Satellite L30 - 113 memory problem

I have a Satellite L30-113 that does not have the right
size of the memory.

The system was shipped with 512 MB and 1 GB extra, I installed
Stick, but for some reason any windows reports only 896 MB installed and graphics card
use 128 MB. The BIOS also pointed out that only 896 MB of ram is installed.

When I run the system information for windows it only detects 1 GB module
Although if I remove a memory module and have either 512 MB or 1 GB installed
It works very well.

I also installed the latest version of the BIOS and does not seam to
have had no effect.

Also the two sticks of memory were tested in another laptop, so I know that both work.

Are there problems with the mixture of sizes of memory in these laptops or to memory
Poles should be assorted sizes?

The operating system is Windows XP Pro

I agree with Abe. I noticed a few comments about it in the forum, and it seems that the Satellite L30 should be upgraded with exactly the same modules.
I mean that the modules must support the same speed (MHz), the same manufacturer and so on

For me it s clear that other computers are able to manage these modules, but it seems as the can-do that L30!

  • Question about video memory on Satellite L30-113

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-113 and I managed to install a driver (I am learning how to in this forum, thx) for the video card, which allows me to change the size of the memory, what video card can be used. Configure the size of the (UMA) memory of 256 MB (including 128) properties, then in the properties of that memory for the graphics card is display 512?

My question is that the size 512 memory is real? Video card really use this amount of memory or is unreal? If so is it better to go back to 128 (then in properties is 256), not to waste this memory for nothing.

I know the les specifications specifications from the manufacturer, said 'max 256 memory hyper', but my question again: why in the properties I have the memory size: 512 MB?

Thank you in advance, best regards.

No, 512 MB is not true. The maximum size of video memory is 256 MB, but I do not know why your system shows 512 MB. If you set the video memory up to 256 MB performance will be no higher. Do not waste this memory to change anything back to 128 MB.

  • Cannot change the size of the video memory in Satellite L30-113

I have a Satellite l30-113 which has 1 GB memory and windows Vista.

The size of memory that has been attributed to the vga is 319 MB.
How can I decrease the video memory?

    Hello

do you really mean 319MB? This machine only supports a maximum video memory 256 MB shared memory. So if you might have 32 MB (which is how I imagine rather memory assigned to your VGA) you can increase the video memory of this machine by changing the value of memory assigned in the bios of your machine.

Do you know how to enter the bios?

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L30-113 - cannot burn CDs or DVDs

I have a Satellite L30-113. Recently my driver failed for my dvd player, until I was able to install a few things and burn CDs and DVDs. Now, I can't record CDs or DVDs.

Nero and CDBurnerXP for CD/DVD ROM say 'cannot continue burning process as you did not choose the device for recording. CD/DVD ROM propities shows that it does not support recording CDs and DVDs.

I uninstalled the driver and restarted my computer and it reinstalled the same as that which does not once again. I am a driver update search and xp tells me that the driver is up-to-date. I checked the Toshiba updates with none of these updates for CD/DVD ROM.
I have no idea on how to fix this unit "corrupted".

    Hi mate,

I had a similar problem on my Toshiba laptop. So here, I searched a little bin forum and I founded to delete upper and lower filters in the registry. I followed the instructions in this Microsoft article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060

After that, I again was able to burn DVDs.

In addition, updated driver from CD/DVD isn't necessary because this driver is part of the operating system.

  • Satellite L30-113 - no sound after the downgrade from Vista to XP

    Hello to everyone.
I recently bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L30-113
    with vista preintalled.

As many users around the vista of the world seemed very slow for me so I decided to go back to Windows XP Pro.
The problem is that I can't hear any sound in my laptop.
In fact I found some drivers for Realtek controller High definition audio
    but they have nothing did.

I give the floor to toshiba in Greece and they told me that this laptop is designed only for windows vista!
    Can this be true?
    Help, please

    Hello

In my eyes, you have misunderstood something. Of course, that the laptop can handle Windows XP and it should work correctly, but as you say the device was shipped with Vista and so the guys at Toshiba support don't provide any support for WinXP on this laptop.

As far as I know page driver Toshiba also provide drivers for win XP. Therefore, visit European driver of Toshiba page and choose the good laptop-> PSL33 Sat L30-113

You will find a driver 5.10.0.5273 version XP. This should work!

    Have a nice day ;)

  • Satellite L30-113 does not recognize the two modules DIMM RAM

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L30 113.
It has 512 MB of RAM and therefore struggled to run Windows Vista, so I bought another 1 GB of RAM.
    It's DDR2 553 MHZ (PC4200.

The problem I have is that the laptop does not recognize both DIMMs, i.e. the old 512 MB and the new 1 GB when they are in the whole PC. I tried the two DIMM individually in both slots and there is no problem, but when I install both the system sees just 1 GB. I tried the DIMMs around two ways but without success.

    Did I miss something?
They should be the same size as in the bad old days?
    What is going on?

    Thank you

    Adam

    > I tried the two DIMM individually in both slots and there is no problem, but when I install both the system sees just 1 GB
Seems that the two RAM modules are not completely compatible...
I've read several times on these issues and to be honest it s are not uncommon

I advise you to buy two identical RAM modules ad then to try again

I'm afraid there is no other solution for your problem of m.

  • Satellite L30-113 cannot start Windows OS

After downloading upgrades my computer does not start at the top. My computer screen shows a black screen, red, writing in the middle. He then goes to the screen, then go to windows error recovery page when you press on enter too lance beginning repair it then repeats the process and also switches its self off when you press start windows normally. I can't find the boot disks, the laptop is a Satellite L30 - 113 series.

    Hello

I had a similar problem on my computer but was able to fix it.
I took my CD of Win XP and started the repair console.

Then I used the command Chkdsk and scanned and repair files and sectors on the HARD disk.
Then I used the Fixboot command. He writes a new boot sector on the system partition.
Finally used Fixmbr command that repairs the boot partition's master boot code.

  • Need help to update BIOS on Satellite L30-113

    Hello

I just downloaded the latest update of the BIOS for my Satellite L30-113 (PSL 33) and I was about to install when I remembered that I actually downgraded to Windows XP(this notebook is originally with WIndows Vista).
My question is it will produce no problem when I run the .exe file, because it can be programmed to update BIOS under Windows Vista only?
I know there are a lot of competent users who can help me in this forum.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I just got a check for the BIOS on the support and downloads page and I found the inscription as "OS independent. This essentially means that the update is compatible with both operating systems.

Remember that when you update the BIOS, you need ensure the power supply is connected, software security is disabled, nothing is attatched to (other than the power cord) system, power is turned off (such as screensavers), saving features and no other software is running. Also disconnect from the Internet, too, if possible.

You can download the latest version of the BIOS here:
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/BIOS-20071106150302.zip

Also, you can find the update may not work if a BIOS password is set, if this is the case, you need to delete that, too.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L30-113: conflict in the device after downgrade XP Manager

    Hello

I have two questions to ask. I bought my Toshiba Satellite L30-113 a few months ago - it was loaded with Vista, but I was upset by the performance and downgraded to Windows XP.
Since then, I noticed that I had little conflict in my "Device Manager" and one more that I couldn't resolve is this: "Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus". Can someone please tell me how to solve this conflict, or should I just 'disable' this?

My other question is about the time in 'Hibernation' mode - when it comes out of hibernation and it says "Recovery Windows" at the end of the indication line (it shows the loading bar) it just stops and nothing happens. The strange thing is that sometimes it loads Windows and sometimes it doesn't.

    Thank you for your answers...

    Hello!

You can download the Microsoft's KB835221 hotfix, it should solve your problem. If this does not work, try to download the latest audio driver here:
    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=24&PFID=24&level= 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false #High % 20Definit % 20Audio % 20Codecs ion
I can't answer your second question, because I've never had a problem with hibernation. Have you installed the drivers properly?

  • Opportunities to upgrade HDD for Satellite L30-113

I hope someone can help me on this one. I was wondering what are the possibilities for the upgrade of the disk on a Satellite L30-113. As the largest size of support etc. Or even if it's possible (I don't know much when it comes to upgrading laptops).

If it is possible to upgrade to a larger size HARD drive what should be and what would be the process to upgrade as well as if there is a limit on the maximum size, etc.?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Each laptop BIOS supports a HARD drive size limitation and therefore, you can only use a HARD drive formats supported.

I used the L30 for a long time and to my knowledge, you could use the 40 GB, 60 GB and 80 GB hard drives for sure. Perhaps that the 100 GB HARD drive might work but I m not 100% sure and can not recommend this size of HARD drive.

However, these hard drives must be compatible:
    Toshiba 40 GB - MK4032GSX
    60 GB - MK6034GSX
    80GB - MK8032GSX

  • Disassembly of the specifications for the Satellite L30-113?

    Hello

where can I find the complete specifications on how to disassemble toshiba satellite L30-113? !!

    Thank you.

    Hello

Disassembly of the laptop is not easy and should be done only if you have a technical background.
The risks are too high you might damage something on the map. You know, the motherboard is the most expensive part of the laptop.

But don t worry buddy, I cleaned my laptop fans without removing anything.
I used the hose of vacuum cleaner against the vents and it worked

  • Transmision very slow Satellite L30 - 113 (33rd PSL) LAN file

    Hello world!

After upgrading OS from Vista to XP pro work LAN Ethernet very slow (transfer of files of 100 MB, 2 hours).

    XP-drivers downloaded from toshiba - Europe.com, for model Satellite L30-113 PCL33.

    Maybe I should applay patches?
Also I can't use the PC card slot...

    Hello

The transfer of data should be the same under Vista and XP.
I think that you have installed an antivirus that scans all files during data transmission.

    Please disable it!

    By the way;
If you notice a slow, data transfer Windows Vista try disabling Remote Differential Compression
    To do:
-Start-> Control Panel-> programs and features
-Click on Turn windows features on the left side of the screen on or off
    -Off remote differential compression

    Hello!

Now, using a Satellite L30-113 (Celeron m 430, 2 GB 533 Mhz, ATi xpress 200M chipset). My question is if the Satellite L30-113 has a socket M? Can I use CPU with 667 fsb and ram with 533 speed? If a socket M I can upgrade cpu including core duo or core 2 duo CPU? How to identify a list with socket M CPU?

How to install ATI Catalyst on Windows 7? I try with Mobility Modder.NET and did not work

    Hello

You can identify the plug yourself if you install a hardware such as Everest or PC Wizard 2009 diagnostic tool. Both show all hardware information.
    Check this box!

    But upgrading CPU's official unsupported:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

No one can say what s CPU will work or not, buddy. ;)

Last but not least, you can download the ATI driver for your laptop on the Toshiba page directly:

This drive read and write CDs, play DVDs, but don't write DVD the last time.
After inserting DVD the status of the device in 'My computer' change to 'DVD RAM' on 'CD RAM.
After the attempt to write, the errors are "Gage power error" and "not full disk at a time.

Writing at the beginning of the DVD is OK.

In your opinion, is it soft or hard error?
Must I update DVD-driver or the replacement of the DVD player?

    Hello

    > I need I update DVD-driver or the replacement of the DVD player?
Usually the ODD driver is part of the Windows operating system.
Windows uses the internal Microsoft driver that controls the ODD.

In any case, the European driver Toshiba page contains a DVD - RAM driver. This driver gives you more support for your DVD RAM drive.
I m not very good if it will help you, but try to reinstall and check if the drive will be CD - RAM DVD-RAM

  • Need driver sound WXP for Satellite L30-113

    Hi all

I m installing WXP SP3 on Toshiba L30-113 but I can't find audio driver for Windows XP Home edition.
I don't have driver for Vista, but for Windows XP Home edition.

Can someone help me to find audio driver for Toshiba Satellite L30-113 please?

After reviewing your last assignment, this means that you have found the audio driver Windows XP Home edition? It is available on the Toshiba support page and it's Realtek driver 5.10.0.5273 version.

The question is the feature under SP3. You have installed Windows XP SP3 home edition or do you simply upgrade from SP2 to SP3?
