Satellite L500-01u012 - problems of audio output

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-01u012 and I have problems with the audio output.
When I plug a headphone or audio output in the audio output port, it does not neutralize the internal Laptop speakers.
It's really annoying me and I wonder if there is a way around this?

I have windows 7 Home premium 64-bit sp1 with all the latest patches to update, and I tried to remove, restart and then reinstalling the driver several times without success
I also got the image of the plant cell to try to fix that and its still nto work.

I downloaded the drivers from the toshiba support site, but they did not help

Hello

Is this something new or you have noticed this problem in the past too?
Generally by default the internal speakers should be turned off when you connect earphones.

I put t know what laptop do you have exactly (model number you wrote may not be the right) and what sound card is inside, but please check the audio options in the Panel.

Go to the Device Manager and in order to choose the hidden devices.
Now you should see all the devices that are available on this system.

Now go to the sound, video and game controllers and remove the Intel(r) High Definition Audio HDMI, audio Conexant high definition Smart, etc.

In system devices, remove the Microsoft UAA Bus driver for high definition.

    Now, restart the laptop.

After the new operating system reboot Windows should recognize all devices again.
    Check this box!

  • Satellite L500: WARNING: problem with cooling system message

    Dear Toshiba

Some may perhaps explain to me how that happens.

We have 2 x L500 computers laptops, one was bought and activated a day of July 2010 (Computer1)
The other was purchased 1 day later the same store and activated the same day - 1 day later (machine 2)

Yesterday machine 1 responded with the warning message, there is a problem with the cooling system - please turn the machine off and return it for service.

Machine 2 responded today with the exact same message, just after turning on after 4 hours OFF... an unusual situation say you or are - this sort of built in: service to generate the functionality?
I'm not convinced it's a stroke of luck and there is nothing wrong with a machine that I could see.

Anyway to reset every machine has solved the problem, see how long it takes to return.
As you may have guessed, two machines are out of warranty by a few months now.

If any of you have a similar problem, would be happy to hear from you.

    Kind regards

    Ernie

    Hello

One of my friends had the Satellite L500. As far as I know the laptop works pretty well.

I do not know if this message was created because of a software problem, but the laptop should automatically stops down if the cooling modules would not work properly and the temperature would goes up to a higher level of m

So I recommend watching the temp for the next time level and of course, you could get in touch with a Toshiba ASP in your country if notice plu temp or a hardware problem with the module cooling

The realteck controller does not show me almost any configuration option, is this normal?

Mate sorry but the message isn't clear enough.
What do you exactly do with Notepad and the speakers?
You speak of internal or external stakeholders?

The sound of s notebook (record and playback) can be configured in the control panel? sound. There, you will find the Read tab (lists all the devices as speakers, headphones) and tab (internal microphone, external microphone) record.

You must mark the device as default device, if you want to use.

  • Satellite L500 - several problems with Windows 7

    Hello

I bought a Satellite L500 with Vista as os. I upgraded to win 7 using the upgrade disc Toshiba that sent me. Since installing Windows 7, my laptop will freeze at any time.
    Ctrl-alt-del doesn't do anything.

My only option is to turn it off with the power button. I installed all the drivers available on the Toshiba site, but nothing helped. In addition, since installing Win 7 the FN key does not work, the touchpad does not work and the eco utility will not work. I have checked all the drivers that I can find and reinstalled, or tried to update. I watched the mouse settings and the pointing device, and this explains his work.

I think it is because I can not activate it with the FN - FN + F9 key. I cut the volume now with FN + ESC (couldn t a few days ago), I can use the FN key to sleep and lock the laptop, but the weak / brightness keys don't work. It seems that they only work up to F5.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon

    Hi joey,

You will find all the information in the event viewer Windows on this gel?

You should check the Device Manager for unknown devices or yellow exclamation. Maybe it's a driver of s problem.

In regards to the FN keys, you need to install Toshiba Value added Package, and Flash Cards Support utility. They are required for the FN keys and then you are able to enable/disable the touchpad (FN + F9).

Last but not least check Toshiba page for a version of Windows 7 Eco Utility.

  • Satellite L500 and problems with the Wi - Fi

    Hello people

I'll just throw my problem there.
First of all my details and information that can help me to help you!

Satellite L500 running windows 7 (note: same problems when installing Vista)
Latest drivers wireless as well as the latest drivers for everything.
My wireless router is 1 billion active voip 7000 series sound quite good for when I got it about 2 years ago and works well.

Basically, the problem is that the wireless on my Satellite L500 keeps dropping out. I m not more than 20 meters at most, right now I m 10 m with 1 wall in the way. I tried to make a website, and he says has fallen to either unable to find host connection.

However other computers laptops in the same room, same place at the same time has no problem at all. Has ever.
As soon as I'm in the same room as my router, it works again. Sometimes works if I stand right on the opposite wall.

So basically I m thinking my card wireless in my laptop is defective or simply not good?
Can u replace the card with another wireless? Maybe the Toshiba ones are just no good? I read so many problems with these cards Toshibas wireless...

Anyone have any ideas? I ran out of the info you need? I repost he's again in a day or two with the types of wireless devices in every laptop.

    Hello

For the moment, I doubt that your wireless network card is broken. Before Exchange you it you must also update your BIOS and not only the WLAN card driver. Two updates you need to download it from the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

I had a similar problem with my Toshiba laptop and WIFI connection. The problem was in the WLAN energy saving mode Windows power management. Here, you can also choose a mode for energy saving wireless network card. Turn it off, and then choose a maximum Performance.

Does anyone have an idea for a viable solution?

A little more info about your latest activities can be very useful.

  • New WLan for Satellite L500-01u012 card

The wifi card is dead in my toshiba satellite earlier this week, its out of warranty and toshiba shop wants $200 to replace it with a 2.4 ghz standard card.

I'm looking to upgrade to a card capable of 5 GHz in all cases.
I found a card that looks good. http://www.bigfootnetworks.com/killer-wireless-n-1103/
I wonder if my laptop will support it?

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L500-o1u012 and the old card was Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC card mini pcie half size.

    The description says:

+ Killer 1103 Wireless-N adapters are supported by two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), 3-Stream MIMO and IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards-based in a mini-PCIe half size format. +

So it s a mini-PCI card and in my opinion, the local network card device must be compatible theoretically

    Concerning

    Hello

Unfortunately, I can't explain what happened exactly with your machine. Maybe you have installed all the updates available (important and optional). Maybe the display driver has been offered as a driver in option.

In any case, what you can do now is follow:
-try to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore option
-Reinstall the display driver - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
-in the worst case, you can reinstall OS HARD drive recovery option (I hope it works)

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Re: Satellite L500 - crackling noise when audio plays

    Hi all

I bought a few weeks ago L500 (Windows 7 64-bit). Everything is fine except for the sound. 1 h or more after running computer, the speakers begin to produce a "cracking", "metal" noise when the audio is reproducible, regardless of the source (CD, system sounds, movies, MP3s...). It's just like there are hundreds of "micro-pannes". The same thing with the headphones. This seems also affect all media files, for example the length of 10-minute videos take 12 minutes or so play due to these micro-interruptions. The sound gets worse over time and gets normal once the system is rebooted, but a few minutes later the noise comes back.

I have all the latest Toshiba driver implemented to date, BIOS, LAN, sound cards, etc..

What can I do? Any idea will be welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I don't know much L500 series but creaking sound is annoying problem for A500 series. I think that a graphics card driver is a troublemaker. If your laptop is equipped with an nvidia graphics card, go to his site and update a Vga driver. In my case, it solved my problem. (B-)

  • Satellite P100-487: problem with audio drivers for Windows XP Home 3.11.0.51 - entered

    Hello

I have problem with this audio drivers 3.11.0.51. The problem is that the output works perfectly but there is no entry.

When can I expect from the good work on Toshiba support drivers?

My way to have entry and exit works well is: first install 3.11.0.51 drivers from Toshiba site to install Support Intel 3.14.0.50 and do not restart after the installation. It's hard because every time when I restart the PC I have to for this making begin.

Anyone have the same problem and found another job drivers?

    Thank you

    HI Supportneeded,

You gave me the trick with the driver to resolve the problem in the next restart.
And I replied to your thread Thursday evening at 20:30. Ask you Toshiba phone when we can expect new drivers. (I have a Satego P100-10F) I added a complaint of litte that Toshiba should also support a 'old' OS like XP. And after that at 21:00 the detachment was completely absent.

Anyway, I tested some drivers of other manufacturers and other Chipsetdrivers, still the same problem.
the sound with this material does not work on XP due to a rather bad.

Of course, toshiba brings out a new driver that will feature at the end of February, but now it is March and I see nothing. (stop: a new driver for Windows Vista is online since yesterday)
I had it installed on xp and the sound is completely down. Whether in - or output.

you already called toshiba support when they expect our problems?

    Greetings

  • Satellite L500 - some problems with the internal webcam

    Hello.

My L500-13v is a little over a year old, but from the beginning, I'm having a lot of the built in ' USB 2.0 webcam» Sometimes it works, more often, is not, sometimes, I try to open the camera app and it says "device is locked by another application" despite not using any other application in time. When I try it on Msn or other applications, I just either get a black screen or "no device connected". I also get a pop up saying "this device can operate more quickly if connected to a hi speed usb 2.0 port" so I wonder if Toshiba have connected the camera of 2.0 to a 1.0 port internally, (at the time I thought not usb 1.0 was even used.) In Device Manager, it lists six standard usb host controllers and only two controllers to improved host 2.0). I used to always get that when I take the computer off the sleep mode. However I always stop instead of sleep, but its still a very regular, even when I use the cam, it can suddenly gives me this message and then stops working. Recently, when I click to open ""Toshiba Webcam Application"I get a blue screen saying"irql not less equal"which according to me is a hardware error." and then it auto restarts.

This laptop is preinstalled with vista, the webcam using a microsoft driver. I contacted toshiba about this problem last year, but they only told me to install the application driver 'web cam' on their site which I had already tried in safe mode and normal mode, I do not know why they give just a standard INF file. Vista will automatically pick up their driver and continues to try to reinstall the microsoft one, I finally managed to install the driver of toshiba by manually choosing Select a driver from the list, unchecking, show compatable drivers and finding Toshiba and PanGu, but after that, I still have the same problem.

I hope that someone more knowledgeable than me can help me with this, thanks.

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest, I would also reinstall the webcam driver but maybe you did something wrong

So in your case I remove the current version of the webcam software and then restart your laptop. Now clean the registry using the freeware CCleaner tool which is a really nice tool to clean the system and delete the incorrect registry keys. After that, restart the computer and install the new software of the webcam of the official website of Toshiba.

Normally after this procedure your webcam should work properly again.
If this is not the case you should try a recovery facility, maybe something is blocking the the webcam driver who knows

  • Satellite P200 - interfering signal on audio output

    Hello!

I have an interfering signal on the audio out when the AC adapter is connected.
Same signal on my USB audio device, and also only when the adapter is plugged...
No idea how to stop this?

    Hi LiquidSkies_1,

Hmm... This means that you have audio signals via the internal and external speakers only if the AC adapter is plugged?
Well, you use original Toshiba AC adapter or a 3rd party one?

In my opinion it s more associated with the motherboard or power supply. It could be a grounding problem
