Satellite L300 - does not successfully start Vista

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 when I boot it it goes directly to the Boot Manager screen where I have to start it manually. Once it starts it does not work correctly until I click on the Quick Launch button to stop scrolling up and down line.

I have a full recovery of the system twice, but I'm still having the same problem.

Can anyone help?

Hello

To be honest I don t understand what you mean exactly
What happens if you press F8 immediately after the laptop has been power up?
You can see the Advanced Boot Menu?

If so, then try option called last known good configuration.
If this does not help try you safe mode.

The Wi - fi switch on the front is also in position to position IT. Please help I have to up my laptop up and running as soon as POSSIBLE.

    > I tried to install the Realtek RTL8187B Wireless LAN driver both Atheros Wireless LAN Driver, but neither helped.

If the wireless network adapter is recognized in Device Manager, you n t need to install the WLan driver.
In addition, you said that you can see the wireless networks available in your environment. This means that the WiFi is enabled and works

I think that you should disable the WiFi settings (WEP, WPA, etc.) only for testing purposes and should try to connect the laptop to the network open, if possible, that means that you badly chosen encraption or the password.

  • Satellite L300 - does not connect to the grid

my daughter ran in front of me yesterday and ripped the power cable from the plug, and now the laptop does not connect to the grid. Is there a how to on how to disassemble the laptop so I can try to reattech the plug to the motherboard?

    Thank you

    Hi the horse stable,

In general there is no technical manual which can be downloaded. These user manuals are not for the public, and I saw manual user on the official website of Toshiba.

Which means you have to disassemble the laptop yourself or ask a maintainer approved assistance. You can also get new spare parts from these guys there, and they can help you address all of the issues of material. :)

  • Satellite L300 - does not recognize audio or blank CDs

My L300 recognizes and plays DVD but not recognize or play audio CDs or burn them to blank CDs. Any ideas?

    Hello

The forum contains a large number of discussions on the issues on the CD/DVD drive. You must use the forum search because everything has already been written and there you should find the solution to your problem.

Just a little tip: try to delete upper and lower filters.

  • Re: Satellite L300 - does not play music CD

Hi new guys on this forum

My Satellite will not play the music CD. When put to work very well.

Please help do not know even how to read answers yet

    Hello!

Have you tried another CD of music? Maybe the CD is noisy and can t be read properly then you should try another.
In addition, it would be interesting to know what exactly is happening, if you put in the disk. Have you also tried another program to listen to the CD (e. g. VLC media player)?

Your CD/DVD is listed with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager? If Yes, you must remove the upper and lower registry filters. Ask Google to find a comment about it.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300 - does not recognize CD

DVDs are recognized and are playing very well, so he can't be a hardware problem or a problem with the laser. Have you tried a number of CD, so can not be a problem with the CD damaged or scratched either (I take care of them and keep them quite clean anyway :)))

Have been searching the net for a resolution to the problem and it seems that many people have had this prob (then why not Toshiba has recognized this and sent a kind of patch/update to fix?). I can't find something that solves it however... I went into Device Manager and checked for the driver updated and changes made to the hardware and also removed the upper/lower filters... still nothing (although strangely a CD * fact * play briefly when I scanned it for hardware updates!) But the sound quality is really poor, so at the time wherever I've fiddled about once again with pieces of others, he stopped playing, or by being recognized again... When the CD is in the drive, and I'm going to drive to see if it is recognized, it is just empty, as if there is nothing in there.

I think about uninstalling the driver, but a little worried about to do in the case where I can't find the right driver to reinstall again... then I will be drunk!

    Hello

Is it not all CD or DVD discs are compatible with all CD/DVD players
This happens because of manufacturers of different disk that supports each disk of different properties

That is why it s always advisable to test different drives from various manufacturers in my case TDK CD - R and DVD-R (the blue one) are working properly and are compatible with my CD/DVD drive

However, you can only view the Toshiba driver page if a CD/DVD update firmware is available for your CD/DVD drive in addition to information on the driver page that you can find information about what CD/DVD drive would be supported by an update of the firmware

Last but not least, you can try to delete upper and lower filters in the registry as shown in this article of MS:

    Hello

Problem with the SATELLITE L300-13R, fails to start Vista.
Pressing F12 with recovery dvd, dvd loading starts, then stops after about 30 seconds, leaving a blank screen.

We also saw the following message

    STATUS: 0XC00000E9
INFO: An unexpected i/o error has occurred

There is also an explanation it may be due to an external device that has not been properly disconnected or a hardware error.

The recovery disks worked fine a few weeks ago.

    Any other ideas?

    Hello

Have you tried the HARD drive recovery?
You could start this press F8 at the beginning.
Then choose repair my computer, then the HARD drive recovery.

You must also set BIOS to default and safe settings changes.
    Then try again.

I have the Satellite Pro P300 in front of me. I use it almost 4 weeks now and I press the Start button, very gently and keep it down to the second or two and laptop starts fine everytime I want to start it.

Do not press the button quickly several times but slowly and keep it down for a second or two.

  • Satellite C660 does not start on disc or USB

My Toshiba Satellite C660-DSC0QE app, BIOS version 1.80, will not start Windows more - it just goes to the dreaded black screen with white cursor.

I tried a system Win 7 recovery disk, a USB with software from Kaspersky on her recovery and even a full Win 7 installation disc, and it does not start at one of them.

The boot order is set correctly, (optical drive or USB port) devices are read, but their initialization never actually in them - there is an obscure error message, or it acts like they weren't there at all.

The obvious answer to these forums seems to be disable secure boot mode and then switch the to the CSM UEFI boot mode. Easier said than done - the menu options don't exist at all in my BIOS/CMOS screens.

Finally, I see no way in the instructions to get a BIOS update occur without being already in Windows on the PC - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm I'm assuming that the BIOS version 2.00 would have these options.

    Any help gratefully accepted!

    Hello

I assumed that you have a white blinking cursor in the upper left corner.
    Is this correct?

These symptoms appear where the system can not find a boot device (HARD drive) or memory problems (RAM module).

First of all, you said that you have UEFI / CSM boot mode in the BIOS settings.
So I m asking you what parameters of start mode appear in BIOS exactly?
Find you these settings in the right area?
Usually, you should have an area (tab) called security in the BIOS.
In most cases, you will find a safe boot option, but the Satellite C660 does not support this option because it s too old.
But the startup mode (UEFI /CSM) should be available in the BIOS. Check the settings in the BIOS of the system area

Anyway, as I said above; It could also be a memory problem, so I recommend you to check if the memory is OK.

  • Satellite A300D-158 illumination button does not work on Vista

Buttons light Toshiba does not work under Vista.

I installed added package versions available in Toshiba support page, but Toshiba Assist do not see the list of function buttons where I can change the feature keys.

When this value added package is uninstalled all buttons works with WMP, but during the installation - do not.
Illumination power button is not working do not by the press.

This means support to toshiba button does not work properly with vista.

I don't have these problems with XP

    Hello

As far as I know, you can enable and disable the lighting in the BIOS.
Go to BIOS and check if you can activate it.

By the way; you said that buttons don t work with Vista.
Have you tested this with Vista OS preinstalled Toshiba?

    You should do this!

  • Satellite A300 does not Logitech Bluetooth receiver.

    Hello

My problem is that I don't know exactly what the problem...
I have a laptop of 1MS Satellite A300 does not have built-in Bluetooth

I have a bluetooth (MX5000 series) Logitech mouse that I installed for Windows Vista (I downloaded the latest driver of Logitech's official website)
The Logitech software for bluetotth is called set point and the Assembly says I can connect other bluetooth devices through the bluetooth mouse receiver (like a cell phone, for example).

The mouse works perfectly well, the problem starts when I try to connect my cell phone to the laptop (with the Nokia PC Suite software). I get a message that says that there is no bluetooth hardware installed. I tried to look in the bluetooth configuration control panel, but it isn't here. I can't find a folder or a tool that allows me to set up bluetooth.

I would like to know what is the problem, why my laptop does not recognize the bluetooth receiver.
I used to have installed on another laptop with Windows XP and it used to work without any problems.

I tried the receiver in all the USB ports on the laptop with no result.

    Hi guys

I can say with certainty that the Satellite A300-1 ms was not was equipped with the internal BT module and so the laptop does not recognize the Bluetooth receiver
If you want to connect to the laptop to the external BT device then you need a BT USB key for example.

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 does not work on Vista 64 bit Ultimate

When I start the game it gives an error saying that I have 0 MB of RAM installed.
I also have a stub GPF.

I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and added ZT.exe in exceptional cases.
I edit "MSCONFIG" to show only 2 GB of ram.

The issue of ram 0 MB goes, but I still I get a stub of protection error when I start the game.

The thing is my old Zoo Tycoon 1 full collection works very well.
ZT1 was released around 2001-2002. Whereas ZT2 came out around 2006.
How can and more old-fashioned work fine but not the new version. I expect it to be the other way around.

Someone at the helpdesk said MS the ZT2 game does not work on Vista 64 bit and I should install a virtual machine so that it can work in 32-bit.
Is really the only way? Help, please.

    Hi orbit17,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers.

Try to turn on DEP for "Windows programs and services only" and then restart the computer and check with the game.

Here is a link to a KB which deals with the minimum requirements of the system and the compatibility problems with Zoo Tycoon 2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/889368

Please make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the game and that your computer is compatible

Also how much RAM do you have installed on the computer?
Did you add extra RAM since the purchase of the computer?

You can also try to run the memory diagnostic tool by using the Windows Vista DVD.

    I hope this helps.
    Kind regards
