Satellite E100-004 - can I disable media buttons as mute, play pause

My laptop is Toshiba Satellite E100-004.
is there a way disable the multimedia button panel (Media buttons on top of keyboard - mute-media-play/pause-stop-rewind-forward-)?

thanx

Hello

Please don't be crazy on my but I don't understand your question. These buttons are by default configured to run with pre-installed Windows media player. If you don't like them you just simply do not touch them.
I know that you can change the browser settings and the multimedia key and define which application should be open with these buttons.

In any case such option is unknown to me.
Why you want to disable these buttons?

    Hello!

    Using Windows Vista?

If so, you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. You can download the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

If you have downloaded the new VAP first remove the old version and restart the laptop. Then install new version and reboot once again.

  • Aspire 5920G (Linux) - disable media buttons

A few days ago I installed Xubuntu on my Acer Aspire 5920 G laptop. I see blue media (these on the right side of the keyboard) buttons started working like a mouse wheel. I can scroll vertically using 'play/pause' with 'stop' and using 'next' with 'prev' I can scroll horizontally. This is quite annoying, because I use them often accidentally. When I was with Windows, there is no problem (the buttons did not work).

  • How can I disable the buttons next/previous slide show?

    Hi guys!

I tried to play with a slide show earlier and wanted to change the colour or the next/previous buttons to image placement. But every time that you click on that it passes to the next photo! Is there a way to disable the buttons temporarily? It also appears that the buttons should be the same color for each photo. Am I wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

You cannot disable the buttons next and previous, you can hide them via the options menu flying if you want (select the widget > click the blue circle with the white arrow at the top right of the widget).

However, even if the next/previous buttons will take you to another image, you can still change them, when they are selected, as the buttons remain same for all slides.

In addition, the buttons should be the same color for each photo.

    It will be useful,

  • Satellite A660: Comment and a question about button lighting / mute

    Note:

Hi, I'm the proud owner of a satellite A660-166 (3 days) and I installed everything from scratch on the win 7 pro because I got my laptop with a home (need pro for work) version... I met some problems, but this forum really answered my questions :) Never found such a useful for technical support forum. I wanted to express my gratitude and my support for everything you do for users :)

Problem: well, this isn't really a problem, more a curiosity... I had a few problems with the key eco, at this time there button lighting / mute was to mute... Thank you guys, I found out what needed to be done, I reinstalled the Flash card software and everything worked properly more the lighting button / mute has been for enlightenment now. I have nothing against that, I prefer it like this, but I wonder how to change that... I found some response on the use of toshiba wireless Assistant and the illumination tab... Because my laptop is fairly new, that I do not have a tab of enlightenment, I was wondering how to change the mute button if I want to?

Thanks, keep up the good work!

It's nice to hear that you found answers to your questions here. Many people here trying to help.

Back to your question: it is not easy to give a precise answer and I really put t know if you can change the settings of a single button. I think it has something to do with the registry entries, but how to change, that's another question.

If you use this button for lighting ON / OFF, you can use FN + ESC for the mute button so you have two options that can be used with a touch or quick key combination.
Can you please test and confirm that it works correctly?

  • Satellite M50: How to make the media buttons on the right works with Vista

    Hello
I successfully upgraded to Vista a all parts have been recognized in the right way.
Now I am looking for a method to make the multimedia control buttons works with vista.

You know a laptop that has the buttons too and for whom is the Vista drivers available?

    Kind regards
    Steffen Schreyer

    Hello

Generally these additional buttons needs a Toshiba control utility which is responsible for the good condition of these key market.
Unfortunately, it does appear that an update of the BIOS and the driver of BT has been published for the Satellite M50 PSM53.

But in other sections, you might find a value-added package for Vista.
This package includes a few additional applications.

Maybe this works on an M50. Check the download page of several series of laptops on the pilot.
If this will not work, then you can do nothing ;(

    Good luck

  • How can I disable the button show desktop in the lower right of the screen of the windows operating system 7?

has the bar at the bottom of the screen from left to right: the Start button, usually several icons quick lauch, notifications of State, date and time, and last BUT NOT LEAST has RECTANGLULAR BOX "SHOW DESKTOP".

I always automatically move the slider at the bottom right of the screen so that it is not in the way and I know where he is.

However, microsft has decided to put a 'show desktop' button in their windows 7 OS at this place.

I DON'T WANT TO SHOW THE DESKTOP WHEN I FIND THE MOUSE HERE.

HOW to REMOVE or disable THIS KEY SO THE PAGE that I READ DOES'NT DISAPPEAR?

    Thank you

You can right click an empty area of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, click Properties and then on the tab taskbar, properties, uncheck "Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop" after you do this, the rectangular box will always be there and you can click it to show the desktop, but it will appear with the mouse just sit there.

  • Satellite L455D - How can I disable touchpad & WiFi slow

I just got this new laptop and I really NEED to disable the touchpad. It drives me crazy jumping everywhere when I type.

I tried Fn + F9 and it does not work. I looked in the control panel and I can uninstall the drivers, but can't turn it off. I like to use a mouse ball roll except when I'm traveling, so I don't want to uninstall the drivers. Is there a simple way to turn it off?

In addition, it seems to be EXTREMELY slow to access the internet with a Wi - Fi connection. Nothing is different with my internet connection or service except that cell phone provider is probably ten times slower than my old laptop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I can't go back to Acer because the motherboard is dead or I would be.

    > Is there a simple way to turn it off?

Go to the Panel control-equipment and audio peripheral slot and printers, click the mouse, you will see the Touchpad settings windows. In this touchpad settings windows, go to the device settings and check, disable the external internal when pointing device usb pointing device is connected, press on, apply, and Ok.

Have you tried to update the vap utility and support of Flashcard on [European Toshiba driver Page | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp] remove previous utility installed vap and reboot the laptop. Then, remove support for flashcard. and restart again. After that, install the Vap support and Visual support cards.

  • Satellite Pro A200: Can I disable FN keys process

    Hello

I recently bought this laptop. I have the default software installed. However, I don't like the help keys fn (software). It's very pretty, but it uses a lot of resources and it lags behind when in mode 'power save '. There the _anything_ can I do to change? Install more ugly software, but have more performance? Thanks for the quick response.

P.S. It looks like this of the fn keys and process controls called TCrdMain.exe gui. However, it seems quite strange, because I think that this process is used for the card player media, isn't it?

The tcrdmain.exe is a process that controls the keys FN and the TOSHIBA Flash Cards.
The Toshiba flash cards is a utility that appears on the edge of the top of the screen in Windows Vista.

You can turn it off if you think that it of not useful to you, but there is no other programs that could control the FN keys!

How is it possible to configure that if I start the Itunes of its start-up and not Windows Media Player?

    Hi Vincent,.

If you are using xp go to: all programs... Select Toshiba... then select utilities... so help the Toshiba... then optimize and finally the TOSHIBA buttons in the Middle, which should bring up toshiba control properties, in there, you should be able to choose the program you want the buttons to start.

    I hope this helps!
