Satellite L300D: changing in Vista keyboard language settings

Hello!

I bought a cell phone in Spain (Satellite L300D series) and I added to the 'language bar' option 'Portuguese' (my language).
Usually I write texts in both languages - this is why I have not removed the "Spanish" option in the "language bar".
However, the Windows Vista changing by "chance", the language of my keyboard. Let me explain:

I opened the "language bar". Then, I opened the "Configuration" > "High Key Configuration.
There is the option "access keys for input languages". It is possible to select the 'ALT', 'CAPS LOCK' and 'SHIFT' keys to change the keyboard language. But it is also possible to only select "key" - so, theoretically, any key should you press: the language of the keyboard will not change.

That's what I did - but Windows Vista is not "obey" me...
What should I do to stop this type of change?

Thank you!

Hello

OK, you use two for keyboard input languages, but you should know that when you set once there are no fix. If you use several applications at the same time for each running application, you must set the input language.

I always use a single switch to choose between languages with left Alt + shift. The other two parameters are set to NONE. So when I use some application I can always check what language is set and change it quickly using left Alt + Shift key combination.

That's all. Test it on your laptop.

    Hello!

    I have a Satellite L300D Vista HB.

It started with the machine crashing, thought it would be OK after reinstalling operating system.
But it hangs whenever he has installed updates.

    Anyone experienced the same problem?

I know, I can just ignore the updates, or choose another OS, but what I would like to know if there is a general failure with this machine and updates.
It must be some recent updates to this year, since the problem first started a few weeks ago.

    Hello

I never had problems with the Vista updates.
Sometimes I need to update the driver WLan driver sound to the latest version after Vista has received some updates, but the operating system has never crashed.
But I switched to Windows 7 and now I m using the latest Win 7 OS which is much better than Vista.

I don't know why the updates affect the mobile-specific features; m may be due to old drivers.
Maybe you should install Vista and should update the OS before installing drivers or software

  • Satellite L300D 242 how to restore factory settings

My sister has a Toshiba Satellite L300D 242, and she is very unhappy with her because she seems to have more than enough problems.

The problems, that she told me about all seem more like general maintenance would have prevented them, but I offered to files his laptop to its original specifications and she's happy with it.

I'm a bit irritating to play with things for the first time, however, and that's because I've never reformatted a before Toshiba and I worry in case there might be an unexpected stumbling block that I'd better know.

I have restored my Acer several times and it's been no problem, no problem at all. Is a Toshiba Satellite L300D 242 restoration as simple?

Can someone tell me the procedure I should follow to restore L300D 242 sister, please? I don't know if she restore disks, in case anyone asks, I have him asked and I'm waiting for a response.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi waynum,

If the original OS from Toshiba is installed you can restore the factory settings as described HARD drive recovery option here and in * user manual *:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

    > I don't know if she has any restore disks
Normally the laptop come without recovery disks, but you can create them yourself using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. Just start this preinstalled Toshiba tool and follow the instructions on the screen to create the recovery disks.

  • Satellite L300D - upgrade from Vista to Windows 7

    Hello

I have Satellite L300D and I want to improve my operating system with windows 7. There is a link given but its not working not not the link is "http://www.toshiba.eu/windows7-upgrade".

So any body can help me?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

The Web site you want to say is no longer available because there was an upgrade offers for some laptops but this offer isn't available more.

So if you want to upgrade to Windows 7, you can buy a disc of Microsoft Windows 7, then you can start with the Windows 7 upgrade.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  • Keyboard language settings

I have a desktop with a bilingual keyboard (English and French) p6745f and I really need the English. However, I have inadvertently hit a key, unknown to me which one, which applies the French keyboard, which I don't want. This prevents my ability to use keys. Questions: 1) how can I go back to English? (2) can I configure the computer so that the French keyboard is "off"?

    Thank you.

    Eenie, welcome to the forum.

What I've read, it's a combination of keys to change the language, such as ctrl + alt.  This may not work for your keyboard, but you can try other combinations.

If you can't find the combination, try Control Panel / region and language / location.  Here, you can change the country.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

    Hi mate,

Did not read the user manual? ;\
Here, you can find all information about restoring the computer to the factory settings.

It's pretty easy: it takes only the Toshiba recovery disc. This disc contains an image on the factory settings. These are the same parameters that you have started the computer the first time. Installation is easy: just boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. It only takes a few minutes after that, your computer is ready to be used again! :)

  • Keyboard does not work under Vista on Satellite L300D

    Dear readers,

I have a Satelite L300D with Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium. It is about 5 months and so far I have not had problems.

Today, I started the book and noticed that I was not able to type my password for Windows.
I thought, there must be a problem with the keyboard and restarted the laptop.
I tried to enter the Bios and I wonderd, keyboard worked as expected it. Back to Vista, the keyboard does not work yet.

I rebooted again and activated Capslock befor the Windowsstartup and looked at the LED.
Just after the appearance of the Windowslogo, Capslock off a keyboard was dead.
So I thougt it must be a driver error. I deleted the two driver files Hardware-Director told me where the drivers keyboard, rebooted twice a keyboard had returned to work, but only until the next reboot.

So I decided to make the recovery of HARD drive and reinstall Windows, thinking, this should fix the problem.

    But it's still there.

Is there someone who could help me? If this is an error of the driver, is should have disappeared when the laptop is in a State of delivery, right?

I would be very happy for any advice or help

    Greetings from Berlin

    Thomas

PS: I want to say sorry for my bad English... :-)

    Hey mate

    > It's about 5 months and until now I didn't have problems.

I wonder why this keyboard problem happened after 5 months of use?  :|
This means that this keyboard worked fine using the Vista and the Toshiba Recovery disk operating system but recently stopped working if the Microsoft OS is running.

In my eyes it s a hardware issue ok, it s really strange that you can use it in the BIOS and the Linux system. But I recommend to contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country and ask if the technician could test with the new keyboard.

I think that your warranty is valid and therefore everything must be covered by the warranty!

    Good luck

Hi, I have a Sattelite M60 & ran the Express Media Player before fully reading the manual. However, the options for change that are grayed out in the page options. Is it possible to activate these or change the setting of any other way?

Is it really a problem to the Express Media Player for US instead of the language of the UK keyboard? Using the restore CD is not an option, because I've completely implemented my system now.

I put t have a lot of experience in the Media Express drive but I guess that this setting, you can change at the beginning.
Unfortunately, in this case you need to reinstall the EMP.

  • Vista on Satellite L300D-10 a - Graphics card reset after renstallation

    This is my story.
A few weeks ago my computer went down, so I decided to reinstall Vista (Home Premium). After I did, I noticed that many things had changed. For example, my screensaver no longer works, and some programs said that they needed to support 3D wih video card. I knew I had a video card with 3d support, as these programs worked well before the renstallation.

Then I looked around on the web, and I found more messages from people having the same problem, so I looked if I had an installation disc to the last video player for my graphics card, but I have no one. So, now, I'm asking if anyone knows where I can get the latest version, so I can continue to use these programs.

    Hello

Please don't get me wrong, but the whole story is somewhat strange.
Fact is that every Toshiba laptop comes with factory State. Your computer laptop too and after the first start you got by default settings of Toshiba. What you did later, no one knows. Maybe you have installed some additional software and the third party. Who knows?

Now after the clean operating system installation you have these settings to factory again and absolutely identical State after purchase and first start. This along with the screen saver is strange, but it should work (Windows screensaver).
Configuration of the software of your laptop is not known to us and it is not easy to say what you're exactly missing.
