Satellite L300 - product recovery disk hangs on step 2 of the installation program

The product recovery disk will not work, it hangs on step 2 of the installation program.

Help appreciated

Hello

Do you mean you cannot create the recovery disk or do you mean that you cannot complete the installation of recovery procedure?

If you can not finish to create the recovery disk, then you must test different drives from different manufacturers. In most cases, this helps

I m with Verbatim DVD-R

    Hello

because my laptop (Satellite P200 - I bought in December 2007) does not work more properly - and when, after a lot of cleaning it still wasn't working properly - I decided to start from the beginning and restore the operating system with 2 product recovery cd / dvd.

Recovery disk 1/2 worked well - Windows Vista Home Premium product is loaded again on my computer.

But what abot * Disck2/2 product recovery? *
At one point, the recovery program calls for a 'supplement' but when I put in the product recovery disc 2/2 at this time, that the program does not recognize the disc. During the rest of the recovery program the program didn't ask for Product Recovery Disk 2/2, so the content of this CD-ROM/dvd now is not loaded on my laptop.

    Someone had this problem too?
What do you have on this?
Is this a problem for not loading the content of the product recovery disc 2/2 (I can go without it?)?

Thanks in advance for any response!

    Hello

    > Products 1/2 worked well - Windows Vista Home Premium recovery disc is loaded again on my computer.

I put t know which modules the tool called for, but AFAIK the Toshiba image contains the operating system Vista, Toshiba drivers and additional software.
So if you've recovered the laptop using the recovery disk Toshiba 1 then the laptop must be set to the SAME State as at the first day of the purchase.

PS: what files you can find on the second disk?

  • Satellite L300-217 - recovery disk cannot complete installation

Blue screen appeared after having a few problems. I tried to reload the factory settings that did not work, so I ordered the Toshiba recovery media. After following the instructions that it seemed finally said to wait while windows was installed, after a few minutes this appaears:
"Windows can complete the installation. Restart the installation '

I tried this 6 or 7 times now and I do not get the case. I would be really grateful for assistance if possble.

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Before you start a lengthy discussion, can you install Windows from a normal disk of Microsoft? Just to test if it s a bad hardware work or not.

    See you soon

  • Satellite L300-215 - recovery disk could not be installed on this hardware

Hi, after running fine for several months I stopped my laptop recently and when I went to start upward again it tells me that there is an error with Windows and was to be the center of repair.

After four hours of waiting and get no - where I decided to use the recovery discs, I had the last time I sent him away. After installing all the necessary components it then tells me it was installing Windows. After doing this for ten minutes, I got a pop up block telling me that "Windows cannot be installed on this material. After it closes and I restarted, he told me the same message and suggest I reinstall so I tried the process and it ended in the same result.

    What is the problem?

    Hello

I m wondering... I never heard of such an issue.
If I understand you correctly, you have received the Toshiba recovery disks or have you created yourself?

Maybe the recovery discs are not designed for this type of laptop
If you can test it with a disc of Microsoft you should do. Maybe it will work.

In addition, it would be interesting to know if the motherboard of your laptop was exchanged prior. Theoretically, this could happen missing DMI information. In this case an authorized service provider can help you. :)

    Hello

At first, I can say that this recovery disk cannot be used for repairs. You can only use it for the new operating system installation.
Behavior described is certainly not OK and you should be able to see the menu with the language options listed.

    What you can do?
I'm scared of m not big thing. BIOS setting to default and try several times to see if you're lucky and the installation of recovery will be properly implemented.
For testing purposes, you can try to get the Microsoft installation disc and see if the installation of the operating system starts correctly.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - recovery disk will reinstall Windows OS on the new HARD drive

Hard drive of my Satellite Pro A300 failed. It has now been replaced. I ordered a recovery disk.
This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?

Also, I get this message "BOOTMGR MISSING". The recovery disc will fix this problem too?
    Thanks in advance!

    > I ordered a recovery disk. This will allow me to reinstall Windows Vista OS that is installed initially?
    Yes. Without a doubt.

New HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?
    If so avoid any problem.

Moreover, A300 works perfectly and much better with Win7 32 bit.

  • Satellite L300 - product key Windows 7 required

Hello. I bought my Toshiba Satellite L300 in 2011 and it came with windows vista preinstalled. Some time later, we learned that Toshiba gave a free upgrade to windows 7. I got the install disks and install windows7. I had zero problems with my machine since and have been a very happy customer - until very recently.

I emptied my trash recently and for some reason, there were a few critics files in there, so now, my machine does not start. I don't know how they got there because they were in the trash administrator and I always use a subordinate user account - for security reasons.

Long story short, I tried to start my computer using the windows 7 installation disc which worked perfectly until I had to enter the product key. Unfortunately, the product key on the label of my laptop is for windows vista so I thought that it is not valid. I wonder if I can recover my product key of windows 7 from anywhere? Toshiba would have a record of what they could send me? I was informed by microsoft that I get from Toshiba.

To complicate things, I bought the laptop in Ireland, but now lives in South Korea, so I can't at home get the product key.

I have the Toshiba DVD upgrade, the product key would be there?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Toshiba does not provide a unique product for the Windows system keys.
Toshiba offers own recovery disks / averages in order to recover the laptop back to factory settings.

Windows system which is part of the image of Toshiba is already enabled and does not require the additional serial key.

  • Satellite P10 - query recovery disk

Hi, can someone tell me this:

Fact for the P10 product recovery CD consists of a 1/2 and 2/2, i.e., two disc more tools and utilities cd rom or just a disk 2/2?
My 2/2 product recovery disk is not working so not sure if there is a 1/2 drive as well or is the drive is faulty.

    Hello

Satellite P10 is pretty old model of laptop, but if I'm well remember that it comes with track records:
1/2 and 2/2 recovery media (at this time Toshiba didn't offered recovery DVD)
    Tools & Utilities CD
    Additional software CD

    That's all I know!
    Missing some of them?

  • Re: Can I use the other Satellite U400 series recovery disk

I have Toshiba Satellite U400 121. My recovery disk does not work may be due the scratches that I see in it. I took the laptop to the Toshiba Center service and I got a negative support of them. They said, they can't put the Windows Vista because the recovery disk is not there, and they have put Windows XP inside and handed to me.
later I got to know that Windows Xp is not Geninue one. :|

I can still see one of the Partition 'D:' with folder HDDRecovery inside.

So can I use Recovery Disk of all PC model Toshiba laptop other than the Toshiba Satellite U400 121 recovery disk.

In fact, I tried with the other model recovery disk, that at boot with this disk, Recovery Wizard starts up, but since I'm not sure about this one I stopped there and brought out.

Please one of you let me know if you have valuable contributions on this.

    suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I don't know Mr. which series Satellite U400-121, it is, but you must use the recovery disc designed specifically for this series of laptop!

Another recovery disc cannot be used because the drivers and tools that have been implemented in the image of Toshiba are not designed for this series of laptop!

By the way; You can order the CD from recovery from here:

    Hey guys

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L305D half a month ago and now my computer works do not.
So I m thinking about restoring my laptop when I bought it first, but you know when I bought it, it doesn t come with any disk recovery so I put t know what to do.

Is knowledge how laptop computer recovery without a disk?

I am new to this problem
So please if you know how to do
Note please the specific details to show me how to

    Thank you!

    Hello!

First of all, you should check the user manual. There you can find all the details on how to recover a Toshiba laptop.

In any case, if your laptop came without recovery disk you can create one using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That's why you need one or two DVDs and then you have factory on a DVD.
If you created the recovery disk, you can boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled, and you get back to factory settings.

But you can also recovery a Toshiba laptop without recovery disk. So go to the F8 advanced boot menu and choose fix my computer. Now, you can choose the Toshiba Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have any other questions, you can search a bit in the forum. You will find a sufficient number of threads on the recovery procedure.
In addition, you must check this document:

  • Creating a product recovery disk

    Hello all,.

I currently encounter some technical problems with my Qosmio G20 which are almost certainly related material. Before I have to send my system back to people kind of Toshiba, I want to create a full backup of my current configuration of the system, or more specifically a product custom recovery disk similar to the one provided by Toshiba.

From what I understand of your average product recovery disk, it consists of an operating system that is scratched downwards (usually Windows 95/98) and a disk/partition image (which is to restore). It seems so that it is within the reach of us ordinary people to produce a bespoke, product recovery disc is possible and if so how should we do about it? Also (as my current setup probably carries a little more "inflate" than the original default factory configuration) is it possible to create a multi-disc product recovery solution?

I look forward to any assistance provided.

    Kinder,.
    Lee Hyde.

    Hello Lee

I guess you have preinstalled many useful applications and also optimized OS preinstalled. The same situation is on my laptop Tecra and if something goes wrong (defective HARD drive or a virus) I need hours to install and configure the new OS. Because of that I created my own recovery DVDs and also my own recovery image. To do this, I bought Norton Ghost 10.0.

By using this software, I created my own recovery image and recorded on the second partition. If the BONE is infected with the virus, I am able to recovery OS and it will be as before without any CD or DVD. I browse to the saved image and after 20 minutes, things go back like before.

Of course, you can create bootable DVDs and save the image ghost on DVD. It costs a bit, but trust me it's really good investment. Of course, on the market, you can find many other similar products. Also talk with your friends and colleagues. Maybe one of them has very good experiences in this regard.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about the recovery of product multi-disc.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite Pro A10 recovery disks fail to reinstall Win XP

My A10 Pro Sat operated happily running a system dual boot (XP and Mandriva) before a failure to start a day.
I've successfully used the Toshiba recovery disks and everything was OK for a year or two before the same problem reappeared.

Now the recovery disk Nr.1does not restores the system and the laptop turns off after appearing to run normally for about 20 seconds.

Restore the MBR and fitness by using a recovery disk Win 98 could not solve the problem.

    Anyone has any ideas please?

    > Now the Nr.1does recovery disk does not restore the system and the laptop turns off after appearing to run normally for about 20 seconds.

Sorry, but this sentence confuses me. What you mean under function normally? Start your laptop computer, enter BIOS settings and leave it with that. Laptop does turns off after a short time or what?

Maybe you should explain a little better what happens when you start your laptop.

  • Satellite P10 - 504 - recovery disk will not load

Someone at - it ideas why my recovery disks won't load, all I get is a window box asking what would like to windows do you, like what you get when you insert a video or music disc, I'm sure the last time I used them only, they went directly into the recovery mode [, I had a major flaw which I managed about sort [see disappear down the page IE] but I need to start printing] Thank you

    Hello

    > all I get is a window box asking what would like to windows do you, like what you get when you insert a music disc or vid
This means you want to use the recovery disc in Windows? It will not work.

The point is that you must boot from the recovery disc rather Windows on the HARD drive so until the computer starts to go into the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive like device starting. Make sure that the recovery disk is in the drive and the recovery disk will start. Now follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Why the windows xp recovery disk hangs 90%

Setup formats to 90% and no longer is located at 90%, sometimes it says cannot read disk I just there in the mail from microsoft?

    Hi JeffPoe,

    1. Is that what you received the computer manufacturer's recovery disks?
    2. What exactly is the error message you receive?
    3. How did you start the installation? You install Windows XP on the new hard drive or a hard drive empty?

Microsoft does not manufacturer or provide recovery disks.

Recovery discs are supplied by the manufacturer of the computer.

I suggest that you check if there is no scratches on the Windows XP installation disk, you can also clean the surface of the disc with a clean dry and check if it continues the installation.
