Satellite L350 - Question about recovery disc creation

Help, please.

I read in the manual for my new lap top before setting up and feel rather nervous.

The seller said that he had to open automatically when I start it, and all I had to do to install the printer and my word m/s (for example) program and I would be in place and running.

But it seems that I should first do some recovery disks.
How many disks is necessary? DVD no doubt - or D/L.?
The recovery discs are possible after other programs installed?

Secondly, he mentioned the manual online. Where can I find it?
I have a scanner and a Seagate external hard drive, but these can be added later.
I use the laptop as a desktop replacement for my old Mesh PC of five years.

Thank you for your help.

Hello

Yes, it is very important to create the recovery disk before you change anything on your HARD drive laptops.
When you have completed the installation of Vista, you must start the application called recovery Toshiba disc Creator.
This application will help you create the recovery disk.

As I m not wrong not you would need a DVD. I recommend using a DVD-R.

Notes; in some cases, you might get an error burning the recovery DVDs. This may happen because not all drives are fully compatible. So if you get this error please check different DVD from different manufacturers

Good bye

    @lauriej

I'm sorry that you run also in this issue of recovery disc creation. You can also contact HP Technical Support at the 800.474.6836 to let them know that you have a problem, create the discs. As in the case of the CW4ZNS, the retailer may have created the disk but failed to give them.

You can also create your own disc of Windows 8, however. Perhaps this is a faster option for you.

Download the ISO of Windows 8 64-bit here

ImgBurnto burn the ISO to a disc.

If you need to use the drive, you will have to put the disc in, reboot and press F9 to the power of. Select your CD drive and start the installation. It will ask you the product key, and you can find that on the label of Microsft on the sides or the back of your computer. Once installation is complete, you will need to go to Your HP driver Page to download your drivers and software.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions on this

    Hi Snen,

It would be interesting to know what CD/DVD drive you have. Maybe you should try to update the firmware of the drive. For some readers of Toshiba and Pioneer, the site shows an update of the firmware. It s worth a try!

  • Questions about the discs of recovery and partitioning Satellite A200-QH0

I bought a model of Satellite A200-QH0 in Australia and due to the lack of forums in our country, I would like to ask a few questions here if that's ok.

The book contains 3 partitions - partition "EISA Configuration" of 1.6 GB, the great partition of the BONE and the recovery partition. So I did the recovery DVD? s using the Recovery Disc Creator tool, as we are not provided with a real disk. But I would like to know what will make these records? My questions:

    1. they really will return that disc hard back to the _exactly_ how he was including the partition layout and software pre-installed?
2 will be the recovery DVD works even if the disk has been repartioned? I would like to divide the system partition to give space for the files of data etc. But this extra partition will stop the recovery procedure works correctly?

Please understand that I'm not interested in reformatting the entire disk. I want to just split the partition from the OS. But in case I need to replace the disk in the future or something, I would like to know how to close to 'original', these disks will make me, no matter what I do on the disc?

    Thank you
    Dave

    Hello

I m not 100% sure how recovery works on the Australian laptops computers Toshiba, but I presume that the restore CD contains the image of Toshiba with the operating system Windows, drivers, tools and utilities.
I think that if you want to use the recovery CD then the whole HARD drive will be formatted and all partitions will be erased.

I think that the recovery partition is not created using the recovery CD because the CD of restoration has already been created for the recovery partition is no longer necessary

    Hello

    You have 2 options:

    1. standard mode: recover the entire hard drive: all data will be lost.
2 expert mode: retrieve only the partition with windows on it: only data from this partition will be lost.

If you perform a new installation, please use the expert mode and you'll be able to create two partitions. On the first, you need to install OS and the second that allows you to save all your data.

  • Satellite P200D-139 - Question about recovery disk

My father has a Toshiba Satellite P200D-139 and we lost the recovery for laptop disk and the recovery HARD drive image also disappeared.

So I ordered a new pack of Toshiba and I was just wondering if I had to put a new HARD drive in the laptop (a bigger HARD drive) the recovery pack contains Windows Vista to put it back on the hard drive?

I once had an old Windows XP on Toshiba Satellite 1900 and packed on that hard drive if I bought a new disc and ran the recovery disk and it put Windows back on so I hope that this pack for this laptop does the same.

    Hey,.

Is that the Toshiba recovery disc can restore the factory settings every time and on each HARD drive. If you replace a new s than what it still possible to restore the factory settings on the same HARD drive, nothing is installed on the HARD drive. HARD drive recovery files are not necessary for the recovery disk because the recovery itself contains these files.

So replace with a bigger HARD drive and boot from the recovery disc. You come out of the box settings and the computer will be ready to use after this :)

  • Re: Satellite P200 - question about the recovery part

I have a Satellite P200 and a recovery disk. I don't want to use this as it clears my disk clean C: and E: which has all my data on it.

Is there a restore button to factory settings which affects the C: drive and let E: in tact? I thought I read somewhere that there was.

    Hello

If you have the Satellite P200, something like this is not possible. Unfortunately, before the recovery procedure starts the disk HARD integer will be deleted (formatted). Before you begin recovery procedure back up all your important data to an external device, or burn it to DVD-R/RW support.

Y at - there someone who can tell me why I had two recovery disks?

On disk, it is my Vista recovery with all the drivers, after the installation of the system do not ask the second disc. Everything works fine.

I just want to know where the second disc is for. It s a Satellite L350-144

I think that on the other recovery disk there are some applications or other OS (operating system).

Very simple: insert the CD and look at what is on it.

Tell me what do you see on the CD, I'm interested in.

  • Re: Satellite A300 - error creating recovery disc

I'm not really providing any solution, but is facing a similar problem with my laptop Satellite A300-1EI, bought in Dubai, UNITED Arab Emirates. I tried to make records of recovery through Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. However, each time, I got an error message. I tried with Verbatim, Philips DVD-R and lost several DVDs. Meanwhile on the net surfing, I discovered that the engraver of DVD from Toshiba is a little sensitive and try to use Verbatim DVD - R brand. I tried with Verbatim 2 days and at the last moment when I was about to dance with joy that the first DVD is created, received an error like below

    * "The following issue occurred during the recording of the data of the disc.*
    Current process will be stopped.*

    * A power calibration area error occurred.*
    * Please check if the disc is scratched or dirty.*
    * If Yes, please try again with a new disc.*

    "* (Error code: 0E01B5-26-00037304)."

I don't really understand the message. Can advise you on how to create the recovery disks.

    Kind regards

    Hello

To me, it seems that the used DVD discs are not completely supported by ODD.
It seems to be a compatibility issue.

I had this problem in the past, but I could resolve it using another DVD from another manufacturer.
I had a good experience with TDK DVD-R.
Using the R disk I was able to burn the disc, but using the + R I received an error message.
