Satellite L450D-11V to 10 Windows upgrade
Try to download W7 SP1 upgrade by Toshiba or Microsoft. The two tell me what follows: -.
The product key you have entered seems to be the software that was preinstalled on a device. Contact the manufacturer of the device for soft recovery options.
Here are the details of the computer: Satellite L450D-11V
Yes, the W7 software was preinstalled. Toshiba has never provided a disk.
How to download Windows 7 Service Pack 1?
Toshiba does not provide any records... you must create this disk using the preinstalled software called Toshiba recovery creator middle...
This tool creates the recovery media that allows to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings...
The system is already enabled and requires no button...
If you have own OS, you need a valid key of Ms.
Hello. I have a Satellite L450D-11V and I was wondering which processors could I look as a possible next step upward from the dual core AMD that is already there? I can even change the processor or is it is soldered to the motherboard? I'll be throwing in some extra RAM as well for good measure. Maybe even a little hard drive SSD?
I started to get a bit frustrated with my laptop because it's a little too slow for me lately and I don't have the money to get a new laptop, so I want to make updates when possible.
Thanks in advance

There, you can find some useful information on the CPU or GPU upgrade on Toshiba laptops.
My personal opinion is that upgrading the CPU is not necessary. As a first step, this step can be quite risky and secondly a performance gain will not be noticed. Another important thing is that, due to the specific design, each model of mobile optimized cooling system. A more powerful processor means more heat could present risks to the motherboard.
There are other measures to make more powerful laptop but without any risk. You can upgrade RAM and swap original HDD with very fast SSD. These updates is supported by the owner of the laptop, and you can do it without risk. As a last step, you need to optimize preinstalled OS and I'm sure that you will be very satisfied with your laptop.
I did the same thing on my machine for 5 years. Windows 7 starts in only 35 seconds and performance is just great.
On my Satellite L450D-11V with Windows 7 Premium 64-bit, Tempro today said there is an important update that replaces the recovery partition with a new, to overcome the problem of error message on portable computers with more than 4 GB of RAM. Although I have only 3GB, it says that the update is for everyone because it can go to more than 4 GB in the future.
It is all very well, so I downloaded and tried to run the .exe unpacked, but at half way through the installation, he stops and tells me that the update is only for 64 bit versions of Windows 7... which is mine. I got it for five days, it came with Windows 7 Prem 64 bit and I certainly did not use 32-bit downgrade DVD and it says clearly "64 - bit operating system" in my computer.
Update do you mean exactly? Can you post information please as filename, etc.. ?
Normally there is no recovery partition. There is only one file called HDDrecovery on the second partition where you can reinstall Windows from this folder. On Vista and Windows 7, there is a hidden partition but it s the Windows recovery environment and has nothing to do with Toshiba.
Moreover, I don t use TEMPRO because install updates manually if it of necessary.
Beginner of the computer here.
I have a Satellite L450D-11V.
Last week I dropped and since I get a PXE - E61 error. Below, it says something on Realtek Ethernet and then the error message appears below the media cannot be detected.
What does that mean? and what do I do to fix the error?
Cell phones have several bootable devices such as hard disk drive, optical disk drive and network card.
In the BIOS settings it is possible to define which device can be used as first, second or last boot device.
If the first boot device is not detected laptop tries to use the bootable device second and third at least. In your case to some hard disks drive and optical drive reason undetectable bootable devices ant he tries to use the network card. For this reason, you can see this PXE - E61 error.
I can't say for sure but I'm afraid there is a serious technical problem with your HARD drive and it can no longer be used as ring starting m.
What you can do is to enter the BIOS settings and check if the HARD drive is listed and recognized correctly.
Also try start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. If the HARD drive is listed there he choose and press ENTER. What happens when you do this?
Please post comments.
I just need some advice here.
I own a Toshiba Satellite L450D-11V with a years warranty. I bought it in the city of Belfast in the United Kingdom.
So that travel in Asia one of my Ram chips burn for some reason, and when I arrived in Australia, I had to get it replaced.
Now the chip grilled while the laptop was under warranty, but at the time where I got to the shop in Australia, it was a month after the expiration of the warranty.
It cost me a cool $ 194.00 to get a new chip in it as I understand, it was a Toshiba registered shop.
Basically, I want to know who do I contact about this because I kept the broken part and any reception and relieved of taxes for the expenses.
I understand it has been repaired after expiration of the warranty and so I am not able to get help, but I'm being honest when I say that it happened before hand and I'm pretty sure there's a way to check when it is grilled.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some advice, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks for your help
Are you still in Australia?
I can recommend you contact Toshiba. You can try to call Toshiba hotmail and ask for help or advice.
Please check the support page s Toshiba under http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/customer-contact/support
You will find the phone number or how to use the Email from Toshiba Support.
Bye and good luck.
Bought new by Satellite L450D-11v and after the first 30 days expired McAfee have tried to add this new laptop on my McAfee subscription existing that the extra cost is much more reasonable than another stand-alone subscription just to the new laptop. I already did this same exact process with a netbook Toshiba (XP) and laptop (Vista) with no difficulty.
However, when you try to download the new license on the McAfee site, I get a blue screen installation with 'not less equal iqrl. There other details too but the screen flashes very quickly and beyond.
Have requested assistance from McAfee, including uses of their removal tool to remove the trial version before you download the full license over several sessions of remote access with McAfee technicians taking control of the laptop, but all ended with the same result. McAfee now seem to be perplexed.
I did a couple of full HARD drive recovery to start but always end upward with the same problem.
The laptop is fresh out of the box - no software or additional hardware.
Googling this type of error, the view seems to be that it is normally associated pilot but the laptop is all of 5 weeks?
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you. Andy
At first, I have to say that I did not like McAffe and first thing I've done is to remove the system.
I just want to post my opinion on this.
Toshiba offers McAffe with original images of recovery as a trial version. Each of us can do what to make the decision. Some people there out of the system, and some of them may buy a valid license and continue using the preinstalled version.
I can't imagine Toshiba will propose something that does not work and I am sure that this registration procedure is tested by McAffe and Toshiba. McAffe is unable to offer something that will not work properly and Toshiba will also offer good additional software. There must be a lot between the two companies.
My personal opinion is that there must be a problem with this add on my existing McAfee subscription. I have my 100% sure that everything will be OK if you do regular registration and pay for the new and valid license. I'm also sure that Toshiba is following exact this opportunity and offer this software in a collision with McAffe to conquer new customers 100%.
My personal opinion is that this issue needs to be clarified with McAffe. What do we do Toshiba is to preinstall trial and built in recovery image.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D-11V and need to know how to restore it back to factory settings.
I tried F1 and F8.
Please can someone help me?
Yes, we can help you, but you should also use more than one phrase to describe your problem.
No one knows what OS you are currently using.
Do you use BONES that you got with your laptop?
Have you changed the structure of partitions?
You have created recovery DVD?
Is the installation of HARD drive recovery work if your laptop is always the factory settings.
When you press F8 at startup you can enter advanced startup options?
Repair my computer option is listed here?
Purchased by Satellite L450D-11V for daughter for Christmas, everything is okay until last Sunday, would not connect internet wireless via the hub. Work of hub thin like the pc works, laptop works also via a LAN cable. Wireless led flashes on then off turning the power on. Been told to check his dial-up, but there is no physical switch.
Any help will be appreciated as im not spirit from any computer!
There is no material on Satellite L450D switch but if you press FN + F9 you can toggle the WIFI connection.
Check this box!
If it doesn't work check your device manager is the wireless network card correctly list?
You can also try to update the WLAN driver
Hi, I have a Satellite L450D-11V which is only about 3 months, but left under the touchpad button has just broken. It has lost its spring and sank down in the case, so it is now off. Still, it works but not very well and clearly needs repair.
My question is is it useful to open the case to see if something has slipped? The manual does not cover this, but it seems that it can be opened by removing the screws from the case under. My only concern is that I don't want to move something then not be able to re - assemble! A House would be obviously preferable to ship from Toshiba and be without it for a week.
Has anyone else had a problem with the touchpad buttons break after a short period of time?
This is typical warranty issue and even thinking laptop open on your own.
At first you do not have manuals maintenance with an exact description of how to do this and this action may void the warranty.
Contact service, explain the situation and ask how long they need for repair.
Model: Satellite L450D - 13G
I just ugraded to 8.1 Windows of Windows 8 and now at the start of desktop support and refreshing continues, so I can't do anything.
As far as I can see, is that the file system keeps from (explorer.exe).
Someone at - he experienced this? Any help would be much appreciated as I can see no way that to restore it to Windows 7 with my Toshiba recovery disc.
Fortunately someone Toshiba reads these forums and has an answer.
First you need to know that win 8.1 on this Satellite L450D series isn't officially supported, and that means this laptop of the manufacturer does not guarantee that these BONES would work properly.
However, I put t see serious reasons why 8.1 Win should not work properly.
In my opinion, something was wrong during the upgrade. To resolve this issue, you must repair the system.
Press the power button on the point 8.1 of Windows (via charms bar) and hold down the SHIFT key when you click on the button to restart. Then the next screen should appear and you may choose to solve the problems.
In advanced options, you can try some options such as auto repair, System Restore, and others
My parents bought their first computer - L450D-11V.
He started upward, but asked for a password. Helpline of the retailer was no use for them, so they phoned obedient daughter (me). I downloaded the manual, but it simply follow the instructions on the screen.
Anyone who bought this model recently can tell me how to go beyond that?
What password you mean exactly?
The password of the BIOS?
The HARD drive password?
The Windows password?
Are you sure that you don't l t set or another?
Anyway, normally a password should t be resolved on first use. You can contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys come off well each password.
My Satellite L450D not find or connect to wireless networks. I tried to connect my laptop in various places where I know that wireless connections are available, but it keeps prompting me to use an ethernet cable.
Any help or advice would be most appreciated as has happened for the last 6 months or more.
If your laptop can not find any WLAN in your area, then you must check WLAN card.
Open the Device Manager and check if the WLAN card is listed and installed properly.
Wireless network card is enabled? Use the key combination FN + F8 to toggle WLAN card.
Can you also tell us what OS you use and don't use original Toshiba preinstalled OS or your own installation?
I just bought my L450D-11V a week ago. I noticed today that power led (indicator on the power button / stop) does not respont or act even when I put a computer to sleep. According to the manual, it should blink orange and white in other conditions. I don't know why its not just do not at all. The battery seems fine and is in charge.
Somone would please shed some light on this problem because otherwise I will have to replace as soon as possible.
What this means you only have problems with the status LED s and everything else works correctly?
Are you sure that this laptop is in sleep mode
I'm unable to start Windows. I pressed f8 and tried all options. I tried the Startup Repair which just goes to a black screen. I tried the product recovery disc, and I just went to a black screen with an arrow. I have my own recovery disc I made last month, that does not work either.
Any help would be appreciated.
(The trouble started after an error I think it was a problem with wmv.dll?) I saw the message briefly so my memory is perhaps faulty)
Enter the Bios (f2 at startup) to check if the hard drive is recognized
My daughter has this laptop and lost features Wi - Fi during January 2010. I downloaded the latest BIOS and WLAN drivers, but the device is still missing in Device Manager. BIOS has active WLAN.
The laptop is running Windows 7, and the device is a Realtek RTL8191SE onboard.
I'm assuming that a windows update has disabled this as it already had no problems - works fine via ethernet cable.
When starting laptop, the wireless light comes on but goes off then once Windows is used.
It seems that there is a similar problem to others - I do not want to reinstall OS because I'm assuming that the updates of windows will do the same again.
Any ideas - Toshiba problem or problem of Windows 7?
About the disappeared WLAN device, you must check this thread:
So make sure that your WLAN device is activated correctly.
Have you tried with the factory settings?
