Satellite L10-119 - Win XP green bar is happening and happening again

Hi all.

I have a computer model toshiba satellite L10-119.

It was working great until some time he began to delay a lot at the start.
Specifically in the Win XP loading screen that this green bar is happening and happening again and again.

I have if it can be a program or driver or even a virus that delays the start after some effort I decided to do a format and therefore a clean install of Win Xp (using the supplied by Toshiba with the notebook installation CD).

Everything has been installed perfectly, and indeed this laptop has been commissioning within a normal period...

When I turned on the laptop the next morning he started to again delay the start to the top! Once again to the Win Xp loading screen!

When he finally connected to Windows I did immediately a reboot but this time it starts very well!

Just to sum up things... computer laptop .the delays at startup ONLY if I leave it off for a long period of time (i.e. for a day or more). And as in the first start! If it starts the first time and session windows logs I can stop or restart for as many times as I like (consequtively) and it connects without any delay.
However, if I let him off for a day or more and then turn it on, this model a lot to log windows! And we are talking about a 4-5 minute wait time! The waiting time is increased according to the time that the laptop has switched from...

I tried to install winXP even using another CD but I still have the same problem.
I though it was a battery problem, so I removed completely, but I still have the same problem...

FYI the laptop is always in the power socket. And FYI when it connects to windows performance is also great. No delay at all. The only delay is starting...

If anyone could help me or has an idea how to solve this really strange problem I'd appreciate much.

Thank you.

Hello

I guess it's very old notebook and I think that the HARD drive was not replaced in the last time
It s only I guess, but I think you should check if the HARD drive does not start to malfunction.
I doubt that there could be something wrong with the battery because the battery would not affect the start-up procedure it has no influence on the performance of the OS.

So it could be either something wrong with the part as a HARD drive, you know

You can try to download the HDD drive fitness test.
This tool is free and it will help you check the HARD disk for errors

  • Satellite L10-119: update the BIOS clears and RTC battery is not

I upgraded my Satellite L10-119 with new 250 GB HARD drive and the BIOS update. The laptop worked well.
After two months a probem follow arrived - only first 137 Gb(2^48) of the disk is accessible.
    I've discovered:

    1. If I flash BIOS again and the computer restarted after flashing, the upper part of the HARD drive is accessible for a short time or until I restart again.
    2. a show of internal clock 01/01/1988 if I disconnect and connect a main battery.

So I guess that it is a problem with the RTC battery (L10-119 is 2.5 years old)

I tried to charge the battery of the CCF by connecting the laptop power for a long time, but this does not solve the problem.
Does anyone know what can I do else (except visit ASP)?

Your guess was right, and I also, think that the problem with your BIOS settings always clear RTC battery.
In other words, the RTC is dead.

Battery charging will not succeed, because he can't keep the load.
It's probably not as easy to replace then with desktop computers, so I advise you to contact local ASP, and all must be dismantled.

I'm sorry to tell you, it's the only method I know to get your laptop to life.

  • Is there an internal WLan antenna in Satellite L10-119 PSL10E

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L10 - 119 older (model No. PSL10E-00L01MED).
I would add a mPCI-wireless card for which there is an empty slot.

However, there don't seem to be available antenna wires.
Is it possible these threads have slipped under the casing in which case I'll have to take the computer apart to find, or this computer did not come with built in antennas, although there amPCI slot?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    > Is it possible these threads have slipped under the casing in which case I'll have to take the computer apart to find, or this computer did not come with built in antennas, although there amPCI slot?

If there is a Wlan antenna you would see then two sons near the minPCI Wlan slot. Usually the two wires are black and white.
If you didn t find these threads then there is no WLan antenna inside the laptop.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L10-119: OKI 8w Lite printer connection problem

I have the Toshiba Satellite L10-119 series. I use it with 8W OKI printer. The printer works on USB port. Every day, when I print a ~ 10 pages of the judgment of the printer and XP driver display statement "connection problem". Currently, OKI prints all pages. Only restart helps XP on.

The operating system is Windows XP and printer has an OKI dedicated for XP drivers. Other USB devices are working properly. I reinstall the Intel chipset drivers, I checked the printer on the other ports.

Please send a sollution mail: michaljaniszek (at) walla (dot) com

    Hello

You suggested that all other USB devices work properly on this unit.
In this case, I guess that it s not a Satellite L10 problem but the OKI printer problem.
Unfortunately, Toshiba is not responsible for the 3rd party hardware or software.

However, I studied a bit on the net and found a few questions about the OKI printer problems. There are different issues and all have suggested contacting the OKI support. Well, in my opinion you should also ask the support. There may be more recent driver. Check it out.

    Good luck

  • Satellite L10-119 freezes after RAM upgrade

My Satellite L10 is 4 years old. I wanted to update this change of RAM and HARD disk.
I installed in RAM DDR1 SoDimm 1 GB PC-3200 (a unit) and used my computer for a few hours.

But next time, he started to make mistakes and freeze or stop going to the blue screen.
When I use DDR1 SoDimm 512 MB PC-2700 as a single unit, everything is OK.

Will not track with * 1 Gb PC - 3200 * to use?

    Hello

    Case is clear!
    > When I use DDR1 SoDimm 512 MB PC-2700 as a single unit, everything is OK
You used the not entirely compatible RAM modules!
This is the reason why your laptop freezes!

The fact is that your L10 can be upgraded to 1 GB RAM max, this means you need to use max 512 MB RAM module in a slot

In addition, you can use the PC2700 200 pins (333 Mhz) DDR SODIMM modules and not of PC3200

    Hello

It looks like a hardware problem. I mean if you didn t install anything or anyone pays (for example) some liquids on the machine, then the motherboard could be defective.

The problem is that the machine is probably more under warranty and you will have to pay for a repair. But if you still want to keep the machine for a long time then click on the following link and contact an ASP (Authorized Service Partner) for a hardwarecheckup or a repair:

Sorry, mate, but I think that your machine is mounted to heaven. :(

  • Satellite L10-192: Video Out (TV screen is black and white)

    Hello

I recently bought a new notebook Satellite L10-192, and I have trouble with the video out of service.

The image on the TV screen is black and white. I have read and followed the instructions of the manual (indicate the video mode PAL B, etc.), but it is always black and white.

I have Win XP Pro without Service Pack.

Anyone has any advice on this problem? Can I change the resolution or color depth or install Service Packs? Or a Toshiba from the factory CD utility?

    Thanks in advance,

    Zoltan

    Hello

In my opinion, your settings on the laptop are right but please check your TV also. I put t know if your TV is a S-video port or you use a S-video adapter. Please check menu TV. Maybe it's for S-video option in the port.

If the TV doesn't have a S-video port, you can connect your unit as follows:
    (1) SVID-adapter that brings back the color! It works with any device with an s-video signal through a plug 4-pin or 7-pin. http://www.s-vid.de/images/SVID.gif
    (2) SCART - / adapter S-video http://www.mediaatlantic.com/product.php/366/1142//8aa0b1bbaf6020c785221873b2a985bd

What's the problem? It seems that the laptop works well, but Microsoft Office programs are not installed. Am I wrong?

If you need these programs, you must install it again. If you n t have this CD, you must buy it! All that s

PS; The recovery CD Toshiba does not contain Microsoft Office applications!
Some recovery CD contains Microsoft OneNote, but not Microsoft Office!

  • Satellite L10-119 RAM upgrade

    Nice day!
I have two 512 MB DDR1 modules for my L10 (Kingston KVR333X64SC25/512). But he individual digits in the serial number. A module is * 9905065 - 008.A00LF * (1 rank, 4 banks of tests "Everest") and any other module markered * 9905064 - 020.A00LF * (2 rows, 4 banks). Chips on the module of RAM are also different manufacturers - Samsung (9905065 - 008.A00LF) and another company, Samsung, or Kingston.
    * Can I use this module as a whole? *

    Very very thanks!

After the use of RAM SoDimm DDR 1 GB PC-3200 (KVR400...) about 2 days...)), I'm afraid of all experiences!)))

I put t know if the different modules will work but normally the RAM from various manufacturers modules could cause problems like the laptop doesn't start or you will get freezes or something else.

In your case, I would use only the manufacturing even modules with the same specifications. It is the best way.

  • Satellite L10-119 out of hibernation when moved...

    Hello

I have a strange problem with my Satellite. He goes in and out of hibernation with no problems but when her hibernation and I want to move the laptop to put for example in my bag it comes suddenly from hibernation. She does this on a sign of mild shock, touch and movement. The problem is even more strange that it disappears when I plug the power - Hibernate the laptop's rock then stable and it is only started when I open the lid or press the power button.
A that someone has experienced this problem? Hibernation is very useful and I can't enable on-the-go, as my computer starts to turn :(

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never heard of this. I use the mode standby and hibernation on both of my books and if the screen cover is closed properly I can do whatever I want and turn around. The laptop is OFF. After opening the cover of the display unit turns on automatically.

There is the same situation with sleep mode?

  • Satellite L10-119: during movie laptop computer into hibernation.

I wa I watch a movie and then my notebook enter into hibernation. Whenever I try to re - open, allowed the first left to start computer laptop mowing, and that's it. Anyone know why?

    Hello

Have you used the battery or the AC adapter if you watch movies?
Also I know the System Standby Automatic/Hibenation feature automatically shuts down the system in sleep or hibernation mode when there is no input or material of access for a specified time.
To specify the time, click Start, Control Panel, performance and Maintenance, Power Options. The power management tab, you can select time to sleep or Hibernate.

Please give me a feedback if it works.

  • Satellite L655-1HC: win 8.1 Fan still work and / is not closed

    Hello everyone,

I have laptop L655-1HC owner, part no: PSK1JE-0GT00XAR, where am facing 2 problems I couldn't solve until now.
First of all, the fan continues to work always and stops any bothers me really.

Second, when closing, windows turns off but the machine continues to work with the fan and never stops unless I stopped it with the key switch seconds, even when I close the lid, windows turns off but the machine continues to work with the fan, at the opening of the lid it is freezing just until I stopped it manually through the switch.

Before two or three days windows crashed down and I formatted the laptop and upgraded to windows pro 8.1 and since updated, I was faced with these issues.

    Hello

I think that the problem is related to the system Windows 8.1
Probably it of not known you 8 Win and Win 8.1 does not power the unit off by default. The laptop will be defined in hybrid close mode that allows you to boot up the laptop faster.

I guess this could be the reason for your problem and recommend that you deactivate this mode.
Please check this document Toshiba how to do this:

  • Re: Chinese words after update Bios on Satellite L100 119

I updated my Bios from notebook Satellite L100 - 119 PSLA3E with version 3.20 wordwide and after that my Bios words become Chinese.

Someone at - he first bios?

    Plese help me.

    It's strange
Did you use the BIOS from the European driver Toshiba page?

This book belongs to the European series of Toshiba and if you want to update the BIOS then you must use the BIOS from Europe!

Anyway, the last BISO on page 3, 20-win and it's only the BIOS which is available
If you need an earlier version, then you will need to contact the Toshiba ASP in your country for a maybe version older, they could help

But check the BIOS again access the settings and set its default value
Then save the changes and the new boot
    Maybe it helps
