Satellite L450 - white screen, Fan Spin, the Green and red lights

Hello

I got this Toshiba L450 for a few years now but suddenly will not display anything on the screen. The hard drive does not sound like its spinning, but the fans turn on and then off the coast from time to time. There is green a light orange, but nothing shows it. I tired it on a monitor vga, and nothing shows on the screen. I tried to take the battery and nothing. I opened to check the connections are correct and that they are. I suspect the motherboard that went on the laptop but I was wondering if it was possible to do something else?

I also took the RAM modules one by one and still nothing. I also used another battery and still nothing. As the dust has been removed fans as there was a lot of dust. The warranty expired a long time ago.

All the tips, but be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Hello

To be honest, I don't think you can do something other than control of the RAM and the laptop for external monitor connection.
RAM failure can cause issues as described in your ad, but it seems that you have already checked the modules of RAM and obviously, this isn't the reason for the question.

So I think it may be the CPU or motherboard failure
Motherboards are laptop parts more expensive, and if the laptop is not covered by the warranty, I wouldn't try fix this problem in this case, its value to buy a new laptop of course, that would be the only problem of CPU then maybe you should get in contact with a technician laptop that could test the hardware to get over details on the issue.

    Hello

    I have a HP Z620 workstation.

I am using Kingston ValueRAM 16 GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1333 MHz DIMM Desktop Server Memory.   (J'ai également essayer écarter un problème de mémoire utilisé FUREUR de Kingston HyperX 8 GB Kit (2x4Go) 1333 MHz DDR3 CL9 DIMM - black (HX313C9FBK2/8)) as well as herself, to see if that makes a difference.)

I don't know how to identify my system board other than the one she reads only numbers as "FMB-1102" and "PBLNV0GCY4N0TF" and "such as #618264-001 REV 0 G'.  He has "hp (copyright symbol) 2012 ' and"E93839"and"FXN1"written on it as well.  (After some searching I guess it's card mother 618264-001.  Which differ a card system like 619559-001 - a model later?)

My graphics card is a XFX R7 240 780 MHz 4 GB DDR3 HDMI DVI VGA graphics card.  (I also try out a video card problem used an EVGA Nvidia GeForce GT 620 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM PCI Express 2.0 x 16 video card to see if it would make a difference.)

With respect to the hard drive, I have formatted and reused a WD Blue 500 GB Desktop hard drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb / s, 16 MB Cache 3.5 inches - WD5000AAKX.

    My problem:

1 regardless of what video card I use, if I use the FURY of Kingston HyperX 8 GB Kit (2x4gb) 1333 MHz DDR3 CL9 DIMM - black (HX313C9FBK2/8) memory and starts, I get a blue light, no beeps, no code of message I can say.  However, no tension of the video card (fans not spin) and no power is supplied to the drive hard (do not load and run).  I get a blank screen and can see nothing.  Back fans begin to turn in very strong and turbo mode.

2 regardless of what video card I use, if I use the Kingston ValueRAM 16 GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1333 MHz DIMM Desktop Memory Server, I get a red light and eight beeps which means a kind of ROM BIOS/CMOS-problem problem problem.  To this end, I tried pressing the button Clear CMOS without result.  I removed the CMOS battery for a sufficient period of time and again.  Nothing changes this situation.  It only happens when I put this special memory in the computer.  If I stick a USB Thumb Drive with file BIOS (BIN) in it which is 3. XX or higher, it will boot to the BIOS on a limited basis.  I also had to understand that I couldn't do anything with a USB keyboard, I could only select options using a PS/2 keyboard - maybe it crashes on some USB devices at this point?

    3. I understand that if I let the rider of recovery from crisis on the 2nd and 3rd pins rather than pins 1 and 2, that it will load from a backup and I can actually do things.   On this basis, I was able to install Windows 10 education 64-bit and a host of programs and otherwise, use the computer normally.  But I can't start unless I have keep that crisis rider of recovery set to pins 2 and 3 and so he can start in the operating system normally by pressing F1.

    4. I while on Windows, updated the BIOS to the latest version, HP Z420/Z620 Workstations system BIOS 3.90 Rev.A (August 8, 2016) using sp77058.exe (19 MB).  I've also updated other drivers as I could with the HP SoftPaq Download Manager (SDM).  None of this changes the problem at initial boot upward.  At the start he complains front chassis fan does not turn, but this is not a problem I have printing allows to stop a boot to the top, it would give just a warning and still boot normally.

Well my computer works and does that as long as I keep this crisis recovery jumper on.  But I feel that I should be able to solve the problem and he can begin without interference and without resorting to a measure as drastic.  Suggestions anyone?

Thanks in advance for your time.

    MR. J.

    Juggerknight,

Keep the rider of recovery of block starting on pins 2 and 3 of E15.  It's 'off' because the 3 pin is not connected.  Put the jumper to pins 2 to 3 "parks" the rider.  Put the jumper on pins 1-2 active boot block recovery mode, and the system does not start with the jumper in this position 'on '.  (You have already discovered this)

In addition, do not mix unbuffered and registered in the same system memory.  Use either one or the other.

  • Satellite A60 - white screen Freeze on Boot up

    Hello

My laptop Satellite A60-106 has developed a problem starting up upward. It just hangs on a white to the startup screen until I see all the graphics. It seems that it can access the CD/DVD drive, but any attempt to start with a recovery disk fails in the same white screen and it freezes. I tried the advice from manufacturers that power with the F12 key and another suggestion on the
CD hold down the C key while powering brings the same result.

Nothing other than the white screen. I tried F8 to see if I can get into safe mode but it will not exceed the original deaf of readers and then silence. I can't imagine a way to get it to allow me to pass. I'm sure you can however? I'd be happy to format and reload but if I can't access the drive so how can I do this?

I wanted to increase the RAM, but all the suggestions in the book of the hand do not relate to the layout of my laptop. The small Access window on the bottom of the laptop will not provide sufficient access to the RAM? Poking around the RAM could have induced this white screen lock?

    Thank you
    Charlie

    Hello, Charlie

To be honest you have serious problem and I really don't believe that you can solve alone. It is not easy to say with certainty why white screen occurs at startup to the top. In my opinion there are several reasons responsible for this.
    -Display (electronic LCD screen, cable)
-as far as I know white screen occurs if FL dimmer makes background light but there is no signal display can be defects on the motherboard and there is no video signal

The best thing you can do is to contact the authorized service provider. They check your laptop. They have special tools and there is no problem to know why this happen.

    Good bye

  • Just as a reference: how to FIX the annoying 'White Screen Of Death"with Silverlight and"Access denied"error with computer management.

Well, I just hope that someone who has met these two mistakes will find my dose. It might save a lot of pointless research on the net.

    SYMPTOMS:
-When you try to open a Silverlight application in your browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc), your browser displays only a white area. When you right click on the white area, you can click on the Silverlight properties.
-If you try to start "Computer management" by clicking on the 'My Computer' icon and select 'Manage', you get the following error: 'access denied '.

    CAUSE:
The following errors are usually the result of a bad environment variable. In this case the "windir" environment variable does not work correctly. You can try running the management of the computer to start > run and entering:
    %windir%\system32\mmc.exe/s %windir%\system32\compmgmt.msc

Notice the between the characters of percentage windir environment variable. If you run the above code, you will probably get an error saying that MMC cannot open the file. Look closely at the path, it's back!
You will probably find any % somewhere.

What actually happened here is the variable windir made reference to another variable: systemroot
Why this creates problems, I'm not sure. Also, I don't understand what made then variable windir change.

    SOLUTION:
-From your desktop or Explorer: right-click on "My computer" and select "Properties".
-Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click "Environment Variables".

    http://pcauthorities.com/images/advanced-system-properties-XP.jpg

-Did the windir variable. Together to "C:\Windows" do not think that it is already set to "C:\Windows", because windows then tells you. Double-click it to know for sure.

    http://www.adminxp.com/windowsvista/envvariabl.PNG

-See, I told you! Change this to "C:\Windows".

  • White screen after that the virus KLPD, same save modus starts

Hi, yesterday while surfing the internet has become my white screen, it was the virus KLPD. I found on the internet that I had to download the kaspersky rescue disk and run it on my pc so I could scan my pc on the virus and after that my pc should be normal. So I did what they asked, but now, whenever I start my pc, when I would have my office, I get a white screen and when I pres ctrl + alt + delete I can get in the menu but the management tasks does not start. Now my question how can I come back all my documents and work normal again to my laptop. Its a HP Pavilion dv6000 Entertainment PC.

    Thank you

    Hey AlexDedeur5,

You may be able to create a Live CD. This is a CD with an alternative operating system that runs completely from a CD rather than your hard drive.

Using a Live CD, you can access your hard disk just like you acceding to a flash drive. You can copy and paste your files from the hard drive of your laptop computer to a flash drive or external hard drive. You will need to scan that disc flash drive/external hard with a reliable anti-virus program before opening or transfer these files to avoid infecting a second computer.

To get a very good Live CD is Knoppix. I used it before a couple times to get data from infected computers and hard drives, partially damaged by a fall. Here are some links that provide you with more information about Knoppix.

How to recover data in Linux

5 tips for using Knoppix to recover data to a PC starts plu

How do to retrieve the files from the laptop with Windows crashed using the Knoppix CD

Once your data is backed up and scanned with an antivirus, you will need to re - install Windows on the hard drive of your laptop. You can have a recovery partition which you can access by pressing F11 as the computer powers on. If you do not have the HP Recovery Manager, choose System Recovery to factory settings.

If you are unable to the HP Recovery Manager, or it has been lost due to virus, you will need to re - install Windows with a set of recovery disks. If you do not already have your own records, you can order them through HP. If you could provide me with your exact product number (and your country if outside the United States), I could link you to your order for your particular laptop. Here are the steps to finding your product number.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if one of these suggestions helped (this might help others with the same question). I'll keep an eye out for your answer!

  • White screen after starting the desktop computer

Original title: Windows 7 white after the start of desktop screen.

When windows starts my desktop appears for 5 seconds and then the screen become white. I can't do any of that except the computer restarts.  When I do this, white screen closes and I see my office, but which also closes and the system restarts with the same question.   It seems that something is loading right after my office that does not... I can't access to my office to see what is on... Any thoughts on how I can fix this, other than a system restore?

    I have a solution

First of all causes of white screen most of the files exe as spyware or viruses is the best way to solve this boot

on winpe CD or DVD from winpe, the research of malicious software which load at startup

If you don't know what file is it tries to start the Task Manager when connecting

to do this, go to system32 and then make a copy of cmd.exe and rename the copy sethc.exe and replace the current sethc after this restart let it connect normally, then pass the user pressing a win + l and then press SHIFT 5 times then a command prompt should appear then type taskmgr.exe and then find the process and kill it and remove via msconfig or winpe sorry for my bad English

  • The Green and black wire to three posts on HP POWER supply

Hello!  I recently updated my old diet Pavilion 760n for a power SUPPLY ATX 500W PSU.  Everything worked very well.

Uh, except that a small pig green and black of the former power supply... one that has been plugged in where it says 'PS - FAN' on my mobo.  I didn't have one of these same three grandsons connectors on the new power supply.

And is even funnier, as the old power supply HP has a list on the side which shows what color wire has what voltage on it - red + 5V yellow is + 12V, black is ground, etc., but GREEN is not on the list!

I opened my computer and big case fan is running (12VDC fan), the fan on the heatsink from the CPU works, the GPU card fan works... the only fan who is not running is the power supply fan (but I think it is because it is running when the power supply gets hot and she needs).

Can someone tell me what this little piggy of son was for and what voltage it supplied, and how it is used? Thank you!

It's your motherboard and I see that the outlet marked PS - FAN.  Apparently motherboard and bios controlled the speed of the fan to power supply.  It is the first time I heard of this, but then you have an older model of PC.  New power supplies have an internal fan.  The Green wire can be a signal wire.

  • At the start of the fan to the top and stop at 100%

    Hello people.

There are not many things to add really on what I said in the topic. When I turn on the PC the gos Fan until I can only describe as 100% (Jet Engine) and it remains at 100% to the bottom of the screen, and only when it seems sensors and the Fans of Apears on the bottom right of the screen. When this produces fans starts to slow down its normal speed and the PC becomes quite once more... Now, this is obviously something that something has been damaged inside the pc, now wiz im not a PC and I am always fully covered by Dell for next day repairs but not right ide and I worry rather see if I can try a fix myself before getting someone to appear at my house. Again, as mentioned on my subject Shut down is the same when I select a stop down the wiz fans themselves up again what I can only describe as 100% and to 100% of the power is turned off completely... any help is welcome for me.

on a side note the PC works quite well when it works (and when the Fans stop going crazy)... Checks system COMPLETE and Dell came up with zero problems (all ticks)

If you need any information on what this pc is running do not hesitate to ask.

    Thank you

Also run CheckDisk, so we cannot exclude as much as possible of the corruption.

Often drivers up-to-date will help, usually video, sound, network card (NIC), WiFi, 3rd party keyboard and
smile, as well as of other major device drivers.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • When I try to open the keyboard screen, I get the prompt and click to connect, but it does not connect.

    OT: On the keyboard interface.

When I try to open the keyboard screen, I get the prompt and click to connect, but it does not connect. My hard keyboard is dysfunctional and now I can't type my password to connect. Is there a way to get around this? Thanks for any help.

There is a problem with the KB3004394 update that causes what you see as well as other issues.

Uninstall this update, your system should return to normal.

While in Windows Update, select View Update History then installed updates. Go to the bottom of the list to KB3004394, right-click on it and choose uninstall.

Microsoft has removed the update of the distribution.

I would try to borrow a keyboard if you can so that you can perform the uninstall.

  • Flashing green and Red pixels

    Hey, guys!

I'm new to the forum and I apologize in advance if there is another thread with the same problem. I wanted to just share some pictures and maybe get answers to my problems. As mentioned in the legend my macbook air that I bought last year has green and Red pixels flashing on the screen. It covers just a vertical strip of 3-4 cm on the left side. It does not affect the performance but it gets really annoying. Im guessing there is something faulty with the video card or the matrix of pixels.

Anyone know what seems to be the problem? In addition, the 1 year warranty covers these dysfunctions of the material? And how long would it take for the apple service center to fix it?

    Thank you in advance!

    See you soon,.

It looks like a bad graphics card. Bring any Apple store, it must be covered under AppleCare.
