Satellite L350-20F - Windows Defender causes a BSOD

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this problem.

I bought this laptop in February and within 4 weeks it developed a memory problem and had to be sent back to Toshiba.
2 weeks later, the computer was returned.hen I got home I started to reinstall and restart it as a new machine and got this error message associated with Windows Defender
... * 0x800106ba *.
By phone, Toshiba engineer wiped the drive and the system was reinstalled via pre purchased the recovery disc.

The same error message returned on startup so I'm completely at a loss.
*
Help!

Thank you

Hello!

I think that the problem is not the laptop, it s Windows Defender that is causing the problem.

I searched using Google with this BSOD code and the first result is this link to the Microsoft Knowledge Base :)
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/931849

I think that this could be useful for you to solve this problem.

Good bye

    Hello

Maybe it s disc HARD issue you may try to check if the HARD drive is recognized and listed in the BIOS. In order to access the BIOS, you will need to press F2, immediately after the laptop has been turned on.

By the way; here in the forum, you can find a category that offers useful movies how to replace a HARD drive:

    Hello

I was offered a laptop replacement by my insurance, I got the Toshiba P100-160

Is this a good deal? What is the best?

    Hello

It is not easy to be realistic. If you use your laptop for the office and the typical daily activities, it's OK and I'm sure that you will be satisfied with it.

Maybe you should talk with assurance and ask if you can get the money instead of new material.
Take the money, put a bit of it, and buy the new notebook with the best material and components as best webcam, harman/kardon speakers and so on.

  • Satellite L350-24U: Windows Vista crashes after installing SP2

    Hello

I own a Satellite L350-24U laptop with Windows Vista 32. I bought in October and had to reinstal the OS twice now. Still, it crashes after installation of Service Pack 2. After you restart the system, a blue screen appears, giving the following information

    STOP: 0 X 00000024 (0 X 00190444, 0X86B9BAD0, 0XC0000102, 0X00000000)

I had to reinstall Win Vista with HDD Recovery from Toshiba (press F8, then repair etc.) and everything worked properly again.
THS time, it's more serious. Last night the system shut down whenever you use internet explore (after about 30 seconds). SP2 has not been installed, but there are so many problems, I decided to install SP2, because I hoped that the bugs I had with SP2 would be eliminated. When installing SP2, the system crashed again, and now I got the same bluescreenmessage new.

I tried to reinstall Vista, but the Toshiba HDD program starts no more: it is said: the installed program is not working (or something similar) - please click on ok to close.

I did not burn the cd of recovery yet, so I don't know what more can be done and online support is closed today.
I'd really be very happy for any help
    Thank you

    Hello

I searched a bit on the Microsoft Web site and on the blue screen, I created this article:
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-GB/library/ms793935.aspx

So I think that the reason for the BSOD is a corrupted file system or a defective HARD drive. You should check the drive using the Drive Fitness Test for example.

I put t understand why you didn't burn the disc of recovery yet. Why you didn t read the manual at first?
Now, you have only one option to get a new recovery disk: Please order a new Toshiba directly: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

It is not caused by the speakers, but comes from within the body of the laptop.

    Hi Renate_1
try turning off the microphone and speakers
If the sound is still audible, this could be a coil broken on the motherboard.
This must be repaired way new mainboard.

  • Question - loop on Satellite L350-170 Windows error recovery

Toshiba Satellite L350-170 - Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.00 GHz, 2 GB, 250 GB, 17 "TFT, DVDSM, VHP

My wife bought three weeks ago. Use of the lamp. Everything works fine, until a dialogue of "Startup Repair" appeared. Since then, the machine starts.

    Machine goes into "Windows Error Recovery" immediately after the Toshiba start screen and has the following options;
    (1) run the Startup Repair tool
    (2) start Windows normally

Option 2 results in a blank screen and finally goes back to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".

    Option 1 has the reboot dialog box;

"Your computer was unable to start.
Startup Repair is checking your system for problems... »

At this point, the Toshiba laptop enters an endless loop.

So what I do now? There is no disc came with the laptop, so I can't reinstall the operating system. The dealer (Comet) is less useful and don't know no refund or Exchange for a defective product.

    Can someone please!

    Try this:

Press F8 immediately after that the laptop has been turned on.
Then choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then a new window should open and there you can choose the option called Toshiba recovery.

Please note then this procedure would start the Toshiba HDD recovery and the BONE to relocate again. This would be to format the whole HARD drive and set the OS to the factory settings.

In my eyes, you can use this procedure for recovery of HARD drive, or you can try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc.
Both lead to the same results

  • Re: Satellite P200 - FN The keys causes a BSOD

    Hello
My Satellite works on Vista 32-bit, when I hit the FN key, a blue screen appears.

All keys are key work fine exept the button FN.
The BIOS and vista are updated?

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    BSOD code, you get exactly?

I think that the problem is related to a software problem. In your case, I would try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This tool contains the drivers for the FN keys. You can download the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before installing new VAP the former first deletion, restart the laptop and install the new version.

The OS is Vista Home Premium with all updates installed. I also note that the same problem occurs in safe mode.

You write about driver update or perhaps update BIOS?
Your story is not so clear what exactly happened.

  • Satellite L350 - 172 (PSLD8E) - drivers and tools for Windows 7

    Hi all

After 3 years using this laptop with Windows XP, I decided to install Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. It was very easy and because of 3 GB of RAM it works fast (faster than XP).

Download area of Toshiba in the web offer of many drivers and utlities for Windows 7 and this laptop but what did this sowftware is not mentioned:
    Storage Manager?
    TEMPRO?
    Tiles for Mobility Center?
    Value Added Package?
    PlayReady PC Runtime?
    ReelTime?
    ServiceStation?

Does anyone have a description or an idea?

  • Camera does not work on my Satelite L350-20F

Can someone help me get the Satellite L350-20F camera work?

I ve just bought Kijiji laptop fully functional outside of the built-in camera. It is not in the Device Manager as there is no imaging device in the list or the yellow marks. It does not show on find or search for new hardware and all the drivers on the Toshiba site does not work. It was windows visit here originally, I think, but I like about windows Vista.

Can anyone help with maybe what the camera driver, I need to install.

    Thank you

Even if the software/driver webcam would be missing, you should find an unknown device in Device Manager.

But if the unknown device is not visible in the Device Manager list, then this means that the device was not recognized by the system and especially isn't a flaw operating problem but hardware driver. But it is also possible that the webcam is not enabled in the BIOS.

In many cases the BIOS supports this webcam (option switch) and in my opinion, you should check if you can find this setting in the BIOS.
If it is not available in the BIOS, then a hardware failure is possible.

As I remember, the webcam module is connected to the USB controller on the motherboard. It is possible that the webcam is not connected to the motherboard had to lose the connection... it would be one of the possible reasons for webcam not detected.

By the way: the driver/software of the webcam can be downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page.

  • Satellite L350 and Intel display drivers

    Hello.

I noticed that Intel display drivers are newer than the ones I got from here. Yet when I try to install those it tells me that those who have not been validated for my hardware. Is it possible to get the Intel drivers on my system?

    It's a Satellite L350 Vistar Windows (32 bit)

    Welcome them
    Stefan

    Hello

The Intel page reader may be installed via the Device Manager.
You need a zip driver package that contains the dll and ini files.
You can unzip the package on the desktop and after than that, go into Device Manager and update the driver using the installation procedure advanced which allows to point to the driver unpacked on the office package.

    It will work
