Hello

I L40 - 17Q with XP but everytime when I try to install my CD/DVD - favorite emulation program

I think that there is a problem with the storage driver.

Have you experienced such a question?

    Hello

I want to install XP, but it is said that there is no HARD drive. Already tried nLite, but no result. I have Satellite L40 - 17Q and I'm under Win. 7.
    What can I do?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

What SATA driver you have integrated with nLite? If Windows XP cannot always find a disk of t means that you used the wrong driver. The correct driver can be downloaded from the official website of Toshiba and you need the Intel Storage Manager.

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If you have downloaded the correct driver, follow the instructions here and make sure that your version of XP SP3:

  • Blue screens with XP on Satellite L40 - 17Q

    Hello

I have Satellite L40 17 Q with Xp installed and working.

Even after a clear Blue Screen of Death installation appear from time to time, especially the mention IRQL or Special_poll_detected issues...

I want to believe that there is no hardware problem or it's just the drivers, but I do not have another package of driver that I downloaded from the Toshiba site.

Please give me your opinion or any suggestion of a solution.

The laptop has 1.86 Celeron CPU and 2 GB of ram.
I was wondering what version of Vista it would fit and how does it perform on Vista.

I decided to go with Home Premium {without the Aero}, but I do not if the pc would be stable enough or it will go sluggish.

Briefly, please tell me my computer run differently with Vista over XP?

    Thanks in advance

Dude. Problems with xp can be solved with a windows repair. But to do that if your serial number have not been used too otherwise you will struggle to activate xp with it. Second: Try to stay with xp for a while: a year at least. Vista which is not good, but because of compatibility issues, and he uses a * charge of resources more than xp. Hsould you have at least 2 GB of ram to run vista well. You have, but with this you' owe it have a core duo 2.0 ghz processor. My senses. XP is much faster on a pc with 2 GB of ram than vista with 2 GB of ram. For Windows vista to work the fat, you should have that 4 GB of ram. That's me form.

  • Graphic resolution on Satellite L40 - 17Q problem

There is no if long my screen crashed... actually the turbine BP has opened with a screen resolution of 640 x 480 and 4 bit color.

I couldn't change the resolution or color depth, whenever I tried came back to 640 x 480. I tried to install the new versions of the driver, the old versions with no luck. I installed win. Vista and it worked but on my slow computer as short BONES.

Today I installed a new version of windows xp and before installing display drivers offered by Toshiba, the resolution worked higher then 640 x 480. After the instalation it failed once again. If I look in Device Manager I see that the drivers are installed and working, but there is another tab called "Other devices" which has 3 positions, all the 3 named "LGPhilipsLCDLP154WX4-TLD2".

No drivers are available for children of what I tried.

    Please help me! :-(

    Hello

In my case I have 3 entries called Plug-and-Play monitor.
I guess there is everything goes well in your device manager.
Instead of Plug & Play monitor your entry is called LGPHilipsLDC154WX4-TLD2.

Try to remove it from the Device Manager (mark it and delete), and then restart.
Perhaps the entry of the Plug-and-Play monitor is displayed.

If this isn't the case, well fine, then you should t be worried because it doesn't matter how this entry is called it shouldn't t affect anything!

    Hello

I have Satellite L40 series laptop and my DVD drive is now locked. My region is the Bulgaria. The model of Optics is Mat * a Uj - 850 s. I read a lot of forums and Web sites but cannot find.

Please if anyone has this firmware, I will be very grateful.

I guess you know very well that you cannot change region code so often you want. Because of this it is reminder and inform the user how many times it can be done. The last code used will be defined as a default value.

To be Pierre you can not change now legal way. Of course on the net, you can probably find a tool for this. I assume that you need code 2 for Europe.

  • Recovery for Satellite L40-143 DVDs

    Hi all

I have a huge problem with my network options. My Windows Media Player 11 *(OS: Vista Home Basic) * cannot broadcast on the internet and goes to other programs and players. Also, the options of WMP 11 has disappeared and now there's only the tab "burn". I tried everything, but I could not solve the problem.

The last thing that comes to mind is to use the recovery dvd in order to solve this problem. Unfortunately I don't have the recovery DVDs right now.
My question is: is it possible to download a dvd for Toshiba Satellite L40 - 143 somewhere data recovery?

If someone knows a solution to my original problem, please do not hesitate to share it with me ;)

    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite L40 - CD/DVD drive does not end to close after burning

    Hello

My TOSHIBA SATELLITE L40 works correctly under VISTA HOME PREMIUM. This is the first time that I realize that the CD/DVD driver is unable to complete a session of engraving using NERO8, NERO9, ASHAMPO TSHIBA DISC CREATOR or in Windows mode. The burn starts fine from 0% to 100% where it remains for a long time. Where can be the problem come from? Is the driver broken only for burning?

It correctly reads all CDs and DVDs once loaded.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think that this problem can be caused by using fully compatible diskettes
I had many problems with different CD or DVD from different manufacturers.
I tested several brands and finally I had a good experience with TDK discs Verbatim R my disk manages this disc better than others

Perhaps, you should also test different drives from different manufacturers.

  • Can activate a Satellite L40 DVD burner

I recently bought a Satellite L40 (Vista Home) which came with a Pioneer DVD burner. The problem I have is that the player is currently disabled and that any attempt to activate the device fails.

Can someone advise a solution because I can't use the drive as it is?
    Thanks in advance.

What exactly do you mean by saying that the player is currently disabled?

Have you checked the Device Manager and the status of the CD/DVD driver?
Do you see yellow exclamation points?

However, no matter if a yellow exclamation point appears or not, you should try to remove the CD/DVD drive device manager and must restart the laptop.
Finally, the Windows operating system should recognize a new device and should reinstall the CD/DVD drive.

Hope this short procedure will help you get the job of CD/DVD drive.

    I appreciate feedback ;) cheers
