Satellite L300 - Sleeping mode closed

I have Toshiba Satellite L300-170 which came with Vista pre-installed. I have installed XP SP3, installed the drivers, but the laptop doesn't go into sleep mode when it is closed, as it has done on Vista.
I put it on closed in Toshiba Power Saver to sleep mode, but happening in mode and then to sleep immediately wakes again closed.

Hello

Enter the BIOS settings and disable Wake-up on LAN.
I hope this will be help.

If this isn't the case, please let me know.

Stand by. When you close the lid and your computer laptop go standby mode what happens exactly?
I imagine that your laptop is in sleep mode and when you open the notebook lid should wake up as usual.

Have you tested with hibernation mode? Is there a difference?

  • Satellite C50D - A - 13N - Windows question sleep mode 8.1 alarm

    Hello

I hope someone who knows more about than me power management can help!

I bought a C50D-A-13N Satellite a few days ago and it was fine.
However, I had a problem with the mode 'sleep' a couple of times.

The laptop goes into mode 'sleep' as expected (when the lid is closed or when I press the power button). However, when I press the power button to turn it back on, it comes to life for a few seconds - the screen is on and I can move the mouse and interact with other things - but backwards past mode after a few seconds. All I can do to make it work is to close completely by holding down the power button and restarting, I REALLY hate to do.

The laptop is fully charged and plugged or unplugged happy.

Everyone knows about this problem in Windows 8.1 front?

    Thank you

  • Satellite Pro L650 doesn't get often from sleep mode

Hi, I have a Satellite Pro L650, model No.: PSK1KA-00Y01E running Windows 7 64 bit.
This laptop does not pick up often after mode "Eve".

Can anyone offer suggestions on how to fix this?

    What's happening:
When the computer sleeps, either by pressing the sleep button, or by closing the lid, this seems to work very well.
After a minute or 2, I try to get the computer goes through the lid opening, or by pressing the power button. Sometimes, it works correctly.

Most of the time the lights white led at the front displays for a few seconds and then started. Then, press us the power button and, often, the computer starts and says that Windows has been shut down incorrectly and then completely restarts for a new session.

Sometimes the computer does not start, and it must cut off the power, then press the power button, which then crosses a full restart of the computer for a new session.

A few weeks ago, we installed the latest version of the bios (2.20), and the problem persists.
Is it a driver problem or a hardware problem?
If it is a driver problem, what drivers should I try to install?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > After a minute or 2, I try to get the computer goes through the lid opening, or by pressing the power button. Sometimes, it works correctly.
This means that this problem is not always, but sometimes only and it of not possible to replicate this.
In this case is not easy to find a good solution for this

    > We have installed the latest version of the bios (2.20) a few weeks ago, and the problem persists.
    > Is it a driver problem or a hardware problem?
In my opinion, it could be a software problem. I mean that the problem could be related to corrupt the OS Win. Maybe the registry is confused upward. Usually, if the laptop is in hibernation / sleep mode, by pressing power button should the reactivation of the system in this mode and not shut down the laptop.
So maybe this is s question OS

If I understand your message, you have just updated the BIOS but didn't try the recovery procedure. Well well, for checking if the problem hardware or software s, you should get the phone to the factory settings.

    Sorry for my bad English.

    Hey Buddy,

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba or did you install your own version of it?

It would be interesting to know what happens if you press the key combination FN + F3 to standby mode or if you choose waiting for the start menu.
    You can check this please?

Otherwise, you should try to load the default settings in the BIOS.

    Hello!

I have a Satellite L300 too but I can t view such a question because I often use the Hibernate and the day before.

In any case, I think you should try to install the latest driver from the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

But before installing the new version, you must delete the old first and then reboot the laptop. After that, you can install the latest version.
And if it doesn't work, you must update the BIOS that you can find on the Toshiba site too.

  • Satellite Pro T130 - problems in sleep mode after you install the update wireless

After installing the 3G modem & updates on day of Wireless manager from 29 September, my laptop began to have trouble waking sleep mode. Most of the time I had to hard stop. I solved currently the changing options issued for the "sleep mode" in the Panel, for the most part by turning off the advanced features (hybrid sleep, sleep, sleep network adapters usb). However, I want to solve the problem no doubt, as the current options require more time to enter the mode 'sleep'.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro T130 running under Windows 7 64-bit.

    Please help us :-)

You have installed the updates recommended by Tempro?
You can send us you have installed versions?

  • Satellite P30 Pro: Will not properly sleep mode

    Hello

I do not normally use the standby feature, but it hibernates.
Recently, I started using it, so I keep the supply charge of the power supply of the wireless mouse.
Unfortunately, he's not exactly going in standby mode it used to - I close the lid and I can hear the fan turns off after a few seconds (about 20) standby red LED flashes and then they come back after 5/10 seconds and stays on.

The standby light goes green on and in practice, it is, switches the screen off the power and the ADSL connection - that's all.
I did close the cover of the last night and found this morning with 3 green LEDs on the fans running!

    Any help?
Please note that the settings are correct - I just checked and it is set to go into sleep mode by closing the lid.

PS: Lately, I have day a few drivers from the Web from Toshiba site (can't remember which)

    Hello

If I understand you right, the laptop is on standby and it s is always connected to the local network.

Well, maybe there is a wake-up on LAN enabled mode who wakes the machine automatically to standby mode.

Try to access the BIOS and LAN / WLan, settings on the card and if necessary to disable this option.

  • Satellite L300-1FS - Wireless reconnect after closing the lid

    Hello

My 2 month old son Toshiba laptop works very well in many ways, but an annoying problem, is that if we close the lid when you open it again it doesn't re connect to our router. If I click on the network connection, it just says: there is no everything!

Sometimes the switching market re wireless switch will connect there, but more often than not, it's a reboot, which is annoying.

Proves that the wireless card works but it would be nice to not have him harass me every time it does not connect.

    All ideas welcome.

    Hello

First a question: what exactly happens if you close the lid?
This laptop stops, or goes to stand-by or extended sleep?

However, in your case, I would try to update the driver WLAN and the BIOS. Check the Toshiba website for updates:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

It would be interesting to know what operating system you have and if you are running the factory settings or you have installed another OS?

A friend told Satellite L300 and he is very satisfied and can t notice any problem. :)

  • Satellite M40-110: WLan is not working properly after sleep mode

Hello, I have a M40-110. I have some problems with my wireless adapter. After I closed the screen (bed) and the computer goes into sleep mode, I open the computer screen becomes active, but this time the wireless adapter is not working properly and I can't connect to Internet with my wireless adapter. Sometimes, it seems that the wireless adapter has established a connection, but I can't send and receive data from the Internet. Sometimes after this case, the wireless adapter becomes invalid.

My Service offered to enable the bios wake-up-on-lan option. After doing this, the Internet worked properly.
But I am wary about this option:

    (1) not allowing this option cause draining my battery quickly?
    (2) this option doesn't make that hides my hardware failure (wireless card) and it is really necessary to solve this problem?

    Thank you

  • Cannot start by Satellite A10-S703 from sleep mode

My boss gave me a Satellite A10-S703 running windows XP. I was tooling autour, when suddenly the computer is in sleep mode (LED flashes orange). I tried pressing the power button, but nothing happens. What should I do? I am seriously at the end of the roll and will be in hot water if I can't get the thing started. Help, please.

    Hello

It of very strange that the laptop switches mode standby during the work on this.
Anyway, you can try this way:
Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery from the laptop and wait several times. It's not easy to tell how long to wait but wait 10-15 minutes

Replace the battery in the notebook, and then connect the power adapter. Try turning on the laptop computer.

To my knowledge, this is a common procedure if such question comes on the laptop.

  • Satellite L300-29U - Vista crashes, even in safe mode

Hi, I really hope there is someone out there who can help me, my laptop does not work (properly) more, and I don't know what is the cause.

    * The short version: *.

Two days ago my computer froze all of a sudden for no apparent reason. It did not (without Ctrl-Alt-Del, etc), I could only move the pointer. Since then, has happened repeatedly, even in safe mode. A potential clue: runs chkdsk c: \r \f results in a blue screen.

    * Details: *.

I have a Satellite L300-29U (about 3.5 years) with Windows Vista.
Two days ago the computer is not responding, after running normally for a few hours. I had not installed a new hardware or software. Even the clock had stopped. Only the pointer could be moved, but clicking on had no effect, or no has Ctrl-Alt-Delete. I stopped him via the power button. It restarted normally, I opened it then Firefox, but shortly after the same problem has emerged.
I selected the Mode without fail to start and then let my antivirus (Avira) program a complete check of the system. The computer froze again after about an hour and 30% in the analysis. (Curiously, the timer showing how much time had passed since the beginning of the analysis was still running, but had stopped the clock of the computer.)
Later, I tried another full analysis and again once it froze. Before that, I ran a few quick scan negative that came.

In general, I find that Windows starts fine, but in normal mode it freezes pretty quickly when I try to do something. In safe mode, it freezes more quickly, but it's still sometimes.

I also tried the "repair your computer" option at startup.
    -System Restore does not help
-Memory Diagnostic is not a problem

Searching online, I found suggestions for select command prompt and try to chkdsk. My conclusions:
-chkdsk c: /f gives no indication of errors. The only thing that might be unusual is the following message at the end (translated from Dutch): "cannot transfer the log to the event log messages. Status 50. »
-chkdsk c: /r /f results in a blue screen, each time to the same point in the process, namely, the 4th stage (verification of the data of the file), after having transformed the 133 634 files. The blue screen that appears shows the following:

    -----
    QUOTE
A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    (...)
    Technical information: * STOP: 0 x 00008086 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    WORDS
    -----

    * Things I have NOT tried (again): *.

-Execution of TOSHIBA hard drive recovery
    -Formatting the hard drive

Why not try these again is that I still have a glimmer of hope that he might be up to a corrupt file, and I don't want to use a gun if it turns out to be a mosquito.

I tried to look online for questions asked by people with problems and similar symptoms, but I find not only the case with some similarities, not exactly the same thing.

Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    > Two days my computer froze all of a sudden for no apparent reason
Above all it s sign parts hardware problem as a module of memory or the motherboard can cause this.

    > Since it happened repeatedly, even in safe mode. A potential clue: runs chkdsk c: \r \f results in a blue screen.

The command chkdsk access and HARD drive tests so it could also be that the HARD drive is the troublemaker.

From my point of view, you should start the recovery and should set the device to the factory settings.
If the device would not work even after you have used the factory condition, I guess that one of the mentioned parts malfunctions.

  • Satellite U300 falls down and cannot wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

I got a Satellite U300 a few days and I get in trouble, when the laptop goes into sleep mode.
The thing is that when he goes to sleep, the screen turns off but the light stays on (blue), instead of flashing with an orange color.

It is not possible to wake the portable computer, and the only solution is to restart the computer.

I tried the different possibilities to enter sleep mode, and I get the problem mainly when the computer is in high-performance Vista and when you press the stop button in the quick menu.

I know Vista gives a certain a lot of problems, but I didn't know anyone here who face the same problem.
Should I send the laptop back to technical support?

    Thanks in advance,

I had the opportunity to work a little with several laptops from Toshiba, and one of them was Satellite U300. After a brief check of the basic functions for laptop I can say with certainty that switch between mode and standby/hibernation mode work well and I didn't notice any problems.

I really don't understand what is wrong with that, but please do:
-If you want to switch to standby mode, choose option using the button START.
-Wait a bit and I hope after a few seconds, the laptop will change automatically in standby mode (blinking amber LED)
    -Close the cover
-Wait a moment opened the lid and press the power button
I really hope that your laptop will start correctly and you will be able to use the OS again.

    Good bye
