Satellite L300-1EF - black screen on startup

I have problem with my Toshiba Satellite L300-1EF appearing suddenly, I had no problem or warning before.

When I start my laptop, I saw the Toshiba logo and inside a black with a line screen say press F2 to enter BIOS and F12 for the menu start and after that, everything I've seen is [* _ *] in the upper left corner.
I rebooted and tried to get into the BIOS or boot menu, but noting one again had the same screen. I can open the tray of the CD, and when I run the HARD drive light flashes and then remains 2-3 seconds and then disappears.

Help will be appreciated.

Hello

Have you tried an external monitor on the laptop? So you can determine if the screen is black, the mother/graphics card or a faulty internal monitor.
Check this box!

But I think that you will need help from a technician for laptop. It might be a hardware problem and laptop disassembly isn't so easy and should only be done by professional technicians.

Welcome them

    Hello

    It happens from time to time when I try to start my PLUA1E Satellite Pro U200-02802QS4, then I get a black screen even from the BIOS.
    What is wrong and how to fix this?

    BTW, I already have this BIOS version: P0044v370.exe installed.

    Hello

    This happens from time to time?
    This means that you can not reproduce this problem?

    Hmm that's not easy to say what the issue might be.
    Maybe the BIOS update will help you at the moment you can find BIOS 3, 7 victory on the European driver Toshiba page.
    If you have a lower BIOS version installed, then I recommend an update.

    It is also possible that this problem is related to some of the material; motherboard, screen, etc.
    In this case the part should be replaced but first of all it of necessary to know what part is affected and I think that the technician of the ASP for this

  • Satellite C660D 15F - black screen after startup

    Satellite C660D 15F

    Hi guys,.

    I have a big problem with my laptop. When I started to-go from sleep - two days ago I heard the computer starts normally but the screen remains black. No mater how many times I tried to restart, the screen shows nothing, no message no picture. The normal operation of the side light remains on but the keyboard lights stay offshore. I can hear the computer normally (the fan etc..).

    I tried to hit SHIFT F8 start buttom on the first night, and the image was on the first attempt when I started the machine and everything seemed normal again! The next few days, I got a black screen once more and the case never worked again, no matter how many times I tried.

    Can someone help me please get out of this mess? Has anyone had a similar problem? How do solve you?

    My machine is now exactly four years.

    Thank you very much for your ideas! I really need to access some files on there!

    Hello

    Disconnect the power and remove the battery. After doing this press the power for 30 seconds about and try to reset your machine. Leave it for a while and try to start with power current only.

    I have Satellite L40 - 18z. It has a black screen when I try to start it. I took out the battery unit and unplugged overnight. And again, I have a black screen.

    Is there anything else I can try?

    Have you tried taking it to warranty service?

  • Satellite A200 - TJ5---> black screen at startup

    Hi all

    Here is the story:

    Yesterday I played poker with my laptop and suddenly the screen freeze. that is no more keyboard/mouse, time frozen.
    There is no battery in my laptop so I unplugged the power supply.

    When I plugged it in, I pushed the power button. Fan were to happen, the blue leds on the power cord, power came. The hard drive led will begin to Flash. But the screen was black! No backlight at all. The computer seemed to start as long as the hard drive light was lit more after 5 seconds or more.

    I made theses steps 3 - 4 times. No results.

    I managed to control memory, traded the sodimm 2 x 2 giga with sodimm 2x1gig, than i've got, same effect, stay at black screen. Restoration on this...

    WAITED 5 minutes without battery/power cord. Everything started on the right.

    I ran a memory diagnostic tool for 24 hours after that, no problem at all.
    I already have the latest version of the bios.

    In this forum I found the solution to be able to remove, let stand for 30 minutes and the black screen disappeared. But I don't think it's a long-term solution.

    I am concerned about this problem. (Black screen) because I understand that it is a hardware failure?
    Someone to know more about this kind of problem?

    Hmmm. eventually it s a hardware issue, but as you know it's really not easy to provide suggestions without any detailed portable /hardware controls.

    So if you want, you can contact the nearest ASP in your country and can ask for the portable diagnostic test.

    See you soon

  • Satellite C670-178 - black screen on startup

    Hey,.

    I wanted to reinstall Windows on my machine of girlfriends. I started in the Bios and I tried to find the setting to boot from a USB device, but I couldn't find it. Somehow, I stupidly put all settings in the bios by default constructor and after restarting the screen remained black.

    I can start but I can't do anything. I can't get into the bios, I don't see anything... Is it bricked? I hope you guys can help us, because she'll probably kill me :(

    Hello

    Oh Maurel... What have you done? I mean if set you the BIOS to default settings, that something like this should not happen.
    When you start your machine and press F8 or F12 at startup is no reaction?
    Usually with F8, you can enter the advanced boot and with F12 boot menu options.

  • Satellite L500-1XJ - black screen after startup

    We have a portable Satellite L500-1XJ that our 3 year old got to and pressed the buttons on the key board. Now when you turn it on the screen gives aflicker then rest dark.
    I tried FN + F5 and FN F7 to see if it was passed to the external screen or brightness was rejected, but makes no difference.

    Do you have advice as to how I might be able to solve the problem?

    > Now when you turn it on the screen gives aflicker then remains grim. I tried FN + F5 and FN F7 to see if she was reactivated on the external screen or brightness was turned down but
    > makes no difference.

    It looks like serious problems with the related material to the mobo (vga). You can access Bios at startup, or the display is just dark? External monitor is connected to the laptop?

  • Satellite C855-273 - black screen on startup

    Hello, sorry for my English.

    My Satellite C855 started not to download windows 8, I wanted to try to restore with recovery DVDs, but began on-screen display strange colored pixels. I tried to enter the bios to save data with a live ubuntu. I get out of the bios without change, but now the display does not work. I tried to use an external display with vga, but nothing... The display does not indicate the load screen toshiba still and I can't enter the bios, LEDs and fan work but do not understand what has happened.
    someone help me solve the issue please.

    It is possible the BIOS restore?

    On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but somehow, I feel that the BIOS is doomed. Why? I don't know what you did exactly.
    Why this action with Unbuntu Live? For what?

    During the installation of Recovery Wizard is interrupted, it is possible to start it again. I don't know if this will help, but try to reset your machine.
    Disconnect the power and remove the battery. After that press the power button / stop for about 20 seconds. Leave it for a while and try to start your laptop with AC power only.

    What happens when you do this?

  • Satellite A305-S6898 - half black screen at startup

    I bought this laptop in early March and had to return to store due to a problem at startup when half of the screen would be black on the Windows login screen. They ordered me a new I got about 3 weeks ago and I used it for about a week before I had the same problem of a half black screen on startup.

    Now he has been running really slow and there is a time, I've had it freeze on me and my screen turn into a bunch of colored lines.
    I had to reboot in safe mode and run a virus scan just to make sure it wasn't my problem.

    I do not download anything on this computer other than basic messengers and photo editing programs.
    I have a HP MP7170N desktop computer which I use to download everything that seems to work faster than the laptop and I use photo, download torrents programs and store most of my pictures and music on this one and it has only 1 GB of memory compared to this the 4 GB.

    What is the problem?
    Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.
    I can't really go back to the shop because they give only a grace period of 14 days for returns.

    > I had the same problem of a half black screen on startup.
    > Now he has been running really slow and there is a time, I've had it freeze on me and my screen turn into a bunch of colored lines.

    Doesn't look good for me it sounds a bit like graphic problem.
    Before contacting a professional Toshiba authorized service provider would be, it would be interesting to know if you have seen improvements after recovery procedure and BIOS updated.
    I think you n t get a recovery disk because you can create it using the verification of software preinstalled Toshiba manual how to create the recovery disk

    If, after installing new check usability of portable and so similar issues still persists.
    If nothing will change it s is strongly recommended to communicate with an ASP.

  • Black screen on startup Satellite A80

    I get a black screen at startup what is the problem and what is the solution for it? It might have something to do with the cold?

    Hi poly

    Please put more details on the problem, because it s not easy to say what has happened without any detailed information. You hear the operation of the HARD disk or fans?
    Switch you to other devices to display, before this problem occurs?
    Unfortunately it FN + F5 key combination doesn't work if the operating system has started so it could be a malfunction of the equipment. I don t think you can solve this problem by yourself. In this case, the only way is to contact the service.

  • Satellite A100 - black screen on startup

    For two days my laptop Toshiba A100-495 / model-No. PSAA9E-18F047GR / Y6065357Q with Windows XP SP3 serial shows a black screen at startup. There is still no picture Windows startup.

    The laptop is all starting, but after finishing and be ready for use, the screen is always black. When I am pressing Fn + F5 keys, the desktop appears.

    The black screen is only starting cold after stopping, not awareness of standby or pause.

    > When I am pressing Fn + F5 keys, the desktop appears

    It seems that the display output is set to external monitor
    You see the Toshiba start screen if the laptop is connected to the external monitor?
    Check it!

    In addition, I am agree with Akuma BIOS should be the default value.
    To access the BIOS F2 press while turning on the laptop. I hope that you can do this then press F9 for default settings and then exit the BIOS save settings.

  • B540 TDR and black screen on startup

    Hi all, I bought a B540 in April a power works fine until end of July when it began to show the error "display driver has stopped working and has recovered." a few days later I let him (I have need as a wifi station to connect devices remove) and after a few hours of work, when I came back, the screen was off and there wa no way to turn it on. I press the power button for a few seconds to turn off the pc and he died. When I turned on, the computer started but the screen is off (not the 'lenovo' logo was shown on the eve) but everything else seemed to work (play plug/unpluging usb external hard drive the sound of the carachteristic). I turned off again and wait ten minutes before the market again, this time above the 'lenovo' logo was shown, but it seems that the pc failed to boot win 8. I unlplugged everything, removed the power cord, wait an hour and after that all started ok but the error message "display driver stop" was still there. After this date the computer randomly starts ok or with the screen. Given that I do not use it intensively Isuspected some windows update to cause this strange behavior and I'm trying to use a point of restoration, until July 17, but the problem was still there. Then I removed all recent windows update of June on, and I realized that in one case, it was not possible (i.e. the "remove/uninstall" button not showed that KB). I googled around and found the subject KB has been reported to broken system and the only way to react was to use a DOS command to reatore a new installation of the system. I did and actually everything works ok for 2 days (one day, I actually use the PC all day to upload stuff to iternet it to work). Unfortunately, after that day, everything seems to repeat: new 'pilot not resposinding to display' and a black screen at startup.

    Please consider that the system is quite new and clean (only 3/4 months of life) and everything works fine until end of July. What do you suggest me?

  • Power outage during Vista SP2 install; black screen on startup of the PC

    Hello-

    I have a PC desktop Gateway which is no longer start after a power failure has occurred during the installation of Vista SP2. The computer displays the progress at the bottom indicator, then, before that can display the login screen, the screen goes black, with a white cursor. CTRL-Alt-Del and Ctrl-Shift-Esc do nothing.

    I tried without success to the following:

    * Safe Mode/Safe Mode control guest - boots to black screen new
    * Startup Repair - told me there is nothing wrong
    * System Restore - tells me there is no available restore points
    * System restore the OEM DVD - can not find hard drive
    * Re-install this is disabled because I can't start Windows Vista-

    There are * all * options other than wiping the disc/lose all my data? The PC is in a remote area and backup drive is not an easy thing to achieve.

    The PC is no longer under warranty of the bridge, and I understand that Microsoft supports is no longer installs OEM of Vista.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    -Andrew

    I can tell you how to make bootable disks, but you already have a disk.

    He has changed since good means of XP repair install from disk by booting from it.

    I would add that info to disk Bootable repair, just in case your DVD is a factory of one computer.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html

    It's Vista only repair installation option these days.
    It must be switched on!
    Not much use, is it!

    Good luck with it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Above information shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista Startup Repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    See you soon.
