Satellite L30-105 will not boot after memory expansion
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite L30-105, with 1 GB of memory (2 X 512 MB modules).
I bought 2 X 1 GB-compatible modules to extend the memory to its max.
When I install the two new modules the laptop won't boot. I tried to install one at the time and both work individually. I also tried 1 X 512 MB
and 1 X 1 GB, which also worked.
Help I have updated the bios but still can not computing for work with 2 GB of memory?
Thank you
Rebmark
I am also interested what compatible modules you use.
Just FYI: your laptop model can handle with 2 GB RAM and compatible module - 1 GB DDR2-400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G).

Satellite L30-101 will not boot after memory expansion
Hello
We have a Toshiba Satellite L30-101 with 512 MB memory
We also bought 2 X 1 GB-compatible modules to extend the memory to its max.
When we installed the two new modules the laptop won't boot.
We tried to install one at the time and both work individually. I also tried 1 X 512 MB

1.5 works much better on le.5 but it doesn't seem to be a shame to have the autres.5 but its unusable!

I think that you have incompatible modules for mode dual channel.
What RAM do you have?A module is maybe corrupted and so he doesn t run in mode dual channel.
You can check the module with a program like Memtest86: [www.memtest86.org]

Satellite L30-105 does not recognize the 1 GB of additional RAM
Hi there I hope someone can help me
I have a Satellite L30-105 PSL33E, which came with 1 GB of ram installed (2 x 512 MB made by TeamViewer)
and it's terribly slow with vista, not to mention programs.
The toshiba website says max RAM is 2 GB, so I bought a Kingston 1 GB ram chip to increase the ram to 1.5 GB. I thought should try before moving to 2 GBHowever after installing memory vivid it's show still only 1 GB in windows and in the bios (894 + the rest for video). It has the latest available BIOS on the site 3.10, yet still does not recognize the chip.
The chip is installed in the lower slot, including the original 512 at the top (closest to the keyboard)
Are limited to only some of the Satellite of RAM?
The old subjects indicate if kingston does not work try corsair.
Other topics suggested to change slots
Others suggest that it may have only two of the same ram chips in IE 2 x 512 or 2 x 1 GB, you may not have 1 of eachCan anyone help? everyone knows about similar problems?
I will not buy any more RAM to try different brands for the same issue to occur
Hello
The L30-105 is able to manage the 1024Mo modules in each location it should be able to update the RAM up to 2 GB.
> Why the RAM 1 GB module cannot be recognized?
Perhaps the two modules are not compatible with each other
I would recommend using two identical modules of the same manufacturing
I use Kingston modules, they are ok for me -
Satellite L30-PSL33 does not illuminate after hibernation
Hello
as I said in my previous post, I also have a problem with the Hibernate. The thing is that when I leave to transform a hibernation on this more later sometimes not loading Windows - the load bar coming to an end and then it stops 'thought' so I have to stop it and start it...
The operating system is Win Xp Pro SP2 on Toshiba Satellite L30-PSL33. For example, it loads Windows hibernation 2 or 3 times, and then after that it will not load the operating system.
Please give me an advice how to fix this...
Thank you
It's not easy to say what s may be wrong because like you say so this problem happens sometimes and that's why he of not easy to reproduce this error.
I m an owner of a Sat L30. I use Vista on my L30 and received no similar problem.
I talked to some people, and also read on some sites Internet computer that this error could be related software.
One question; what OS came preinstalled on this notebook; XP or Vista?Maybe you have updated the operating system on your laptop to the last State.
Please also check if the third-party programs 3rd n t assigned the wrong operating system. -
Satellite L30-134 will not accept 2 GB of RAM
I looked at my laptop and it takes a maximum of 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, I tried two different pairs of sticks of 1 GB and the two blue screen that loads the OS.
When the sticks do not go it simply ignores the second run, but I can't seem to accept 2 GB.
BTW I have upgraded to a core duo processor, don't give me no problem.
Known fixes for this problem?
Hello
Your laptop can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM. That s is definitely possible!
You can use 2 modules of memory vivid x1024MB.If you would taka glance at this page, you will find information that you must use the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.
[Memory for Toshiba Satellite L30-134 | http://www.orcalogi.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=25737&ft=m&st=3]
I presume that you always get a BSPD because the RAM modules are not fully consistent or simply malfunctioned.

Satellite L30: reader will not read CDs or DVDs
In the evening, I was recently testing on various operating systems on my laptop and eventually decided to return to Windows Pro.
It was working fine until a couple of days, but then the hard drive started making a rattling noise, like R/RW head stuck. Now it will not read CDs or DVDs, can someone please help and tell me if it's a failure of the software or hardware, and the best way to fix it?
Hello
The drive problems are not uncommon and may still occur.
For the most part the purpose of calibration training does not work correctly.
The objective must be calibrated in the correct position until the player will read or write to the media.
This fault is not reperable and especially the drive needs to be replaced! -
Y430A can not boot after memory upgrade
OS: VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32-BIT
CPU: P7350
MEMORY: HYNIX DDR2 667 2GBI added a 2 GB Kingston ram on the connector 2
First of all, it can be the start and connect to windows,
but after a while, the system of suspension or the SCREEN BLUE DEAD shows,
He cannot even get into the bios screen when I reboot itbut it can be boot up if I remove and reconnect the memory
Sometimes the machine can be restarted and works correctly, except if once I turn it off
I tried to exchange the slot 1 and 2 with 2 x 2 GB,
and also replace with 2 x 256 MB Hynix memory.
but it does not work.
The new memory is not faulty or is not compatible because it works very well if it autonomous.
In short, if I install 2 x 2 GB memory, the system may start only once.
Is it the BIOS problem or it's my mistake?
Please help and sorry for my bad English.
Thanks in advance.
This is perhaps due to the incompatibility of the modules of RAM, working together. If Yes, than to change only the modules will help.
Also looks like Y510 behavior when it was a fresh model - Y510 all were not able to manage two RAM modules. Update the BIOS helped. For now no new BIOS for Y530/Y430, so will have to wait.

I did all as usual by pressing F8, F12, F2, diagnostic test, memory test and a little more. Right now I'm running, but I'm going to be scared to do another update when the time comes. Can someone help me please on this issue. Many thanks in advance, Ron

Satellite L30 (PSL33E) does not recognize second memory slot
I'm trying to upgrade a L30 for a friend. It came with 1 memory module 512 MB PC2 - 4200. I tried to add a 1 GB PC2-5300 SODIMM in the second housing and it does not pick it up. I replaced the 512 with the 1 GB and he found. Put the 512 in the second slot, still sees the 1 GB but not the 512. I tried 2 x 1 GB and he sees one of them. It reports 894MB as I guess he uses 128 MB of video memory.
I've updated the BIOS, checked all the settings and I don't see why it woun't recognize the second memory location.
Any ideas?
Hello
The second location is defective. It's the only plausible explanation
But as far as I know Toshiba recommends the use of these modules;
512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)Maybe you should test notebook with such 1 GB module to make sure this isn't a problem of compatibility of memory.

Laptop will not boot after Dell logo.
Yesterday, I tried to start my Dell Inspiron 17 laptop. I bought about three years ago and have not had any problems start to date. When I press the power button, the Dell logo appears and then nothing happens. I removed the battery and held the power button down until delete static. I also tried F2, SATA has changed, but that has not worked. Then I tried to run the diagnostics, but I got a black screen. How can I fix this, or is something broken?
There's your answer - the hard drive is bad (the boot sequence hangs on the black screen because it can not find the bootstrap on the drive to continue.
Reinstall the drive (you will need a new, 2.5 "SATA laptop drive - hard drive, drive hybrid or disk solid state drive) that is 9.5 mm or thinner) and reload the OS (from the recovery media if all goes well, you did when you received the system) and you'll be all set.

Satellite Pro 6000 will not boot
Hi all
I have a 6000 Pro Satellite which is quite old, but until yesterday it was working fine. Today, it no longer starts. The lights are on (220v:green / power: Green / battery: orange), but the BIOS or the operating system does not start. Fan does not work either. The FN key seems to work - if I press it, the indicator light below the F11. If I press and hold the power button the power light turns off.
I removed the battery to see if that would help, but it basically gives the save result (or not).
Is it possible to do a hard reset? Or is it curtains for this laptop?
You want to know your opinion on this one.
JPHello
Try unplugging the power adapter and remove the battery the laptop for a while leave. Wait 20 - 30 minutes, reconnect all the pieces and try to start.
If it won't work, I guess the hardware laptop works bad maybe that it s a motherboard (ESF) failure or the CPU.
Who knows. Without any hardware tests is not easy to know which device is malfunctioning -
PC will not boot after loading sp3 for Windows xp__
I loaded sp3 for windows xp and now the system does not restart. He is caught in a loop. It is now trying continuously restart. I tried safe mode and it just scrolls the file names and stops. I tried the last successful reboot option known and that no longer works.
A. you must have only one 1 antivirus installed and to load at startup. If your McAfee subscription is updated, uninstall AVG & reboot.
B. then you will need to treat the Norton "remains". Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.
1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
C. now try to install SP3 by the following recommendations:
WinXP SP3 - read all the prerequisites for a successful installation
http://msmvps.com/blogs/harrywaldron/archive/2008/05/08/Windows-XP-SP3-read-all-prerequisites-for-a-successful-installation.aspxNOTE: If AVG has detected an infection that do not have McAfee, the computer might still be infected!
