • Check if there BIOS updates available for your system, and then to apply them.
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a USB device and it is connected. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.

  • Puppet recovery tool does not work

When I select the desired precomp and click the tool collection puppet, the mesh is and everything works well until it as soon as I leave the overlap of the puppet. But when I look in the precomp, it says it has the effect of overlap on - only, it does not seem to show.

The overlap tool controls how things work only on this layer. It has no effect on other layers. For example if you craw a C and pull the lower part of the C on top it will end either on top of the other party or behind it. If you want to change the overlap, you use the tool of overlap. When return you to puppet PIN or the display of overlapping of the starch disappears. It's normal.

I suggest you type 'Corner puppet' in the search field help in the upper right corner of AE and discover some of the community resources excellent to learn how it works.

    Good evening

I have a Satellite L300. A month ago, I bought and install an upgrade to Windows 7 (I had Vista). Last night, my laptop was working fine and this morning when I opened it I got this error:

BOOTMGR is corrupt. the system cannot start.

I did some research and tried to boot from the recovery disc. Laptop computer the disc I get the windows is looding files screen and then a company Microsoft is displayed with a bar above it and then I get a blue screen that says:

Now what can I do to reformat my computer and reinstall if I can't load the recovery disc!

I tried to put my DVD of Vista I have for my other PC, but I have another error black screen...

Can someone tell me what I can do now?

Is it because I have a recovery CD for Windows Vista and not 7?

Okay, so I read several post here and the only thing I can't think is the hard drive... but it had already changed a few months ago by Toshiba... now my laptop is not less guarantee more with Toshiba, but I have an extended warranty with my VISA... If anyone has any idea here, I'll try to bring it where they change HARD drive the last time...

  • Satellite L655D crashes on Windows startup screen and does not start

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

Portable Satellite L655D age of 18 months of my daughter began to hang on the black 'starting windows' screen, when it stays until it turns off after several minutes. I didn't spend this stage for several days, and the machine seems completely unusable.

I then turn off by pressing the power button for a few seconds, I can then select F12 with the option to start in safe mode, but the laptop never makes it in safemode, it real just data on a screen black for a few seconds and then it crashes with the message "Please wait".

Others that look, I'm not able to go beyond these screens.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Darren

Did you create a recovery disk?
In this case, you could use this drive in order to reinstall windows on the laptop system.

Another possibility is to drive HARD recovery. Press the power button, F8 and choose fix my computer. Now choose HARD drive recovery.

I hope that you can do this

  • Satellite A205-replaced drive HARD and recovery CD does not. Media test failure

    Help, please

My wife's computer crashed, everything has begun with damaged or missing file windows\system32\en. He takes to the geek squad and diagnostic test says corrupted hard disk.
(Trying to recover the data is another problem to solve later)

To save money, I ordered a new HDD (WD320GB) installed the new HARD drive, inserted the recovery disc and get the following message:

    Pre-seed execution Environment (PXE) v2.1
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
    Operating system not found

I see the new HARD drive in the BIOS, I changed the boot order to boot with CD/DVD player but still the message above.

    What now?
Thanks for any help I can get.

Can start you on another disk, mate?

Normally, this message appears if you can boot from the HARD drive or a disk bootable t. In your case, you need to install the OS on CD/DVD first so I think the recovery disc's maybe scratchy or the reader doesn t work properly.

Then, try another disc and see what happens. :)
