Satellite click on Mini - BIOS and battery keyboard problem

A mod can explain please why all my messages complain that Toshiba cannot resolve the well-known problem of the Mini click keyboard battery have been removed?

Caveat emptor, it seems that not only the product does not work as advertised, but all attempts to engage the problem and alert the community seem to be censored, too...

Please try this (which worked for me)

Turn the laptop completely off by holding down the power button.

Place it in the charger.

test to see whether or not he is totally turned off by quickly tapping once on the power button. You should see two indicators of battery.

Wait for the top has accused...

When you see that the load indicator is on the second battery, this unfortunately will not charge it. However...

Press the quick power button to see the two indicators.

Remove the plug from the charger to the laptop (not the wall) and reinsert it back quickly

Then wait...

After 20 minutes to feel the charger on the wall... If it's hot, it recharges the battery in the keyboard...

Use Bios 1.7 or 5 before you do (I tried it on 5 bios)

  • Satellite click on Mini - tablet fits too losely dock?

    Hello

Do not know what exact type of the satellite so I I posted in "other".

Yesterday, I got the mini click. I was really looking forward to it! I was a little disappointed by the quality of construction. When I enter the tablet on the keyboard dock the tablet can move without moving the hinges. Also when I close the lid (the tablet on the keyboard) I can move to the top of the shelf about 1 cm without moving the hinges.

I hope someone can tell me it's either works as expected (so I need to decide if I want to live with her) or it is a defective product (then I need to send it back).

    Thanks in advance!

Are you sure that you have correctly mounted the Tablet for the docker keyboard?
The docker contains a lock (in the middle) which can be unlocked by pressing the button.

To be honest, I m not satellite not owner of Mini Click but according to different videos HandsOn and reports, must be a stable connection between the Tablet and the keyboard.
Of course, you can move the tablet a bit back but this shouldn't be a big problem.

There is an upgrade of the driver for Windows 10 for Mini click on the Toshiba support website. If you have not already done so, update the drivers and see if that fixes the problem. For the record, the two keys work correctly on my Windows 10 click on Mini.

  • Satellite click on Mini - sound distortion when looking through Blinkbox

My mini click has been fine and I watched several programs via blinkbox, listened to and downloaded. Last night, I was watching a program and the sound is distorted. I tried another Tablet, and the sound was very good, so that's obviously a problem with my mini click.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps you should simply reinstall / update the audio driver?

But it would be interesting to know if the sound distortion is noticeable through connected headphones.

Where properly sound using headphones, the sound issue could be related to a malfunction of the speaker...

  • Update the BIOS and Windows Update problem

    Hello

I have a Pavilion laptop g7-2017us running Windows 7 Enterprise. October 18,2012, HP maintenance program informed me that he had to update my BIOS. HP maintenance program had not updated of the BIOS.  See my BIOS is F.08 (dated 03/05/12).  Manually, I been looking for the latest BIOS and found that it was identical to what is installed on my computer.  It seems that software of diagnosis of HP gave me false alarms.

Question #2: I periodically install updates to Windows.  I saw my story updates and found 2 failed: one who is 'recommended' and the other 'Important '.  I looked at the error code and they are all two "80004004. I did google search and learned this is very serious problem b/c Windows is damaged.  I tried using Microsoft 'Fix It', but it doesn't seem to help.  Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

    Thank you

    Jeff

Open an elevated command prompt and type of each of these commands, press ENTER after each command, key when done try windows update in Control Panel. Don't forget to include spaces.

  • Satellite click on Mini L9W-B-loading the battery/questions

    Hello

I just got my Satelite click Mini a few days ago, and there seems to be a problem with the battery in the keyboard.

When I got the laptop I have completely loaded him and everything was fine. I have often used the laptop and I noticed today that the main battery had fallen to 3%. I assumed that the power would return to the 2nd battery but it didn't and firm. Then I rebooted and powered it however the charge seemed to stall at about 40%.

After checking the forums I thought that an update of the bios (at 1.7) it would solve however there no and other issues have marked up. The first battery charge very slowly and seems to stall at 70% the second battery is showing zero percent (before the update it is 100%), it indicates also that its plugged in and not charging.

In addition, and I don't know if it's related, but I found it very hard to type in this forum that the screen is blinking and I have to wait after pressing each key. I had this post on another laptop.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm afraid that this laptop has to return to the factory.

    Thank you very much

As far as I know that the BIOS v1.7 has solved the problem with the keyboard dock charger status which was not recognized by the system of window correctly.
You said that before updating the status of the battery was 100%. He was wrong.

You should also know that the battery
#1 refers inside the Tablet and the battery
#2 refers to the battery in the keyboard docking station.
The battery status can be checked in the Windows Mobility Center window.

When you use the tablet with the keyboard dock, the second battery (battery inside the keyboard docking station) is the first source to power!

If you use the keyboard for the first time, it might be possible that the battery is deeply discharged and the need to maintain the Tablet and keyboard dock to recharge for at least 24 hours.
The tablet should be connected to the power adapter and moored at the keyboard docking station.

  • Satellite click on Mini - keyboard not charging if updated.

Hi, I updated my BIOS with the latest version of the keyboard stopped support. It was working fine before. I don't know what to do at this point. I left the charger overnight and it is 0%. Tried it turn on and turn off, connect, disconnect, nothing helps. Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to send the product as soon as I leave the country soon.

Are you sure you used the right version of BIOS for a Mini click? It should be 5.20.
If not, and assuming that his race that plugged while trying to update again with the correct version.

  • Toshiba Satellite click on mini - battery Dock on arrival

I bought this camera at amazon. Here is a brief history and problems with the battery of the dock.

    • Initially on the Tablet (while connected to anchor) - took more than 30 minutes to load. I guess that it was because the battery is discharged. (Fortunately it eventually start to load)
    • In Windows 8.1. the dock battery showed that 100%, and the Tablet battery rose as he was in charge. The 100% seems to have been a problem with the bios installed on the machine (which was showing 100%, whereas in reality it was empty)
    • Updated the bios to V5. Now the battery dock was showing as 0%.
    • Upgrade to windows 10

None amount of charging would be the keyboard battery. Once the tablet to 100%, it would give the status of "not charging" for battery 2.

    I tried the following

    • Kept the device overnight to 2 times (but keep in mind that it was about 10 hours only) - maybe 24 hours can do the trick? but could not do what I didn't want to take the risk of keeping a charged device while I was at work. Will try it in the weekend.
    • Turns the unit off completely and then charged the overnight (this would show the two lights for the batteries and showed an icon to load next to the second battery, but no change in the status of the battery)
    • Tried to remove the battery from the dock. kept the deleted (took out the connection to the circuit) for 30 minutes, then reconnected to the Tablet and power, but no change.
    • Attempted to power the device via a USB low power (500ma port USB of PC). No difference.
    • Attempted to remove, reinstall the battery drivers in Device Manager, try different combinations and reinstall...

Overall I'm rather disappointed that Toshiba sell laptops with batteries discharged. This seems to be very common with this model. A few people I know also seem to have bought this camera and have exactly the same problem

With regard to the charging of the battery for 24 hours. Is it not well known that this type of so completely discharged battery can be destroyed already. And the beginning of load normally after 24 hours to be constantly connected to the ca?

OK, partially solved the problem by the dismantling of the device.

I raised open the tablet taking care of not to break the ribbons that are connected to each side.
    Inverted batteries.
Put the Tablet supported (with completely discharged battery)
He began to charge (adapter got too hot)
He left for an hour or two (which was then at the 55% battery life)
    traded the batteries

Yet here, the problem is that when the Tablet is fully charged to 100% and in the keyboard dock. I guess that the keyboard dock is then charged. Unfortunately, he is mentioned... Do not load...

  • Satellite click questions Mini

I had my Mini click for about six months and have had a few problems with it. Most of them seems to be associated driver/software. I downgraded Windows 10 to Windows 8.1, which did fix some problems. I wonder if anyone else has experienced one of these questions:

-Wifi disconnects randomly, even actively using the laptop. You must disconnect the wifi network and reconnect manually. This happens with several wifi networks. Other devices connected to the wifi networks are not the issue. Windows 10 downgrade to 8.1 does not solve this problem.

D ' other times, wifi doesn't connect at all during the recovery from sleep mode and you will need to restart the device to connect again. This happens with several wifi networks. Other devices connected to networks are not the issue. Windows 10 downgrade to 8.1 did fix this problem.

-Sometimes, when resumed from standby mode, the screen is empty. The backlight lights up, system notifications, but the screen is blank. You must connect the keyboard, then press CTRL + ALT + FN + DELETE to get the login window appears. Windows 10 downgrade to 8.1 did fix this problem.

-Metro Apps will stop working randomly. They suddenly do not load. You must restart the laptop to operate. I think that the decommissioning of 10 Windows Windows 8.1 solved this problem, but then I never used Metro apps to point 8.1 of Windows!

-Cameras intermittently. For example open Skype and you see in the camera. Starting a Skype call and the camera no longer works. Windows 10 downgrading to Windows 8.1 did fix this problem.

-Battery life is mediocre. Away from 12-16 hours announced. Windows 8.1 seems to have slightly better battery life of 10 Windows.

-Even when you do not use it, the battery drains quickly. Standby battery drain is very high and hibernation is disabled. Once again, Windows 8.1 seems slightly better than Windows 10 in this regard.

-No notifications received while the system is in standby mode, even if it is allegedly supposed to happen. When I opened the laptop, I'm all of a sudden a bunch of emails and Skype alerts. It's the same Windows 8.1 and 10.

-Loading is very slow. I would say that the battery drains faster then it costs! It's the same Windows 8.1 and 10.

-The volume is very low. Even at 100% you can barely hear anyone on the other end of a Skype conversation. It's the same Windows 8.1 and 10.

-L' system clock is 15 minutes. I have manually set or use NTP, it will always return to be exactly 15 minutes in a day or two. It's the same Windows 8.1 and 10.

-The trackpad on the keyboard dock is incredibly insensitive. Half the time it does not save my fingers or clicks movements. It's the same Windows 8.1 and 10.

I updated the portable Windows 8.1 to 10, re-installed Windows 10 then 8.1 from scratch. I installed every driver/firmware update available. Everyone knows all or part of these questions? Have you been able to solve them?

I contacted Toshiba support and advice were basically "downgrade to 8.1 and install Windows updates or sent to our repair center. I have some reservations as to send it to the repair center. During my conversation with the Toshiba support they said that if I sent the laptop with Windows 10 installed they would change me £80 downgrade to Windows 8.1. Or they could sell me recovery media Windows 8.1 for £40. Fortunately, I had my own copy of Windows 8.1. Their website Center repair also indicates that, if they decide that is no problem with the laptop or it's a problem of software update, they will charge you £80. I'm sure that the problems are all related to the driver (except maybe the wifi and system clock questions). So I have visions of sending my laptop to be repaired only to make them turn around and say that he has no problem with it and then try and charge me £80!

This will not help you, but I used a Mini click for several hours a day for the past 6 months without any of the problems you describe. For more information:
-updated to win 10 immediately and to build new 1511 in January
-J' I rarely use it in tablet form, always as a laptop
-using the standby will always empty battery, hibernate works great and I use it all the time
-charging of the battery is limited by the micro USB specification, but it is essential to use the original charger AND cable
-I use it especially all day on the farm and fresh all night but agree that the battery life is NEVER in 12 hours
-There is a problem with the drivers of the device in 8.1 Win and 10 (for a difficulty to win 10, see https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...camera-problem)

Regardless of earn 8.1 or 10, if you perform a clean installation, in that it is essential to apply all Toshiba drivers and software which is their standard builds (IE restore disks). The various web sites of Toshiba are incompatible and that you will not always find everything you need in one place. In particular, there are a large number of downloads for the upgrade to win 10 (see my post #4 in https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...0-installation).

The first versions of the BIOS were very buggy and it is essential to upgrade to 5.20 if you don't have already done. Even if it still has a serious bug with the selection of battery which can causes a crash and apparent the inability to power on. If it happens and you don't know that the BIOS is originally there seems to be a hardware failure. I noticed that here a few weeks ago (https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...er-battery-bug), but you have probably realized by now that Toshiba would never comment on these forums. They also never admit any part of a problem with their products unless it is likely to cause their real grief (like a battery).
