Satellite L300-1 has 3 - CPU upgrade question

Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite L300-1 to 3.
His performance is good.
But the futre if I change CPU, how is supported Core2Duo series?

Thank you very much.

Hello

Upgrading the CPU is not supported by Toshiba and almost all the other laptop manufacturers.
Generally, you should know that the components of laptops such as CPU or GPU are not expandable.

In most cases, the graphics card is soldered on the motherboard. Upgrading CPU is more complicated and delicate for different reasons.
The main reason would be the heat dissipation. The stronger CPU produces more heat, which can affect the functionality of the laptop.
In other cases the CPU can be not supported by the BIOS and in the worst case that wouldn't boot up the laptop.

If you want to upgrade the computer components in the future with new CPU or better graphics chip then you shouldn't buy a laptop but a desktop PC!

That s my personal opinion

Hi how far can upgrade my A 50 1.5 ghz centrino and Motherboard can't cos 1.5 dual-core is really not enough for me any more. I know there are a lot of problem on cpu upgrade but I need just to answer far?

I also change my DVD burner to +/-dvd burner, and how I can do it. I also heard that toshiba recalls batery and I saw my model of laptop also on this list.

    Hello

Unfortunately, but I don t think that the motherboard will support the new Dual Core CPU.
It is a technology simply different and you should also know that the CPU upgrade on laptops is not very easy as on the desktop PC.
AFAIK the A50 was delivered with different processors and must be compatible with the bus of 400 Mhz Intel Pentium M 1.5/1.6/1.7Ghz and bus of 400 Mhz Intel Celeron M 1.2/1.3/1.4Ghz.

Anyway, as far as I know Toshiba doesn't support updates and you will not find any official information about updates and upgrade problems.
I think that the biggest problem could be the highest temperature, BIOS and chipset compatibility. Furthermore it possible to some Toshiba tools such as energy saving does not work and the product overheats.

If you want to upgrade or replace the CD/DVD drive, so I recommend that you first contact the service partner Toshiba for devices compatible and taken in charge.
This is important because not all readers are supported by the BIOS.
Portable players are set to master/slave or C - salt that is why it is very important that you will buy a drive to right. Drive with bad settings is not recognized by the BIOS, and there is no chance to change the master/slave or c - salt settings!

    Now something of the battery:
Well, I read on the page Toshiba that only some laptops which were manufactured between March and May 2006 are affected.
I recommend to check this site Web from Toshiba of the FAQ for more details:

    I hope I could help

  • How to connect by Satellite L300-1 has 3 on TV?

I have laptop Satellite L300-1 has 3, and I can not show pc image to screen LCD TV Philips 5603d.
I tried with the vga (pc) in RGB (TV) cable and with connector vga, DVI and DVI to HDMI on the side of TV, but nothing happened. Is it possible to see the image on the TV?
I need software for that, or I did something wrong?

    Thank you!

    Hello

All LCD televisions have several video - in different ports and what you should try is to use the VGA-to-RCA cable.
Your TV must have port cinch. Connect your laptop to the TV, turn on RCA TV port and then use FN + F5 key combination to switch the LCD TV.

Please let me know if this work.

  • Satellite L300-1 has 3 and WXP - computer laptop is very slow

I installed Windows XP computer laptop Satellite L300-1 has 3.
After portable installation is very slow, I think that the problem in the SATA driver.

Please send me the driver SATA for Windows XP Home edition, or please give me the solution.

    Thank you

    Hello

May I ask how you installed Win XP?
Did you change the SATA mode on compatible in the BIOS settings?
If yes then this problem is related to the missing SATA drivers!

You can find the SATA drivers in the Intel Storage Manager which is placed on the page of European disk from Toshiba!

Launch the .exe with the settings file a p

For example (the files will be unpacked in the storagemanager folder):

    c:\downloads\iata_cd.exe - a c:\storagemanager Pei

An accurate description, you will find in the Readme! Read it!
Then you will get the unique file which could be included for Win XP CD using nLite software!

  • Satellite L300-1 has 3 - slow start WinXP SP3

    Hello everyone

Recently, I installed Windows XP (service pack 3) on my laptop * Satellite L300-1 has 3 (Dual core T3200, 3G of RAM) *.
There is a problem: starting time on the computer and enter in Windows is too long (about 60 seconds)
I have not any application on my laptop, and I didn't have this problem when it had Windows XP (service pack 2)
Would you please help me on why this problem exists?
    Thanks for your cooperation!

You must determine what is the cause of the delay. It could be a driver incompatibility.

Google "Bootvis". Its a Microsoft utility that records everything that happens during startup and displays a grid with delays in the services, drivers, peripheral, etc...

  • Satellite Pro L20-PSL25E - CPU upgrade question

    Hello

I upgraded the ram last year and im running high-performance for my model, 2.0 GB.

This really helped for awhile, but after a few heavy programs have been installed this year (only one software, one game) ive noticed it running slow as before, its worth noting that my computer has adopted all the necessary specifications for both outside the game where im working on 1.7 ghz and it needs the least 2.0 ghz processor , and I'm short on speed slowest peformance of the game itself.

The vehicle has currently a centrino pentium, keeping in mind a new portable computer is not in my budget, is it worth getting a new processor and which would be best?

    Thanks again, Rebecca.

    Hello

My personal opinion is that Satellite L20 is not designed for heavy operations and is certainly not game machine. If you compare the price of Satellite and Satellite L laptops you'll understand why. I'm sure that this laptop is designed for Internet, office and simple every day activities.

Upgrading RAM is very good and I'm sure it helps a lot but CPU upgrade is not the solution. Update CPU is not supported. You must also understand that each hardware platform is designed for optimal physical activity. Processor, graphics, cooling system and other hardware components must work without overheating and harmonic. Stronger CPU means more heat.

In my opinion you should optimize operating system preinstalled software hoping you use will work better and more stable.

  • Satellite Pro L450D - 12 X - CPU upgrade

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L450D - 12 X and I was wondering which processors 'Dual Core' support this laptop for a CPU upgrade?

Have a read of other peoples threads, it is possible for the laptop to have an upgrade, but I'm not sure of what those who actually support. The most common dual core would be the dual core 'Stalk' However, there are many processors that go under the name "stalk".

I was also wondering if all Toshiba L450Ds have the same motherboard etc... because they contain the same case and (mostly) graphics card

    Thank you very much

I assume that you have already read this Toshiba doesn't support CPU upgrade and a public document on processors compatible doesn t exist.
You can just hope that someone has an identical identical machine with the hardware platform and can offer some info on these updates.

For best performance, you can start with the RAM upgrade. Have you upgraded RAM to max level?

  • Satellite C850-1 kN and CPU Upgrade

I recently got my hands on one of these laptops. It has a Pentium 960 b for the moment, but I searched for Intel i3 - 3110M or Intel i3 processor - 3130M CPU on eBay to replace the slower Pentium.

Both are IvyBridge, identical to the original and both have a TDP of 35W, which means that they should not belt any more heat it does (or at least no more than the fan can handle, because the fans are usually designed to be mass produced and used in many different laptops (, but the same form factor)

Someone had a bit of luck the upgrade of their CPU in Toshiba laptops? I guess I'm of the same generation of processor Intel should mean support BIOS already integrated into the planks of the BIOS...

I can tell you that a lot of people have been able to upgrade the processor in their notebooks of Toshiba but fact is simple as this upgrade isn't officially supported by laptop manufacturers and can be done at your own risk.
Generally the CPU upgrade depends on chipset and BIOS support.

The laptop supports the Mobile HM70 Express Chipset Intel - compatible and supported processors are Intel ARK page in compatible products section:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/67419/Intel-BD82HM70-PCH

To be honest I don't think that all compatible CPUS are but it s a good start point.

However, the BIOS must support also the new processor and maybe it's the thorny question since no one knows what are the processors supported by the BIOS because this information isn't out of nowhere.

  • Is dualboot on Satellite L300-1 has 3 possible?

    Hello

I have the Toshiba Satellite L300-1 to 3 with Windows Vista Home Premium as the operating system.

After you modify the partitions on my drive, I tried to install Windows XP in a system dual boot, but this isn't the case at all. I have question, is that this model (L300-1 has 3) is done only for Vista?

    Concerning
    NSK

This model laptop is certainly not made for Vista only. The question is what you try to do exactly.
I installed Vista and Windows XP Home edition on my Satellite A300. If it works on my laptop it takes work on your too.

Please let me know how you try to install Windows on your laptop?

Please could someone help me with my Satellite L300 laptop?
It has a pre-installed Pioneer DVD - RW drive, but in Device Manager it has exclamation mark and not show as a CD player and DVD player.

I tried for days to find the right drivers but no success, it displays as: PIONEER DVD - RW DVRKD08A ATA Device in Device Manager, I am unable to watch DVD s, thank you.

Remove the device from the list and restart your laptop.
    The problem again?

What operating system do you use?
You use your laptop to factory settings?

  • Satellite L300 - 11 M and hardware upgrade

    Hi all.

I have Toshiba Satellite L300 - 11M, but my video card is very slow and I can't play games well. So, I want to upgrade trought purchase new video card. But I do not know my laptopl support AGP or PCI connector only? So what is the best video card in N-VIDIA who support?

    Please help me. Thank you.

To be honest, I doubt that such external graphics card would be really useful.
According to this article, you can connect it to a USB port and in my opinion the USB 2.0 speed is not good enough to transmit a huge amount of data that accumulate through a game
However, I've never tested it so I can't give details.

  • Satellite L300 - beep after Windows 7 upgrade loop

    Hello

    I have the laptop next

    Toshiba Satellite L300
    Number of model PSLB8E - 15W007EN
    Serial 99086404Q

I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7, it completed the process of installation, but when I boot, the laptop is a continuous loop off beep (sounds like she a loop of 22 beep... If that's any help), then shows a blue on the screen if you have installed new hardware, etc. So, I go to repair system that fails, please someone help me.

    Thank you

    Welshie

    Hi Welshie_1,

These beep codes mean usually there is a hardware malfunction detected

You can start in safe mode?
Have you noticed the beep code when you go into the BIOS too?

You can install Windows recovery disk Toshiba or you get a bluescreen too?

  • Qosmio X 300-130 PQX32E - CPU upgrade question

    Hello

I'm thinkink of upgrading my CPU TOSHIBA QOSMIO X 300 - and searching the net I found that this is the most powerful processor can I upgrade to [Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9300
    (Cache de 12 Mo, 2,53 GHz, BUS frontal à 1 066 MHz,)]

so before you buy it I decided to ask here if someone did, and if it is really compatible

    My current setting

Type of processor Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo P8600, 2400 MHz
    Bus Type Intel AGTL +.
    CHIPSET: Intel Cantiga PM45
    Intel Montevina Platform

    Hello

    Updates are not officially supported
But you can read here on the forum about updates and in many cases, the CPU upgrade was possible

Always is there to check the compatibility of the chipset
If the chipset would be compatible with the new processor, you've got a good chance to get it running

The question is: would the BIOS supports the new processor?
Answer is not easy because there is no information on the supported processors.

Here are the details of Intel on the chipset:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/chipsets/35515

Under compatible products, you can find the processors supported
It looks like the Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9300 (2.53 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 12 MB Cache) is supported by the chipset

  • Updated by Satellite L300-1AQ and Win7 - a few questions

Sorry will try this again as my original thread does not appear anywhere.

I have a Satellite L300-1AQ and only got their hands on the disks to upgrade Toshiba Windows 7 - Vista Home Premium to Win 7 HP.

Can I really use this to perform a new installation of Win 7 64 bit?

That made the other disk in the pair actually? Is it fair pilots or it installs cr@pware too?

    Thank you.

This is a very useful document for you > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P60000R01.htm

You will get two discs: composite discs and upgrade.
Start your laptop and place the composite disc and follow the on-screen menu. I think that you won't have more problems to understand how it works.

New installation? I don't know if this will work but noted that after a new installation, you will not have the activation code valid and you'll probably version only 30 days. key down will not help you for regular activation.
