Satellite L450D upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10

Yesterday, I downloaded the Windows 10 (64 bit) upgrade after checking to make sure that my laptop is compatible and eligible.

I downloaded the upgrade on my machine (not a USB - could be the mistake that I did there?) and started the upgrade which seemed to go well.

He restarted at the end of installation and came up with a screen saying that the BCD could not be found (error 0xc000000f) and don't show this screen at startup. I have the Toshiba recovery disc and put it in the machine, however it does not give an option to repair, just reformat the partition and reinstall Windows 7. The only thing I have on the machine is about 11 GB of photos which I'm desperate not to lose because they are my little boy.

The data partition (drive D :) has a number of records on this subject, with the last of 2013 as I haven't used the phone as much as I'm mainly a Mac user at home now. The pictures would be possibly recorded on this partition as part of the Toshiba backup feature? If so then I'll be happy to reformat and reinstall Windows, but of course, I don't want to do if they aren't there I can't really lose these pictures.

Happy to provide more information if necessary.

Help, please.

Thank you

Norm

Did you also check if your phone model is supported for Win10 (Toshiba specification)? Probably not, right?

Recovery image is for a clean installation of recovery and has nothing to do with the repair of the BONE, especially not with the Win10 most recent. Using the recovery disk you can reinstall the original recovery image only and start using your laptop with factory settings again. Using the recovery disk that all your saved data can be deleted.

To save your order, you can remove the HARD drive and connect it as external device to the other PC and copy all your data (backup). After having done that, put it and reinstall original recovery using recovery disc image.

  • Satellite A505 - upgrade Windows 7 does not start

Received the Toshiba update disc and the upgrade wizard identified 6 Toshiba components that are not compatible, or for which Windows has no information (Cyberlink, configfree, disc creator, utility eco, face recognition, region Select utility of Internal Modem).

Update to Windows 7 never run and I guess I should do something with these 7. However, the Toshiba site, I see that many of them ARE most perceive version and some have no updates.

Should I just delete these and try the update?

    Hello

If the upgrade wizard shows that these versions are not compatible with Windows 7 you should remove. An upgrade to Windows 7 n t would be possible otherwise.

I put t know what Satellite A505 you exactly, but on the European Web site most of the tools and drivers for Satellite A500 are already available for Windows 7.

  • Satellite L450D not start - think usb device is connected

Hello. I have a portable satellite L450D running Windows 7, which will not start. It gets to the loading of the windows with the windows logo page, but it will not go beyond this point.

I tried repairing the system, and that tells me that a device is always connected to the laptop. I think it's maybe my phone, I had connected by usb last week. The usb cable is removed physically but the laptop obviously thinks that it is still connected.

I'm passed through different service options - system repair, System Restore, restore the last good config, boot into safe mode but nothing seems to work.

Ive tried to connect the phone while the laptop is trying to start and then disconnect it but still no luck. The laptop still think that the phone is connected.

Ive not tridd remove the battery from the laptop, as it's apparently quite difficult.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance

    Hello

I would recommend you check the boot order in the BIOS.
Go to the BIOS by pressing F2 by turning on the device.
Now, press F9 to get the default settings and save the changes press F10.
Also check if you can disable the legacy USB if it s is not available, ignore this tip.
Now, restart the laptop and test if it would boot from the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L450D-11V to 10 Windows upgrade

Try to download W7 SP1 upgrade by Toshiba or Microsoft. The two tell me what follows: -.

    Unsupported product

The product key you have entered seems to be the software that was preinstalled on a device. Contact the manufacturer of the device for soft recovery options.

Here are the details of the computer: Satellite L450D-11V

Yes, the W7 software was preinstalled. Toshiba has never provided a disk.
How to download Windows 7 Service Pack 1?

Toshiba does not provide any records... you must create this disk using the preinstalled software called Toshiba recovery creator middle...

This tool creates the recovery media that allows to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings...
The system is already enabled and requires no button...

If you have own OS, you need a valid key of Ms.

  • Satellite L450D - 13G - problem starting Windows 8 to 8.1

    Model: Satellite L450D - 13G

I just ugraded to 8.1 Windows of Windows 8 and now at the start of desktop support and refreshing continues, so I can't do anything.

As far as I can see, is that the file system keeps from (explorer.exe).

Someone at - he experienced this? Any help would be much appreciated as I can see no way that to restore it to Windows 7 with my Toshiba recovery disc.

Fortunately someone Toshiba reads these forums and has an answer.

    Hello

First you need to know that win 8.1 on this Satellite L450D series isn't officially supported, and that means this laptop of the manufacturer does not guarantee that these BONES would work properly.

However, I put t see serious reasons why 8.1 Win should not work properly.
In my opinion, something was wrong during the upgrade. To resolve this issue, you must repair the system.

Press the power button on the point 8.1 of Windows (via charms bar) and hold down the SHIFT key when you click on the button to restart. Then the next screen should appear and you may choose to solve the problems.
In advanced options, you can try some options such as auto repair, System Restore, and others

I want to upgrade to Windows 10 but so far I have not seen the download, it's because of the shell of Toshiba or I don't need more patience?

Normally you should see a 10 Windows upgrade notification in the taskbar, but there is also another option to get the upgrade.

  • Driver installation problem Windows XP Home on Satellite L450D-11 t

I bought a laptop SATELLITE L450D-11 t with windows 7 and I want to use a USB stick for internet, but it requires a previous version of the operating system.
So I installed windows xp, but on this site, it is not all drivers (motherboard, video, audio, network) compatible.

Analysis of the situation, I found the driver for audio on the Realtek site but on the mother/video card driver, I have a few problems:
the AMD 780 G chipset and the display hardware is an ATi Radeon HD 3200. On the AMD website, I found a package with all the necessary drivers, but during the installation of the system restarted itself each time I start the installation. I opened the event viewer to see if there is an error, but nothing.
I restarted the pc mode provvisional: he can't complete the installation, but it gives an error "Unable to open driver for tracking" or something like that.

Is there something wrong? I forgot to do something?
    Thank you

    Hello

Why you n t take an another USB compatible with Windows 7? In my opinion, it would be easier to reinstall the whole laptop but ok, it s your decision ;)

As far as I know the drivers on page AMD intended for office use only, so I think that they will not work on mobile chips. But maybe the only corrupt the downloaded driver files, then try to download again.

As I've already said, I would choose another USB key. This laptop is designed for the new Windows 7 and everything should work properly on the new operating system.

If you need very often that I recommend you do the shortcut on the desktop or the taskbar.
It is not important to have this shortcut in the world.

Open Windows Explorer and go to computer > C Windows > Program Files > Windows Media Player and you will find a file called wmplayer. Move it with the right mouse button on the desktop or task bar and create the shortcut (desktop) or PIN to the taskbar.

  • Satellite L450D: Windows 7 and Netgear connection problems

    Hello

Ive recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L450D but I can't connect to a netgear wireless account...
It works fine on another laptop and my toshiba can connect to an account of different eircom without problem...

What is the new Windows 7, which is not compatible with the server or do I have another problem!

    Thank you! :)

    Hello

What you mean with Netgear wireless account exactly? Do you mean the router Netgear WLAN?

Normally, you can connect to each WLAN router. It makes no difference which manufacturing, you have the router but factory settings are different, this means that some routers have DHCP and static IP addresses, for example. I think you should check the TCP/IP configuration and update the WLAN driver.

Check for an update WLAN Portal: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

    Good luck! :)

I was wondering if there is anyway to downgrade my current Windows 7 to Windows XP...

    Thank you guys

    Hello

I checked the website and Toshiba Satellite L450D, it only shows the drivers for Windows 7.

Of course, you can install Windows XP, but in this case you need to collect the drivers on external Web sites because Toshiba provides only Windows 7 drivers.
To find the drivers for Windows XP you should ask Google, perhaps you can find some drivers that they will work.

But I m wondering you want to downgrade to XP. In my opinion windows 7 works quite well and I m pleased to new OS from Microsoft.
