Satellite L20 - keyboard keys two-way - this driver download.

I have a laptop Toshiba L20. I loaded Win XP but don't have original operating system. Problem is my '@' and '@' keys are two-way around... Can someone help me find the right driver for the keyboard?

First the keyboard driver is part of the windows operating system.
Second, you can solve this problem by changing the language settings of the keyboard and not by installing a keyboard driver.

So, you can change these settings here:
Control Panel-> regional and language-> languages-> details Options

Here you have to change the language of the keyboard. I put t know what keyboard layout, you have exactly but maybe you should change British to the Americans or Americans in the United Kingdom.
Check it out!

    Hello

I don t think it is matter of BIOS.
Connect an external USB keyboard and check how it works.
The same buttons work correctly using external USB keyboard?
If so, this problem is related to the internal keyboard so the BIOS update is useless in this case, you will need to replace the keyboard in order to solve this problem.

  • U940-11 x satellite: FN + keyboard keys do not work correctly

    Dear all,

I have problems with my Toshiba Satellite recently bought U940-11 X, serial number 2D015354K.

    1. at each reboot the laptop my keyboard settings are not accurate and symbols and function keys do not work properly. So it is also not possible to enter the bios via F2 after reboot.
I have to press CTRL + SHIFT to have my keyboard works correctly. I have to do this every time I use my laptop.

    2. the touchpad (Synaptics TouchPad SMBus) does not work after a few minutes. The only thing I can do is plug an external usb mouse. I have also tried using FN + F9 does not work.

Please, can someone help me on this?

    Thank you!

    > So it is also not possible to enter the bios via F2 after reboot.

I see that the laptop using Win 8.
You need to perform a full stop down to access the BIOS.

See this document. It provides information how to change the settings to access the BIOS:

    + Perform a complete shutdown in Windows 8 +.

    > I have to press CTRL + SHIFT to have my keyboard works correctly.
Have you checked the presentation of the keyboard settings?
For me, it looks like you are using wrong keyboard layout settings. Using the key combination CTRL + SHIFT changes between keyboard layouts.

    How do I change this?
Go to the Control Panel-> regional and Language Options
A click on the "Keyboards and languages" tab then click on "change keyboards" button. Then in the tree "Installed services" list, select the keyboards you don't want and click 'remove.

  • Bad on Satellite L20 keyboard settings

    Hello
just bought me a series of satellites for laptop Toshiba L20/L25. I installed my wxp and now the keyboard does not match the letters and numbers. for example if I press shift and 8, there is * and not (.)
    How should I do?
Thank you and my email is [email protected]

    Hello

I agree with James. This looks like a bad keyboard language setting.
You should check what keyboard language installed on your device and change the settings of operating system as in the previous announcement described.

  • Satellite L20-182 (PSL2XE) & 120 GB HARD drive upgrade

    HELO :)

I'm going to buy a new HARD drive and I think that about 120 GB but I.m not sure if it works in my L20-182 (PSL2XE). The user manual says:
+ "Available in four sizes: 40, 60, 80 and 100 GB." Other drives may adopted in the future. "+ Is - anyone of you tried to put 120 GB? It work? Need BIOS update?

    wooytson

    Hello

The user manual says that you can use up to 100GB HDD for sure.
I think the tough have not been tested on this notebook L20 and it seems that we can only speculate whether it is possible or not.

The problem is that the BIOS supports a HARD drive size limitation. So not all HARD drive sizes are supported. In the worst cases, the BIOS does not recognize the HARD disc.

However, I think that you can test. There is a great chance that a 120 GB might work properly!

  • Satellite L20 series ethernet controller driver

Hi, I've just updated my computer laptop satellite l20 for win XP Pro. I downloaded and installed all the drivers on the Toshiba site, utility chip etc, but I have a problem with the ethernet controller driver. It is recognized by windows, but it says there is a problem (yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager) and cannot install the driver. I have tried all the drivers I can think and was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem, or know a way around it.
    Thank you very much
    VX220

    Hello

First of all it is important that you install all the drivers of Toshiba in the right order.
Did you follow the installation instructions that are placed on the driver download page?

Ethernet controller need a good driver WLan or / and a LAN driver.
I checked the info on this device and it seems that this device has been delivered with different hardware configurations. (wireless network card intel and Atheros wireless network adapter)

Well, if you don't know what card is installed on your device, you can try to install the two wlan drivers. There are artworks. Don t forget to also install the Realtek LAN driver

  • Is there a way to disable the brightness on my keyboard keys?

It's really bad if I accidentally hit my keyboard brightness keys because my monitor must be calibrated very at all times since I was a photographer.  Someone knows how to turn off these keys I don't accidentally hit?

    Thank you!

There is a way to disable ALL the F1, F2, etc. keys, but I don't think there's a way to just disable these two keys.

 > System Preferences > keyboard > keyboard (tab) > check "use all F1, F2, keys as standard function keys etc.

Note that this will prevent all Mac controls, associated with the F1, F2, etc. keys. While this check box is selected, you can still use the features such as the brightness and spaces, but you need to hold the function (fn) key while pressing F1...

This will allow to use the Pause/Play, spaces, Launchpad and keys of brightness by pressing fn and then the F1, press F2 etc to the action you want.

    Hope this helps

  • Keyboard on my satellite error - 'L' key seems to be stuck, forces logut

Hello I'm fixing a satellite phone with a keyboard error, the 'L' key seems to be stuck permanently down, except that it's not! Also by clicking on the button start requires the user to be disconnected and returned the the login screen.

The keyboard is very well, I checked and cleaned and he ran through a keyboard test program, I started the system by using restore dvd navigation of xp sp2 installation.

Updated the bios to the latest version of xp put, same error.

I restored using a different copy of xp sp2, same error.

I've also been to windows update (without clicking Start!) and checked to make sure that the laptop has had the latest updates (there) is not a problem of update, I also checked for viruses and the machine is clean.

If someone has had this problem or did someone knows how to solve. I don't want to not bin the machine because it is only two years old, but she seems to be a hardware error any in my opinion.

I have used some text here in a previous post on the closed forum that was not resolved so indeed I'm restarting, but I have the same problems-plus in my case disconnection forced by clicking Start.

    Hello

For me, this looks like a keyboard failure.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with non-Toshiba notebook.
Finally, the technician changed the keyboard and the problem was gone.

I think you should just ask a Toshiba ASP, who is responsible for your country for a control and possibly replacement keyboard

    I think this should help

  • Satellite Pro L20 - typed keys missing

We have about 20 laptops, Satellite PRO L20 (model No. PSL2YE-00H00EG3), and all have this problem): keyboard missing from time to time a key is pressed. All keys are affected and the question is very worrying, given that you can have a miss every 20 letters typed.

We have tried to update the BIOS to version 1.5 to version 1.8, but we had no success.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello

You said that this problem occurs from time to time. In this case, it would be possible that some 3rd applications have a bad influence on this keyboard as described in this announcement.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9494&TSTART=30

You also suggested that you tried to upgrade the BIOS. Did you, or was it just a tent?

  • Satellite L20-100 can be started from a USB external hard drive?

I recently bought Toshiba Satellite L20-100 and I wonder if:
    1. is it possible to boot this machine from a disk usb external drive?
    2. it is possible to attach another internal hard drive?

Assuming that the two answers above are 'no', how can we solve the following problem: I need hard drive space, I need to launch 3 systems of separate Wxp operating on the same machine (Toshiba Satellite L20-100).

You are right. The answer is no. Only thing you can do is to create 3 partitions and install on each a favorite OS. Using the Boot Manager, you will be able to choose one that fits in the beginning upward.

  • Need driver for video controller on Satellite L20

Hello! I was attacked by a vicious virus and had to have my satellite L20 looked at by a professional. but in the process of cleaning, I seem to have lost the software for the video controller. whenever I start the computer, I have a message "new hardware found", asking me the installation CD, which I did not. then he said: I have my video controller (vga compatible) will not work, and of course, I can't watch any DVD now. Is there a way I can get this software on the toshiba site?
My operating system is windows xp. Thank you!

    Hello

    I recommend the following:

go to www.intel.com, download drivers for graphics card vga intel express chipset GM 916 (it s called XGP intel) and install the driver package. It will work.

    Have fun. :)

  • Satellite L20-100 cannot access a USB Flash drive

I recently bought Toshiba Satellite L20-100
I installed a USB in Kingston datatraveler flash drive and windows recognized it without problem.
but when I open my computer there is no icon for the reader (it works on another computer well).
the drive is recognized in Device Manager, but it is not given a drive letter.
When I open disk management and try to give it a drive letter it still does not show on my computer even after a reboot.

Although I can access the disk management flash drive and can open, copy & paste the files & to her.
same problem happened with a card reader.
other USB devices like cable modem & mouse work well

    What is the solution

    Hello

Is it possible that the USB is not formatted? Try changing the file system on the USB key.
You can also try to change the drive letter because the letter assigned automatically sometimes gives some conflicts with other readers.

    Second possibility:
You can try to clean all the USB stored device settings and let Windows refresh their.

Create a file with Notepad containing the following lines and save it as a BOOKMARK. REG
    -cut after this line-
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Environment]

    "DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES" = "1".
    -cut before this line-

Double click on FIX. REG and say yes to the merge into registry question.

    Unplug ALL USB device.
    Open the Device Manager.
    View, show hidden devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB controllers.
Uninstall all devices in hard drives that you know are not present.
Uninstall all devices in storage Volumes. Say no to all reboot prompts until you are finished.
In addition, if a storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore her and move on to the next.
If you have a yellow? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

Satellite L20 is an oldie and page European driver Toshiba does not provide drivers for Windows 7
You must search for the driver on your own hand.
Maybe you can get the driver on the graphics card manufacturer page.

By the way; drivers for Win XP, you can find on the European driver Toshiba page but in the Archive. You need to choose in the first option of product Type: Archives
