Satellite L300 - broken screen & wheel volume produce cccccc

Hallo,

In any case, I own a satellite L300 and have for about a year now, I think and there many things broken on it, not really my fault, but I have to pay for it, so I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get it fixed/how much etc if I can do it myself / send it to Toshiba (which would cost a lot more wouldn t it?)

First of all, it has a broken screen, I always use because Ive had attached to a television screen that took me aggges to find and put in place haha, but the screen is cracked and only about a third of the left side is slightly visible, so Id need to fix this. BTW I have a not break it, terribly boring father-in-law did annoy me, long story.

Second, it has a little thing of button on the front for the volume that you can turn left to go down and right to go up etc, in any case, I was away from home for about a week and my mother used my laptop and when I got this little button has been broken, she refused to break and said I did but I was not at home for a week so I don't know how I did... So, every time I touch as long as this thing the volume button will what either straight up to 0, no matter how I turn it on, and if I'm on msn or a written document program whenever I touch the button he squirts the letter c and the letter b at random, so I don't know honestly what's wrong with it , here is an example; cccccccccccccccccccbbcccbcccc

Finally (and hopefully last) the battery will NOT stay in its holder thing, I don't know how that broke but I had currently recorded to and the slightest movement it will hit to and having her terribly boring to keep connected and have all these cords for connection to the screen of the TV and the power etc..

So I need to know how/who/what/when/where to get these fixed and how much. I'll probably have to save up for ages because I work on the minimum wage for a 17-year old, a huge $ 10 an hour, so I'm hoping that it does not cost too much.

I like my laptop and I really need to go to college next year, so I hope I can get it repaired at this time here.

Thanks in advance, hope someone knows what I am after haha.

If the screen is broken, then a replacement is necessary. The laptop must be disassembled and it is not easy! It s really complicated to remove all that part in good order and not recommend this if you never disassembled the laptop.
The new screen can be purchased from an ASP in local (partner), but it is not cheap!
It s about $ 300-380

Had the same problem. It s seems to be linked to dirty contacts I could solve this cleaning contacts near the volume wheel. I used the jet of compressed air and I didn't remove the lids or plastic parts

The must be something broken I have no idea what you are doing with this laptop but it sounds like plastic parts, holders are broken and the battery (maybe other parts too) can not be fixed and mounted as it should

I think that it of better to sell this unit and buy a new

Who knows what have you that your screen is white?

  • Satellite L300-PSLB8E - screen becomes all white and the laptop freezes

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 PSLB8E. I initially bought with Windows Vista already installed on it. After a few years, I changed the operating system Windows 7 Ultimate. I installed the display and all the other necessary drivers (that is, sound, network, etc.).

After I installed Windows 7, when I use the laptop for a while, the screen becomes all white and the laptop hangs. This happens spontaneously. Sometimes, in less than 10 minutes and other times that it can work perfectly for hours. I checked for loose batteries and other components, but everything seems fine.

Physical damage only that there is a tiny crack on the screen in the bottom right of the screen. The operating system is not good? If I put windows Vista back as it was?

Please advise and help understand me what the problem is with the laptop.

Until we start discussion can you tell me what you do when this happen?
    Hard stop and restart?
Is everything OK again when you do?

It is not easy to say what exactly is the problem, but I put t think there is problem with OS and preinstalled display driver. A long time ago I installed Win7 Home Premium on friends L300 and it works perfectly.

What you can try is to use the external monitor for a while and see if everything works well. If so, there is no problem with the operating system, drivers or graphics card. It may be that the display problem.

Hmm have you tried to reinstall / recover the laptop to see if it helps to solve this problem?
In my opinion you should try it because it could be a problem in the system.

Otherwise if new system installation / restore does not help you, it could be a malfunction of the equipment.

  • Satellite L300 - black screen on startup

    Hello

I have the Satellite L300 nine out of the box, I used it twice now, when I turn it on the power light turns on but no screen.
    Does anyone have a solution?

  • Satellite L300 - external screen works fine until the Windows login

    Hello world

I am trying to use an external display with my Toshiba Satellite L300 and it works up until I have to Log in Windows (or in Ubuntu just had the same problem).

At this point, the laptop does not seem to recognize the external display more and jump using the internal screen again.

It might be relevant: I'm using dual boot Win XP and Ubuntu Hardy.
The problem occurs in both systems.

Someone knows how to fix this?

Maybe the resolution is set too high?

Try a lower resolution and an update of the BIOS.

  • Satellite C - broken screen series

Tonight, I ran my computer screen that I rested it down (not too hard, but he slipped a bit from my grip).

The laptop seems to work fine except for a problem with the screen. About 3 quarters of the screen does not work, it's just white background with colorful stripes and a large black diagonal.

Is this likely to be simply a screen broken, which could be solved by replacing the screen itself? I'm waiting to order a new screen, but I don't want to spend the money if the problem is likely to be something else...

I also said that it is relatively easy to replace the screen yourself. I did minor repairs on laptops / pc in the past (new keyboard/keypad). I don't have insurance/assurance and can not afford a pro. Is this something, I should be able to do it myself?

    Can anyone help?

  • Satellite L300:Blue screen and 'technical information' STOP: 0 x 00008086.

    Hello

I have a huge problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L-300. Whenever I have load it I get a blue screen and the "technical information" STOP: 0 x 00008086.

I saw answers to this when it is suggested that you go in safe mode and then follow the steps from there, but when I press F8 I get a loud beep and the computer carries its load before coming with the same blue screen.

I am able to enter the configuration utility (F2) and the Boot Manager (F12), but that's all.
What I do, he turns to blue screen with the same information.
Tried to reinstall from the CD of restoration without success.

    Help would be massively appreciated.

    Hello

    > Tried to reinstall from the recovery without success CD.
In this case, it seems hardware problem.
BSOD can be a product of memory problems. Try to delete a memory modules and test the laptop with a module in each slot. The two test modules.

But this could be one of the possible malfunctions

    Hello

You are able to do anything on the laptop?
I mean if you are able to access the BIOS or boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk?

    Isn't it?

Well, in that case try this:
Unplug the power adapter, remove the battery, wait 1 hour and then reconnect the AC and battery. Try to feed the machine

  • Satellite L300-1DI screen keeps freezing

This isn't the first problem iv met before with this laptop and in each case, I had to restore to factory, removing everything. The problem I have now is that the screen of the laptop freezes after about ten-fifteen minutes from start-up. If im watching a video, the sound will still play, but not the image.
Anyone know what the underlying problem and if there is a way to overcome this problem?
    Thank you
    mast

    Hi Matt

It is not easy to say why this is happening. Maybe you should explain the problem with more details.
What kind of videos you're watching (DVD, avi, mpg movies)?
    Which player do you use?
This happens on the same format of video?

Have you tested on different actors?
What did you do to find out why this happens?

  • Satellite L300 - black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left

    July 11, 2010
My computer purchased on March 7, 2009.

I don't know if there is a problem of tension, but there is certainly a problem of heat and since I bought it, almost constantly overheating. For about 2 months, it became more slower to load the desktop. For about 1 month, the operating system found himself in a cycle of rebooting - rebooting repeatedly instead of start normally.

On July 11, 2010, the Windows XP operating system would not start. Lit black screen, blinking cursor in the top left. The computer does not have a Windows startup disk and won't start not in: -.

Difficulty a corrupt partition boot sector - YES
Difficulty of a corrupt master boot record - No.

    I pressed F2, F8, F10 and F12.

    Hello

It seems that something was tangled up in your Windows installation and the computer can no longer start t.

In this case, you have only one option and that s reinstalling Windows. Therefore, you can take the (better) Toshiba Recovery disk or a Microsoft Windows XP disk. It will restore factory settings and your computer is read to use again.

    Check this box!

  • Re: Satellite L300 - black screen with flashing white cursor

All of a sudden my laptop won't start more. It turns on, displays screen toshiba for a second and then goes to a black screen with a blinking white line in the upper left corner. I can't type something here! The last time I used it it was 100% very well, I have not downloaded anything so I'm very curious to what it might be.

    Help, please!

    Hi mate,

Maybe something messed up to the top of your Windows installation and if the computer may start t more or your HARD drive becomes faulty...

You can access the BIOS? If so, check if your HARD drive is recognized. If so I think that it of necessary to reinstall Windows. Therefore, take the Toshiba recovery disc.

    Good day to you all,.

I have a satellite P300 and the wheel of the front volume control no longer work as before. Unable to adjust the volume, unless openind sound icon control. In addition, if I try to adapt (volume) while working with a word processor, a series of C is written on the page to the screen.

    Thanks a lot
    JCP34

    Hi JCP34,

I found a similar thread on the same behavior on Satellite A300 and the solution was very simple: it's the dirt on the inside and with jet of compressed air, blow it. After that, it s working again.
