  The Satellite A100, I presume that you need BIOS password. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. Accredited maintainer Toshiba can remove the password for you.

  I have one of our users, send pictures to our Web site.  Currently, it uses a connection FTP via Adobe CS3 contribute to our web server.  This worked very well in the past.  However, currently, it is transferring photos to a dynamic website [Wordpress] and do not use Contribute to edit pages directly [as this is obviously done with the web Wordpress Administration Panel].  The method employed is, within Adobe CS3 contribute, file > publish the file to the desktop.  That's fine, but the problem is that it can only download one file at a time, and if it has already downloaded the file, it has no way of knowing that she has downloaded previously, with the exception that Contribute adds a 001 at the end of the file name.

  How can access a folder structure in CS3 contribute, treat it as an FTP client?  I don't know that this should be doable.  Yes, I could install an FTP client, but she is very comfortable with CS3 contribute and use this application to other parts of the site that are static.

  Hi, hoping someone can help me with a slight problem, I'll have

  I recently bought a Satellite L450-188 (number PSLY0E-03K019EN) running under Windows 7 64-bit

  I use the laptop with a DJ program called Rane Serato Scratch Live, I got latency usb problems, getting usb dropouts when I try to use the program on the smallest audio buffer position (which I expect to be able to do)

  When I contacted support at Serato team with my problem, they suggested that I run a program to check the time DPC on my laptop, when I presented the report to them, they said ACPI.sys was the origin of the problem and suggested that interest me to turn it off, but I wasn't too comfortable with that.

  The other suggestion was to try to find updates the bios for my laptop, but I'm not too set up with that sort of thing, and I'm worried I might damage the laptop maybe installing the wrong thing.

  Can someone give me advice on this topic, because I don't know what to do

  Normally the ACPI means Advanced Configuration and Power Interface and control options for energy savings.
  So if something is wrong with the ACPI.sys file I recommend reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.
  By the way: are you running pre-installed Windows version or another?

  Your laptop belongs to the series of PSLY0E, so you can download latest BIOS.

  Before you begin the BIOS update, close all running programs and extract all the files from zip archive. You start the update as an administrator and connect the AC adapter. Also, make sure that the battery is fully charged.

  I have a new Satellite L450-136 that came with Windows 7, Office 7, Adobe Reader 9 installed.

  When I opened recently received pdf files from the hard drive (Windows Explorer or Adobe Reader) or Internet Explorer, the individual pages are there but are greyed out and cannot be read. But I can still print. I can open and see the old PDFs on my hard drive. If I make a new pdf from Word, I can see the text, but not to see the photos. Looks like a display problem but what?

  Have you tried to update Adobe Reader? The most recent version of the Adobe Reader software is 9.2.0. If you n t have this version, you must update!

  By the way: I give you a tip: I use Foxit PDF Reader. This tool is small, freeware and in my opinion much faster than Adobe Reader. I love it and now I have that Foxit PDF Reader installed and no problems at all.

  I am retired and to my knowledge has been gained since the Commodore 64 days, then Amiga and PC now, but it isn't enough for me to fix this problem. I found very frustrating to be able to use a Linux program and see all the programs on the PC, but not actually being able to restart it, and start them! I could probably Boot & Nuke the hard drive, but my friend wasn't t provided with a disc of Windows 7 o/s system couldn t so re-installed without buying again.

  I would be very grateful for any advice on how to get rid of the HD1/FLOPPY/NEXT HD window and a solution for the portable computer so that it starts properly. I took pictures of different screens on the laptop that I could pass if they would help.

  In my opinion, you should remove the HARD drive and connect it to another computer and perform low level set in shape and just delete everything. You can use a tool like this and after doing this put back and try to install the original recovery image using the recovery disk.

  In the past I ve never had these problems, but I think it's the best way to remove all the viruses or malicious applications.

  The two race perfectly and never had problems charging the battery or similar
  I have other laptop which is 8 years from another manufacturer but the battery is dead, but it's nothing unusual for laptop that is so old ;)

  This can be verified if you would connect a power adapter new and tested.
  However, I think that it s not worth it to buy a new adapter only to run some tests, this should be done by technicians for laptop

  Well, usually to reinstall Windows, you must boot from the first recovery disk and then follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall Windows. Everything is done automatically and you get back to factory settings.

• Question about hard drive partitions - Satellite L450

  I just got a new Satellite L450 with a 250 GB hard drive. I moved my media on it and quickly received a warning from the Toshiba Bulletin board that my hard drive was achieved at full capacity. When I look at 'My computer', it shows 2 hard drives, WINDOWS (C :) and DATA(D:).) I guess it's one thing to install because there is only one hard drive.

  C and D drives are around 120 GB but WINDOWS is 75% sold out. How to use drive D and avoid the warning on the capacity of the drive?
  Can I change the capactiy for C and D allowances?

  In my opinion, you should simply ignore this message. In Windows Explorer, you can clearly see how much free space is available on each partition. So I think t for the partitions and data administration you n t need to monitoring applications.

  This partitions C and D is the standard setting for the new Toshiba laptops.
  In disk management you can change the ability of the partitions but I n t think this is the best solution for you because the two partitions are filled with data.

  When I go to DirectX tells me that my approximate total video memory is 1326 MB (wrong, it takes just of RAM). For a Toshiba Satellite L450-188 - how can I define clearly what it takes be the used video memory size and the RAM?

  I'm not quite sure that what is happening with the webcam, but more often the webcam can be started using the software of the webcam installed m.

  In msconfig-> Startup tab, you can disable the webcam software to prevent automatic loading, while the laptop starts the software.

  Then you could start again the software and the webcam.
  You will see the little icon in the taskbar (lower right corner).
  Click on-> see the toolbar
  Then a webcam toolbar should appear where you could choose webcam only option.

  PS: If something went wrong with the installation of the webcam software, then uninstall the software and try again
