Satellite L50-B-281 - Boot Failure with Win 7 installation disc

HY everybody,

I have a problem I hope you could help me with.

I bought a satellite L50-B-281 boneless, sibce I have a W7 license available.

The L50 will not identify any bootable media, I present to you. I always get the message:

boot failure: an appropriate digital signature not found.
one of the files on the boot selrcted device was rejected by the secure startup feature

I tried to download a new copy of W7 of MS, he engraved on a DVD and tried to start, but it doesn't work anymore.

On Google I found I shoul change the start mode, but the UFEI is gray in the BIOS and cannot be changed.

You have any ideas how I can install W7 on the laptop?
Thank you
Haegarhorrib

Sometimes he DEBRABANT just to talk.
I just found the solution.
Disable startup secure in the BIOS, then set it to UEFI the other thing.

    Hello.

I have a toshiba Satellite A200-1ax and uses it for Vista when I got it.
I've got rid of the operating system and to install XP, thous install BIOS update for XP.
I recently installed Win7 and everything is good. The only problem I have is with video files.

Everything I look at is very grainy.
I installed codecs and the catalyst for Win7 beta and the thing got a little better. Always rasterized.
But the HD video files don't work at all. It's the same as having a video card that does not support HD.
    Audio shopping before the video.

I have not changed anything with the BIOS.

The problem may be there? Can I update the BIOS for vista?

Windows 7 is not official on the market it s still in version beta and I think it contains many bugs at the moment
It would be really interesting to know if the same videos will work perfectly with win XP or Vista.

  • Satellite U400-R12 - where do I find the Win XP installation disc

I have Stellite U400-R12 with Windows Vista preinstalled and that you want to switch to Windows XP because it is very slow now.

    Where the installation disc?

    Thank you

    Are you kidding me?

If you want to install a clean Windows XP, then you must buy it.
You can use an original CD of Microsoft Windows XP to such a facility.

On the European driver Toshiba page, you can find some Windows XO drivers for some U400 laptop models.

  • Re: Satellite L40 PSL48E: can I create a partition Vista installation disc

    Hello

My Satellite L40 PSL48E came with a Vista recovery partition.
As I despise Vista I bought a replacement drive and installed a new hard drive and installed XP pro.
I retained the original drive in case I've never had a claim under warranty.

Now, I find that, because of work, commitments, I occsionally use the despised Vista trash and wonder if it is possible to create a partition on the original disc installation disc so tha ti can create a system dual boot on my new drive.

I am very reluctant to BUY a new Vista CD, since I already have a perfectly legal copy on a disk, which I am not using and I'll use it only rarely for this commitment to work.

    Any information received with gratitude

    Thank you Ron

Hmm. If you have a HARD drive recovery option, then a complete image has been placed on the HARD drive and generally all cell phones with HARD drive recovery option is supported by a tool called TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator Toshiba.

With this tool, you can create a Vista recovery DVD If the OS Vista, have been damaged, you can also try to start the computer by pressing the F8 key.
This would allow an advanced boot menu.
Here you must choose repair computer

But note; This option is available only on laptops with HDD Recovery

    See you soon

  • OEM key with a retail installation disc?

I have a laptop IBM hard drive failed, so I bought a new on Newegg and went to reinstall Windows XP Pro (which I think origionally a SP1) using the button on the bottom of the laptop. This particular laptop is several years old and I don't think I ever had the reinstallation disks as I get with my Dell. So I used a retail installation CD of Windows XP Pro, SP2 (the real key is used on a different computer). in any case, the key to the back of my laptop does not work, so I used temporarily the key of the retail sales on the retail packaging so that I can complete the installation.

So I wondered why wouldn't my key at the bottom of the laptop. Is it because I used a retail installation disc, or perhaps because the original key was for XP Pro SP1, not XP Pro SP2? What should I do?

Yes, the problem is because you used a retail XP installation disc and product key on the sticker of the laptop is an OEM version. You probably could have called Lenovo and got a disc of recovery for very little money. Otherwise, you should have to install using a generic disc OEM (unbranded) which corresponded to the version that you had installed (Home, Pro, MCE) and the product key for the thumbnail of the laptop.

  • Need help with Win XP Installation on Satellite A200

    Hello

I tried to install Win XP on a new Satellite A200 - 1TJ model PSAE3, so I used the link that is given to me and downloaded the Intel storage utility Disk Manager. But it does not at all.

I did these steps so far:

-Insert the CD in Win XP (version 32 b) laptop, press F12 to boot from the CD and start the installation. After the installation has begun, I pressed F6.
-After a few seconds, Windows XP asked me for some externel drivers, I have inserted the floppy disk with the drivers in my external floppy drive, pressed in and chose the 82801 HEM / HBM SATA AHCI for my laptop. (Yes, it's the right one, I tried with the driver of another, similar, but it works with the first)
-Continue the Installation, Windows asked me to install Windows XP, press F8 to accept, and she continued.
-The window to the right controller appeared, I have chosen to format and create partitions, stop the installation and everything repeated while Win Vista is not your HARD drive, but the driver is installed.
-J' chose C:\ to install, press ENTER to accept and then the first Windows files had been copied on the HARD disk.

    - Then the installation stopped, asked me to insert the "Intel Storage Manager driver" to my floppy drive, in my opinion the right one was inserted, I pressed Enter to continue, but nothing has changed.

I just tried to use a WInXP unattended to pre-install the right drivers, but with this CD, the installation does not start. I also tried some drivers of Intel and Toshiba for the Intel Storage Manager, downlaoded all them and get to the disk, but it does not continue with the installation of Win XP.

    Maybe someone has another idea?

    You come in on this thread;
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=102243#102243

The Intel Matrix Storage Manager is the right driver, well, looks like you made a mistake.

You have formatted and created the partitions after the installation of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. Please don t format the HARD drive, because in this case, you will lose the SATA driver!

By the way; NLite software could help you to create a new XP and include the SATA drivers.

This laptop does not start, it gives just the message "no boot device - please reboot your system.

It looks like the partition table has disappeared.

There is no support of recovery, no recovery partition, I can access it on the hard drive and no Windows key.

How can I install windows on it?

Have tried to start while holding down the 0 key, but no luck.

This computer is TWO DAYS OLD!

According to specifications of the laptop, this machine was delivered with pre-installed Win8.1. Yes, there is no recovery media. For years, Toshiba and many other laptop manufacturers offer laptops without disk installation, but original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive, so if everything is OK you can start installation of recovery of the HARD disk image or create a recovery media that you can use for installing the OS.

If you get your laptop work again thanks to create this media. How this is described in the document s user manuals.

Recovery partition cannot disappear from the only one. to be honest, it's not clear to me what happens exactly with your laptop.

Start your machine and press F12 to get into the boot menu. There you should find option enter the configuration. Using this option, you will be able to enter the BIOS settings. Please check if the HARD drive is listed and recognized correctly. by default the BIOS settings and restart your laptop. What happens when you do this?

Satellite Pro P100 with Synaptics Touchpad, was now running Vista, Win 7 64 bit.

I installed a Synaptics Synaptics_v14_0_3_C_XP64_Vista64_Win7 driver - 64_Signed_default.exe that does not have this check box.

It works fine except that sometimes the Microsoft Mouse becomes works all the seconds that she or the touchpad to fight everyone. I have to disable the touchpad.
So the next time I turn. If I do so without a mouse, I can't use the touchpad until I plug the mouse, turn it back on, then disconnect the mouse.

    Thank you

    Hello

Try to install the Synaptics drivers and Alps touchpad page pilot European Toshiba.
Choose the touchpad Win 7 drivers out for a satellite L500 series.

By the way; the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 button combination. It is not necessary to have all the options if FN + F9 works very well.

  • Satellite L50-B-281 - WiFi Driver does not work

    Hello world

I have a problem that I can not find a solution

    I bought a L50-B-81, without BONES, because I have a free license of W7.

I used the Driver download for Toshiba to look for the drivers.

For my model (PSKTCE), I got two drivers for Broadcom and Aatheros one.

The Broadcom Installer did nothing so I guess, I don't have hardware Broadcom.
The only installed Atheros Bluetooth driver.

Is there an easy way to determine what hardware is inside?

Device Manager, where the works is not the devices are marked by this triangle warning sign, said he does not know the manufacturer.

    Thank you very much

  • Satellite Pro U400 - Vista boot failure

My 2nd nine Satellite Pro U400 (first a HARD drive failed after 1 week!) now does not start on Vista.
Works very well for 4 weeks with upgrade original Vist Basic to Ultimate and Office 2007.

Today on the switch on the Toshiba bar logo (with go to Setup etc.) started then replaced by Microsoft 'bar', then replaced by the arrow of the Mouse/touchpad.
Mobile arrow on the screen of the mouse, but then nothing else, boots.

Tried all modes of security and same problem.

Ideas to please or do I have a 2nd 'lemon '!

Hmm. I don't know if this problem could be related to upgrading from Vista Basic to ultimate, but nothing is impossible m.

I think the HARD drive is not the problem as you can still start the OS startup.
OK, the OS crashes, but if the HARD drive would be dysfunctional, then you should be able to see the 'bar' of Microsoft.

So for me, it looks like something wrong with the operating system and therefore the use of the recovery CD would be desirable.

Using the recovery CD would format the HARD drive, but unfortunately I really t see any other possibilities for the laptop running again.

    Good luck

  • Windows XP system restore Boot Failure with new hard drive

HP Touchsmart IQ546t running Windows XP Home Edition

    Here is my story:

A few months ago my PC was informing me that a hard disk failure is imminent and how can I back up my data.

I was able to get most of the data backed up and has continued to use the PC.

    Finally, the hard drive failed.

Not being not able to find system restore disks, I ordered a set of HP.

In the meantime, I was able to save the rest of my data using an external hard drive enclosure, a laptop and a backup disk.

I used system restore discs to erase the hard drive and restore the operating system.

After the successful restoration, I was able to boot my PC and use it for a few days, but again became imminent hard disk failure message. Yet once again, the hard drive failed and I was unable to use it.

I decided to replace the hard drive, thinking I could install and use the system restore disks to get the installed operating system.

I followed all the instructions, I find and could not start the machine to the point he will recognize the recovery disc. I receive a message that tells me to insert a bootable media.

Does anyone know what I'm missing here?

Is there something I can try to get the hard drive to boot to the point he will recognize the recovery disk?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hello

OPS, sorry on this subject.  If the recovery discs are not recognized not so you act have a problem trying to get the new HDD to be restored.

Try the procedure below and see what happens.  View your results.

Cyberlink CD recovery for hard drives. When you created this CD, insert it into the system that fails to start, restart, and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Next, remove the CD and insert your first recovery DVDs.  Reboot the PC and go through the process of installing the operating system again.  If all goes well, it should install properly this time.

  • Satellite C50-A441 is pre-installed with Win 8.1 English language?

I did not get a straight answer on the microsoft forum, so I write here.

    The following product ([C50-A441 | http://www.toshibamea.com/ComputerProduct/4/Satellite_C50-A441/52956?pageid=4]) is advertised as 8.1 only language 64-bit (pre-installed).

I am currently based in the Middle East and asked the shop if the language is American English, but I don't have a clear answer and I don't want to buy a laptop with Arabic.

Is it possible to know if it is in American English (I'm not able to test before you buy...).

    Thank you very much.

The Satellite C50-A441 PSCGJV 009001AR has been preloaded with Toshiba image that contains the Windows 8.1 in Arabic.

  • Report Generation Toolkit failure with Win 7 and Labview 2013

Recently, I had my computer updated to Windows 7 and now I see a problem with the generation of reports (version 2013) tool when you work with Excel files.  If I try to launch the new Report.vi with the selected report type Excel I get error-2146777998.  Do the same with the chosen word finally opens Word, even if it takes 10 seconds, but it does not generate an error.  Selection of Standard or HTML report also run without error.

I studied him this error on line, but I continue to find .NET and c# forums where everything goes over my head. Anyone have any suggestions?

I found the solution to this error 2146777998 code source. There are two template files located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\templates\Report by the name of MSOffice_RGT_Template.dot and MSOffice_RGT_Template.xlt.  The problem came down to these models been corrupted somehow in the new facility. As soon as I replaced the versions from another machine, the problem disappeared.

As a side note, I discovered the problem by kicking off the MS Office report Express vi and out came a much clearer message aimed me models. Not very well why this message is not included in the different Subvi on the pallet, but life is a mystery.

  • Can I change the HARD drive integrated on my Satellite L50-B-281?

    Hello

is it possible to change the HARD disk integrated in an SSD? Must be a SATA3 SSD?
Or it is also possible to install an additional HARD/SSD drive? For example the HARD drive now integrated as a data harvester and a SSD as a system drive?
Or the DVD player can be exchanged for one SSD?

    Greetings!

HARD drive can be transformed into SSD and it is the best option, but according to user manuals (to the attached picture) your laptop is not separate from the cover of HARD drive in the lower corner so upgrade disk HARD only is not supported for laptop owners and should be done by authorized personnel only.

To have full access to the disk HARD lower cover must be removed completely, and if you do it on your own it will void the warranty.
In my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. This can be done quite quickly and I don't think that it would be expensive.

  • Satellite A100 - 147 Compression file error with the product recovery disc

I have Toshiba A100-147, just out of warranty. I tried to recover with a disk, disk unpack to 69% and then I get the message "ERROR READING OF COMPRESSION FILE (1). I have no choice but to click OK in the error message box, and then quit the recovery as she stops running.

Any help would be extremely welcome.

    Hello

It looks like a problem with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Have you tried to repeat this procedure?

What of the HARD drive? You format the HARD drive using an original CD of XP MS?
It s very interesting if a format of HARD drive could allows to perform the installation of the OS since the Toshiba Recovery CD.

I remember that something like this has happened on my laptop s friend was not able to recover the operating system using the Toshiba CD. Finally, we found that some sectors on the HARD disk has been corrupted. Format drive HARD allowed integer and my friend was able to install the image of Toshiba.
    It's worth a try ;)

But of course, this error could occur because of the faulty recovery CD.
