Satellite L300/L300D starts to get very hot when I play games

Hello I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L300/L300D
Bicoeur Turion Rm-74
2048 MB of ram 800 mhz / + 2048 MB
250 GB HDD 5400 RPM Sata
15Wxga trubrite tft screen
DVD super multi drive 2 layer
w-lan 802. 11 b / g
webcam bought Spain, Lanzarote and has one year and I has not had any problems until now, but in the last 2 months I have had this problem
the computer starts fine in the heat when I play a game and after it stops completely, and I need to let it cool a little before you can start again.
What do you think is the problem?

It is not easy to say with certainty what the problem is, but for you, it's portable clean.
Maybe there's a lot of dust inside and dirt block cooling rack.

When the laptop cannot be cooled correctly the material temperature reached the critical level very quickly and portable will switch down without any warning or message.

My Satellite Pro A60 had been getting very hot (especially on the upper right corner).

I also noticed for several months that the fan never stops and it very is nosiy.

Thanks for any help you can provide :)

    Hi Jay,.

Continuous fan activity high speed could well indicate that the dust blocks the heat sink. Try to blow through the exit gates to clear any dust or otherwise try to use a hose of household vacuum on the suction air grids.

Your laptop will have a thermal trigger installed to cut the current if the temperature becomes too high to avoid any damage.

Finally, make sure your laptop is enough space adjacent to the air intakes for the ventilation of air to enter.

  • Computer to get very hot when you sit on your knees

I have a laptop that I had received that had Windows XP but I got a free Cd of Vista to install and we have installed. Know that it works fine, but it gets really hot when you have it on your lap. Y at - it something I can do to cool.

Overheating can cause sudden stops of your machine.

As this is a portable computer, you must make sure that the vents are regularly cleaned of dust, etc..

You may need to get a Tech to open upwards and clean on the inside.

Also make sure that the laptop is in a well ventilated area, not used on the bedspreads, blankets, etc.

You can buy cans of compressed air to clean computers at most computer stores.

And make sure that the fans are working properly.

  • IPhone 6 display Cracked (?), turn on / make a comeback, gets very hot when load

    Hello

Last night I dropped my phone pretty bad and he has apparently been broken. There is no physical cracks that I see on the glass, but the screen itself is cracked, and as soon as it happened, there were colors and lines going on everywhere. Finally she totally disappeared in the dark, but now not turn on or make any comments to indicate that something does not work. In desperation, I tried to connect to see what who would do, but he doesn't do become abnormally hot.

Anyone think they know what the issue is here? I plan on it taking a Genius Bar tonight or tomorrow, but I'm afraid that it is not as simple as just a screen shot...

Yes, drop the phone must have damaged some parts more inside the unit. But by getting only the phone tested on the Apple Store you will get more details on the repair options.

My Satellite L350-171 gets very hot and then stops spontaneously. When I pass it back on I can get the message that he has not closed properly and I want to boot into SafeMode etc.

Does anyone else have this problem / solution?

    Solution?
This isn't the latest model cell phone, so I assume it's pretty full of dust that blocked cooling grill and the cooling fan. In my opinion, you should clean it up to cooling system of free brand of SCT. After this laptop will be able to take a new breath and material can be cooled correctly.

How to do this? On the internet you can find many pages and short films how to do this using compressed air. Google around a bit.

Second option is professional cleaning. In this laptop case will be disassembled and cleaned cooling system. Of course, it is the best solution but must be done by authorized personnel only. Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask how much it costs. It is perhaps not so expensive.

  • Satellite A300D - fan turns very hard and the laptop gets very hot

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as what to do with the overheating problem that I currently have with my A300D. I had the laptop for less than a year, it is still under warranty but I don't know where to go or what to do to fix it.

The problem: about two months ago, I noticed the fan turns very hard and also the laptop gets very hot. Now it runs so hot the laptop shuts down completely. The heat being driven out of the laptop is so hot! burn your my infact.

Anyone has any advice they could offer me.

    Thank you

    Hi James

You wrote that you have the laptop less than a year, so my question is this is already cleaned it?
The laptop needs to be cleaned every 3-4 months and I do this every 3 months. Whenever I do I m wondering how much dust out and after this procedure the portable is a lot cooler.

  • iMac getting very hot upstairs

    Hi all

My iMac 27 "mid-2011, processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 20 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory gets very hot at the top.

Ive tried the latest version of fan control MSC but who never opens a reason any?

Anyone who could help I would be very grateful. Probably just me worrying a lot.

    Thanks to all in advance

Without the specifics of the temperature, it is impossible to tell if you have a problem. This vintage iMac have the exhaust port in the upper left corner, so it's natural for them to run hot. Unless you are having problems removing the fan control software that can cause more damage than good if not used properly.

  • Satellite A500-1 - stops when I play games

    Hello!

I'm having some serious heat and fan with my Toshiba laptop problems. First data:
The laptop is on and a half a year old. His turning point under Windows 7 64-bit. I cleaned it about 2 days ago and many times before (dust in the fan cooling etc..). Toshiba drivers are up-to-date and I already use a cooling block.

When I play games sometimes, my laptop suddenly stops immediately, due to overheating problems. The strange thing is that, when this happens, the fan is not nearly at maximum speed. When I restart the computer after such a judgment, the fan fire suddenly at maximum speed, until the laptop even once cooled.

I started watching my CPU and GPU, and my fan speed temperatures while playing games, and I recognized, that the temperatures increase normally, but most of the time the fan remains at its current speed. Even if Toshiba PC Health Monitor shows, that the fan speed goes from 40% to 90% the fan is actually at a low speed.

From time to time it happens that the fan suddenly triggers her speed, but it lowers again after 1 or 2 minutes, while the indicated fan speed remains constantly at 90%. Somehow, I'd understand if the laptop would be closed despite the entirely fan running, but insufficient fan controlling? Come on Toshiba.

In addition this problem worsens every day. Anyone who has any suggestions to solve this problem?

    Greetings
    Thomas?

    Hey Buddy,

Interesting story, but how do I clean the fan exactly? Did you use a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans?
Another reason could be the display driver itself. As you can see in other threads if you are using a Toshiba display driver they might cause of overheating because they don t have a protection against overheating and other thermal management. So it is important to use only Toshiba display drivers.

What version of BIOS you have installed right now?

AFAIK BIOS version latest contains another management fan so I'll try to update. You can download the latest version here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads

In general the fan will be controlled automatically and you can t he control you. Just make sure you use power plan to high performance for the games.

  • Satellite M60 freezes when I play games

    Hello

    I bought a satellite M60, since 6 months ago.
Somethimes when I played a game (Diablo II: LOD) then the phone freeze after 1.5 h.
But only when I play games.

    Please help me.

(Sorry my engl. is not so good because German Ia´m)

    Hello

To me, this looks like an overheating problem.
It s a fact while playing the games the CPU and any other devices works with maximum performance. In this case all devices produce heat much and the temperature rises.
If the cooling modules not run successfully if it possible of s the device freezes or stopped without any warnings.
In my opinion, you should check the fans and try to clean it with a vacuum cleaner.

  • Satellite L300: problems trying to get the CD player work

Currently, I have a Satellite L300 unit and have problems trying to get my CD drive work.

Recently, I deleted the cd player, completely by chance instead of a printer.
Now it won't reinstall and no update driver makes no difference.
    Anyone have any ideas?

First of all, try to restore Windows back to a Restore Point prior to a date before the problem occurred. System Restore is in the start menu-> programs-> Accessories-> system tools

Then try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry, and then restart. Windows should find the CD Player automatically, unless the registry has been messed up.

When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.

    (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
    2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    (4) restart.

If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).
