Satellite L50-B931 - charger plugged, 0% battery

Hey. I used my laptop for over a year now. I recently upgraded to Windows 10. The problem is quite common, I think, but I can't seem to solve it on my own. My charger is plugged in, but the battery level is 0% available, hip, charge.

Help me with this problem please!

If you remove the AC adapter, the laptop still on? Or it will stop?

Maybe try a Windows refresh or Reset to remove the Win8 drivers.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 23d 9.20% battery wear level in one week

A week ago, I bought a Toshiba SATELLITE L50-B-23d (part number: PSKTNE-00100YCE). I checked the level of the battery (PA5185U-1BRS) with 3 different software (AIDA64, Batterycare, CPUID HWmonitor) and they show the level of 9.20% battery wear. Yesterday, in fact it was 8.25%. Software AIDA64 reports also charge 10 cycles. Is it normal to 10 cycles = 9.20% wear level? You have no explanation, advice or it seems that the battery is defective in factory? I can always return the product to the seller.

    Thank you

    Hello

Short answer: do not consider these values at a point too early.

A: Please understand that the batteries are quite similar in their behavior. They are not normally ON or OFF, they are more or less responsible.
This 'level of wear' is (currently) a pretty bad description of the values behind it.
Level of wear is in fact simply a mathematical calculation based on internal values of the battery; rated capacity and capacity max.
Nominal capacity is the amount of energy that the producer wrote in the firmware that the battery is supposed to be able to hold.
Max capacity, what is actually possible to push in the battery.

Remember that the battery is pretty similar - this to say that taking a bunch of packages of any shelf, you will get different results.
They will of course be reasonable proximity of the indicated capacity, but may not be on the exact number.

So something like "wear the level" is simply the difference between design and individual.

Now, rushing ahead in time, you find that the maximum capacity will deteriorate. After months and years, it makes sense to talk about level of wear well.

So, don't bother on this subject now. And no - 10 cycles will not be equal 9.20% wear indicator level, 20 percent, matching the level of wear 18.4%.
This is not how these things work.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 19 p - 0% battery and not charging

    Hello
Since this morning, I have problems with my laptop battery.

Even with the domain controller is connected, the suspension of the battery at 0% not charging and after a few seconds, Windows goes to sleep by itself.
I tried to start Windows in safe mode and the battery seems to work without even plugged DC so at 0%.

Now I use the laptop without the battery and only with DC power.

Is there something I can do to solve the problem?

    Thank you!

Try to uninstall the ACPI compatible control method battery.
This can be found in the device-> battery Manager

Once the compatible ACPI control method battery driver disappeared (uninstalled), click on the 'Action' menu at the top of the window and select Scan for hardware changes.

This should reinstall the removed driver...

But if it does not solve the problem of battery, keep off compatible ACPI control method battery.

  • Satellite L755 - S5349 - charger plugged sign s/o

    Hello Toshiba Support Forum,

Model as said in the title: L755 S5349

I tried looking everywhere on the internet a solution could not find an and I've tried a few things myself last thing im going to try is to replace the DC Jack for a new.

I decided to post this maybe one of you have come across this or knows how to fix this could really make me money :)

    First of all the problem:

-Lightweight charger was working say about 3-4 days ago however, I had to put it in a certain position for example in a book so that it had a leverage and may have had effect twist the wire to make it firm and then the light came. Suddenly its stopped working that I ordered a new new battery adapter and the new CC must come tomorrow if all goes well.

-I'm totally confused of what it could be. My thoughts are wrong with the DC somethings Jack since the laptop was working fine when the load point stopped working there was a battery of 100% full, so I plugged in and used the eco mode until the battery died. The adapter works however now never no matter what I do. And I even checked the new adapter still does not work I checked the new adapter with a converter on one of my new laptops [family members] and it works perfectly fine I also tried to load without the battery still no luck.

Any help will be really appreciated.

    Thank you

    Kind regards
    Shivam Patel

You said that you had to put the Jack in position of some in order to get the work of AC adapter.
So I think that there could be a bad connection between the connector and the motherboard or with the CC itself.

If you are sure the new adapter AC doesn t hurt to work and if the adapter works in connection with other laptops, it must certainly be a problem with the laptop.

  • Satellite L50-A-111 - 0% battery power

    Hello.

Today while playing a game my Toshiba Satellite L50-A-111 stops and when I turned it back on, I closed the game and on the desktop, I noticed that the battery was at 0%, I checked the AC and everything was connected and after one minute it off again. So after a few attempts, I noticed that the latter always follows this behavior:

    1. when I turn on it return _with HQ power on_, the battery is at 0% available (plugged in, does not support) and _it will stay 5-minutes_ and just before turns out it will change in (plugged in, load) for like 15 seconds and then turns off.

    2. at the time unaware of _it the "DC IN / battery indicator ' is white (indicates the AC adapter is connected and the)
battery is fully charged.) 5 minutes and again for 15 seconds, it will change to amber (indicates the AC adapter is plugged in and the battery is being charged) and he repeats this behavior in the cycles of 5 minutes.

3 and this is the most bizarre situation, when I turn it back _with ignore AC power, the battery is at 0% and it stays on until it's really discharge the battery (I only did once)

    What I ve try:
change management the power to never turn off the power/sleep, did not.
Uninstall "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" and install it again (did not work)

I did not remove/replace the battery because I'm afraid of messed up, and I don't really know who will solve the problem.

Do you know what the problem is or what I can do to keep after more than 5 minutes?

    Thank you in advance.

Hmmmmmm... It is not easy to say what the problem is. I don't know if this can somehow help but try to reset your machine. How do models with main battery sets, which you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm

Problem is that these questions can be tested with additional drums on most of the models of laptop but unfortunately your machine has set the main battery. If the problem will always be there do not open your machine. What you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country, to explain the situation and ask for help.

  • My Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q turns off suddenly while on battery

    Hello guys and girls,

I have a problem for some time that I don't really know how to solve.
    In November 2013, I bought in Poland, where I live, a nice TOSHIBA SATELLITE L50 - A Q - 16 (PSKJNE).
On this computer, even if something is constantly causing me problems: * very often the power stops so that all of a sudden on battery *, even if the 'TOSHIBA PC health monitor' app that monitors the temperature of the processor, also shows no sign of criticality.

However, there is something going wrong: thanks to this software, I noticed that whenever I unplug the charger, the fan speed is zero, apparently put the endangered cooling system. And I know in the manual that if the temperature of the processor reached a critical threshold, the system stops automatically.

Anyway is to solve the problem to not stop suddenly, making me lose data then on the battery?
Maybe turn on the speed of the fan, somehow, so that this mode?

Thanks to everyone for your contribution, in advance.

    Kind regards

    Matteo

If you unplug the AC adapter, the system will pass the plant (it depends on the configuration of power plan). Check the Windows power plan settings to see what configuration will be used in battery mode.

This power plan can be configured and all the settings are located in the advanced power settings.
I recommend you to check the mode of cooling and if necessary to use the same settings that are used in the power management when the laptop is connected to the power supply.

  • Toshiba Satellite L50 - A battery load but remains at 0%

    Hello!

For the last two weeks, I had problems with the battery of my Satellite L50.-a. It remains at 0%, although it will load. If I remove the power adapter, the computer continues to operate for a period of time. Now, here's the odd part. If the laptop has been in charge for a while, it stops. If I remove the power adapter it will start again and show always is at 0%, but now it works for about 1.5 hours before the battery is actually empty.

So I use my laptop without power until it stops, then I charge for a few hours and then it stops and we start over.

Someone has an idea that I could do to fix this?

    I tried:

    • It loads from one day to the next without using the laptop
    • Several drivers update
    • Disconnect the battery, start with power supply adapter, stop and reconnect the battery

    Hello

Have you found a solution? I have a similar problem and cannot run the laptop with the power connected.
I have a warning message that the battery needs to be replaced and if I do that it does not start even if the replacement battery has been charged.

  • Satellite L50-B-1 q 0 - removal battery question

    Hi, I bought the product Satellite L50-B-1 q 0.
With astonishment, I found that * the battery is not removable *.
    I always knew that when you use a portable computer, you must remove the battery;
Then, I wanted to know if this product has a new technology where the battery life is not affected by the use of the computer when it is connected to the power adapter.

    Thank you.

    > I always knew that when you use a portable computer, you must remove the battery;
For a long time I use Toshiba portable computers, but I never read these tips in the documents of Toshiba I got new machines.
I have never done this in the past and I never will in the future. From time to time, you can use your laptop with battery only and charge again.

You are right. Your laptop battery can not be removed, but there is no reason to panic. Sink the battery and charge it at least once a month.

  • I use my MacBook Air as a desktop computer. Should I leave the charger plugged all the time or should I drain the battery and then recharge? What is the best for the battery?

I use my MacBook Air as a desktop computer. Should I leave the charger plugged all the time or should I drain the battery and then recharge? What is the best for the battery?

Keep the computer plugged in whenever possible.

If you keep the computer always connected, make sure that at least twice a month

Run it on battery until battery charge level falls to about 40-50%.

Please don't completely discharge the battery. Discharge the battery completely will reduce wear and tear on the battery.

Citing at the bottom of the linked article.

"The question is often asked:" should I disconnect my laptop from the mains when not in service? Under normal circumstances it should not be necessary because as soon as the lithium-ion battery is full, a properly functioning charger will stop the load and load the pad will only engage when the battery voltage drops to a low level. Most of the users do not remove AC power, and this practice is safe. »

  • How can I disable the battery on my Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM?

    Hi friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM. In this model, the battery may not be withdrawn. I would like to know if I can turn off the battery in order to preserve the life of it.

Please help me with this question. It is important for me :)

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marta

Unfortunately, this option is not available and you can't do that. to be honest I understand, but imagine you have an important work on your machine and suddenly power is interrupted for any reason any (disabled battery). In this case, you could lose your work.

In this case the battery is a kind of backup power.
Another thing is that the batteries used on laptops of today are not the same that we had 15 years before.
Don't think about it and have a fun with your machine. ;)
