Satellite L30: Join to the domain takes 10 min

We bought a Tosh Satellite L30 and it came with Vista Basic pre-loaded.

On our domain, we use software only supported up to Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Pro SP2 has been installed (formatted HARD drive)
I downloaded XP drivers, (I see there is no chipset driver, only one video/audio etc.) and install

The laptop seems to be OK when I connect locally (name, username/password / local PC), but is joined to the domain when I try to login (name of domain/name username/password), it takes at least 10 minutes to connect.

Trying to install a relatively small application to a network drive take at about the same time (usually less than a minute.
I checked the server and it doesn't seem to be rejecting the laptop

The only clues I receive are in the event Log.
It comes up with 3 inputs
IRQARB ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI 4 connector
IRQARB ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI 2 connector
Parallel port service could not start

Is that which is the cause of the problem?
I have to update the BIOS? IF I do and it goes wrong, what then!

Any help greatly appreciated
See you soon
Neil

Hello

> Can I update the BIOS? IF I do and it goes wrong, what then!

Especially, if the BIOS update fails, the laptop cannot start and assistance of the ASP is required upgrading the BIOS is always risky and should be done with care.

With regard to the long connection time
Well, it's not easy to say what causes this waiting long connection

The search in the Microsoft Knowledge base I have found only this:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/930062

You may need to install the chipset drivers mainboard that should be found on the page of the Toshiba driver!

Our server (SBS 2003) crashed and I had to rebuild it and then I had to join a laptop in our area and now all the files for this person is missing.  We use the option synchronize folders when this person was missing and now I wonder where all these files are gone?

We had no backups (I know, I know) so now we have a couple of people who have lost all their data.  Is there a way to make it back the computer joined to the domain?  Some kind of folder offline connection or cache somewhere?  I checked the documents and Settings folder, but the user profiles 'My Documents' is empty.

  • Satellite L30 - I lost the recovery disk

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite L30 and need to completely reinstall Vista but I lost my recovery CD

    Help, please

    Hello!

Are you sure it's the recovery disk?
What is the content of the CD if you find Windows to display the contents of the CD/DVD?

These messages appear normally if the CD is noisy and so it can t be read properly or in the worst cases the CD/DVD drive is faulty and should be replaced. :(

  • Satellite L30-113: is the temperature of my CPU too high?

    Hi all

I recently updated my BIOS to the latest version available on the Web from Toshiba website.
    I have a Satellite L30-113 (33rd PSL).
I don't know if I will be paranoid, but maybe my fans are a little warmer now - I mean when I touch the grid where air is blown, I think that it is hotter than before.

I installed Speedfan and it shows me that the HD0 - 34 degrees Celsius, ACPI temperature is 74 degrees celsius and Core 0-70 degrees celsius (this one is different between 50 and 70).

Please tell me these specifications are normal or now it is overheating because of the upgrade of the BIOS?

    Thank you.

I also found this site with my processor specifications - http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9KV. It says that the operating temperature is 100 degrees celsius. This means that everything is ok?

  • join to the domain host seems to break my auto deploy?

This is the second time that this has happened.  Add a host computer to a domain, update my profile host to host to reference, and then everything starts to go wrong.  It is said the HA agent is disabled and after reboot etc he fails to apply the profile of the host to host more.  I had to start all over again with my data center last time... this time I got lucky.  My other host was always counted with the join the domain, I changed my host of reference to the host who does not join the domain, updated the reference host profile and reapplied while the profile for the host that I joined the domain, restarted and all is well again.  Was wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem?

Never, I came across this problem. But it seems that there is something wrong with your original host profile.

  • Computers Dell laptops E5520, joined to the domain with the applications installed suddenly forget everything and goes back to the first bootup users

I have a Dell laptops 5520 during the first boot, I created an Admin account and set the timezone, etc.  Then I joined laptops to our AD domain, software installed, such as Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe.  Laptops have worked for a few weeks and now containing several profiles of my domain users.  All of a sudden, some laptops from start-up to the original Admin Login (the first user created).  When I connect, the NetBIOS shows is more that the laptop is part of a domain, and none of the applications that are installed are listed in all programs more (programs and profiles of school boards, however, still exist on the hard disk).  I have system restore disabled by GPO, and I limit the applications of the Panel as well.  I contacted Dell and they have never heard of this issue.  If I join the laptop to the field, he finds the original computer account but this does not all installed software and profiles will reappear.  Here is Windows 7 Professional on a Windows 2008 domain.  Any ideas?

  • Need drivers for Satellite L30 W2k replace the Vista operating system

    All,

I brought 2 L30 notebooks that have Windows Vista installed. The programs that I put on, I have purchaced the books, does not work with Vista, and I intend to put W2k Pro on them. Of course I need drivers to runt he network card etc...

Can someone tell me what I'll have to drivers? (for what pieces of equipment) And prehaps an easy way to get them? And even if it is possible.

    Thank you very much
    Jonathon Black

    Hello

If I were you I would use rather Windows XP and Win2k because you won´t find drivers for Windows 2000.

IF you need drivers, you can try it here:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

and you just have to download all the drivers and the software that is in the list of your machines.

If you have any questions just ask :)

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L30-134 - replacing the CD/DVD drive

    Hi all

I hope I can get some help here.

Recently, I lost my CD drive on my L30 and want to replace it. I could do with is a view for the bit of nuts and bolts exploded and the model number of the drive of CD-ROM or a replacement compatible if anyone know of one?

I carefully removed the screw of the record but seem to have some sort of fixation in the center that I can't understand, no screws showing, but he seems firmly attached.

    Thanks for the tips
    John

    > Yes, I suppose a user manual would list the compatible replacements, but unfortunately, I n t I a.
LOL, you can download it from the page of European support from Toshiba!
    Check it out here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/-> support & download

The STRANGE can be removed very easily. You must remove the screw just one ONLY which is placed at the bottom of the unit, near the memory slot cover!
Then, it should be possible to get out the reader of CD/DVD of the Bay.

  • Error updating Windows 10: does not work if the PC is joined to the domain

My company requires that employees upgrade to Windows 10 before the deadline. When I went to install Windows 10 came an error message that says "Windows 10 does not work on this PC" and then told the user account: this PC is connected to a domain. Contact your system administrator

Does anyone have an idea how to get around this problem? At least 2 other people in our office have successfully upgraded to Windows 10 without feeling it, and another co-worker gets the same error message.

This is a screenshot of what happens:

Your best option is to download the ISO and upgrade to a Local account.

  • VCenter should be joined to the domain?

Is there a reason to join vCenter in the field? I don't want Windows Server it works on but in vCenter itself? Windows Server is already part of the field. I just took the VMware class and remember it being a setting in vCenter to reach the field or something similar, but I can't. Can someone tell me where this setting is and what exactly its used for?

    Hello

I can't imagine that there is a bug in Vista. I assume you should check all the Settings toolbar. If there is nothing to do again resumed sent media and install Vista.
