Satellite L - cannot boot from disc of Windows 7 32 bit

When trying to install the 32-bit version of Windows 7 from the cd/dvd that came with my computer noting happens.
I inserted the cd and restart the computer, but the installation does not start.

The computer is running windows 7 64 bit I want to change to 32 bit

Hello

You can boot from another drive? Maybe that Windows 7 is noisy and so it can t be read correctly.
Check this box!

If you want to downgrade from 64 bit to 32 bit you do a fresh install. This means that you need to clean your current Windows partition so backup all files first!

    Hello

I think that your partition on the HARD disk is damaged and so you cannot boot from the HARD drive.
In this case, the HARD drive must be formatted completely and then you could try to install the OS.

It seems also that your drive cannot recognize the CD bootable (WinXP?) and, therefore, it of not possible to boot from the drive.
Well, it really stupid s :_| situation really stupid!

However, did you try to boot from another CD? For example Microsoft Windows original CD?
If not I recommend you to do and eventually the reader will be able to read the CD.
If this isn't the case, so I think that the reader must be checked. Possibly it also corrupted s.

  • Satellite M40 - cannot boot from the recovery cd after format HARD drive

    Hello

After my Satellite M40 - 133 being affected by the virus of security internet I had to wipe my hard drive. The virus wouldn't let me do anything, boot without failure or system restore. I wiped the disk and it still wouldn't load up. That's why I had to do a full erase of the disk including the hidden partition.

After doing his now do not let my boot from the CD of restoration as it says invalid partition as his search for files that must be on the hidden partition. What can I do to get it started. I'm not bothered about to recover anything on the disc. If I remove the hard drive and put the recovery cd in, it excludes the disc and begins to start until he fails to see the hard drive.

Outwardly I can link the drive to another pc and he sees it as a storage device so I'm glad that there is nothing wrong with the hard ware - help please

    Hello

Can you see the HARD drive with all the details in the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then this means that the HARD drive is faulty or not fully compatible.
If you can see the HARD drive in the BIOS, then this means that the HARD drive is compatible.

But this should not affect booting from a bootable CD.
Even if the HD would not be recognized in the BIOS, you should be able to boot from the CD. For example a live Linux CD has not only any disk HARD because the BONE would not be installed on the HARD drive, but it loads into RAM.

The question is; Why you are unable to boot from any CD?
Maybe the discs are scratched or the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc more because of problems of laser lens
If possible, try to copy/burn the Windows CD using another computer, and then try to start using the copied disc.

  • Satellite A10: Cannot boot from the recovery CD after the replacement of the motherboard

Heres one in your brain is going...

I recently started a format hard drive via the normal recovery CD, but it never finished as long as the power cut.

Not to worry I thought, I kept all my data and a new motherboard was on order.

The fitting of the new Council, I tried to boot from the recovery disc and all I get is 'non-system disk '.

Then I replaced the HARD drive with a former to check the functionality of the Cd. The old disks (I tried two) both still booted from the cd and their HDs has worked fine once in windows.

    However...

When I try to start any of these 'good' HDs from the cd nothing happens, nada zilch. In fact they will not start even to a 'Beginner PC' recovery disk either, so it's not the Toshy recovery disk.

Another weird thing is when I go into the bios by pressing ESC the power upward and then F1 and try to change the boot sequence and press end to exit and save, nothing happens.

If the CD is not defective because it is recognized in windows
The recovery disks may not be at fault because the other disks also fail to start.

This is not a drive problem hard as other HDs start normally (but not Cd)

This could be a fault on the new motherboard, perhaps a problem with bios, or the sequence of events suggests something else?

    Any suggestions would be welcome

    Hello

Long story. In my opinion you should write is a little shorter but with more useful information.
I am interested in one thing: have you got a new mainboard or used one?

To be honest, I'm also confused with the recovery disc you are using. The history is confusing.

    > so this isn't the Toshy recovery disk.
Can you please tell us what kind of recovery CD are you using exactly?

    Hey Buddy,

Your ad is a little hard to understand, but if t can boot from CD/DVD and the drive does not appear in the BIOS, it seems to be faulty and needs replacing I think
Usually, there is nothing of what you can do to get rid of this.

I put t know which model of laptop you have, but I would like to contact an authorized service provider and explain the situation. Guys can you help to swap the drive. :)

    Hi all

hope someone can help me with this.

I'm trying to put a new hard drive in a C660 but can't the 'boot from cd' option no matter what I do.

If I press F2, I get the windows boot manager with an option.
    Windows 7

    SafeMode ect. No CD option

F12 takes me to Windows error with 2 options recovery
    Start repair installation (recommended)
    Start windows normally

Also tried 0 on power, which gives just the F2 and F12 options.

Can someone tell me how to boot from the cd?

    Thank you very much

    * @ Said *.
I assume you mean the flashing cursor in the upper left corner. Is this OK
The blinking cursor indicates mostly a drive HARD or RAM problem/failure.
Check in the BIOS if your HARD drive is recognized correctly.

In addition, you can use some diagnostic tools such as Windows Drive Fitness Test (WinDFT) and DFT (Drive Fitness Test)
In case the HARD disk is OK, I would recommend RAM

  • Cannot boot from disc or USB on Ideapad Z710

I try to install Debian GNU/Linux on my Windows 8 Ideapad Z710, and I can not even my laptop to boot from an external support. InsydeH20 Setup utility, I have so far disabled Secure Boot, set the boot in UEFI, compatible USB Boot, Mode a PXE on LAN boot enabled and set my EFI boot to the EFI network order) 1 0 for IPv4, network EFI 2) 0 for IPv6, then (3) no other options) Windows Boot Manager. I'm not actually trying to boot from a network, I want to just start from the built-in DVD player or my DVD USB drive. When I boot with these settings, I get the error: network EFI 0 for IPv4 (...) initialization failed, and a similar one for IPv6, then it starts with Windows. Why I can't boot from DVD or USB?

Another thing I tried is affecting Boot Legacy Support and Boot Priority to first legacy Mode (with Secure Boot disabled) which translates my computer laptop startup in directly to Windows even when ODD USB appears first in the boot order.

Please tell me how to start on a Linux DVD or a USB on this machine! It's a major purchase for me, and if I can't install Linux on it, this laptop is completely useless for me. Please answer.

    Try this:

    1. fix the disabled startup.

    2. set start on Legacy Support Mode.

    3. start first priority inheritance

    4 Save and exit.

    5. stop computer.

    6. Insert your usb pendrive.

    7. press on Novo.

    8. Select the Boot menu

9 select your USB key, and then press ENTER.

Note: USB Boot must be enabled.

A key USB bootable you have created by recovery media creator?

Go into the BIOS, use the tab of the System Configuration.

    Enable Legacy Support.

Plug the USB key into one of the usb ports.

Press the F10 key to save the changes and exit.

Now, press the F9 key to select the first boot option.

You should see the USB key as one of the options if it is in fact a bootable flash drive.

  • Satellite L505 - it come with disc of Windows 7 64 bit or 32 bit?

I had a computer Satellite L505 with * preinstalled * version Windows 7 64-bit and a 32-bit product recovery disc. I didn't create a backup of a 64-bit version and reinstalled the system since the provided 32-bit recovery disc erase my HD. However, I would like to reinstall the verision of 64-bit Windows 7. I know I can order a backup media on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/ but it says not version (64-bit or 32-bit) wich are mailed directly to me.

If I check the description of the model on the Toshiba page, it says that it comes with the 64-bit version and includes the 32-bit recovery disc. This description still leaves me a question what backup media I'd get Toshiba. I have to be sure that I get the 64-bit WIndows 7 until I have order a.

I'd appreciate a confimation. Thank you!

    Hey Buddy,

I think everything is ok and there is no open question. The description on the Toshiba site says it all: the laptop comes with the 64-bit Windows 7 version, which means that this version is preinstalled on your computer. Additional, you get a version 32-bit on a recovery disc and that s all!

So you didn't burn the 64-bit recovery disc, which means you must order a new one from Toshiba. I guess you will get versions then 32-bit and 64-bit.

    Hello!
I'm of the Greece so I apologise for any errors of syntax, I can do.
My girlfriend has the Satellite A300 PSAJ4E but his hard disk was destroyed, so I bought him a new (WD Scorpio Black 500 GB) and I downloaded the original Windows 7 MSDNAA to install on the laptop.
The problem is that it doesn't have the drivers cd so I have to find them on the internet. The other problem is that on the Toshiba official support site it is not found the laptop or the drivers for it.
So please help me find them. Or tell me if I can insert some of the other Toshiba laptop drivers to it.
I am ready to format and everything and I don't have the drivers.
    Thank you!

PS. I found this site but I don't know if it is normal to download them from this site and also, I don't know if I should because I will insert Windows 7 64 bit.

  • Satellite P100 - cannot boot from recovery CD

    Hello

I'm trying to reset my Satellite P100.
She runs slowly and I thought that a clean spring was in order.

I just received in the mail today my recovery disk (then found my original one!).
Problem I have is that no matter what I do, I can't do the boot cd.

No matter what buttons I push on I get or anything and one reboots windows or black screen.
I tried F12, F1, F2, C, f *, ESC, I changed bios priority support via the configuration utility of the material in the Panel to load the cd first, his pirouettes for awhile and just does nothing.

Whatever i can't load anything other that windows or a blank black screen, cant even get into safe mode.

    Any help please?

    Hello

    > I just received in the mail today my recovery disk (then found my original one!).
Have you noticed the same thing using two of them?

  • Satellite L870D - cannot boot from CD or USB

This is my new laptop Satellite L870D of girlfriends, I'm trying to back up the hard disk with Paragon Image Backup for Windows 8. I created a bootable CD and a version of the the company Paragon software USB drive but I can't start either on this laptop. Both times I cause a message ' media check: Fail.

However, Paragon bootable CD and USB drive boots fine on another system. And the optical drive on the L870D Satellite works very well in Windows 8.
I also checked the BIOS for boot speed setting which is set to Normal.

    What Miss me?
    TIA.

No, the UEFI BIOS is created to win 8 and if you need to use the other system like Win 7 or a Linux distribution, you will need to disable UEFI BIOS and secure boot.
