Satellite L40 - 14H - mainboard or the video card
I have a problem with my laptop (Satellite L4014H). He was broken twice.
Initially, he broken then I worked with 3Ds max and has begun to make, and after that this support for the service has changed my motherboard.
After a few months, then I installed again 3Ds max, he beat again (the same problem).
I assumed that my video card is not good at it, and maybe the video card is seriously overheat and die.
What should I do? Maybe sell it and buy a new one?
The graphics card in your laptop is not really good for 3D applications. I think that's the problem but contact the manufacture from 3Ds max and ask if the compatible graphics card from your laptop.
You can try to make a graphic driver update. Search on the Toshiba site for an update:
I have Toshiba Satellite A300d-156. An ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 video card is dead.
I want to change the video card, but I don't know her size.
I found this on ebay:
Is it compatible with my laptop? Help, please!
Sorry, but man I must say: forget it.
You can't go to the graphics chip. It will not work and the BIOS would not accept.
In your case, you will need to replace the motherboard. :(, cela peut être une affaire très coûteuse...) You know
I own a Toshiba Satellite L40-139 under Windows Vista 32-bit. However, I think that this problem only applies to this model as other users are experiencing the same thing.
I often watch videos online mode full screen (like on YouTube), but when I leave full-screen mode, I noticed that virtual scrolling stops working on the touchpad. This occurs in the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox. I can still move the pointer, but cannot scroll. I also note that the icon in the taskbar freezes, because it does not meet all the movements on the touchpad. I have the latest version of the driver installed (10.0.3.0).
Is it possible for Toshiba to issue an updated driver for the Synaptics pointing device which solves this problem?
It's the first time that someone has posted this question
I checked this on my Satellite U400 and quest that; the touchpad works ok
There may be a registry problem with your operating system who knows
It would be interesting to know how the touchpad scroll function works by using the new OS installed
I have problems with video on a 5100/201 Satellite. It seems that when I press the left side above the graphics card or press a key on the keyboard on this side, the screen begins to be scrambled and vertical lines appear. To end Windows XP resets giving a critical error on the device and the video goes to 640 x 480. Same thing happens when you run Linux Suse 9.0.
My question is what is the cause: map graphic damaged or overheating due to the fan not as effective as originally (my laptop is nearly two years old. Do you have someone be able to find the cause and solved the problem, also with the assistance of Toshiba?
Any help welcome.
I think the problem on your laptop depends on the fan.
A colleague on mine has a 5100-603 and had similar problems.
The Station changed the fan.
I have a TOSHIBA Satellite M70, with video card Intel (r) 915GM/GMS (256 MB) that is not working properly (it might be made of the mechanical shock or high temperature, do not know, but I'm sure it's something on the hardware). I reinstalled my OS (and then replaced by another), updated my drivers but nothing changes. Then appears a BSOD evoking the video driver files I try to restart it many times because the screen guard shutted down (in black). Now, the video card is disabled, and it works normally. I want to just replace it if it is possiblle. I said * TOSHIBA Satellite M70, Intel (r) 915GM / GMS *.
Thanks for your answers in advance, and sorry for the mistakes (I'm not English)!
Please read carefully this document http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm
You can find answers on GPU upgrade/Exchange.
I have the new Satellite L650 - 1 M 6 with no operating system. When I did a fresh install of Windows 7 32 bit, I had several device problems. Most of them that I managed solve my self (as wlan drivers) but now I need your professional help.
At this moment, I had left this problem of devices (on the information system):
Not available ACPI\TOS6205\4 & 4A257CF & 0 the drivers for this device are not installed.
I think it might be the video card (must be ATI HD5470) but SysInfo says:
Type available, compatible adapter (Standard display types)
Description Standard VGA Graphics Adapter adapt
Would appreciate any help on this.
Thank you in advance.
As I see you as laptop without OS and you try to install and configure your own operating system.

Is it possible to upgrade the video card for M30?
Also noticed lately that the cooler starts roaring Java =. =' can it be connected to my (now defunct) video card or I just better clean the cooler?
The video card can't be updated because it s soldered onto the motherboard.
Here is a document Toshiba upgrade the CPU and the GPU:
But why you want to upgrade the video card?
However, you clean your laptop if you use the jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
is it possible to replace the video card in my laptop L20-149?
because I can not play on my video card intel because its slow and boring... don't worry not about the warranty because its not valid anymore
No, it is not possible to s.
Why? I could list several points why it s not possible, but this question was asked several times in this forum.
He just use the Toshiba advanced search forum and search for updated graphics card.
You just bought a T130 has 4 GB of ram.
I would attribute this to the video card.
How can I do this, I do not see it in the BIOS, normally there is a setting to change AGP aperture but I can't.
Does anyone know how to do this?
This setting is controlled by the driver of the software or the hardware itself and it cannot be changed. However, you really don't need to worry; If more RAM is required (almost always because of the game) it it will get to the need.
Is there a chance to change the video card in my laptop Toshiba L300-110? I have 2 GB of RAM and 160 HARD drive.
No, you can t change the video card because it s soldered onto the motherboard.
For more details, see this link from Toshiba:
I'll find a way to have my 8700M GT updated on my X 200 laptop.
I paid for it more than 2000 and I paid for 2 years warranty.
A few months later, I discovered that some of the new Toshiba are equipped with 9700 m GTS!
I know that the X 200-20 G is having a mxm graphics card which is removable to be upgraded (not being is not part of the motherboard).
I couldn't find anywhere in the Toshiba site, where I can ask to buy a new graphics card, or if I can send my laptop and ask for an upgrade price.
I suppose someone who has paid a sum of money for Toshiba can be listened to, or get a special offer to swap its model to the newest one after even not a year of use.
I really want to upgrade the video card, and I don't really know where to find advice or information about it, other than on the side of Toshiba.
Thanks to everyone or admin, to let me know how I should do, or process.
Read the knowledge base of Toshiba, I created this article http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm
It may be interesting for you.
I have not found the battery which compatible with my Satellite L40 - 14H.
Just look on your current battery and check the part number. Using this part number, you should find a few (use Google) online shops where you can buy a new one.
Alternative you can contact a service provider authorized in your country. They sell all spare parts Toshiba.
As you can see it's pretty easy to get a new battery. :)
Hi guys, I have a laptop Satellite Pro A10 and I was wondering if anyone of you could help me.
I want to improve my Ram card memory and video. The video card now is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller and want a graphics card with at least 128 MB of memory on this subject.
Any help would be appreciated muchly.
It of not possible to change the graphics card. The graphics card is a small chip that attaches to the motherboard.
This graphics card supports up to 64 MB shared memory. The graphics card gets this value of main memory if it s needed.
The possibility to upgrade the memory of this device is something different.
You can upgrade the memory to max 1024 MB (2x512MB) and these modules should work.
PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)
PC2100 512 MB (PA3164U - 1 M 51)
Hope this will help a little.
I have satellite and I'm going to upgrate the video card is it possible?
I would like to help some of the details. What videocard cand do to.
GPU card on mobile gear cannot be upgraded.
More info on what you can read on - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
I have satellite 1900 - 303 and want to somehow upgrade the video card. Is that someone has an idea that is possible or not and if yes how and where to buy a new one.
It is generally not possible to update the graphics card in a notebook. They are generally adapted to fit the available space and also specially designed drivers that are specific to your model of laptop. It is also quite common for them to use the RAM shared rather than having their own chip RAM (although some later model specifications have dedicated for graphics RAM).
You can check in your advanced (from Control Panel) display options if you can adjust the RAM available for your graphics card.
