Satellite l.660-12 q - would the recovery disk rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition

Talk about confusion. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 work after the HARD drive failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will be the recovery disk (if buy you one from Toshiba) rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS) and accept the product key printed on the Windows license, attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions, but these have been considered incorrect by others.

Surely, Toshiba must have a way to sort this problem.

They read these messages?

Hey Buddy

I don't think it's really complicated, that I could find all the information about the recovery procedure in the user's manual

The recovery disk must be created on the first day of purchase its recommended to create one in case something would be wrong with the HARD drive.

The recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff pre-installed on the notebook.
You bought the laptop and the system has already been activated so that you have need of t the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
In addition, the use of the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer (partitions too) and set the laptop in the same condition as at the first day of the purchase.

There is also another option to recover the notebook called HARD drive recovery. This HARD drive recovery requires no recovery disk. The recovery disc HARD would be to use format ONLY partition C (System).

  • Satellite A300: Vista 64 bits after the new installation by using the recovery disk

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 A300 / M00 and when I got it, it had Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. But after awhile, I started to have problems so I decided to reinstall Vista on my laptop. After crossing with the product recovery media, my system become so 64-bit.

Was not my system suppose to have 32-bit when it was originally with her?
If no, then how can I install 32 bit once more on my laptop like 64-bit gives me problems with the installation of some of my programs.

If I need to buy a copy of Vista 32 Bit, where can I find the drivers for my system, because the product recovery media has all the drivers on this subject.

    Thank you for your time.

Hmm. Your ad is a little confusing.

Why would you say that Toshiba Recovery disk contains a version of Vista 64-bit?
    How did you check that?
From my experience, the Toshiba recovery disc still contains the preinstalled operating system.

Also as much as I know the new notebook from Toshiba are not delivered with the recovery disk, but with a HARD drive recovery option.
This option allows you to reinstall the OS from the second partition of HARD drive recovery.
Alternatively, you can use the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator software to create the own recovery DVDs! And this recovery disk contains the same preinstalled OS!

    Good bye

  • Satellite L655-1GN - failed to install the new drive HARD original recovery image

    Hello

Just had to buy a new hard drive and put the latter with the former. I already checked that he was the same size and SATA as the original hard drive. When I tried to start a new installation of the operating system from the recovery disk (that I bought the Toshiba provider in my country - MAFIL), the boot option was not available.

MAFIL representative told me that the recovery disks only for the reinstalliation of the OS on the original drive, but are not suitable to install a fresh copy again. So, how can I install my Win7 64-bit, with all settings on the new drive and Toshiba apps?

    Thank you
    Tomer

On many models of laptops different change HARD drive or upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and after doing this, you can install recovery image using the disc of recovery without any problem.

I did several times on different models of Toshiba laptops. This works.
I really don't understand how someone can give you this information.

By default the BIOS settings, restart your machine and press F12 at startup. When the boot menu appears on the screen put the recovery disk ODD news, select CD/DVD as a boot device and press ENTER.
What happens when you do this?

  • My Satellite L850-18 t will support the new SSD?

    Hello

I am seriously thinking to buy the new SSD which is SATA III. Currently, I have Toshiba Satellite L850-18 t, European model. And I think that (although that is quite difficult to get information) that the current HARD disk is SATA I.

My question is, will the new SSD work correctly, it will take all the benefits (write and read speed) if I install it on the laptop? And if not, what SATA SSD do you recommend?

I really need to empty it.

    Best regards
    Luka

Yes, your Toshiba laptop support SSD. I have older machines, and there is no problem with SSDS.
This is not complicated, you think it is.
Check prices and buy one that suits.

I can recommend brands like Toshiba, Samsung or Kingston. More info on SSD Toshiba you can find on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

A friend of mine uses Samsung 840 Series SSD of base and it works perfectly. The new SSD, you can install original recovery image and start using your machine with factory again.

  • Satellite L500D - 16K - where to find the new updates?

    HY guys,.

When I bought my Satellite L500D - 16K, I complained in forums dedicated to this notebook page contained very few pilots. After some time, a week or two, she 'suddenly' populated with drivers for everything. Now, after verification not for awhile, the model everything just disappeared from the model list! There is no L500D - 16K here!

The automatic detection tool, which has worked before, now says your model is not found. Even if I search by serial number, the system can not find! Is not professional at all.

Any idea where I should look for to see if new updates appeared?

    Hi Glady,

What Toshiba page you are looking for exactly?
AFAIK Satellite L500D - 16K belongs to European laptops models and so you must search on this page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

On the European page click support & downloads > download drivers. The next page you will find:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

He's looking for series Satellite L500D and PSLTHE and you can find the new updates for her! :)

  • Re: Satellite L555 11 L: BIOS indicates the drive HARD is not installed, BOOT Manager said HDD

    Hello!

I had problems with my Toshiba laptop.

When I tried to boot my system after a regular stop it does not recognize the HARD drive more.
BIOS indicates the drive HARD is not installed, the said BOOT Disk Manager failed.

Tried the HARD drive to a desktop computer and it works fine. This is not a new HDD SATA is recognized.
However, the boot sequence itself and other functions seem to be ok.

    Who is wrong?
The laptop is 1.5 years old and didn't have any problems before.

    Any help is appreciated ;)

    Hello

It seems that the HARD drive is damaged.
In your case the drive HARD test would be recommended.

Download the software called Drive Fitness Test. It the free tool that can be used for the test of HARD drive.
If the HARD drive is not detected or you will get errors, then it means that you HARD drive needs to be replaced and OS need to be installed again.

  • The recovery on the new Pavilion partition can be damaged easily without intention?

I recently bought a HP Pavilion all in one office. I noticed that the recovery partition is referred to as a D drive.  Sometimes it seems accessible without warnings. I have not tried anything either and do not hear, but it seems that it could be easily changed or modified. Are there warnings appropriate at all levels until something changes. I guess my question is, is it easy to change or you really have to be a fool... is there good warnings at each stage, it could be modified. I'm getting used to Win8 after 6 years of XP and it worries me that before, I learned all the keystrokes and moving in the file manager I could hurt him.  I hope this isn't paranoia... just be careful.  Thank you!  Jack

I tried to write my signature in this area on the screen, but it doesn't seem to work? : v lol

    Hello

About the recovery Partition, to Yes, it can be changed.  It is possible to inadvertently delete something, a backup utility properly start storing data here and other unforeseen events.

Generally speaking, says this probably won't happen or can be corrected if it does.

One of the things most important you need to do is create your recovery media - perform a 'factory Reset' use this media will not reinstall the operating system, but also to recreate all the original scores, including the recovery partition, so that you can always back if something happen.

A guide on creating your recovery media set (whether on disc or a USB Flash drive), can be found on the HP document linked below.

Creating recovery media - Windows 8.

  • Satellite Pro M70: Where to find the new driver for intel 915GM

I downloaded the new driver for the chipset intel 915GM, and when I install games doesn't seem to work properly, that is to say he's going to choppy when you move the mouse over the buttons.

If I go back to my old driver, everything seems fine. I don't mind using an old, I'm just confused why it will not work properly. The Readme file included with it just confuses me, but it says something about the installation of a patch for its hi-def?

    Hello

I have the same unit but with inside ATI graphics card. Sorry if I misunderstood something, but why you want to install driver chipset? Must the chipset driver be updated until you try to install the graphics driver?

In any case I recommend you to use only the designed Toshiba chipset driver. It is tested and adapted for this hardware platform. I'm not 100% sure but I assume that your graphics card is with shared memory. Am I wrong?

  • Satellite L305D-S5881 does not recognize the new HARD drive

Ok. I've had this laptop for a while now.
It crashed recently. So, I tried to start it up.
I got "Winload.exe missing or damaged".

Fortunately, I found an answer to this!
I got the Vista installation disc and inserted.
I had this "PAGE_ERROR_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I fixed too. Stick of 1 GB of RAM to my computer was bad.

So I replaced it. And during the installation, it hangs. And beeps and undesirable.
So I thought it was my hard drive. I have a new. (http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/adet.to?poid=431567 please TAKE a LOOK BEFORE RESPONDING).

I (try) to install and it does nothing.
I turn it on and it goes to this page with as my enthernet info. Then I go into the BIOS and it appears. I think I could install it wrong.

    Any help?

    Hello

I think that the new HARD drive is not recognized, because you have not installed the SATA drivers!
The new mobile phones support the new SATA controller and especially the drivers are not included in the Windows operating system.

So, you must first include the SATA drivers before install you the operating system.
AFAIK the L305D supports an AMD and ATI chipset and SATA drivers must be placed in the ATI graphics driver package.

On the other hand, you could install the operating system without the use of SATA drivers.
I think that the BIOS must contain the SATA mode option. Usually it s set to AHCI. Pass this option in compatibility mode and you should be able to install the operating system.

    Cheers mate

  • Backup HD on the external hard drive with/without Time Machine backup

I use a drive external iomega hard so that I can save my Mac hard drive. I used the iomega to back up my old computer before and succeeded with just drag / drop the files I needed. I simply slipped fell the Mac HD icon in my iomega DHM and was able to open all the files inside. It made me skeptical however, if I would be able to open the icon Mac HD with all my files so it was on another mac. All information that I looked upwards on a hd on a disk external drive to backup talk using Time Machine, which I've never used, and was not sure if it's even necessary to use.

Here's what I mean by dragging my HD on the external hard drive.

It is not at all a backup. This is just a link to the internal drive. Is there a reason why you do not want to use Time Machine?

  • replace the old hard drive with nine in Pavilion dv2019tu

Max Mamory is 2 GB. I'm sorry.

AMD model series versions has been reported to have difficulties even with hard drives of 500 GB. There has never been a logical explanation. Since it is SATA it must accept any drive SATA 2.5 inch width 9.5 mm thick. However, the reports were many and not lightly ignored. I can not find plug on the dv2019tu so if it has an Intel processor, I would say that you're good to go with a 1 TB SATA drive, as long as it is not thicker than 9.5 mm. Also pay attention to the connecting piece plastic on the old hard drive. It is necessary to connect the SATA ports on the drive to the motherboard. You have to use it again.

  • Stor.E TV 2 to - the new created partition is not visible if connected to the TV

Hello everyone, here I have a small question.

I have acquired a store of tv Ref: PA4211E-1HLO store.tv is the old model with a 2 TB hard drive

    Here's my problem:

I have two partitions on the hard drive.
Then I deleted the original already installed on the hard drive partition. After I have two partitions on the hard disk with partition magic 8 all is fine, but I see partition on the computer, but when I unplug the hard drive to see on my tv but the partition on TV that he is no longer, and when I'm back on the computer, they are.

In fact, we say that the firmware doesn't support hard drive partition, but yet I did it right

are you a person has the same problem as me
    Thank you a lot

Stand by. You have created the new partitions on this TV Stor.E and these partitions are recognized by the laptop's OS but are not recognized by the TV (if connected to the TV directly)

    Right?

I think you chose standard partitions wrong as far as I know the TV Stor.E taken in charge the standard NTFS partitions to the new partitions must support this format too
