Satellite L300-1AS - error when creating a recovery disk
I am trying to create disk recovery for Sat L300-1AS,
I tried a number of different DVD discs of high quality on DVD - R / DVD + R, but each time when the system checks the data, I get an error message 02016F - 3 c 00000000
What am I doing wrong please help as frustration is really starting to kick now
Die get the error not fully compatible DVD disc.
I created a recovery disk using the TDK DVD-R disc. Some people, he suggested too.
I think that worth a try!
Welcome and good luck
I just bought a Satellite Pro A300 with Windows XP.
I want to know how I can or if I need to create a recovery disk that will reset the machine to its original state.
The information gives instuctions on how to proceed for the Vista machines, but not for XP.
I know that I can recover from the hidden partition, but where this is not possible, I wish I could get CD or DVD.
There is a recovery CD included product that says only: "MS Windows XP" so I guess that it does not include drivers or Toshiba Software?
Any help appreciated,
You have preinstalled software Toshiba TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator?
Please check this box.
Using the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator you can create the recovery disk.
But if your laptop was already pre-installed with Windows XP and then a Recovery CD or DVD must be included.
Have you checked all of the items in the box?
I need to format my Satellite P200, but I have some difficulty. I lost the original disc that came with the laptop. I tried using the Recovery Disc Creator, but every time I run the application it I'm greeted by this error:
An unexpected error has occurred.
Exit this application and start it again.
(Error code: 0D00F6-26-00000001)
Have tried to reinstall, I just get the same error. What should I try next to the difficulty of the creator, or just the format differently?
I'm not very well if the Satellite P200 was equipped with drive recovery procedure HARD but nevertheless it s m worth a try.
If the HDD recovery procedure is available on your P200, then you should see the Toshiba HDD recovery option in a new window as soon as you click on fix my computer.
Otherwise, you will need to order the Toshiba Recovery disk:
Forgot to make a "restore CD" on the first departure to the top, is possible to do it later?
I really want to reinstall Windows Vista on my Satellite L300 - 17K, and I don't have any system´s CD when I bought the laptop. I asked the retailer a CD system, but he said I should get a message to the first boot, saying I should do a "restore CD". But I remember well, that message never came to the top.
So, how can I do now when I want to reinstall the system without having to purchase a new license?
Thanks in advance!
What OS you have installed now? If the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba is still installed, you can create a Toshiba Recovery disk if you start the Toshiba recovery disc creator. This tool is preinstalled on your computer in the start menu > all programs > Toshiba.
If you n t have no more the original OS, you can directly order a Toshiba Recovery disk:
Startup error - error PXE-L300 1AS - will not boot from USB
I recently bought a new HD to replace the original that my laptop takes an hour to load.
I put the new drive hard at in the BIOS setting, I chose to boot from USB... USB is recognized as it appears on the screen of the BIOS. I disabled the LAN option as it gives me PXE error... I think that the USB files are not read. as I handed the old HD and attached to boot from USB but it just goes to the start screen.
I thought that perhaps I bought the wrong HD, but a new appeared on the BIOS setting... I'm a bit confused and would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction...
Any help or advice will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
New HARD drive has nothing to do with it. Problem must be your USB key.
In your ad you didn t wrote what is on it, and we don t know if USB can operate as boot device or not.
I put t know what OS you want to install right now but original recovery DVDs or use Microsoft installation disc and install Win7 32 bit. I ve installed on friends L300 and it works perfectly.
At first my English isn't the best.
And now my problem:
When I try to create a new HARD drive recovery CD an error telling me there is a missing file
This is the error message:
The following file could not be opened,
(Error 020123-F1-00000000 code)
I just translated the error message then maybe there are a few mistakes in there.
I got a Satellite A300-1QD. Obtained on 20 March.
I put t know what to do. Can someone help me?
> I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?
In my opinion, you should follow:
Make screenshots of all the errors as evidence. Try to create a recovery media using DVD-R media and use high quality as TDK or Verbatim media.
If the same thing happen again try to contact nearest authorized maintainer and explain the situation. I hope that you will get a new original Toshiba recovery media.
The missing file is a serious problem for me and if you are unable to create recovery media, I fear that you can not install Vista using F6 option and the HDD recovery procedure. If this is true, you can stay without an operating system. Please don't make any experiences with F6.
Contact ASP and try to get a free recovery media. Use screenshots as evidence.
By the way: I Satellite A300, but I got lucky and creation of recovery worked correctly.
My son has a Satellite L300-1AQ equipped of vista. All of a sudden will load is more the laptop and automatic repair options fails too. There is a blue screen that appears, but only for a second when I try the repair option - then the laptop stops. We have no recovery disks.
Also, I have a laptop Satellite L300D-13 s that works well and suppose I could get a drive recovery- but prob diff drivers etc.
Can someone advise me how best to my sons laptop (Im not concerned about retrieving data as all saved already), but do not want to return to the factory settings including Vista. Do not know if using a laptop recovery disk is an option - instinctively is not as ever as simple as that.
All advice welcome please.
I can t imagine that the Satellite L300D recovery disc will work on Satellite L300. The hardware platform is different, because a single machine is equipped with Intel CPU and the other with AMD processor, so there's a big difference.
In addition, in the worst case, it could be a hardware problem and in this case the recovery disk does not work
What can you do now? I think you have to options: either you install Vista from a disk of Microsoft or order you a Toshiba Recovery disk: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
After installing the Microsoft disc, you can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site. Then you will also get back to factory settings, but it takes more time in the recovery disk because it contains an image which already all the drivers and tools are included/installed.
I hope I could help a bit. :)
My laptop started giving problems (slow start & suspended inbetween) so I tried to re-installation with installation disk but recovery whaile there ask lang. & confirmation of removal of data and after the installation of minutes collapsed & turn in DOS (X :) for admin.
When I restarted labtop it shows Bootmgr has failed.
So I contact customer Service & they replaced the HARD drive with new, but still the same problem.
I even tried to install XP SP2 after copying the files, it displays HARD drive not found.
L300 - 10 q series
Pls advice also how to check Windows XP is 32 or 64 bit?
If you try to install your laptop computer with the Microsoft installation disc, you need the SATA drivers. You can find it on the Toshiba site.
You must load the drivers of an external floppy drive or you integrate into a new CD with nLite (www.nliteos.com).
For the recovery disc you n t need these drivers because they are already on the disk.
If you get the same problem with the recovery disk, you should check your disk with Drive Fitness Test (Google is your friend).
I bought a L300 without OS and now his work well enough with Vista32. But I need to install Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator on this laptop. I tried several websites of toshiba, but I am unable to find this utility on the web (s) tosiba. Please help me with that and I appreciate if someone can send the download link for Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator Utility.
Boyfriend sorry but the recovery disc creator Toshiba cannot be downloaded.
Normally the creator Toshiba Recovery disk it s preinstalled on your laptop if the laptop comes with Windows Vista.
The only way to get a recovery disk is to order a new Toshiba directly:
I have a similar problem. I have a Satellite R630-13 t and tries to use the Toshiba recovery Media creator to create restoration 2 DVD discs.
When you try to create the first disc, I get the following message:
Cannot read the next file.
(Error code: 020150-20-00000000).
I get a similar message when you try to create the second. I tried four times. On my last attempt, I disabled the protection in real time on my virus checker (Windows Security Essentials) - I don't know how to close down completely, not sure you can. I also turned off wireless and bluetooth.
I need to create these discs please. I use anti-scratch Philips DVD + RW 4.7 GB 120 Min 1-4 x speed discs.
I know that someone else mentioned to try a different type of disc but I just bought these for this purpose and don't really want to buy more if I can help it. The disc type is certainly not a problem? When I look at the disc in the drive, they have files on them - even the file that the error message above says that he could not read.
I had similar experiences in the past and I can say that, after several tests using different types of media, I was able to create recovery discs using DVD-R only media.
Hey two disks empty buddy aren't really expensive so don't waste your time here awaiting a solution and buy two or three empty DVD-R discs and create recovery media.
Another tip: do not buy some cheap stuf but high quality TDK or Verbatim discs.
Hi, I tried to create the disks of backup for my new P300-1CN recovery, but I get a power calibration error (error code: 0E01B5-26-00037304) when the progress gets 50% on the first disc of "current" bar and 25% along the bar of"progress".
I have now tried 3 times and exactly the same thing happens every time.
I have the cable power in and power on a full battery.
Have you tried the disks from different manufacturers? I prefer to use DVD - R Verbatim and TDK discs.
Also on the site of Toshiba, I can find a few updates firmware for the CD/DVD drive. Check if you have such a unit and update the firmware.

Have a portable Satellite Pro A300-28V with Vista Business 32. After a HARD disk recovery partition recovery, I decided to use the PC function full system backup to make a picture for later retrieval with all my current settings. Too inconvenient for factory reset default (Thunderbird 3.0 Mail, Open Office and some other small applications already running no problem for years on another computer in the office).
The system needs 5 to 9 DVD and he wrote the first DVD. Takes about 30 minutes. Then, during the audit of this disc, it crashes. Audit bar stops at about 30% complete.
Anyone with this experience? No, the company "Complete PC Image" works well on an OEM of Vista installation?
Or maybe it's the DVD player in need of an update? I do not use a 3rd party burning software.
What program you use to create your own recovery discs? For example, I mean Acronis, Norton Ghost, etc..
In your case I would try with another program like Nero or CD Burner XP burning.
In addition, you can try to remove upper and lower filters in the Windows registry, maybe that will work.
Finally, and especially on the Toshiba site, you can check if there is an update to the firmware of your CD/DVD drive.
I have problems with the TOSHIBA recovery disk creator. When you try to create the recovery disks this error pops up:
An unexpected error has occurred. Exit this application and start it again. (Error code: F1-0F00FE-00000002)
The machine is a Satellite U205-S5034 under XP Pro SP3.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.
What kind of DVD that you use to create a Toshiba Recovery disk? I have tried Verbatim DVD-R and TDK DVD-R and never had a problem with these discs. A friend tried DVD + R and he couldn t create a recovery disk. After he tried DVD-R and everything was fine but I do not know why this happened.
So please try other discs.
Also, check the Toshiba page for an update of the firmware of the CD/DVD drive. Maybe it will help you.
My problem is that: when I try to open the TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator application gives me the following error: 'UNABLE to get information of the disk controller' with options accept or Cancel when I agree, and then gives the following error--> "there was an unexpected error. on this application and then restart it. Error code: 0d00f6-49-00000001 "then accept following error"there was an unexpected error. on this application and then restart it. Error code: 0d 0172-49-00000001 "then accept, the application opens correctly.
Please, I need a respond to errors, thanks.
> Then accept, the application opens correctly.
And then you can create the successful Toshiba Recovery disk?
If you create the recovery disk properly it of not so important to me because normally, you start the program once and you will not need more.
I just bought a model L300 PSLB0C 08R08C number.
I was unable to create a recovery disk, I was getting an error message saying it cannot create disk because it is scratched or has dirt on it, I lost 5 nine DVD.
I am went to the store and replaced by another unit, but had the same problem (I have not tried a different brand of DVD well)
Second issue with this device, the screen flashes once whenever it is in a shutdown state.
Number 3, the wireless card disappears from the Device Manager, until I restart.
Laptop made in China ;-)
Any suggestions are much apprecaited
It is indeed strange that you were unable to create a recovery disk, and that the problem has resurfaced, even after permutation of the laptop with another unit of the store. However, if you have not tried a different brand of DVD so I suggest that if the laptop asks the disc is scratched or has dirt on it. I'm not sure if toshiba factory in fact blank DVDs, but if they do, it would be a starting point, as one would expect hardware toshiba would happily work with their own brand DVD media. However, if you can't find toshiba dvd then use another trust mark, for example, Imation and TDK. with my experience, I have tried many brands of DVD and have found very reliable TDK.
regarding the second question, this may be related to the graphics card in the system, or could be due to the performance of the computer laptop itself. Check that you have the latest driver for your graphics card and all the settings on the computer are optimized / hard drives are defragmented and deleted unnecessary files. with your third question, this question could also be related to driver problems, check your regional drivers toshiba site for the latest drivers again. failing this, I would back up your data and then restore to a factory condition, then install the drivers immediately. I hope this info can help you somehow.
