Satellite L300D - 12L: Error: MISSING BOOTMGR + HDD partition 2 corrupted

Hello

I recently bought my L300D - 12 laptop computer in a store Staples close to me (for use at the University). After about 4 months of use, the system seems slow, and yesterday, my laptop started giving me the BSOD messages whenever I tried to boot up the laptop and have to restart.
I tried to use the safe mode to move all my files on a desktop computer and that seemed to work well sometimes even safemode could not start with a BSOD with [memory management error] coming and sometimes IQRL_Less or equal...
I can also have accidentally deleted partition HDD 2... but I thought that it would be OK, because I had created a recovery disk already in the days following the purchase, and it works.

So my problem is this, my laptop is now free of my files as I have carefully their saved with the storage devices removable mass via a defective safe mode; I have used the disk recovery... but clarification, I think I should list step by step what happens when I use the disk...

(1) "Windows is loading files" (a black screen with a white bar at the bottom)
Microsoft green loading bar 2)
(3) utility recovery gray and white décor with "Recovery Utility" box telling me to choose a language (I choose English)
(4)' Please select the item you want to install and click on [{Next >}.] Current recovery drive size is: 76GB (I choose then with "English (Windows Vista)" highlighted)
(5)' WARNING: your hard drive will be completely erased. Do you want to continue?' (I click 'OK')
(6) command prompt appears with the following...

Based on my case above... do you think that the error is by damage or internal memory corruption?
Is the recovery disk I can buy different from the one I created?

WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON WITH MY LAPTOP AND HOW DO I FIX THIS!

Hello

This error is interesting:
> ERROR: no BCD on two or a partition!
> Press any key to continue

The BCd is the Vista bootloader which is necessary to load and start the Vista operating system.
It seems that it is not found and so Vista will not start.

The next error message saying: BOOTMGR is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart would confirm my hypothesis.

You said that your system slows down considerably.

Possibly the HARD drive is faulty. I have only this one explanation.
In your case, the warranty is valid, and I think you should ask the ASP in your country for assistance guys could check the HARD disk and other parts and could replace it.

Good bye

Hi, my Satellite L300D - 12L does not work.

I was on windows and it came with a blue screen with white writing on it. I didn't see what he said.
It turned off my laptop. Then it restarted. He got to the screen saying: start the system restart and start windows normally.

I did the repair of launch option. He said windows loads the files then pulls up to the Microsoft loading bar then the screen turns white for centuries, just with the arrow cursor. I tried to leave two repair a normal but get the same.

What can I do? Any ideas?

Looks like Windows is damaged. I would run Recovery by pressing zero during power on. Backup your data first, because the rags for HARD drive recovery.

Also check the RAM. www.memtest.org is a bootable CD or a FD

  • Satellite L300D - Webcam error messages

I am running Vista 32 bit on a Satellite L300D.

I have recurring problems with built in webcam Chicony. Basically, frequently, it stops working (I only use it with Skype), me gives error messages but more commonly "cannot start video. Try closing other programs that may use your webcam... ». A reboot of my laptop it fixes usually but only temporarily.
I downloaded the drivers and the software Camera Utility on the Toshiba site, but it has not solved the problem.

Anyone out there that can suggest a solution, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hey,.

What the webcam driver you have installed, and you removed the old one? You must remove the old driver of the webcam first before installing a newer version. Before installing a newer driver also make sure that all the old driver registry keys are deleted. Therefore, you can use a registry cleaner like CCleaner.

Compare the driver webcam with a newer version of other laptops. Like Akuma written you can download it from a laptop model more recent and this driver should also work on your model correctly.

Power calibration error especially if the laser lens cannot calibrate (moving) in the right position and can not handle the inserted disc.

In most cases, the STRANGE must be replaced. :(

I tried to find a pilot outreach toshiba firmware for my windows by Satellite L300D - 12 L 8.1 Pro running. Anyone can find on for me. The toshiba website has not one as my laptop is not officially compatible with windows 8.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I assume that your old laptop Satellite is not supported for Win8 or Win8.1.
More info on what you can read on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/
Please check the compatibility of Toshiba matrix. Here you can find out whether your model is supported.

    Hello

Looks like something's happened on your HARD drive. Its defective, or maybe just the system partition is possibly corrupt.
Well, in the best case, you will need to reinstall the system.

If you n t have the recovery disc, you can order it here:

  • Satellite Pro A300-1OP - Missing FEPs disk partition E:\

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1OP with Windows Vista.

The hard disk is partitioned into C:\ and E:\, each about 75 GB with a hidden options of system recovery partition. E: / shows that about 5MB, left free while C:\ shows 28GB. However, the list of files/folders to E: / shows a total of about only 10 GB. I put the hidden files & folders to be displayed in the Control Panel/appearance but no more are listed to explain the "disappeared" 65GB. I also have a warning window telling me to free up space in E:\ drive to appear.

What is the problem and how to fix it? I run Disk Cleanup, but get more no free space.

I am quite often here on this forum and I always wonder what kind of problems people have with their laptops.
If you created the recovery DVDs move all the files to the C partition and start the computer management > disk management. Deleting a volume E second partition). After having this recreate and do the full format.

It will be interesting to know if the partition will display correctly after that. If so, move all the data back and hope that everything will be OK again.
Please note: after doing this, it may happen that you will not be able to create recovery DVD or use HARD drive recovery facility then please do this if you created DVDs.

  • Satellite L300D PSLC8E - error when trying to install Win XP

    Hello

I install XP to tryint ot on the second partition.
When I boot with XP disk in the drive it loads all the files, but when Setup starts Windows I just get a stop error message.

    Can anyone help with this?

Have you installed or included the SATA driver?
The new laptops are equipped with a SATA controller and this is why you would need to include the SATA drivers that would recognize the HARD drive correctly. In addition the SP2 should be included in Win XP

  • Satellite T110-11U - where to find HDD partition recovery key?

    Hello (again)

I'm trying to find the keys to recovery partition on hard drive if any knows them I would be grateful

    regards Matt
    Thanks for your help

    Hey Buddy,

The keys on which you mean exactly? That is not quite clear.

In addition, the laptop doesn t have a recovery partition. If you mean the Windows RE partition that is hidden, that s not a feature of Toshiba. It s a Windows feature and has nothing to do with Toshiba.

HDDrecovery files are stored on a second partition on the HARD drive. You can start this feature if you go into the advanced boot menu and select Repair my computer. The image of the factory will be loaded and installed.

You will find a serial number for Windows on a sticker on the underside of the laptop. It is up to the version preinstalled Windows t can be used with normal Windows disks.

  • Problem of recovery Satellite L300D - 12L

    Hello

I want to restore this laptop to factory default so its how it was when I bought it at the store. I tried now pressed key 0 key while turning on and don't get all the dining options. I also tried pressing F8 during the boot and see no possibility of restoration. I did a recovery cd when I bought it first, and the recovery partition is still intact. Can someone explain what I need to do. I put the disc and rebooted from disk and it goes into a recovery utility, but the only option I see is to reinstall windows vista, this will also be resintall all other software provided with the laptop?

    Thank you very much

    > I also tried pressing F8 during the boot and don't see any possibility of restoration. When I bought it first, and the recovery partition is still intact, I did a recovery cd

If you want to use the HARD drive for the recovery procedure recovery you should press F8 immediately after that the laptop has been powered. This would allow a menu to the screen. The first option should be to fix my computer.
Choose this option. Then a new window should appear and you may find the option called Toshiba Recovery or something like that.

But if you want to use your created Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall the OS and then simply start from this disk and follow the instructions on the screen. ;)

    Welcome them
    Jeffrey

  • Satellite L300D - I can reduce the second partition?

I recently received this new laptop, and I'm happy with it.

However, I am puzzled by the partition available to it. It has a score of 74 GB (c) and a 73 GB partition (E);. C: is the partition with the operating system on and E: has 5 GB of HDDRecovery. I was wondering why this recovery partition is so great, and if it is necessary to have this great.

Should I reduce the minimum 5 GB partition or leave it as it is?

Thank you in advance to all.

    Hello!

The HARD drive on the second partition recovery folder to your laptop factory settings and so it has a capacity of 5 GB. The image in this folder contains the operating system (Vista), all the drivers and tools.
Here's how you can use this option of saving the document a Toshiba:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

So in your case I would not reduce the 5 GB partition.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300D - 12L does not start from CD/DVD drive

    Hello.

I noticed a couple of threads on L3x who sometimes won't start but have a blinking cursor.
I also have this problem with my daughter satellite.

It occurs when there is a disc in the DVD player. The PC does not start, I get a black screen with a cursor and the DVD flashes regularly as if she is trying to determine if there is a bootable disc inserted.

I tried several discs with similar results.
Everything that happens the DVDRW ejects, and I have to force a shutdown, then eject the disc immediately when I start her for it boot on Vista.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tried to boot from the recovery disk Toshiba?

Fact is if you try to install the Windows operating system on the new laptop series, you must install either the drivers SATA or you must set compatible SATA to AHCI mode in the BIOS!

That's why check first before you would contact any ASP guy to replace the STRANGE.

    See you soon

  • Re: Question of memory Satellite L300D - 12L

    Hello

I bought today the laptop above with 1 GB of memory installed, as a single unit of 1 GB. I already have 2 X 1 GB of the same variety as this laptop takes home, went up to install another unit, which gives 2 GB memory total.

The laptop does not recognize the additional memory installed unit, it does not matter which slot I put it, what unit I use, is the one that came with the machine or ones I had previously. Crucial.com scanner says that one of the slots is empty, while the system is not recognizing the extra memory.

They are the same as stated in the manual of instructions, and all have been tested on another machine, so I know they are ok, so what could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Please don t get me wrong, but these modules of memory are obviously not one that suits. If I remembered little of people here on this forum reported on the same issue. There must be a compatibility problem.

Try to get the Toshiba or Kingston modules and they will work well. In your case, you should get the 2 GB module and improve it up to 3 GB.

  • Satellite L300D - can't watch movies using a Toshiba DVD player

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L300D - 12L and the toshiba dvd player has stopped working.

The laptop is always able to recognize the dvd as the 'AutoPlay' box appears when a DVD is inserted and says ' DVD RW drive (e :)) "at the top of the follow-up to the title of the film.
I then click on 'play the DVD using a DVD TOSHIBE movie'... and nothing happens.

I tried several different DVD, which I know work in other laptops or DVD players.
I tried by following this link...

    http://www.TechSpot.com/VB/topic27616.html

and deleted the lowerfilters and upperfilters but that cause problems and I had to perform a system restore.
I'm running out of ideas and I would like to be able to watch DVD on my laptop again because I don't have a TV or a DVD player.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

It seems that the CD-DVD drive can read the disc, but it seems that the Toshiba DVD Player cannot play video files

Then maybe you should try to play the DVD using other software like Windows Media Player or VLC player download VLC player this small software and install it
Then try to play the movie

I recommend also to install the tool called DVD Player Update Check Tool that you find on the European driver Toshiba page.

With this tool, you can check your laptop, if your DVD player needs an upgrade and if so, it gives you the download link for version upgrade needed.
