I installed all the drivers for 32 bit, but I can't get the drivers for the touchpad (synaptic) as the driver for the function keys. I tried the Toshiba web site from there downloading, but they do not work.

    Hey,.

    > but they do not work.
Why they don t work? Can you explain this?

Usually the Satellite L500 supports Windows 7 32 bit too and so you can download all the drivers and tools of Toshiba's official website:

From my experience, that the problems of characters double have been solved by BIOS updated.

  • Re: Satellite L500-1XJ - changed keyboard

    Bought a Satellite L500 - 1XJ 32-bit with Windows 7 second hand from a friend.
It worked perfectly until the Toshiba files were accidentally deleted.
Cannot find it anywhere, so I guess they have been permanently deleted.

I tried the restore without success.
Also the keyboard is now mixed up IE for the @ I have to use shift 2 instead of travel "."

    What can I do?

What Toshiba files do you mean exactly?
    Maybe Toshiba image files?

With regard to the problem of keyboard layout:
I guess that the language of the keyboard has been changed.

Usually, you can add and change the keyboard language in:
Panel-> clock, language and region-> region and language-> keyboards and languages-> change keyboards.

  • Satellite L500-1V1 what keyboard can use?

    Hello

I have to buy a new keyboard for my Toshiba L500-1V1.
Is could someone please tell me what keyboards are suitable for Toshiba L500-1V1?

I have to get it as soon as possible and it seems to be impossible to find an original Toshiba keyboard replacement here in Finland.

That's why I wonder if a few other brands to the keyboard (e.g. asus, acer, hp, samsung, lenovo) would be suitable for my computer because they are available in stores?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

Satellite L500 supports and is equipped with a standard A4 black + 10key keyboard.
Usually keyboards released for other series of laptop using the same model (of type A4 + 10key) must be compatible.

In addition, you can always order a compatible keyboard of authorized partner Toshiba in your country.

    Welcome them

    Hello

Go to the clock, language and region of the Panel. Then, in the menu keyboard and languages, choose Change keyboards. Now, to add English (United States). In my view, there is an English (United Kingdom) in your settings, you can delete it.

    Hello

Are you sure that the right settings has been selected in the Intel graphics and Media Control Panel?

In my opinion, you should check this:
Under general settings, it is necessary to choose: + scaling-> scale full screen +.

Here's a nice youtube video explaining this step:

  • Satellite L500 - keyboard idle after the mode 'sleep'

Satellite L500, Windows 7, keyboard become idle after waking up from his sleep. Restarting solves the problem.

    Help would be welcome please!

    Hey William,

That s odd, but in my opinion you should try a BIOS update. BIOS version latest for your laptop, you can download from the Toshiba page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But let me give you a little advice: update of the BIOS is always a bit risky so make sure that you are logged on as administrator. In addition, extract all the files from zip archive and close all programs running (also AntiVirus).

By the way: you use pre-installed Windows 7 in Toshiba or did you do your own installation of Windows?

  • Re: Satellite L500 - keyboard starts typing Giberrish

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help. I recently bought a Satellite L500 and the keyboard is giving problems. Once every two days or three he starts typing giberrish - IE I type L it will type another letter and so forth--and it only resolves the problem by reset.

Any idea what can cause this problem or how it can be fixed? Its a whole new machine, so I am surprised by the problem?

    Thank you very much
    Partha

    Hi Partha,

    > Its a whole new machine, so I am surprised by the problem?
That makes no difference. These or other problems can still happen that even the laptop is a few days old.

Regarding your problem: have you checked the keyboard input language? I put t know what language you want to use, but I recommend to remove all other languages.
Start > Control Panel > regional and Language Options > language > details

In the worst case if it would be a hardware problem, you should get a new keyboard for free guaranteed due authorized service.

Just restored to the State of factory again, but nothing helped.

Whenever I have use arrows etc., makes the letters and numbers coming up, not on every key shot but on say every second. I'm stumped, any ideas?
    Thank you

    Hi whatnani,

If you have already restored the laptop back to factory settings and checked the correct keyboard layout the case is clear, your keyboard is faulty and should be replaced by a new one.

Satellite L500 is a fairly new model, so it must be covered by the warranty. Simply contact an authorized service provider and ask that:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite L500 - 19 - how to properly configure the keyboard?

I bought a Satellite L500 - 19 c with Windows 7 64 bit and I am having trouble with the keyboard mapping for the correct use of the Portuguese language.

When I try to highlight a letter, for example by 'one', I get the side ' ~ ~ ' instead of the accent over the letter. I checked all the configurations of Windows and Toshiba SW and everything seems to go well tuned for Portuguese (Portugal).

Please help me how to fix.

    Hello

Normally, you can change the layout of the keyboard so go to control panel > keyboard. Here, you must add the keyboard layout you want and delete all other layouts you want.

After that, the keyboard should work fine.

  • Satellite L500-164 - keyboard must change in English or Greek

    Hello

I am a student in Germany now and I was thinking of buying the Satellite L500-164.
The problem is, in all stores, you can buy it only with the German keyboard I completely hate.

Is it possible to change it to an English (or Greek)?
How much will it cost? How long will it take?
I thought to buy directly from Toshiba, but they don't sell, so I guess I'm stuck with buying it and immediately send it to the service of change of keyboard?

Y at - it stores that sell with English keyboard or can change on demand?

    Thank you very much

    > I thought to buy directly from Toshiba, but they don't sell, so I guess I'm stuck with buying it and immediately send it to the service of change of keyboard?
Well, this will be a solution the other would be to buy a Satellite L500 to the United Kingdom to get a keyboard with English layout.

You could try to order it from some online retailers. There are enough shops online that provides Toshiba laptops

  • Problem with keyboard on Satellite L500-128

    Hi all

I'm having some problems with the keyboard on my Satellite L500-128 - essentially; 8, 9, i, o, k, l and comma and period keys do not work.

All other keys are working perfectly fine (I use an external keyboard if people wonder!)

I'm technically minded but I was wondering if its worth disassemble the laptop and have one eye or if someone has had this problem with this laptop before - or if someone has any ideas with what he could fix.

I tried to do a reset of the laptop (battery and pressing power button) I reinstalled the operating system, but the keyboard still has problems in the BIOS too.

    Hello

In my opinion and as suggested by Liam, it looks like a simple keyboard malfunction and to solve this problem, the keyboard needs to be replaced.

The Toshiba service in your country partner could replace the defective
Otherwise, you could try to replace it yourself, but if you are a beginner and if you have no experience, ask a support technician.
