Satellite L - How to start a 'clean' installation to change from 32-bit to 64-bit?

Tech thing last sale showed me to select 64-bit when I start computer at home.
This option is not moved when it is installed.
Returned to stock, and an another tech sales show me to press the 'market', and then continuously, press F10.

Up to pop option of 32-bit or 64-bit. Simple!
Go home to try it - cannot replicate. Get something like "start on partition 2' instead.
All forums omits describe these details, as we are supposed to be born with the knowledge.

What should I do - what I'm going to hurt?
Is there another step he did so quickly, that I have not seen?

Phone number for Toshiba not responding.

Hello

If you want to change the system to 64-bit, you will need to start the HARD drive recovery system!

You must turn on the unit and press F8.
Then choose fix my computer.
Now, you can choose the HARD drive recovery.
During this process, we should ask if you want to choose 32-bit or 64-bit

But it is an option only for laptop preinstalled with both systems!
What Satellite series you have exactly?

  • Re: Satellite U305-S7477 - problem with a clean installation of recovery disks

I'm trying to do an OS clean installation of Vista on a new hard disk, the installation proceeds correctly, but in the end, instead of asking me to create a user id and password as the machine makes first start upward when it is new, it shows a login for the administrator with a message that the administrator account has been disabled , and enter another pre-existing user name and password, that I have not since this is a clean install.

Toshiba wants to get only the recovery on top a pre-existing installation of OS? It would be quite a limitation and would prevent one to recover their machine after the death of a hard drive.
Any thoughts? I look through the docs for a password by default, but if it's there I have not found it.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

To be honest, your question is strange to me. The fact is, for the installation of an operating system you can use Microsoft DVD or DVD Toshiba recovery facilities. In both cases the installation is almost complete you must enter your user name and password (optional). There is no difference at all.

I made repeated several times on WXP and Vista installation. No difference at all. Username must be entered always and I didn t notice such problem, as described in your ad.

So please try to reinstall the OS and pay attention to every step of facilities. Images of recovery facilities are tested, and I can't imagine Toshiba s people can control something like that.

  • Satellite L300 - will not start after the installation of Skype

My Toshiba Satellite L300 won't start after installing Skype.
This happened to someone else, and can I do?

    Thank you.

I think Skype is probably the most used messenger and ideal application for communication.
It is professionally designed and programmed. As you know in recent years, it has been offered in many different versions and it is always better and better.

So I think that Skype itself is probably not the problem. I know that a lot of people also use Skype and I've never heard problem described.

Anyway, what you can try is to remove Skype and try to install it again. Try also push the BONES at that earlier time. Maybe some Microsoft updates are responsible for the stability of the software.
It's really not easy to say what the problem is here.

  • Satellite U500: How to disable bell when sound level changing

    Hello

    I have a Satellite U500.

Anyone know how to disable the Bell whenever I change the sound level using the sound button in the "notification area" (I don't know if it's the right name for it, in any case, the bottom right part of the window).

I've been looking for a good time and have not yet found how to do this.

    I thank very you much.

    Hello

    Do you mean the taskbar?
It is the area on the right that shows you which applications are running and loaded.

What operating system do you use? What is Vista?
If you have Vista OS and that you want to disable sound notifications then you can do this do the following:

-Click on an empty part of your desktop and select Customize
    -Clicks
-Choose in the program window, the task (in your case, change the audio level), which must be changed and as a model of sound, choose No sounds.
    -Apply the changes

  • Changing from 32-bit Win 7 to 64 - bit Win 7. Do I need a 64-bit SCSI driver for my hard drive SCSI of WD32 00BEKT-00F3T for "clean installation?"

I am currently using Win 7 Home Premium 32-bit on my laptop.
I intend to switch to Win 7 64-bit and bought the full product and I am ready to install it. I hesitate only because a previous installation of Windows, I remember being trapped because I didn't have the appropriate manufacturer SCSI driver to install during the installation process of Windows (Vista?).
Win7 Home Premium 64-bit requires separate SCSI the manufacturer driver during installation (clean install!) or is automatically detected and installed with Win 7 64 bit?
For your info, my HARD drive is: hard drive Western Digital WD32 00BEKT-00F3T SCSI.
I see in the properties of the HARD drive under Win 7 32 bit driver running is a Microsft (Driver version 6.1.7600.16385) and so I'm hopeful that the switch, I intend require no road by the manufacturer, and that everything will be taken care by the installation of Win 7 64 bit.
    Can you help me, please?

Yes, you will need a 64-bit driver, there need not be a native driver for Wndows 7 64-bit, you can also use a Windows Vista 64-bit driver if one is available.

  • Re: Satellite P750 - changing from 32 bit to 64 bit

I just bought a Satellite P750 (64 bit compatible) and did the quick start upward following the instructions that says I'll get a chance to say if I want 32 or 64-bit. Only, it didn't. Have you regions, time, etc. and then started upward. But in 32 mode. Can I uninstall the version of 32 ome and reinstall or change to 64-bit.

    Can anone help?

PS am new long-term tragic Windows 7 XP.

    Hello

Can you please tell us what P750 (P750-xxx) do you have exactly? I just want to check tender specifications on the Toshiba support page s.

I have older P500 and I got it with 64 bit only OS. So I don't know if the most recent model is offered with the OS 32 and 64 bits. For example, I saw on the page s Toshiba P750-100 comes with 64-bit only.

Can you please check again the version of Win7 is installed (Control Panel > system).
Somehow I doubt that you have a 32 bit OS.

  • Satellite A300 does not start after the installation of the anti-virus

    Hello

I brought a Satellite A300 today and loaded it up and it was fine.
I uninstalled the google toolbar, office and land it came preinstalled with also the mcafree anti virus.
So I could install my own anti virus.

After that the system asked me to restart my pc I did.
Since then, the system cross the 'Please wait' screen
But it won't let me boot into safe mode. I tried a system restore.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

To me, it seems that you 3rd party antivirus software caused this strange and confusing problem the Vista OS installed.

In my eyes a simply, new installation of operating system using the Toshiba Recovery disk would solve this problem.

If you are able to start the operating system in safe mode and then try to remove your installed Antivirus software, then clean the registry and operating system using the free tool called CCLeaner and try to start the laptop again.

    Maybe it helps you too

  • Satellite A300 - how to start HARD drive recovery after own OS insatallation

    Hi guys.

    I have a question.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300, which came with Windows Vista.
Normally I have the recovery with the normally pre-installed utility partition.
After that I formatted the system partition, I installed a clean and fresh Windows 7 copy.

    My question is this.
Since the recovery partition does not get soiled with, is there not a way to install the disk recovery utility hard back in recovery of Windows of F8 before the boot options?

Please don't tell me that I need to have the recovery disk.
I already did, I just want to find a solution because it is not that hard for someone who accidentally formatted the system partition and had not created the disks, but the recovery partition. My guess is to do some modifications in the files of the Windows recovery environment that are launched when you use the option to repair my computer at startup, because normally, HARD drive recovery utility appears as one of its tools-options.

The problem is that I don't have to where these files are, maybe (C:\boot?)
Currently, I am trying to see if a facility upgrade of windows 7 on windows vista will keep options for hard drive recovery then maybe I will find what it takes.

    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thank you for your time.

OK, just a hint more, I found what is happening with the recovery environment, and which must be replaced to include more tools...
    This article was really helpful:

So I continue and I think I'm close...

  • How to perform a clean installation on a Ultrabook using its files of windows 8?

Pretty easy question answered before, but all the responses that I've seen and I believe, are to have the ISO file downloaded from the store or the disk can he make a file ISO etc...  To which I have neither.

I just bought a ultrabook and this is my only machine with windows 8, so I won't go buy the digital link in the store just to wipe.  That I'm stuck, it's how to install files on my USB drive and then start a pure install removing the bloatware that supplied with the system?

As I said, all of the other answers and tutorials seem to assume that you have access to download the DVD or ISO.  Unfortunately I don't have any DVD of the BONE with the ultrabook that would be of help.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming that you have a valid product key to retail for Windows 8, it is possible.

Go to this link to download the ISO using your retail product key: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only

ISO downloaded will be consistent with the architecture of the computer you use to download, IE x 64 iso downloads only on a 64-bit OS x.

After downloading, the installation program will ask you to save the ISO file on a usb port which make a bootable USB key.

  • Satellite L750 - could not start recovery image installation

    Hi guys,.

I struggle to restore the original configuration (format) my toshiba satellite L750 push button power and zero (0) button together.

I did factory restore before setting because there is a virus on my laptop. After format, all right. Now my laptop is infected with the virus once again, but I won't be able to format my laptop more. Whenever I press the power button / stop and zero button (0) I always hear a beep and won't stop until I press zero (0).
    I have before partition.

My question is why I couldn't format my laptop more like how I use before (by pressing the power button / stop and zero button)?

Can someone help me how to format my laptop the button works / stop and zero button does not?

I would like to start on a connected external USB CD/DVD player
    PROBLEM:

In the BIOS boot priority is: CD/DVD, USB, HDD

    QUESTION:
Is it possible at all boot for CD/DVD USB external?

It is NOT possible, I thought. REASON: The BIOS does not, does not reckognize CD/DVD (does not test if code such USB-CD/DVD bootable) drive connected via USB.

  • Satellite C70D - how to start from the DVD

    Hello
You just bought a Satellite C70D with Win 8.1. Everything works (as much as I know to knowledge), except start it from the DVD. I disabled the Secure Boot in the bios and changed the boot order on a DVD first, then USB and HARD drive. The DVD player starts, but then it jumps on the HARD disk and Windows is started. First time I tried there was a message like "DVD boot not supported" or something like that.
The DVD is bootable, so it's not the problem.
I want to install Linux Mint alongside Windows.
Someone has already solved this problem?

Update: changing of UEFI CMS in the Advanced BIOS tab at the start of the DVD, but Windows no longer starts. Is it possible to boot from DVDE and still be able to start Windows as well?
