Satellite L450D PSLY5E freeze during the BIOS update - now does not turn on
Hi guys,.
I have a Satellite L450D. I recently tried (unfortunately) update the BIOS after a clean installation, because the FN key no longer working to bring up the toolbar.
Winphlash program froze near the end and the system remained frozen for a good half-hour. The only way out was to remove the battery (as I know in any case).
Now, the system will light with battery in or out and plugged in. I guess I've damaged the hard drive or the card mother or something.
Is it possible to fix? Or is it?
Thank you very much for your help.
BTW - I know now not to update the BIOS unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary and well advised.
Joey
> I guess I've damaged the hard drive or the card mother or something.
The disk HARD isn t damage but the Rom module where the BIOS is stored was not flashed properly.
I guess that this happened because the flash procedure was interrupted.
I'm not sure if this can be fixed perhaps the service guy could flash the ROM module with special disc of crisis of the BIOS.
I keep fingers crossed

FredHello
I would not recommend to download and install the BIOS on Toshiba Canada website!
As far as I know your laptop was designed for the European market and you should always use the driver, BIOS of the Toshiba site European and tools! But I agree with dnf666. If the laptop works properly it s not necessary to update the BIOS!
And note: the bad BIOS or bad BIOS can damage the module ROM!On the Toshiba page, you will find a teaching how BIOS should be updated on several models of laptops!

(Redirected) Aurora 4 updated BIOS update now does not start
Hi all, I just formatted my PC installed fresh Windows 8.1. Downloaded the Aurora Panel and then noticed that there was a Bios Update recommended A3 to A11.
He told me that I had to switch to A5 first, so I downloaded and it installed fine self. It was then restarted and since then his do nothing.
No beeps, no display just the fans inside the base unit turning speed hyper and generally strong
I left for 30 minutes and still made no difference.
After that, I unplugged everything from the back of the pc. tried again and he still didn't fight with the fans care.
Scratched inside the base unit and also tried to clear the CMOS and removed the battery and still no boot and load fans
Is that all you guys you suggest I can do?

Hello
I think that in this case you must go to an authorized service provider. If the laptop freeze during the BIOS update module ROM needs to be reflashed.
On the Toshiba site, you can search nearest ASP and download all the drivers. Check this box:

Hello
Make sure you have the latest network adapter drivers fron toshiba
http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp
and if windows update is at the origin of the problem change how to get updates to uncover the problem update
When you have found the issue, a right click on it then invited uac then hide

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

but I fear that you may be taken in this GPU issue described by butz in post #13 here:

You can try to switch between GPU and CPU by pressing Ctrl / Cmd + E, or you try disabling GPU performance by clicking on the icon of the rocket in the bar of the App, or on the top of the menu bar, deselect the box Performance GPU. You may also uncheck performance GPU in your preferences.

Satellite Pro A200 - question on the BIOS update
I have a Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7E) with Windows Vista and XP that have been installed recently.
In the driver of Toshiba page (BIOS update) says:"This Bios is only compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista!"
(1) should I update my BIOS (1.4) or it'll be a problem for my windows XP?
(2) anyone has try?
(3) is there documentation on the BIOS updates (bug fixes, etc.)?
Hello
I will try to be very short with answers:
1. If you use Windows XP Home edition on your laptop have BIOS update with the version 5.30
2 this version of BIOS is available for days and it is possible that many people already tried. By the way: until Toshiba out something that is tested and verified.
3. Unfortunately there is documentation about bugs and patches, but the fact is that Toshiba has designed the 5.30 version to support the features of Windows XP Home edition on the models of laptops designed VistaGood bye

Satellite A300 - after the BIOS update I can not install two OS
Hello everyone:
I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-247 with Windows Vista Home Premium.
Then I formatted it and divided the hard (320 GB) into 6 partitions and installed Windows Vista and Windows XP on drive C to drive D after having changed the SATA controller mode in the BIOS for compatibility. The computer worked well with 2 operating systems. However, when I updated the BIOS to version 1.9, two operating systems stop working and one of them can be installed: XP can be installed when SATA controller mode is placed on compatibility and Vista can be installed only when the SATA is changed to AHCI.
Is there is no explanation of what past? And can I install operating systems 2 together again?
Thank you
Hello
First of all, I doubt that this has something to do with the BIOS update. I think that after the BIOS update HARD drive mode has been changed from AHCI to compatibility and therefore the OS didn't start.
Anyway, in compatibility mode you can install Vista and XP without the SATA drivers. This should t be a problem.
But do you know the difference between compatibility and AHCI? AHCI mode is faster and therefore I would recommend this mode.
Like you said Vista you can already install in AHCI mode and for XP, you need Intel Storage Manager. This package includes the SATA drivers you need and here is a step by step guide to use these drivers:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htmLast but not least, you can install 2 OS. You can do what you want! ;)

Satellite (Satego) P100 - Bug in the Bios - 3D - games is not possible!
_Hello _
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satego (= Satellite) laptop P100-491.
Unfortunately the version of bios 4.7 installed Toshiba repair service, after that I can't play games in 3D without solid fps drops! This is the common problem with the satego P100 class.
* The most recent bios, version 4.7, is a failure once again! *
So I looking after a newer version, but right now, I still suck.
* Toshiba Service is not able to solve this problem! Maybe they could give me a bios older without this bug, is - it possible? *
What should I do?
(Is there anyone with an older version, for example 4.5, who could give it to me?)
Hello
I read somewhere in the forum that an update of the graphics card driver should help you
