Satellite L20: Can I disconnect devices such as USB mouse without turning off the power?

Hi all.
I am owner of laptop Satellite L20. I always turned off power to my computer when I need to connect or disconnect a USB device. Some devices have a special icon on the toolbar disconnect them, but some don't (FDD USB or flash drives). Can I disconnect and connect devices such as mouse USB or Scanner wihtout turning off the power?

Hello

You can disconnect the external USB devices without turning off the unit, but you must use the option "remove hardware" before you cut the material.
The icon "Remove hardware" usually appears with resources such as hard drives or USB key have the ability to buffer data. It of necessary for this buffer to the device before emptying it is disconnected

You define 'Action close lid' to the 'status quo' instead of sleep or Shut down:
Go to-> double click "Power Options" Control Panel-> 'Select a power plan' under your selected plan, click "Change plan settings"-> "Change plan", click on the blue link 'Change advanced power'-> in 'Advanced settings' tab expand "power buttons and lid"-> extend the action of the 'close' lid, set "on battery" and "Plugged in" to "Do nothing"-> click apply-> OK button

    Hello

first of all, excuse my bad English please.

Since 2 days I have the satellite X 200-203 portable and my first problem is that the battery does not load.
When I connect the power he works very well, but did I unplug the power replisse or the laptop turns off. under vista it shows me always a 89% battery power, ALWAYS.

    What can I do?
at least, the satellite logo lights up red annymore.

    Thank you

    Hello

According to your description, the battery provides the laptop with power.
In my opinion there is problem with the battery itself or electronic supply on the motherboard.
I think that it of a failure of battery, but to be 100% sure that the audit of the books is necessary!

The X 200 is a new series of laptop so I'm 100% sure that the guarantee is valid. Am I wrong?

If you shouldn't t waste time and contact the service provider authorized in your country.
The guys of the explain your situation and ask for later handling.

Each cheque replacement and part is done for free!

Good luck & congratulations guy ;)

  • Satellite P300 - randomly turns off the power when connected to the external monitor

    Hello

    I have a Satellite P300, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB, running Windows 7 ultimate x 64.

Recently, I bought an AOC v22 led screen and connect my conputer via HDMI. Everything works fine, but sometimes my computer off just randomly. I might have something to do with my computer overheating, so I clean the fan, but this was not good.

I think it has something to do with the LED screen because my computer was never off his own.

    Hello

So this also happens if you n t connect laptop to external display? So, you can determine what is causing this problem.

If the computer laptop doesn t turn off without external monitor, you should try to update the BIOS and the display driver. Two updates that you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

You close the lid if you have connected the external monitor?
What operating system do you use?

In addition, it would be interesting to know how you clean the laptop. That's why I use the jet of compressed air that can blow the dust from the cooling fans and you don't have to disassemble the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A100 - turns off the power after 60 seconds

After pressing the power button, the laptop starts but 60 seconds from the moment it is activated, the it turns off suddenly?

The fan turns, I tried cutting dvd, wireless, modem, ram, hard drive, it opens and clean all the dust. It turns off after 60 seconds exactly every time

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    Ben

    Hello

    > and clean any dust
    How did you do that?
Usually, you can use jet of compressed air to clean the laptop and remove the dust that blocks the fan. That is why it s not necessary to disassemble the laptop as you can read here:

This is a new Board of Directors with processor AMD II 4 GB Ram.

    Watache,
Try to start with clean boot and the removal of all external devices (except keyboard and mouse).  Then, after that the PC is running for a few minutes, try and closed.  See if you get a different result.  Also, make sure that you are up-to-date with the Windows updates, and hardware drivers.

Follow the steps in this article to resolve problems with a clean boot.

Advanced problem resolution by clean restart.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Satellite Pro S500-139 - FN + F9 key does not have to turn off the touchpad

    Hello

I use a Satellite Pro S500-139 and am having problems with my F9 key. When I tap my palm touches the mouse and send the cursor somewhere else on the page. I reinstalled the ALPS pointing device and now have access to the Advanced setting that I was not able to get.

Although I can set the sensitivity etc. I would really be able to use the shortcut to disable the mouse momentarily while typing. My keyboard shows that, if I press fn and F9 the i should be able to disable the mouse but the function does not work. F9 all other functions seem to work.

Do you know if there is a solution to this?

I am running windows 7 pro 32-bit service pack 1.

  • Turn off the problem on Satellite Pro A210

I'm having a problem with my Satellite Pro A210, running on XP. It seems to turn off without reason. I don't think it's a problem of overheating as it can sometimes after only a few minutes of use, and can stay on the day without problem. It is as if he goes into hibernation, although the blue power light remains on, but cannot be restarted without turning off the power and then walk back.

Someone at - it ideas? Thank you.

  • How can S2340T, I turn off the touch function?

I am running the S2340T monitor on a Windows Pro 8.1 System.  Touch calibration occasionally goes haywire, but I've always been able to open the tool pen and Touch and recalibrate.  Except that now, it doesn't seem to be "holding".

As I rarely use the tactile aspect of the screen and am completely comfortable with my trackball mouse, I would just turn the tactile aspect * off *.

How can I do this?  I know that you go to the Device Manager, but how to know what 'Human Interface' element it is?  I'm a gamer, so I have a * lot * of human interface elements.

    Thank you!

Disconnect the monitor cable computer USB upstream will turn off the monitor to "touch" feature This means that you will not be able to use one of the USB ports monitor downstream.

  • How can I turn off the laptop after restoring it to factory settings?

    Hello everyone

I'm selling my Portege R830-10 q If I want to restore it to the settings to factory (out-of-box state) AND THEN TURN IT OFF.

I brought the laptop to factory settings successfully using the _TOSHIBA recovery Wizard_ and choosing * factory default software recovery (Recover State out-of-box) *. However, at the end of the process of recovery and after everything is back in place I was not able to TURN off the POWER to the laptop. It only gave me the option to restart. After rephrasing it, the Windows installation process starts.

I don't want to install Windows, i.e. language, keyboard, user account, etc. I want to leave the Windows installation for the person buying the laptop to me. How can I turn off the laptop after the recovery of the system without having to install Windows?

    I would appreciate your help.

    Concerning

    Pedro

When the recovery process is complete and you are prompted for a reboot just press start button / stop and turn it off. I think it's only thing you can do.

Anyway, why not start Windows and go through the configuration option. New owner can modify this basic anyway parameters. As username Admin and language and the keyboard can be set as default.

For example, if you have a picture of German recovery set to German. New owner can change in any case.

  • How can I change/turn off the led under the speakers on Satellite P100?

How can I change/turn off the led under the speakers? (in Satellite P100 (PSPA6E))
Now I see the light only in the left side, but when I bought the computer left and right led line lights blue under the speakers.

Gazz's right. It is not possible to switch off the LEDs. If just one LED is on the other must be faulty. Contact the customer Service of your country partner. I'm sure they can disconnect one too if you n t need her.

No matter what I do, I can't turn off the microphone of shit, he's always watching on my speakers, I have all the right settings in the sound control panel... believe me!

Does anyone know how to disable the security...

    * monitor on my speakers even when I uninstalled all the sounddrivers! ... * it seems to be a bios problem... HEEEEELP!

is there perhaps a bios fix?... or no solution at all on this model, I use win 7 32 bit...

    Hi leon-k,.

Usually, you can cut the speakers in the Windows sound settings. Go to control panel > hardware and sound > sound.

Now, choose the recording tab as Akuma written and click Properties > listen. On this tab, you can change the volume and disable the microphone set.

    Check this box!

  • Satellite A660 how can I turn off the light on the power button?

Hello, I recently bought a new Toshiba A660-1FL.

However mind, lighting of the multimedia keys, if I work in the dark.
In the Bios, I could disable the led lighting, but the on/off switch is always lighting, which distracts me when I'm working.
This laptop has two power LED, so the lighting power is in my view, unnecessary.

My question is: How can I turn off the light on the power button?

    Hello

The power button led cannot be disabled.
It s there if the laptop is turned on.
The lighting in the BIOS option only controls the multimedia keys...

    Welcome them
