Satellite L300 - 17l - no HARD drive & black screen when trying to install XP

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 - 17l no operating system on it.
I tried to install xp, but after the initialization of the installation was told he not found any hard... and press F3 to exit Setup.

And now I can not install anything, because when I turn on the laptop it seems just a black screen

:( NEED HELP... PLEASE...

All you need to do is install XP that contains SATA drivers. The XP you are trying to install does not contain them is why it does not recognize your hard drive. If you can't find Xp with SATA drivers, you can create your own drive to install XP with SATA drivers in a few steps:

(1) download nLite
(2) download the SATA drivers for your laptop from the Toshiba site
(3) find Xp installation (normal that you use for your PC)
(4) start nLite and it will tell you how tointegrate the SATA drivers in the XP installation
(5) burn the installtion disk
Install XP on the laptop to 6)

  • Satellite L300 - Chaning the HARD drive partitions

    I'm not a computer expert, so answers in clear English + please.

    I own a Satellite L300. Recently, the hard disk was doing fairly complete. I save all my files in "My Documents" etc... I had a look under my computer and the volume C: (called 'Vista') has only 5 GB of free space. However, there is also another volume E: (called 'Data'), and this volume is almost empty, apart from a folder called HDDRecovery.

    I would like to start using this free space. I tried to reduce the size of the E: volume and the volume C:, but - although I can reduce volume E: via Start-computer-Manage - I can't increase the volume C:. In any case, I could only reduce the E: volume by half.

    I created the recovery DVD, so can I remove this volume E: or not? And if I do, I'll be able to extend the C: volume to fill my hard drive?

    If not, can I just start to save files in the E: volume it will affect what is already there?

    What is the best course of action? What I would really like is just a very large volume, so that my files are in one simple place.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi André,.

    First I put t understand why reduce you the E: volume or use only one partition. In my opinion every computer must have at least two partitions. On the second partition, I always save my documents, videos, photos, music, etc.. It is cool and can save a lot of time because if I reinstall Windows using the recovery disk, all the files it will not be deleted, only the first partition.
    As you can see, the second partition is a useful feature!

    But if you have the Toshiba Recovery disk you can do what you want. If a problem occurs, you can restore the settings from the factory with this disc in a few minutes.

    By the way: here's an interesting article on the Windows disk management:

  • Satellite L300 PSLB8A display, only a black screen

    Hi guys

    Please help if you can; This morning I turned on my laptop (Satellite L300 PSLB8A-04R004 running Vista family) and all I get is a black screen.

    I tried removing the battery and turn on while plaugged in the power supply, same black screen.

    I tried to remove the battery then replace after 10 minutes, but the same black screen. All the power lights are on (but non-corps House).

    I tried everything suggested in support on the site page, but thought that you guys might have the answer?

    Thank you.

    > I have tried everything proposed in the support on the site page, but thought that you guys might have the answer?
    Seems that you have already tried a workaround solution that I would recommend.
    Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery, wait 1 hour or more.
    Reconnect the two parts and then try to switch on the appliance.

    If that does not help, then you might try to start the device using a single module of RAM.
    Maybe it's a question of s a RAM...

    Otherwise it s necessary to test the material parts and run diagnostic checks.
    This can be done by a Toshiba ASP.

    Original title: I deleted the files from automatic update and windows update keeps trying to install

    I've done an update for a long time on an old computer unused spare XP and Windows Update said that he had to update a large number of files, so I have left to download and install.  Once the 45 updates completed, I rebooted as instructed and proceeded to clean a lot of old data.  Apparently I deleted (7) files for Office M/S that must be installed, because the Winows Update icon in the status bar telling me I had 7 sto update to install.

    Now Win Update always tells me that the files should be updated and starts the process, telling me that they are already downloaded, but it fails every time because they are not where they should be, as I deleted them without meaning to.  How can I do the update for these startup files, or where can I get the appropriate files to allow the update work properly?

    Yes, I know it was stupid, but this is the frist time that I asked for help from Windows 3.1, so I don't feel too bad.

  • Satellite L300 - 17L connected to LCD TV - screen is always black

    Hello

    I have a problem with my laptop.
    When I try to connect my laptop to the TV via the VGA doesn't work anymore. It worked great until a few days before, when I try to connect via VGA and my LCD TV screen remains black.
    So I thought that a problem with my video card driver, so I reinstalled Windows :)),: P, but the problem still persist.

    So I downloaded the latest driver for the video card, nothing new. I checked the cable, I tried with another VGA cable and same problem. When I connect the LCD TV to another laptop it works, if the VGA cable and TV work.
    And I have observed that when my laptop is connected to the TV, sometimes at an interval of 15 minutes it get signal, but this for less than a second, and then the screen turn black. (Each time when I connect the TV I give FN + F5 to set the main screen)

    Any suggestion, I have no more ideas.
    Excuse my English. : P

    I also think that the VGA connector can be responsible for this.
    This must be tested properly, so I recommend you contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and ask for help.

  • B50 - 30 - black screen when starting since installing Windows 10

    Hello. I use a laptop Touch B50-30 Energy Star. It came with Windows 8.1. Recently, it is automatically promoted to the 10 Windows (which I really like). Unfortunately, since the upgrade, when I press the power button / the Lenovo logo appears on the screen, and then everything goes black and stays like that until I turn the power and then restart with the power again button.

    Does anyone else have this problem or if you did, how solve you this problem?

    You're in the wrong Forum for your questions.

    It is the instance to install Vista OS.

    You need the Vista repair Forum, or Windows Update Forum (which I have already mentioned on):

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistarepair/threads

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the information below does not it, repost nicely in Forum repair above or in the Windows Update Forum:
    Restore point:
    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    See you soon.

  • Need to WXP WLAN driver for my Satellite L300 - 17L

    Hello

    First, I want to sorry for my bad English. I'm from Slovenia.

    I have this laptop (Satellite L300 - 17L). I installed on my Vista and XP Pro SP2 disk. The drivers I need to install for Windows XP? Because my WiFi does not work. In Vista, it works fine, but XP does not work very well.

    Can you help me please?

    Welcome,.

    Mario

    Hello

    I think that you the WLan card cannot be accepted because you used all just a bad driver WLan.
    As I m wrong not the Satellite L300 - 17L belongs to the PSLBCE series and it was equipped with the * WLan Intel chip (Golan) *.

    I think you have tired to install the Realtek or Atheros WLan driver.
    I recommend that you install the driver from Intel.

    This forum thread should help you a little more:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=126485

    Users here discussed on the same theme and user Chad posted a link to the Toshiba WLan portal where the correct driver WLan could be found.

    If this is not the case, this!

    The European driver Toshiba page provides all necessary XP and Vista drivers for this laptop. As you know the Sat L300 - 17L belongs to the PSLBCE series and you must choose this series in the form of driver download.

    Please note; There are three different modem drivers. Check them all!
